Mistakes are great! :D

First topic message reminder :

Inside the guild, a Kecleon was caught in a flurry of activity. There were plenty of blurry colors as it rushed passed them, weaving through the crowd, away from the entrance steps, passed the bulletin boards. The Kecleon turned into the guild quarters searching for a spotch of pink. Yooka stopped in the middle of the guilds quarters turning left and right looking for a certain shape... a certain pokemon Where is she... Where is she...? I know I'm in the right building I met the Guildmaster. I know this is the Guild Quarters, I see Faye's room right over there... I... think.

She tried to calm down. The earlier encounter with the Guildmaster was almost a mistake, she would've joined a different team. Yooka made a promise to join Darcy's guild as an extra for the excort quests reward but Yooka wanted to surprise Darcy by joining 'her' team. Yooka asked darcy to meet her at the guild in the early morning but unfortunately, Yooka didn't quite specify where in the guild.

A large, old tome had been opened on the Guildmaster's desk, one of her vines resting on the edge of the rightmost page. Her eyes were fixated on the pages, moving from side to side as she read the words on the pages, looking like she was deep in thought. The sounds of the Guild had long been forgotten, having turned into insignificant background noise that didn't seem to bother the Meganium's concentration one bit. Her own room was quiet, only occasionally broken by the soft sound of a vine turning a page – or the sound of softly gulping down a mouthful of tea, a small cup of it sitting on the desk beside the book, a wisp of steam rising from it.

But when there was a new sound, one she hadn't managed to get used to yet, Faye raised her head. It was the door – her door, its hinges softly creaking as it was opened. Only slightly, so perhaps she had forgotten to just close it properly and the air had pushed it open… Or perhaps not.
"Hello?" She asked, tilting her head.

Darcy took that as her cue to step forward and push the door fully open with a paw.  The warm, familiar scent of flowers and tea put a smile on her face as she took in the sights of the Guildmaster's office.  This room's decorations had always reminded her of home...  The bookshelves on the back wall, the countless potted plants...  The only thing that would have seemed out of place there was the heavy wooden desk at the center, far too large for any Skitty or Delcatty, and presently occupied by the Guildmaster herself.

The Guildmaster...  Darcy sighed inwardly, reminded of the pot of dead flowers in her bag.  She truly didn't deserve the amount of kindness and patience the Guildmaster offered her...  The Skitty knew that she was more childish than most Pokémon, and that she scared easily, and that she was among the worst at the guild when it came to completing missions...  And now she couldn't even keep some plants from dying before she could give them to Faye.  The one thing that had seemed within her reach, that might have let Faye know how thankful she was, if even a tiny bit.  She was getting better at guildwork, and she was determined to keep trying for as long as Faye would have her, but that did little to soothe the sting of failing at so many things...

...She realized that she had spent the last few seconds wordlessly staring at the floor while lost in thought.  Flattening her ears somewhat in embarrassment, she looked up again and tried to regain her bearings.

"U-um, hi, Faye.  Do you have a moment?" she began as she stepped aside to make sure Yooka was visible.  ...That was right.  At least Yooka was here...  Someone who could help her practice and learn, and who she could talk to and play with when she felt down...  The thought put a timid smile back on Darcy's face as she continued.  "You've met Yooka, right?  She came here from Rainfront Town to join the guild.  We've known each other for a little while, and...  Guess whose team she asked to join!"

Just as the room seemed empty, Yooka heard a familiar voice from within. She can't seriously be in.-- Yooka stepped away from the door when she heard the voice, Perhaps Darcy should take the lead if it is her. but before yooka could even look at the skitty let alone ask her to go ahead, the skitty had already opened the door fully and was talking to the guildmaster. oh... Yooka was just staring at the guildmaster throughout the skitty's small talk. I wasn't expecting her to actually go in that soon... It was only when the skitty moved to the side and acknowledge yooka's presence to the guildmaster was when Yooka realized she should probably do something.

She blinked, then looked from the skitty, then to the guildmaster before doing anything."um... hello again? I'd say more, but... I think I'll let Darcy handle this. Although, I do have a couple questions, but I'll wait till after this is over. If you need me, I'll be over here, unless... uh, you need me over there." She didn't do much else except close the door behind her and lean against the wall next to it. She was a shade lighter and moving ever slightly slower than normal, but she looked completely fine to untrained eyes.

A familiar, creamy face pushed through the gap in the door, the Skitty who had joined the Guild some time ago – Darcy. Immediately the questioning looks of Faye had turned into a warm smile.
"Oh, hello there, dearie. Of course – please come in," she invited the Skitty – and the Kecleon that was revealed to be behind her – inside. Yes, the Kecleon was familiar – she had seen Yooka a bit earlier, though the Kecleon had suddenly ran away in a hurry. The Meganium had really hoped it wasn't her appearance that had caused that, but at least she was back now…

"Ah, yes, hello again, Yooka. It is good to see you again," she chuckled softly, pulling out a little red bookmark from the drawers of her desk and inserted it between the pages of the book she had been reading before she closed it and returned it on the shelves with one, swift movement of her vines. Faye was certain she had an idea as to what it was that was going on around here, but it wouldn't have been the first time she had feigned ignorance.
"Now please, I'm on the edge of my seat," well, not literally as she wasn't sitting on anything,
"Whose team was Yooka going to join? And do not hesitate with the questions, sweetie, especially if they are about the Guild and joining it…"

"I'll give you a hint!  The team's name starts with an 'F'..." Darcy said as her smile grew a little wider and she swished her tail back and forth.  She couldn't turn down a chance to play along like this, even with the Guildmaster...  She sure was glad that Faye was so kind and easygoing.  The Skitty didn't know if she could have stayed at the guild for this long otherwise...

Instead of taking a seat in front of Faye's desk, though, Darcy followed Yooka and settled onto her haunches right beside her.  "But first, um...  What are your questions, Yooka?" she said, looking up at the Kecleon warmly.  "You should ask them before you sign up instead of after, don't you think?  You might not want to go back home to your dad...  But there are plenty of other places to stay in Grassveil Town if you decide this isn't for you."

Good... to see me? Yooka nearly laughed as the guildmaster said that, but Yooka was too tense to laugh. As the skitty walked up to yooka to say a few things, Yooka stayed silent for a few seconds with her eyes closed facing the floor. The questions cant be asked now... What should I say? She opened her eyes and looked at the Guildmaster "um... It's just if I could get a backpack with the same design as my pack I brought with me... The other questions are just basic what-ifs and the rules of the guild. I'd probably get the rules from Darcy, but the what-ifs I'd like to say alone."

Even if Yooka wanted to move now, she's locked in place due to how tense she is. Leaning against the wall, arms crossed, foot on wall, looking relaxed as ever. Yooka went silent as she finished. She just stared at the desk, only listening for the two voices. She hasn't been this still in her life, she wasn't even shivering or twitching. However, she forced herself to look at the guildmaster once again. "Sorry to spoil it, but I think it was, uh..." What did that automaton, Adamantine say again... Friendship Alliance...? As soon as she realized what the name was she started to laugh and couldn't hold it. "I'm sorry. heheh, I don't know why, im laughing. It's just a name. heheheh..." Yooka was then on the ground cringing from laughter.

"Ah, really? But there are so many teams that start with an 'F'…" Faye smiled, perhaps teasing the Skitty a little now. Maybe, for emphasis, she should have pulled out the book where she had written down all the teams currently in their Guild and start guessing alphabetically, but perhaps she would save that for another time. They had a sign-up to go through, after all!

It seemed like there were some questions the Kecleon wanted to ask in private, and of course the Meganium had nothing against that, nodding. A question about the backpack seemed to be on Yooka's mind as well, a soft chuckle escaping the Guildmaster's lips.
"All of our bags are very standard in their looks… However, there are skilled Pokémon living in Grassveil Town. If you showed them what you had in your mind, I'm sure they might be able to do something more unique to your Guild bag," Faye explained, her voice a bit apologetic, but… But she was certain Yooka could get what she wanted in the end, even if not through the Guild proper.

Yooka didn't seem to be allowing Faye guess about the name forever, it seemed, starting to rack her own head trying to remember what it actually was. The Meganium just smiled as she watched, waiting… Until of course, the Kecleon just burst out laughing. But… It didn't seem like a bad kind of a laugh, more good-hearted and honest. And it was a bit infectious! Faye couldn't help but laugh gently herself.
"My, I don't think we have a team with that name here…"

"O-oh, do you want another hint?  Ummm..." Darcy said, covering her mouth with a paw as she stifled a giggle.  She couldn't quite tell if Faye was serious or joking...  But she didn't mind continuing this game either way.  She rarely got a chance to even talk with the Guildmaster, let alone play like this, so she stared at the ground and wagged her tail fervently as she tried to think of another good hint...

Just as Faye and Yooka finished discussing the guild's bags, Darcy lit up and opened her mouth to speak as she was struck by an idea.  But before she could say anything, it seemed that Yooka wanted to hazard a guess of her own...  And it was soon apparent that while Faye might not know the team's name, Yooka certainly did.

Darcy couldn't help but break into a wide grin and laugh a little alongside her.  "Welcome to 'Team Friendship Alliance', Yooka!" Darcy said, beaming at Yooka as she threw one of her paws into the air.  The name was...  Well, it was on-the-nose, to say the least.  Even Darcy could see that much.  But while she was capable of laughing at it like anyone else, she still regarded it rather fondly...  It had been suggested by her first teammate, and while she hadn't seen the Sneasel since their first mission together, the name had stuck with her as a symbol of the things she cared about and the things she hoped to do...  She wasn't embarrassed by it, even if it might seem silly to other Pokémon.

At the moment, though, she was just happy that it had gotten Yooka to relax a little!  She'd seemed awfully stiff up until now.  But maybe that was natural for anyone's first time truly speaking with the Guildmaster...

...Speaking of the Guildmaster, Darcy was a little disappointed to realize that their little game was over...  "O-ohhhh, sorry I had to spoil it, Faye...  Yooka's joining my team.  That's alright, isn't it? she said as she paced towards Faye's desk and stared up at the Meganium with a shy smile.

Yooka nearly had a gut ache from laughing too much, but calmed down enough to get up. Just to hear the sarcastic welcome from the skitty. Heheheheh, So you don't mind the name being slightly awkward? As long as I dont see any Ponytas for awhile I should be fine. As the skitty started to walk towards the desk saying yooka would be joining her team, she too started to walk over, "I guess I should be signing something, right?"
Yooka was standing infront of the desk, it was nearly as tall as she was, just short by a few inches. It was a little annoying, so she took a few moments to decide that it would be better to take a seat. This shouldn't be hard right?

Faye just laughed, her voice soft and quiet enough to not be overbearing, but she certainly seemed like she was having a good time as she observed the two Pokémon interact. The mystery of the team Yooka was joining had been revealed, but that didn't mean the game was completely over!
"Oh, I had no idea. Yes, of course others can join your team, Darcy," the Meganium nodded with a smile, allowing one of her prehensile vines to slip out from underneath the flowery frill on her neck, snaking its way to the back shelf. It wrapped itself around a certain book, rather large and thick in size.

The book was placed on the desk and opened, the Guildmaster spending some time to browse through its pages to find the correct one, the page that had the information about Team Friendship Alliance. As the Kecleon inched closer, Faye's eyes flicked form the page to Yooka.
"You can indeed write your own name, if you would like to. I can do it for you too if you'd prefer that – up to you, really," she smiled, producing a feather quill pen from one of the desk's drawers. She dipped the end of the quill into a bottle of ink, her gaze drifting in the direction of the bottle to see what it was she was doing. She often was the one writing in the book, but hey, if someone else wanted to for a change, she wasn't going to object…

Oh, so Faye really hadn't known which team it was after all!  ...Err, unless that was a joke, too.  Darcy still couldn't quite tell...  But either way, the Guildmaster seemed to be happy, and that was enough to put a smile on the Skitty's face.

As she saw Faye retrieve a familiar-looking book, Darcy approached one of the chairs in front of the desk and pounced up onto it.  It was a little too tall for her, so getting on top was something of a struggle--she didn't dare use her claws, and almost slipped off--but eventually she managed to haul herself up and settle into a sitting position, now having a rare chance to look at Faye without being a third of her height.

"A lot of Pokémon just can't sign their own names, so Faye has to do it herself sometimes.  I'm really jealous of you two..." Darcy explained with a small giggle.  It had never bothered her much before joining the guild, but her lack of hands or vines could be inconvenient sometimes...  It was an unexpected perk of having teammates, she supposed.  She wouldn't have been able to write letters to her family otherwise.

...As she leaned against the back of the chair, she noticed that the weight of her bag had shifted somewhat during her climb.  She pulled it open and poked her head inside...  It seemed that the pot she was carrying had toppled over, littering the bottom with dirt and wilted petals.  It had almost fallen out of the bag entirely, from the looks of it...  Darcy unslung her bag with her mouth and settled it in front of her, then began using her forepaws in a clumsy effort to set it upright and place it somewhere more secure while Yooka and Faye did their business...

As the Guildmaster opened the book, Yooka couldn't help but watch. When she was offered to write her name, Yooka paused for a second hearing the skitty say something about some pokemon not being able to write. "what? wait... The guild doesn't use the universal footprint runes? Nevermind, I barely heard what you said. I matter aswell just let the guildmaster write my name. I don't mind."I only looked into only one other written language, and they couldn't do that without confusing everyone. She backed into the chair she was in, Yooka noticed the skitty was fumbling around with a pot of clearly dead flowers.

What...? why? what could you possib--"ohh... uh, wait...!" Yooka quickly looked at the guildmaster, Yooka couldn't help but start chuckling to herself, "Oh no, you can go ahead and write my name. Its just something just came up and it's been biting me for abit and it just so happens to do with Meganiums. heheheh, What was it Meganiums can do that seem almost god-like again? I forgot what it was..." as she said that Yooka tried not to look at or near the skitty to reveal her smile, but she could tell the skitty knew what she was thinking.

With a nod, Faye brought the quill pen over the pages of the tome, her eyes glancing in Yooka's direction as if to get one final confirmation that this was what the Kecleon wanted. She didn't seem to object and just stood back, allowing the Meganium to write it down in the book, so… So that was the thing that was left for her to do, then. The quill was brought down, touching the paper as it gently scratched it through the movement, the ink drawing a line wherever it touched. A name was written on the page, but before the book was closed, Faye allowed the ink to dry in the open air for a little while. No one would like smudged ink, now would they?

"God-like abilities a Meganium has?" The Guildmaster asked with a smile, looking up at the two Pokémon with a slight tilt of her head. Not a topic she heard every day, certainly. A soft laugh escaped her lips.
"Surely not me? I am hardly anything god-like, sweetie."

It took some effort and concentration, but at length, Darcy managed nestle the pot snugly into a corner of her bag.  She smiled, but before she could pull the bag shut, her attention was caught by Yooka's laughter once again...  She couldn't be sure, but Darcy thought she saw Yooka's gaze dart away from the pot of flowers just as she began speaking.  The Skitty stared at Yooka curiously while she listened.  God-like abilities..?  ...Come to think of it, hadn't Yooka shared a rumor about that sort of thing a while back..?

...W-wait, Yooka didn't seriously think Faye could nurse these flowers back to health, did she?  The Guildmaster could work wonders when it came to gardening, but these were beyond saving, even for her!  ...And...  And besides, asking for her help like that would be really embarrassing.  The Skitty had wanted to give these to Faye as an apology for being such a flaky guildmember.  But if they were all dried up and dead...  Ugh, blood rushed to her face and she flattened her ears just thinking about it.  That would be worse than giving her nothing...

"I-I don't know what you're talking about either!" Darcy said as she fumbled to shut the bag with her paws, her voice a little more forceful than it needed to be.  She hoped that Faye hadn't seen them.  Even if Darcy didn't give them as a gift, she didn't want to tell the Guildmaster that the flowers were dead because of such a dumb mistake...  The Skitty already felt inadequate around Faye, with how bad she was at completing missions.  She didn't want the Pokémon that she respected so much to have even more proof that she was useless.  Faye's joking had made Darcy feel comfortable for a while, but now her self-consciousness crashed back into her at full-force...

She hopped down from her chair and stared at the ground.  "Um, thank you, Faye.  I'll, um...  I'll go set up a third bed in my team's room while Yooka asks her questions," she murmured hastily, bowing her head before she turned around and stiffly began trotting towards the door.  She hoped no one would stop her.  This was the last place she wanted to be at the moment...

Yooka almost broke a smile when the guildmaster sounded like she didn't know. however, she froze when the skitty studdered. It's not like Darcy to stutter and lie over something. As she turned to look at the skitty, The seat was empty. She heard the skitty again coming from the other side of the chair. when Yooka saw the skitty, she couldnt help but say "Hey, Darcy, why are you walking away?" Understanding the real reason the skitty is acting that way caused Yooka 's adrenaline to spike. Not good.

she hadn't actually forgotten, she turned towards the guildmaster before continuing... "I sortof remember, I 'think' it was about meganiums anyway... their breath can revive dead plants. So, why not ask the meganium of the guild if they could actually revive dead plants. I... I..." Yooka took a pretty deep breath. She knew she's going to regret this. She turned towards the skitty. "I wanted to see if that rumor was true, and darcy there just happens to have a withered plant in her bag."

Tuning out the skitty as she looked back at the guildmaster, sortof, yooka was looking more towards the ceiling. Yooka Guessed that the skitty wouldn't like what she said and was about to say and probably get yelled at by faye for causing meaningless trouble. "If Darcy there would 'stop' being 'embarrassed', and show Faye the plant. Perhaps Faye could find out what it is while also proving or busting a rumor... If it ends up busted, then at least you tried. alright? geez.

Yooka doesnt usually lose her cool like that but she was losing something of interest, and she doesnt want to pass up the convenience of that plant to a skitty with what appears to be 'Wimp-out'... Yooka pulled her feet up onto the seat, clenched her arms over her face, and closed her eyes expecting some aggresive talking and a potential 'get out'...
