Helping a friend gain strength

~Before Reaching Mountain Base~
After spending some time in grassveil in his home to rest from his recent journey's. Jak to take a visit into the town center.
He stumbled across an old friend in town. That person was a buizel named Jet. Jet had always come off as a little shy and timid pokemon to Jak. However Jak knew he had a lot of potential.

When Jak had saw his old friend. Jak offered to help train Jet some more. He seemed to like the idea of getting more training. Jak offered to bring him to Black Mist Mountain for some training. It would be a bit tougher then the normal areas around grassveil, but it would be helpful to Jet. Jet was a bit hesitant to do so at first, given that he had never been very far beyond Rainfront Town before. But he would be with Jak, somebody he knew he could trust and rely on...and it would serve to help him grow better than what he was used to. He needed greater progress than what he was currently receiving. After agreeing, Jak stated that they should prepare for the trip. It would be a few days trip to the mountain, especially from grassveil. The Buizel nodded to him, knowing full well that the mountain range was much farther than he had ever traveled before. He was definitely going to need to be properly prepared.
"So, I am going to get ready for the trip.. Meet me at the exit from town when your ready to head out." Jak stated as he waved to the Buizel. Jet nodded again, returning the wave before departing and seeking to gather what materials he would need as well. He just hoped that he could pull his own weight out there and wouldn't end up dragging Jak down with him....

~On the way to Mountain~
Jak had been walking at a steady pace with the Buizel, ensuring that they had not gotten too tired when they arrived there. Having breaks every so often , resting at night in natural shelters along the path. They both would have to be in top condition if they happened to have come across some hostile natives early on their adventure. "We are almost there. We should arrive there before tonight..." Jak stated as he looked around to see if there was any natural shelters from the elements for the night. The weather had been unstable in recent days. So Jak had not liked being out overnight without something overhead, Just incase the weather decided to go for the worst and start raining on him. Knowing that he could die if the rain got heavy enough, being something he had gotten used to doing before nightfall,

"We should probably keep an eye out for shelter the rest of the way. I really don't like getting caught outside when having to rest... It isn't fun being caught outside if it suddenly starts to rain... However, I can't say the same for you." Jak stated with a slight chuckle.

"How are you holding up so far?" Jak asked the Buizel, making sure he was still doing alright on the travel to the mountain.

The Lairon glared at the Charmeleon as the Fire-type Pokémon prepared more flames to launch in his direction. And sure enough, just as the Steel-type Pokémon expected, it came almost without hesitation. But these flames seemed different than the last ones. He shook his head violently, however...he welcomed the new challenge. He let out a roar of his own, one that was not quite as impressive as the Aggron's, but it was not too far off. He began to charge forward, just as Jak launched his Will-O-Wisp attack. As he charged forward, however a green orb formed around his body...and when the Charmeleon's flames slammed up against it, they simply dissipated harmlessly. The Lairon, not hindered by the attack in the slightest, continued his forward charge, attempting to slam into the Charmeleon and throw his body up against the back wall.

The Lairon was not the only Pokémon that initiatated an attack. Just as the Cubone desired, the Aron rushed at him as well. His stubby legs smacked against the ground, his body gaining speed as he approached. He was not the fastest Pokémon, but he did not need to be if he could just manage to land a solid hit. He attempted to reach the Cubone...and aimed a powerful Headbutt as hard as he could at the Cubone's midsection.

Both Pokémon attempted to strike their opponents while they were distracted by the Aggron's Metal Sound attack.

Jet let out a small sigh of relief as he watched the second Aggron take a step forward, perhaps preparing to start his advance as well. However, what he got instead was an extremely loud screech that took him completely by surprise. His eyes instinctively shut and he immediately brought his paws up to his ears, trying to block out the sound as much as he could. "Agh...!" he cried out in agony at the sound, sinking to one of his knees. He looked up, barely able to see the first Aggron lowering himself and preparing to charge. Th-this wasn't good.... He needed to get his Rain Dance up before it was too late...!

He opened his mouth and created a sphere of water within it. He tilted his head back and blasted it as hard as he could into the air. The orb sailed high into the air before it exploded. As the attack blew up, clouds started to form overherd...and soon, a very light drizzle began to drop. But it would take a moment for the rain to really start coming down.

Wild Pokémon!

Jak watched as his flames left no impression on the pokemon a second time. They seemed to dissipate almost immediately on contact. "Heh, fun..." he mumbled as he jumped out of the way of the pokemon at the last second he was capable of getting away. As it went past him he shot another viscous looking flame of similar color at the pokemon. Attempting to see if the move had faded after taking the previous flame.

. At some point, he felt a raindrop just after he saw a ball of light fly into the sky. That is a different way to invoke a raindance... Wonder how many ways there are... he thought to himself as he had seen this orb.

Jak built up a small flame after that one, waiting to see what the pokemon would do next. If it came after him again, he would extinguish the flame and release a jet of smoke produced by it, covering the entire area in smoke to screen them from view.

The cubone jumped over the Aron as he threw his bone at the back of the pokemon, it would bounce right back to him even if he missed. However it had seemed earlier the Cubone had a wicked aim, so he doubted it would miss unless the pokemon could somehow dodge it.

He then got low to the ground and charged after the pokemon, in case it would fell on the ground from his previous attack, or that it would stop and attempt to turn around. He would then slam into it with his skull.

The Aggron that had previously lowered itself to the ground started to rush towards the Buizel, being wary of the edge it stood near. However at the current rate of speed it was going. It would be near impossible to stop in time if the Buizel managed to get out of the way. It had been attempting to take the Buizel down with its shear weight and power. Having the potential to smash him to pieces.

The other Aggron that had unleashed its terrifying screaching, had stopped and grinned as it started to turn to see what its smaller companions where doing.

((Note: It did not turn fully yet, so Jak and the Cubone have not been discovered just yet... However this is a danger currently!!))

The Lairon followed Jak as the Charmeleon moved to the side and avoided his ramming attack. This Charmeleon might be faster than him, but it did not mean he was unable to keep up with his movements. And sure enough, Jak was ready to unleash another attack immediately afterward. But unfortunately for the fire lizard Pokémon, so was the Lairon. Once his head smashed into the cliff, he pulled his head back...and then slammed it up against the wall again. This time, a wall of stones came tumbling down from the cliff above them. The large stones smashed into the incoming flames that the Charmeleon had spewed and simultaneously threatened to slam into Jak's body. The Rock Slide attack was a very powerful move indeed, and if Jak was not careful, he could end up taking some seriously hefty damage. It was immediately clear just how experienced a battler this Lairon truly was.

The Aron's skull met nothing but air as the cubone dodged his Headbutt attack. And soon enough, he felt something hard strike the back of his head, causing him to stumble forward, surprised by the pain. The bone had taken the Steel-type Pokémon by surprise and caused him to trip over his stubby legs and fall hard onto the ground. However...the Aron knew immediately that the Cubone was going to follow up the bone with another attack and he was ready for it. He may be slow when dashing forward, but he was able to hop in place and turn his entire body around in one swift motion. he then lowered his own skull and slammed his head forward, meeting the Cubone's head-on. However, the Aron had a bit of an advantage. His body was made of solid iron and on top of that, he had backed his attack up with the power of his primary element. His head had begun to glow a silvery color as he slammed his Iron Head as hard as he could into the Cubone's skull in an attempt to overpower it with its incredible Defense and its moderately high physical Attack, as well as the fact that his attack was one of his own moves....

Jet's gaze returned to the three giant Pokémon that were glaring at him, seeing one of them begin its charge at last. However, he was still on his knees at this point and, even with his bolstered speed, he would need to move immediately if he wanted to avoid getting smashed into the stone underneath the Aggron's powerful weight or thrown off the cliff...and he wasn't sure which of those options would be worse. And so, he rose back to his feet, ears still ringing from the screeching Metal Sound that had just penetrated all of his senses. But then...he froze. He suddenly saw the Aggron's charge full-force and his eyes widened in fear. His feet suddenly felt like they were lead bricks and his legs were shaking. The sheer size and power that was headed his way was overwhelming to his senses to the point where he almost wished he were blind right now. This wasn't good.... He knew that he needed to get moving right away, but...something was keeping him in place.

Just then, however, he saw something he feared even more than the Aggron's charge. The second Aggron had grinned at him and turned to look forward at all of the others again. He knew that he could not let him see Jak and the Cubone battling it out with the Aron and Lairon. It was too soon...they were going to get hurt! This realization that his friends could be in danger seemed to remove the fear in his eyes for a short moment. Instead...he looked somewhat determined. "H-hey, wh-where do you think you're looking...!?" Jet called out as loudly as he could. He jumped into the air and spun himself around again, unleashing yet another Sonicboom aimed at the turning Aggron.

Unfortunately, however...this took time away from his own escape. He may have doubled his speed, but after both his initial hesitation and stopping to try to draw the second Aggron's attention again, he no longer had the time to evade the first Aggron. And so, his attention was drawn to the charging Steel-type Pokémon, eyes widening, suddenly fearing for his own safety once again.

The aggron continued its charge at the Buizel, eventually as it reached it... It was gone! The aggron was caught by surprise as it roared when it slid off the edge of the mountain. The other aggron that had been struck by another sonic boom quickly got angry and turned back towards the Buizel as the other one was about to reach it. However, by the time the Aggron had turned around, the Buizel was gone. A white flash occurred across the area just as this had happened.

What the aggron didn't know, was an absol had quickly dragged him away as the other one slid off the cliff side.

The Cubone slammed his skull into the Aron's Skull, both seeming to collide with a lot of force. However due to the fact that his was made of bone and the other being made of Iron. The shear impact quickly overpowered the Cubone. He had attempted to keep his ground but couldn't. Even through the pain, he could not keep his ground.

He then slipped to the side, attempting to avoid being put in anymore pain from the attack. As he had done this, a small crack formed on the side of the skull he had. Fortunately this crack would not produce much pain to him. It wasn't exactly part of him after all. However, it would be painful if he was hit their in the future.

As he had slipped to the side of the pokemon, he attempted to slam his bone club down on the pokemon.

((If the bone does strike the pokemon directly as it blocks it with another move similar to what it used during its Iron Head attack, the bone will crack along the side...))

"Strong... You give good challenge." he stated as he got to the side, keeping fully alert. However his attention was drawn almost immediately as he heard the sound of rocks tumbling almost all around him.

Jak was caught a bit off guard by the fact the pokemon continued into the wall, then slammed into it once more on purpose. He heard the sound of rocks tumbling across the ground. The very instant he heard the sound he looked up to see the rocks tumbling towards him at an increasing velocity. "Shit!" he was caught off guard, he immediately attempted to jump even further to the side, only to notice that the rock slide was getting bigger. It was no longer affecting just a single area. It was causing a chain reaction of land starting to break free.

Some of the rocks had even started dropping dangerously close to the Lairon, many of them starting to threaten the pokemon also. "SMART MOVE!" he shouted at the pokemon as he continued to run in a large circle to avoid the rocks. He noticed the rocks were still coming down. Some were eventually threatening the Poochyena... "JET!!! GET OUT OF HERE!! THE WHOLE SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN IS GIVING!!!" he shouted as the ground started to crack on each impact from the rocks. The rocks had gradually gotten larger the entire time.

Jak was now racing towards the Poochyena, grabbing the first one as the Cubone grabbed the next one.

The remaining two aggron turned around as it heard the rumble of the stones starting to hit the ground. Seeming to glare at what had been happening as they were distracted. Not only was their prey getting away, but the fact that they had to deal with an ongoing landslide... They had gotten pretty upset. Each one began to dig, attempting to get off of the piece of land that was becoming more and more unstable. However the digging they had done, had accelerated the process of the land's demise as they began to flee. The second aggron had not been able to get into the ground before the whole chunk of land shifted about an inch downward.

Jak fell to the ground as the ground shifted from beneath him. Still having not escaped from the the rocks that were cascading off of the slopes above him. One of the larger rocks quickly threatened to flatten him as he was on the ground. However a white flash occurred before that ever happened. Before he realized it, he was off of the chunk of land that was moving. "What just..." he whispered,
The rain still building up. Each drop that landed on him, steam would rise off him. At some point he turned to his side and noticed the Cubone was also there with him, along with the other poochyena he had saved. He then looked towards the direction of the land that was giving way to see an absol racing towards the direction of Jet on that piece of land. When he saw the size of the amount of land that was moving. He couldn't stop looking at it. The amount of land that was moving was huge. It looked like the entire mountain was collapsing yet, it was only a layer on one side!!

Jet watched fearfully as the Aggron drew nearer. Finally, just as the Steel-type was practically upon him, he shut his eyes. He prepared to feel either the body of the giant Pokémon slamming into his side or a large, metallic foot smashing and grinding into his back. However...neither of these things came. Instead he felt something sink into the fur on his upper back and he felt himself get yanked. He yelped slightly in unexpected pain as he was pulled off to the side quickly and roughly. He then heard the scrapes of metal on stone as the Aggron rushed past him and dashed straight off the side of the cliff as per the original plan. A moment later, he had come to a complete stop and whatever it was that had been sunk into his back disappeared. "...H-huh...?" he murmured to himself as he finally opened his eyes again. He found himself safely on his stomach, in a prone position.

He quickly sat up, relieved for the moment that he was mostly unharmed. But he quickly came to a realization. Whoever it was that had just saved him seemed to be gone now. But now, he had something more to worry about. He had just finished one disaster, only to end up smack dab in the middle of another. His eyes widened as he realized what was going on. The entire mountainside was beginning to crumble. Somehow, the entire cliff had become one giant landslide!

The Aron pressed forward with its Iron Head, flat-out refusing to lose in a contest of headbutts. And in the end, he emerged victorious. He caused the Cubone to fall back and move to the side, which was victory enough for him. However, he had clearly not anticipated a bone coming down and slamming powerfully into his back. The bone attack smashed him hard into the stone floor beneath him. He was slow in getting back onto his feet, but he was able to make out the Cubone's next words. He did not respond. By the time he got back to his feet and looked toward the Ground-type Pokémon, he realized that his foe was looking away. He did not seem to notice the crumbling rocks or the potential danger they would be. All he was focused on was the opponent right in front of him. He immediately rushed forward, trying to slam another Iron Head attack into the pit of the Cubone's stomach while he was distracted.

However, something caught him from behind and he quickly realized who it was. The Lairon, having already seen the devastation that his attack had somehow managed to cause, had made his way over to his smaller, weaker companion and grabbed his back in his jaws and lifted him into the air. Then, without hesitation, he began his retreat. He backpedaled away from the path toward safety. He had seen what was going to happen before it had began and had started moving prematurely, so he had just enough time to grab the Aron and move. His heavy body was going to make this trip extremely difficult, but he was determined to make it out of harm's way with his comrade in tow. In all likelihood, he probably wished that he had grown strong enough to use an Autotomize. But alas, he did not. He could only charge to the side, using powerful legs to leap his heavy weight across gaps as they appeared in the ground. He was headed for the side opposite where Jak and the others would end up if they all survived.

As Jak and the Cubone reached out and grabbed hold of each Poochyena, who were too frightened and were cowering too much by the sudden crumbling mountainside to struggle or resist, Jet was struggling with his own problems. Now the land mass had begun to shift, the speed at which the ground around him became less stable and crumbled increased exponentially. His eyes were wide in fear as he realized that his life was in the greatest danger it had ever been in. His heart skipped a beat as the reality of what was happening finally sank in. And if he didn't get moving, he'd be a dead Pokémon for sure. And so, summoning all of the courage he could muster, he turned his head to take in all of his surroundings as quickly as he could. He eventually found what he was looking for: Jak and the Cubone, as well as the two Poochyena, had made it to a safe segment of rock that still seemed stable. If he could just make it to them, he would be okay.

As he watched an Absol also dashed across the stones and made its way closer to him. He did not have time to worry about that, though. He wasn't sure if the Absol would make it in time to save him. So he could only rely on himself. He took a deep breath...and pushed off with his feet. He dashed across the crumbling mountainside as quickly as he could, made much easier thanks to the now-pouring rain. A loud cracking sound occurred behind him, causing him to look back. And he saw the ground behind him starting to give way. His eyes widened fearfully again and he tried to double his efforts. He and the Absol were nearing each other...when something gave way beneath even his light weight. Before he knew it, Jet was falling. The Buizel reached out with his forepaws in a desperate attempt to latch onto something he could use. He managed to grab the stones in front of him, but it was only a matter of time before those gave way to the combined power of his weight and gravity.

He struggled as hard as he could to pull himself up, but his upper body strength was too minimal. He was incapable of pulling himself back onto the stone platform. He could only hope that either Jak, the Cubone or the Absol were close enough to help him. He cried out loudly in fear, calling out as loudly as he could for help, begging to be saved. The sheer desperation in his voice betrayed the huge amounts of pure terror that had suddenly accumulated....

Jak and the Cubone had just gotten to safety, as the chunk of land seemed to start sliding down the cliffside like an avalanche, but on a far greater scale. If there was such a scale...

At some point he saw the Buizel running towards the two. The absol racing towards him. However at some point the Buizel disappeared under the chaos that was ensuing. He didn't quite hear the Buizel's terrified screams as it fell.

"JET!!" he shouted as he went to bolt off after him, however the Cubone immediately stopped him by grabbing him. "I have to go after him!! LET ME GO!" he shouted at the Cubone.

Jak then broke free from the Cubone's grip and jumped onto the slab of land. At some point he lost track of where the absol was.

The absol then immediately appeared out of nowhere, right where he saw the Buizel disappear at. However it wasn't alone... It had the Buizel on its back. He then froze and realized why the Cubone tried to stop him. The land then immediately started to give under him. However at some point the Cubone had grabbed him and pulled him to safety. The absol still dashing from rock to rock as it crumbled. It was as if it was used to traversing across moving land that just seemed to crumble. Keeping on top of the moving mass and eventually coming up near the Charmeleon and Cubone. It then sensed an immediate danger as it quickly looked to the right. It shifted its head so the blade on top whipped around towards the direction of a large rock that had threaten to flatten them.

A dark beam of energy seemed to form in a blade like form as it whipped towards the boulder. Similar to how Jet's sonic boom had formed. Except it produced a dark energy that seemed to slice things.

The boulder shattered into many pieces as the blade came in contact with it as the absol made its way to safety with the Buizel on its back.

Jak came running over to the two pokemon. "Jet!" he shouted as he ran over to pick up the Buizel, "I can't lose another friend... I am so glad you are safe." he said as his voice half broke.

Jet struggled with the edge of the cliff, struggling with all of his might to pull himself back up and over. However, he did not have the physical strength to manage it. And at first, he was completely sure that he was about to die. Eventually, the stones that the Buizel was so desperately clinging to began to give way beneath his paws. His eyes widened in fear when he realized what was about to happen. "H-H-HELP ME, PLEASE...!" Jet cried out one last time in fear before his stone handholds finally gave out to his weight. He then started to fall through the air.

The Buizel opened his mouth to start screaming in terror as he plummeted toward the distant ground below. But before a sound could come out of his mouth, he landed firmly on top of something. "Wh...what...?" Jet murmured out of surprise. As it turned out, he was sitting on the back of a bright white Pokémon. Whoever this was, they had risked their own selves to catch him. And soon enough, the two of them were back on "solid" ground again, with the Absol carrying him on his back. He desperately clung to the stranger's fur as he rushed and leaped from foothold to foothold as they made their way to safety. That cold sense of fear returned again when he saw a boulder coming right at them...but it seemed the Pokémon was more than capable of handling that problem. The boulder was shattered with relative ease and Jet could only stare in amazement.

Soon enough, Jet found himself sliding off of the Absol's back and onto the more-than-welcome solid ground. He had nearly passed out from all of the near-death encounters thus far, so he was only vaguely aware as Jak stepped up to his side and picked him up again. It took him a moment of silence to actually be able to start his response. "J...Jak...?" he murmured, still feeling like he was standing on air. He smiled slightly. "I'm sorry...for worrying you like that. I-I suppose that I'm not a very good student for you."

Jak looked at the Buizel for a moment with a confused expression. "None of this is your fault... Don't be sorry. Just be happy we are all safe." he said with a smile on his face. He then turned towards the absol. "So... Is this why I kept seeing you follow us?" he said seemingly sure of himself.

The pokemon simply nodded once and only once... To show that it had sensed the disaster. "I see... Thank-you..." he said as he closed his eyes. "That could of ended badly if you were here... Thank-you." he said as he opened his eyes.

Jak then looked towards the two pups... He wondered how they were doing. However they seemed to just sit there staring at the mass of rock that was still sliding down the mountain. A look of worry on their faces...

The Buizel looked up at Jak, knowing that the Charmeleon did not blame him for what had happened. As such, Jak's words did not surprise him in the slightest. Still, he felt bad for not being able to take care of himself. The Charmeleon shouldn't have to worry so much about him...why was he really this weak and this incapable? He looked down, even as Jak turned to talk to the Absol. He only half-listened to the conversation, mind still focusing on his own situation. He had come out here to help himself get stronger and to try to get Jak's mind off of Fang. And yet here he was, only making things hard on him. Maybe it would be for the best if they just gave up their adventure now.

Jet looked back up as Jak and the Absol were finished. He saw Jak looking over at something on his opposite side, so he turned and followed the Charmeleon's gaze. And there they were...the two Poochyena puppies, sitting up and looking at the mass of rock. One of them even made a small, whining noise.

The first Poochyena, the one that had been barking at the Lairon before, suddenly got up and tried to gently clamp its jaws around the Cubone's arm. If he could do that, he would tug the Pokémon toward the rubble, as though he wanted him to do something.

And it was at that point that it occurred to Jet.

"...W-wait...where...are their parents?" he asked, looking over at Jak again.

Jak looked towards Jet as he asked where their parents were. "I didn't see any other pokemon there besides those bullies. What do you mean?" Jak asked in response to jets inquiry.

The cubone looked at the poochyena. "Hmm..." the Cubone seemed to be thinking for a moment after the pokemon attempted to tug on his arm. "I follow." he said as he let the pokemon pull him towards the rubble. Jak seemed to look at the Cubone for a moment as it let the poochyena pull him towards the rubble.

"You don't think..." he said with a slight frown as he looked towards Jet. After he said this he heard a howl in the distance.

Jet looked back at Jak. "Well...these are clearly puppy Pokémon, right?" Jet asked him. "Then...surely they're not out here by themselves, right? Not when there are wild massive, Steel-type Pokémon out here that can seriously hurt them." He then shook his head. "D-don't you think that it's a little but unlikely that their parents would just leave them out here on their own?"

At that point, he saw movement out of the corner of his eye. The Poochyena had come up to the Cubone, tugging on his arm. when the Cubone finally decided to follow, the two Poochyena nodded and started dashing forward and out across the rocks that remained from the giant rockslide. They did not seem to care about the potential dangers of what was to come. Instead, they focused solely on their destination...and they were determined to bring a Pokémon as strong as this Cubone with them.

Jet looked back at Jak again and shook his head. "I-I don't know," he replied. "But...whatever made that howl might need our help. A-and if it's who I think it is, we really need to get there and fast." He shook his head and turned toward the rocks, making his way onto them himself. If he was right, then he didn't want anything to happen to these Poochyena...

Jak thought for a moment. "Yea... we should go check it out." Jak stated as he followed the Buizel across the numerous rocks that had fallen in the area. Carefully stepping to each of the larger rocks as he made his way down the rocky mess towards the origin of the howl. Each little rock he stepped on, HAD to be sharp for some cursed reason. "ffft... These rocks are sharp!" he stated in annoyance as he continued to make his way across the rubble. "How you fairing?" he asked the Buizel as he jumped across a gap. He then just realized the gap he jumped was fairly long way down if he did fall. However, he had already made it across it. "Careful with your steps! There are holes!" he stated after making it across.

He wasn't quite sure what to expect when the reached the originator of the howl. Was someone injured and they were crying out? Where they calling for something? What could it have possibly been. He just hoped it wasn't hostile when they arrived.

As they had traveled across the mess, they eventually caught up to the cubone who seemed to be standing perfectly still on one of the boulders. "What's wr---" -shh- the pokemon interrupted Jak as it remained still. Jak looked ahead of the cubone to see the Mightyena glaring at the cubone. It then turned its head towards him as it growled viciously. "Je-jet... don't move..." he whispered behind him.

Jak looked around for a moment. Where are the pups? he thought. He didn't see them with the cubone... "Where did the pups go..." Jak whispered to the cubone. However, it didn't quite respond. Jak then noticed what was behind the mightyena... It was a second one... It seemed to be knocked out with some rocks over it. !!!! Jak froze in horror... Is... it dead? No its breathing... I think... its guarding the other mightyena... Are these those pups parents?... Jak thought as he remained still. Thoughts still racing within his head.

Unlike Jak, Jet seemed to be having absolutely no problems crossing the stones on the way to the opposite side of the ruins. He made his way across on all fours rather than on his two feet like usual. He was able to place his paws strategically and cautiously as he leaped from stone to stone, quickly arriving on the opposite side. He had soon made his way completely across and he actually found himself waiting for Jak to keep up with him instead. It was strange, moving across the land faster than the much more experienced and stronger Charmander for once. He was so used to always staring at the Fire-type Pokémon's back.... On his way across, however, he actually came across some interesting objects that must have fallen from the landscape above during the landslide, as they ended up mostly above the stones. Glints of blue gave away the locations of these four Orbs, identified as House and Spurn. He would have to figure out what to do with these later....

Eventually, the two arrived at where the Cubone stood, apparently waiting for them to come across before he himself continued. Jak was the first to say something, only to be interrupted as the Cubone silenced him with a quick syllable. Then Jak followed the gaze of the Cubone and froze himself. "Why?" he asked, not bothering to heed their advice. He had reached down to pick up another curious object from the ground, this one a Sitrus Berry. However, he was soon close enough to the two in order to actually see what was ahead of them. Then he stopped, pausing himself. Two Mightyena were ahead of them, one standing and the other apparently unconscious. the conscious one was standing there, growling at the three of them like he expected them to be dangerous.

Jet quickly scanned the area, identifying everything that there was in sight in a quick amount of time. The unconscious Mightyena must have been caught in the rock slide and the two pups were nowhere to be seen. This was a rather unnerving sight to behold, but something had to be done. They couldn't just sit here frozen all day. That Mightyena was not going to get any better under those stones. He immediately, but slowly raised his paws up in front of him to try to show the conscious Mightyena that he did not mean any harm. He tried to step around the Mightyena in an arc, not actually getting any closer, to see if he would get some kind of reaction. "E-easy...." Jet said as calmly as he could, trying not to let any of his fears come out in his voice. "I-I only want to help you...." Of course, if he got any kind of violent reaction, he would probably step back a bit and give them some extra room. But he certainly wasn't going to let the Mightyena just sit there.

The mightyena continued to growl as the buizel went around it in a circle. Jak still standing still as he watched the Buizel attempt to go around. What is he doing!? he thought to himself, worried that the canine might attack. However, that never happened... It only growled more at each step the Buizel made. The cubone however, seemed to put look at its bone and then back at the canine... It then took a step backwards. The canine glanced at him and then back at the still moving Buizel.

Jak then got an idea. He remembered this had worked on a wild pokemon before to show he was friendly. He then went into his bag looking for some kind of food that would be easily recognized by pokemon in the wild. He then spotted an extra oran berry in his bag. He slowly took it out and showed the pokemon it. It continued to growl as he bent down. He then rolled the item towards the pokemon, only making it about halfway between the two.

Its growling stopped as the item did also. "We mean no harm." he stated as it stopped. The pokemon then remained silent for a while. Continuing to stare at the group. It eventually laid down next to the downed canine. Jak sighing with relief... He knew that if a pokemon like this was caught in a situation where it couldn't run... They would fight viciously... Protecting someone would possibly have the same effect.

The Buizel reached back and attempted to pull a berry out of his explorer's bag, despite the Mightyena's constant growling. But he was stopped. Not physically...but he saw something that made him stop. Jak had pulled out an Oran Berry and taken it out, showing it to the two Pokémon. His eyes widened slightly when he saw this. That was exactly the same thing he had planned to do. He had just wanted to get to the side so that he could avoid facing them head-on as though he were ready to confront them directly. However, it seemed that the situation had been diffused by now, so his own berry was not necessary. He replaced it for now back into his bag and looked at his surroundings.

"Th-those pups came this way, didn't they...?" Jet asked, looking up at the Cubone. "With you, I mean. Wh-where did they...?" He trailed off there, looking around once more for the Poochyena they had followed here. He figured that the Cubone understood his question either way.
