Toxic Travel

In the poisonous flatlands of the Venom Gulch, a lone Gligar could be seen treading through the area. He was currently on his way to the nearest town he could find, wanting to find a place to relax for a little bit. "This place doesn't seem so inviting, especially with all this smog around here. Not sure if I should be stick around here too much longer. Guess I should try the faster way out." Scorpio said as he prepared to take flight, knowing that flying would get him traveling much faster. As he soared into the air, the Gligar could see how far the smog seemed to go, a near endless stretch of poison. Scorpio didn't have much time to think on this matter however as he soon found himself loosing balance and falling back towards the ground. "Oh no, I thought I had it this time!" He said before landing face first on the ground, a loud thud being heard upon impact. "Ouch...stupid clumsiness."

As the gligar had been flying about, a small rabbit like pokemon made his way through the dungeon not too far from the gligar's crash landing. In fact, he was so "not too far" that he was right in front of the gligar.
"Watch it bud!" Zephyr growled, his mouth half full from eating an oran berry that was given to him by some explorer from Ailreon he had met on his way to here, not too happy about nearly being crushed. The nidoran's sonar ears were up and ready to catch any sign of aggressive acts by the gligar. He had no idea what this strange pokemon was, but it had crashed right next to him in what could have been a failed attack rather than a simple mistake. The nidoran huffed, sitting on his haunches and waiting for an apology or something to show whether it was friend or foe.

As he was getting up from his fall, Scorpio saw that he nearly crashed into another Pokemon. It seemed to be a Nidoran from it's purple skin and short stature. This had happened many times in the past, a short flight turning into a crash landing on someone else. Thankfully, he didn't hit him, but anyone would be angry at almost getting slammed like that. "Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to almost crash into you, I'm just really clumsy when I fly...or do most things. You just happened to be near where I crashed." He said bluntly, feeling a little embarrassed from his display. Only the Pokemon in his vvillage knew about his clumsiness, so this wasn't the best start to his clean slate.

Well this pokemon did not seem to be attempting to be attacking, so Zephyr guessed that he was friendly. The Nidoran huffed, "You trying to practice flying or something? Might want to go somewhere else to try that rather than someplace with so much smog in the air you could hardly see your nose in front of you," he returned to his four legs, his bad leg beginning to whine and complain with weariness. He cursed under his breath, hating the tyrantrum that had caused this wound. One day though, he would go back and give that old man a taste of his own medicine, make him regret kicking him out.

"Well, not necessarily practice flying. I know how to fly, I'm just not that great at it. I'm just trying to get out of this place fast and get to the nearest town. " He said truthfully, feeling a bit angry that his clumsiness had to kick in so quickly. Honestly, Scorpio didn't really know how he ended up in this gulch. He was just trying to get to a town to rest for a bit but ended up in this poisonous place. At the very least, the Nidoran didn't seem to have any harsh feelings towards him. Though it did seem like something was wrong with him. "Um, hey is something wrong?"

"No," the nidoran lied, keeping his pride and ignoring the old wound, "i'm find, something wrong with you?" he turned the conversation back to the gligar. He was too prideful to admit that his old wound was bothering him. The pokemon looked to the gligar, awaiting an answer but not really caring if he was injured or not. He was a man, he should be able to suck it up just like him! The Nidoran had a sense of superiority over the gligar, due to his rather ditzy introduction and first impression. Zephyr huffed, waiting for a response.

"No, I was just wondering. It seemed like there was something wrong, like you were hurt or something." Scorpio said, honestly worried about the Nidoran. He had a feeling that there was an issue, but this Pokemon either didn't have one or was hiding it. Feeling as if trying to find a potentially nonexistent problem would only cause trouble, Scorpio decided to leave it alone for now. "Well, if nothing is wrong, I'll just be going then." He said, turning around only to see a large group of Pokemon coming towards the two. "Well, this complicates things..."

Two Croagunk, Two Venipede, and Two Nidorina had approached the two, not seeming to be happy. Zephyr huffed at the Nidorina, "Hmph, what do you ladies want?" he spoke, "Shouldn't you be back at the den?"

The nidorina snarled, and the two venipede's antennae raised in anger while the croagunks kept a straight face. One of the nidorina stood, "You're on our turf, get lost!"

"Oh, YOU'RE turf?" The Nidoran laughed, "You're women, surely you mean your men's turf," he looked to the others as if he had made a funny joke, but none of them seemed to be laughing. He blinked, "What?", he spoke, confused as to why the wild pokemon did not seem too happy.

((SEXIST PRICK STRIKES AGAIN))

Scorpio got a bit worried when he heard the Poison Types begin to bicker, seeing the negative expressions on their faces. Feeling that this could lead to a fight, he felt like he needed to step in. "Um, maybe we should all calm down or something. Fighting or arguing won't help anybody, so there's no point in it." He said to both the Nidoran and the other Wild Pokemon. Hopefully, what he said hadn't angered one of them, wanting to avoid that with his words.

The nidoran looked to the gligar, "Of course fighting helps! Defeating the weak and surviving the strong all contribute to your own strength, if you wanna get strong, you have to fight!" Zephyr huffed. It seemed however, that a Nidorina had enough of the male counterpart's words, as one of them bellowed, before charging straight for the nidoran and the gligar, the rest of the group hung back. They believed that the nidorina would be able to handle this. Zephyr was tackled by the Nidorina, giving a sharp squeak of surprise as he had not expected the attack, causing the nidorina turned to attack the gligar.

"But still..." Scorpio said, trying to find a way out of this. Though he couldn't exactly say the Nidoran's words were false, as battling is the best way to get stronger. A battle with no other reason other then anger however doesn't do anything but hurt anyone involved, or at least that's what he thought. Before the Gligar could think into this more deeply, the Nidorina charged towards the two, tackling the Nidoran and then heading towards him. "I wanted to avoid this...but I have no choice." Scorpio said before his claws slashed at the ground, using Sand Attack to send a small wave of sand towards the enraged Nidorina. He used his only non damaging move, hoping it could distract her enough so that he could get himself and the Nidoran out of there.

The nidorina screeched in rage as she felt the burning sensation of sand in her eyes. She rubbed her arm against her eyes, blinded as she tried to run away from the gligar before he could be that menace that throws even more sand at her while she's suffering the consequences of having a little bit of sand in her eyes.
Zephyr, meanwhile, had taken quite the hit from the Nidorina. His head felt dizzy, and he could hardly think straight. What had hit him? An anvil? A tree? He forced himself back onto his feet, standing on his hind legs so he could rub his head with his hands. It seemed as if there was more pokemon around than before, since when was there two gligars? He blinked, trying to fix his case of double vision, as he was completely vulnerable to another attack.

Scorpio could feel a drop of sweat roll down his face once he saw the Nidorina's reaction to his Sand Attack. He thought that the none damaging move would just distract the poison type, not do this. "Oh no, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to make your eyes start burning or blind you like that...I just wanted to stop the fighting." Scorpio said, trying to explain himself and hopefully get the apologies of the other poison types with the Nidorina. The Gligar then remembered the Nidoran had gotten his and ran over to see if he was okay. "Hey, are you okay? You took a hit there, you in pain anywhere?" He asked, hoping he wasn't hurt too much.

"Why are there three of you? Do you know double team or something?" Came the Nidoran's intelligent answer. He blinked, wavering slightly as he stood as his dizziness continued to plague him. It was, however, slowly going away. Unluckily for the duo, the other Nidorina did not seem to take too kindly to the gligar's Sand-Attack to her friend, whether he meant to harm the other or not. She growled at the two as she neared them, approaching slowly and cautiously, careful that the gligar might attempt yet another Sand Attack, while the others simply stood back to watch the show.

"Double Team? No, I don't have that move. No idea how to do something like that..." Scorpio said, confused about what the Nidoran said about multiples of him. The Gligar thought that there may be more wrong with him than he originally thought. But that matter had to be pushed to the side for now, as the Nidorina from before was coming back, even madder then before. "Wait, stop! This is just a big misunderstanting. I didn't mean to hurt you, and this Nidoran didn't mean to insult you, I swear." Scorpio said, a worried look on his face, not sure if he could avoid fighting now.
