Dark and Gloomy

Sova peered into the dark canyon before him, unable to see the bottom. Why were they doing this again? Oh, yes, because Mirage is a vampire. Of course they had to be passing by the Black Spear mountains when the complaints about the sunlight started. For some reason, the glaceon felt compelled to fix this problem his friend was having. The darkest place he knew of was the big bottomless hole in the mountain range; the Obsidian Crevice.

He kicked a rock down into the crevice and listened. While it quickly faded from vision, he could hear it bounce and roll down, deeper and deeper, until it got too far away to be audible. It didn't sound like it was intending to stop soon.... "Here's your darkness. Happy now?" He asked to the zorua as he took a careful step down the rather steep slope.

If he still had his old Anticipation ability, he would be risking falling just from the shivers.

Sova stayed on the ground for a minute, giving himself time to wake up and figure out what in the world happened. They went down into the Obsidian Crevice....they got into a battle....Espurr used some horrible attack....that face....

He shuddered for a moment. It was suddenly tempting to stop trying to remember what happened, but he went on. The next thing he remembered was some vague conversation with Mirage, all the while feeling as if he was poisoned. He wished he could remember the details, but at least for the time being, the details were on vacation.

With his memory out of the way, the glaceon rose to his feet. "Mirage, you there? Miraaaaaaaaaaaage." He said in a loud and clear voice to the sleeping zorua, noticing that she seemed to be sleeping on a frozen dead body.... Did I do that? He thought to himself.

Mirage jolted awake at the sound of her name being called, "Huh? What? Oh, you're awake finally?"
She stood up and stretched, giving a yawn before hopping down near the Glaceon, "You finally cured Poison-Butt?" she asked Sova, her eyes still a bit drowsy from the small slumber she had on top of the Frozen Zweilous. She looked to the Glaceon, waiting for either "Yes i'm fine now" or "No i'm going to do _ now." or something similar and along those lines.

Sova smiled in relief to see Mirage was alive and well and his own fragmented memories weren't lying to him. "Eh, more or less. Wasn't aware I needed to be cured though." He said in the hopes the zorua would willingly help repair his memories without him having to openly ask, perhaps by telling him some details from the conversation he'd recalled. He could barely remember anything from it, what if he said something embarrassing or worse, mean? Oh no, what if he'd said something mean to Mirage?? That would be absolutely horrible.

"Yeah you got poisoned by Stinger-Butt over there I think," she pointed to the Skorupi, "You went on about how you thought you were going to die and tell your wife and children you loved them and yadayadayada," she huffed, over exaggerating what had occurred, but only due to how Sova had been overly dramatic about being poisoned. She left out the strange tidbit of him mentioning that he had been saved from a "him", because she had assumed that "him" was the espurr or something.

Sova hanged his head in embarrassment. "Hah....ahah...." He laughed nervously. "I really said that? Whyyy...." He muttered, just loud enough to be audible to Mirage. How embarrassing, he thought he had a wife and children? The last two times he'd been poisoned it was just painful and made him feel weak, how was this time so much different?

Then he pieced together that there was a gap in his memory between when he was poisoned and when the conversation with Mirage happened.... And he didn't remember defeating any of the enemies, yet two of them were definitely defeated and the other one was nowhere to be seen....had that....thing come out? In front of Mirage?

"Anyways, we should probably keep moving in the case that these two aren't dead and they wake up and attack. Or someone else comes along and puts accuses you of murder, that wouldn't look very good back at the guild you know," she spoke. Her tail gave a flick as she looked deeper into the crevice, they could either go down deeper or make their way back up. She didn't really care which way as of right then, but she had to admit to herself that the crevice seemed to go on...and on...and on. It made her shiver a bit from the thought of how deep this crevice was, and what dangers lurk below.

"Yeah...." Sova began walking in the opposite direction of the exit, figuring since they were there they might as well finish exploring the place, but paused as something caught his attention. What had Mirage said? "Wait, wait....Me? But....I thought you....it wasn't....I did that?" If what the zorua said was true, he really had zoned out again. Of course he had. It wasn't like a zorua could freeze someone....but he didn't want to believe it. This meant he wasn't in control of himself. What if he attacked Mirage?

"Well I certainly didn't do it so unless they turned on each other and the Stinger-Butt can reduce Dragon-Breath to a heap of ice then the only one left to have done it is you," she spoke, not really appalled by the murder, if they even were dead. She used to have a thing against killing, thinking it was for the weak who feared revenge being brought upon them, but now she did not really care. What if it had been a nuisance and just kept on coming back? It'd be easier to just kill it.

Sova sighed. "Great...." He muttered to himself as he continued walking. Mirage apparently hadn't noticed anything odd about his behavior during the lapse of time he couldn't remember, but he knew what had happened. Could he tell her? What if she flipped out and ran away or something? But he couldn't lie or keep it a secret, that felt wrong. But when would be a good time to tell her? Maybe he could fit it into a conversation at some point....

Mirage surveyed the area, it was dark, gloomy, and pretty much the same as it was earlier if you did not count the frozen Zweilous and knocked out Skorupi far behind them. What little sunlight that had provided light was beginning to disappear, and Mirage could still see pretty well, being a dark type and a naturally nocturnal pokemon, however she did not quite know how Sova was doing.
"Can you still see alright?" she asked, wondering if she could utilize the glow her claws gave from Fury Swipes to give him some kind of lighting.

Sova looked deeper down into the abyss, having noticeably lower visibility than a few minutes ago. "Well, I can see right now. Get back to me in a few minutes and that answer might change though." He said as they walked. Lack of visibility wasn't a problem he'd accounted for. Then again he didn't know this abyss was going to be so deep. What was even at the bottom anyways? Was there a bottom? Of course there was....there had to be a bottom, a bottomless pit would make no sense. Though the thought of what was at the bottom did intrigue him.

Mirage heard the Glaceon's answer, and as if on cue her claws grew longer and began to glow, changing her paw steps from silent thumps to the click of her nails against the rock. The claws provided a small source of light, but drained at the Zorua's ability to use Fury Swipes, not like she favored the move anyways. She practically never used Fury Swipes, favoring Shadow Ball or Dark Pulse than claws, she always did favor keeping a distance and attacking from there.
"Better?" she asked, even though the glow did not help much but illuminate her paws.

Sova nodded, although the glow wasn't really very bright. But at least now he'd be able to clearly see the ground they were walking on....as long as he stayed near Mirage. Which, of course, was something he was happy to do.

"Sooo, lovely weather down here.... At least I'm sure it is from your perspective. All dark and....dark." He said as he surveyed the area, moreso for emphasis on what he was saying than to actually look at anything, considering it was mostly just rocky terrain and darkness.

"Darkness, Rocks, dead plants, such pleasant weather," Mirage huffed, her voice tainted with sarcasm. The darkness almost felt as if it were closing in around them, only being held at bay by her glowing claws that gave enough light to protect them. However, the claws were similar to that of a beacon. Even though they could see with the light, it would be like telling other pokemon, "Hey! Over here! Fresh meat! Come and get it!"

"I thought that was what you liked." Sova joked. "Seriously though, you don't like the sunlight, this place is as far from sunny as it gets. I'd have thought you'd be enjoying it." He said in a more honest tone. Mirage was oh-so-difficult to please. He brought her to the most beautiful place he could think of and she was not happy. He brought her to the darkest place he could think of and she was not happy. What did she want?
