| Varda felt bad when the other Pokémon forced himself on his two feet and flying to the entrance, knowing that the Aerodactyl was tired and injured. He shouldn't be moving, but once he had saved the bird and was forced to do just that... And now he was doing it again. Perhaps he didn't believe that the Swablu's concern was something unless he confirmed it. And he couldn't even get his new friend that Oran berry he wanted...
"Oh," the bird Pokémon cooed and looked down a bit saddened when the Aerodactyl did not want to fight... Three feral Pokémon, was it? Tyrunt, like he called them? He had only seen two, perhaps another one was behind a corner. And of course, Varda was sad that he couldn't be of use. His newest friend thought so, so he felt like it was the truth.
But the Aerodactyl had a plan! Hiding would be a good idea, and the bird quickly scurried deeper into the cave, waiting for his friend to come. It was easy for something so small as himself to hide, but the other Pokémon was a lot bigger. Luckily, his coloring might have helped blending in the cave! Varda squeezed his body into a tiny hole and peeked outside, trying to let the shadows hide his form.
The heavy footsteps approached from outside. Two dinosaur Pokémon walked with a slow but assertive pace, with a third one following them behind. Their faces twisted and turned as they looked around, their nostrils flared as they sniffed the air with noisy grunts before continuing past the cave entrance. The Swablu sighed a breath of relief and was about to leave his little hideyhole before another, different set of footsteps forced him to scurry back. A strange slapping sound as something lighter hit the rocky terrain, a crested bipedal lizard peered into the cave. Varda's heart almost felt like it was about to stop when the Pokémon started to walk inside...

| Pterra flew into the dark corners of the back of the cave, concealing himself amid the darkness of the cavern. He suspected, though, that his dyed patterns would draw attention to himself and so made sure he was far from his companion. It would suck to draw attention to both of them, when currently the small pokemon was his only ally in this barren mountain range. Surprisingly, when he found a hiding place in the cave, there was three seeds piled up together; seeds he recognized as two life seeds and a reviver seed. He scooped the seeds into his bag.
Pterra watched as the three Tyrunt slowly made their way past the cave entrance, and narrowed his eyes. Surely they had smelled the swablu? Perhaps they just weren't hungry? Pterra prepared himself to step out of his hiding place, only to stop himself as another figure appeared at the entrance to the cave -a Scrafty.
Pterra resisted the growl that rose in his throat. Scrafty and Scraggy were pokemon that Pterra could not stand. Though an outlaw himself, even Pterra gave his victims fair chance to defend themselves -heck, he generally avoided hurting any pokemon as it was, preferring to manipulate and charm his way into thieving from them. But Scrafty? Scrafty liked to set up ambushes and beat helpless pokemon into a pulp for no reason other than because they found joy in causing violence.
The more Pterra thought about it, the angrier he got. He glared at the silhouette in the cave's entrance as it paused there, looking around. It took a few more steps into the cave, and Pterra literally had to stop himself from launching himself at the pokemon -there was no telling if the three Tyrunt were gone, or even if they might be part of the Scrafty's gang.

| Varda tried to squeeze himself deeper into the little hole, his pudgy back against the rocky wall as he was squished into a lightly smaller form. The lizard Pokémon walked deeper into the cave, looking around as if it was searching for something, its eyes scanning the surroundings in a manner that actually seemed quite sharp despite the scraggly appearance. The bird's heart was beating fast as he forced himself to be still and quiet, but even his own breathing sounded awfully loud to his own ears in this situation. He was certain he would be found out, it even felt like the other Pokémon was staring right at him...
The Swablu glanced in the Aerodactyl's direction to see what he was doing, worried and even a bit scared. Despite his large body, the shadows did a rather good job at hiding him and the only reason the bird knew where his friend went was because he knew where to look. But the Aerodactyl wasn't making a move. He was quiet, he didn't jump from the shadows to attack the Pokémon that was coming dangerously close to the two... But luckily, the lizard with the baggy pants eventually gave up and turned around, starting to walk out of the cave. That was when Varda noticed that the Pokémon had a bag.
A bag... With a familiar badge on it, the kind that was similar to his own – though his was inside his bag rather than out in the open. The lizard was an explorer from a Guild just like him! At first the Swablu was about to call out, feeling a bit silly about having been so afraid of a fellow Guild member... But then he looked at the Aerodactyl. Did he see the Guild badge too, he wondered? Would he make the first move? He was injured and Guild members often helped others out, it was their whole job! But then, a horrible thought managed to enter the bird's mind.
What if this Pokémon actually was a bad guy and he had beaten someone from the Guild, taking their bag along with the badge!

| As the Scrafty turned away, Pterra noticed the Explorer Badge peeking out of its bag, and a growl escaped the outlaw. He hated explorers; they were always trying to ruin his fun! Plus, they were always really arrogant, believing that only they were in the right; and that Pterra was a "bad guy" or some such crap. Pterra merely took care of himself in the way that he knew how. He snarled under his breath. If this Scrafty was an explorer... well, he would be better off if he left the cave, because Pterra was this close to just attacking him, regardless of any consequences that might happen. | |

| Varda's eyes kept flicking from the potential explorer to the hiding Aerodactyl, conflicted as to what he should be doing as a fellow Guild member himself. The two-legged lizard seemed to stop for a moment as it seemed to hear something, letting its gaze scan the cave one last, agonizingly slow time before it seemed to give up and shuffle back outside, into the sun. The Swablu still stayed in his little hole, hiding quietly. He was worried that the Pokémon outside could hear them if they moved or maybe they would look back...
But no one came back. It seemed like the sound of the footsteps was getting further away before they disappeared into nothing. It was so... Silent, but the bird could still hear his own heartbeat and breathing. After a moment of trying to calm himself down, Varda squeezed out of the hole and ruffled his feathers a bit as he tried to shake off the dirt. "That was spooky..."

| Pterra scoffed at the swablu's words. "I wouldn't describe that as 'spooky," he disagreed. "More like... annoying that one as great as myself should have to hide in a cave like some quivering purrloin. But it was smarter than trying to take on four pokemon at once, I suppose," he grumbled. "In any case, I suggest we leave this cave for the interim. It's too easy to get trapped in a cave without a back exit, and I don't want to have to hide again." He eyed the Swablu thoughtfully. "Can you fly on those tiny wings of yours? Or are they even wings? They look more like puffs of down or some such nonsense," he snorted derisively, figuring that the swablu was too dumb to figure out that he was insulting the little bird. | |

| Varda tilted his head, but he was still smiling. A little disagreement didn't bother him one bit! At least he was feeling very tense and nervous during that little moment, afraid of being found. It just made his heart race... But it seemed like this Aerodactyl wasn't feeling the same. "Oh, you sound brave!" The little bird chirped in awe as he bounced a couple of times in his happiness. What a great new friend this other Pokémon was proving to be!
But the Aerodactyl wanted to leave. He figured that it made sense, but... Should the injured Pokémon be moving? It was a question of his, but before he got to ask about it or express his worry – his beak already open as he had been prepared to speak up – the Aerodactyl asked him a question about his wing. He closed his mouth and smiled, giving his newest friend a big nod. "Thank you! They are very soft and warm," Varda almost seemed a bit bashful, but he did like the compliments. He quite did like his own wings, too!
"They are real wings. I can fly," the bird added, almost seeming a bit proud of the fact even though he was a bird Pokémon and flight probably wasn't that big of a stretch. And he was quite old... Though, others rarely picked up on that fact considering his size and nature. As a demonstration, the Swablu opened his wings and jumped in the air, flapping hard enough to stay airborne. "See!"

| Pterra rolled his eyes at the swablu's demonstration. "Yeah, I see," he replied dryly. "Let's just get out of here before another group of pokemon trap us in the cave. Since you can indeed fly, we'll be taking the aerial route, as that is sure to be much faster, and keeps us relatively safer from enemy pokemon, as most pokemon around these parts are grounded rather than fliers. Course, the enemies that do take to the skies tend to be pretty powerful, but I'm sure I'm tougher than all of them put together," he boasted, launching himself into the air with powerful swoops of his wings and soaring out of the cave and into the sunlight. | |

| Varda landed back on the cavern's floor safely and smiled so happily as his newest friend understood his flight capabilities. Sometimes it felt pretty good to show off a little, especially when there was a good reason for it! The Aerodactyl already seemed to have a plan ready, and the bird liked plans that were made for him so he could follow. It was a good plan, a plan that made sense considering how dangerous the area around this little cave was... But there was one thing that seemed like it might be a problem.
The Swablu didn't waste any time following the bigger Pokémon's lead however, getting on his wings like the Aerodactyl... Well, right after the powerful gusts of wind created by his wings stopped pushing the little bird backwards, unable to fight the currents with his light weight. He quickly hurried after his friend and flew out of the cave, onto the sky. "Oh but, you're injured, sir! Do you think you should be flying...?"

| Varda flew after the bigger Pokémon, having to work hard to keep up with the strong flaps, being so much smaller and slower. The Aerodactyl claimed to be fine... And well, while the bird was certain that he wasn't in the best shape currently as he could see the wounds, he was willing to believe him. After all, Sitrus berries were really good! "Oh, I don't know! I don't think I like pain," the Swablu chirped to the other Pokémon's remarks about pain and what it could do... But he wasn't sure about that. Perhaps the Aerodactyl was right, though! "Sitrus berries are amazing, though. I should have one myself, too," he added with a giggle, agreeing that the berries were great. He was getting a bit hungry...
This was a moment when the bird realized he rarely talked to Pokémon that could fly. It was strange, something so natural to him wasn't something others were able to do, so they never really talked about the power of flight... And here he was, talking to an Aerodactyl! There was a strange kind of kinship Varda felt. "It is pretty fun! Though um, I'm not the best flier," the Swablu cooed, not mimicking the other Pokémon's graceful movements in the air as he just concentrated on following, "I also like it when the sun is shining, you have a soft surface under you, and you can just roll on your back and enjoy the warmth!"

| Energy: 15 - 5 + 7 = 17 Pterra rolled his eyes at the swablu -he seemed to be doing that a lot lately. He sighed from the clear idiocy of his companion. But still, the more idiotic, the more he could take advantage of the helpless little thing. "Yeah, warmth," He muttered to appease the swablu. It then occurred to him that he had never introduced his glorious name to his companion. "Hmm. I never did introduce myself, did I?" He hummed. "I am Pterra -the Terror of the Skies and Lurker of the Black Mist Mountain." He announced pridefully, showing off once more as he spiraled and then dove before rising back up theatrically. He noticed out of the corner of his eye another Tyrunt down below, but dismissed it as unimportant, as the two flying types were higher than it could reach. - Silver carried out 5 launched of one Black Spear Mountain :

| Varda seemed happy when the other Pokémon agreed with him about the warmth, his smile pushing up his pudgy cheeks to make it seem like his eyes were smiling, too. The wind wasn't the most pleasant one when they were so high up, rather strong and cold as it quite mercilessly tossed the bird's head feathers around... But he could deal with it, especially in this company. The Aerodactyl was right when he reminded the Swablu that the two never quite did introduce themselves in the middle of all the chaos! He hadn't even thought how weird it was that he didn't have a name he could call this Pokémon with! His newest friend introduced himself and Varda kept flying by his side. "Oh, that's a long name! Can I just call you Pterra or do you have another nickname?" He chirped happily with a little chirpy giggle at the end, "My name is Varda! It's nice to meet you! ...Again!"- Bird carried out 1 launched of one Black Spear Mountain :

Pterra rolled his eyes. "No, no, you misunderstood. Those other things are my titles, not my actual name. My name is just Pterra." he shook his head in derision. Why was he hanging out with a pokemon that was so clearly touched in the head, anyway? He eyed the smaller pokemon, wondering for a moment if perhaps it had been dropped on its head at birth, or if all members of the swablu species were as empty-headed as this ... Varda.

| "Ohh," Varda chirped as if he understood everything now with the other Pokémon's explanation. Yes, that would have been a pretty long and strange name, but he didn't want to judge... "That makes sense! Hello, Pterra," the little bird added happily, not at all worried by his mistake. It didn't seem like he even thought it was a stupid mistake. He kept flying by the Aerodactyl's side with a big smile on his face, so happy to have made a new friend. "Oh, where are we flying? Do you have some place in mind?" The Swablu suddenly broke the silence as he realized that he had just been following Pterra around without really thinking where they were headed.
