PostSubject: A Simple Training Session   A Simple Training Session EmptyMon Sep 16, 2013 7:09 pm

Violet was once again planting berries in the tranquil garden behind her newly constructed dojo. It was a daily chore at the moment whilst she got the berry garden up and running... well, perhaps not a chore per say since Violet herself rather enjoyed being out in her garden.

She was waiting for the appearance of a Pikachu who had requested to train at the dojo. He had yet to arrive, but it was not yet the agreed time and so Violet was merely using up her spare time to continue planting as she waited.

Due to the natural look of the building Nate had almost missed it, nearly walking right past it before he noticed that it was most likely the place he was looking for. The area certainly seemed quiet and secluded enough where someone would probably want to put a dojo to avoid any issues.
"Right, probably should have kept that in mind. Hope I'm not late." He muttered to himself, entering through the doorway and walking into what he assumed was the training area, except he didn't see the Oshawott who ran it there. Instead of just sitting around and waiting, he continued to walk in and headed through the next doorway he saw, leading into a garden.
"Hello? Is anybody there?" The pikachu asked, taking a few steps into the garden and looking around, taking in the sights and smells of it.

Violet blinked and halted her berry planting as she heard a voice. Turning she could spot the Pikachu near the doorway that lead back into the main dojo building.
"Over here!" she called out, beckoning the Pikachu further into the garden as she finished planting one final berry. Once she was done she got to her feet and met the electric mouse half way.

"You must be Nate," she smiled warmly, using one of her white paws to re-position the pale purple flower that rested behind one of her ears.

Once he heard her voice, Nate glanced around a bit before noticing the water type finishing up with her gardening. Nodding his head, he started to walk over to her, stopping as they met up in between where they had both started.
"Yeah, that's me. And I'm guessing you're the one in charge of the dojo, right?" He responded, trying to avoid the topic of her name, having forgotten it. Right...that's a problem. What was it? Veronica, Violet, Vicky, something like that... He started to think to himself.

The Oshawott nodded cheerfully in reply to the Pikachu's question before continuing, "I'm Violet. I believe you wanted to learn the move Magnet Rise, as well as partake in some general training."
She confirmed the Pikachu's requests with a smile, "Alrighty then. If we head back inside we can get started!" she grinned, leading the way towards the dojo's back entrance.

"Right, Violet. Nice to meet you." Nate responded, before nodding his head. "Yeah, that's what I'm here for." He told the Oshawott, seeing she had gotten his request right. Watching her lead the way back into the main section of the dojo the Pikachu followed behind, still looking around at the garden as he walked.
"Sounds good. Looks like you take pretty good care of the garden back here." He commented, finding the various flowers to be an almost comforting and definitely peaceful sight in the area.

Violet grinned at Nate as he complimented her garden, "It's hard work up-keeping such a large garden but the payoff feels amazing," she smiled cheerfully, leaving the basket containing the remaining berries in a corner of the room.
"Alright. I guess we'd better do some form of warm up first. Show me what you can do with your moves," grinned Violet, taking up a position opposite the Pikachu. She needed to be ready to dodge or counter whatever moves he threw at her so that she could accurately judge their power. Hopefully Nate would throw a few more creative things in there to make it a bit more fun.

Nate chuckled slightly, walking into the larger room and taking a look around the area, turning and looking at Violet as she put her berries in the corner.
"Right, I'm sure you would know a bit about hard-work and payoff, being a dojo owner and all." The Pikachu responded, starting to think of how to example what moves he had.
"Do you want me to attack you? Or should I just sort of use them as an example." He asked the Oshawott, not wanting to send an electric-type move her way without her expecting it or just use a bunch of moves and not hit her. Of course she could probably take an attack or two, he figured she would be used to it, but just in case.

"Attack me," she replied promptly, "That way I an get a feel for how powerful your moves are at the same time." The Oshawott was fine with electric moves as a well timed scalchop counter could negate it if need be. Violet was interested as to what moves he had as well because she was curious as to why the Pikachu would want to learn Magnet Rise. Perhaps Nate thought it would just be an interesting move to learn.

"Oh, yeah. Sorry." Nodding his head as she told him what to do, Nate immediately started to think of how to use his moves. Deciding to start off simple, he felt a surge of electricity run through him and sent a thunder wave towards Violet before following it up with a Thunderpunch, running towards her as he pulled his paw back and punched forward. He figured he would start off with those two moves and then use a Thundershock next. Maybe he would use his fourth move he was planning on getting rid of, but it didn't really do any damage or have too many other effects he could think of in his mind.

Violet watched the Pikachu carefully as he decided how to use his moves. The short jolt of electricity came shooting towards her at a fast pace, however she was faster, grabbing her shell and using it to deflect the electrical attack away from her, where it then hit the ground, discharging itself. Scalchop still in hand, Violet used her legs to propel herself off of the ground, backflipping just out of range of Nate's Thunderpunch. As she passed the Pikachu's arm, she could feel the crackling of electricity from the move. Landing neatly on her paws, Violet quickly dodged behind the Pikachu, attempting to judge how fast his reactions were.

Nate was taken by slight surprise watching the Oshawott easily jump out of range, not having expected her to be so agile. Pausing for a moment, he only started to react when she dodged behind him. He quickly stepped away, almost stumbling slightly when he did, and turned in her direction as she did so, sending a stronger charge of electricity her way as he used a Thundershock attack. As he had attacked he continued to back up a few more steps on instinct, wanting to keep her at a distance and treating it like he would treat a battle. He kept his eyes on her, waiting for a reaction and already planning out possible next steps to take.

Wanting to gauge the power of this move, the Oshawott didn't attempt to dodge. Instead she repeated what she had done with Thunder Wave earlier, using her scalchop to protect herself and redirect the electricity generated by the move. The only difference this time was that she angled her scalchop in a way that would redirect the electricity back towards Nate rather than just discharging it into the ground.

Watching her deflect the attack, Nate smirked for a moment, but only a moment as he saw that this time she hadn't just sent it into the ground. This time it was heading right back at him. Oh c- He thought to himself as he attempted to get out of the way, but wasn't fast enough and took the attack. Being an electric type, it didn't hurt him as much as something else would have but it was enough to knock him back a bit and onto the ground. Getting back up, he blinked his eyes slightly and brushed off the dirt, looking over at Violet.
"I don't have any other battling moves really. My only other move doesn't exactly do anything much." The Pikachu said, unsure of if he should continue or not after having already given her an example of his moves. Of course maybe she would have him keep going, but he didn't want to in case she wasn't expecting it, although she had already more then proven she could take care of it if he had.

Violet blinked, observing as the Pikachu attempted to dodge the returning Thundershock, but could not in time and was hit by the move.
"Speed is something that would be beneficial for you to work on," she commented, pausing before she added, "Just out of curiosity, what is your final move?"
Violet assumed that whatever move it was, Nate would be forgetting it soon enough in favour of Magnet Rise, the move he had requested to be taught here today. The Oshawott replaced her scalchop to it's position on her chest as she listened to the Pikachu's answer.
