Draconia: A Dragon Roleplay (Sign-Up)

Welcome to Draconia, a land filled with dragons of all shapes and sizes. You are an adolescent dragon just starting out in the world. You have just reached your 100th birthday and the time has come for you to leave the Hatchling Perch of your tribe and make it by yourself. You've spent the last 100 years learning everything you need to take care of yourself as a dragon: flying, hunting, the magics of your tribe, and how to stay away from humans at all costs. Now you must choose your own personal name or keep your hatchling name and leave the Perch to explore the vivid land around you. If you would prefer to create your own dragon you can, but you must have a picture and the dragon style must match the dragons already pictured. If you aren't sure about a picture, just ask me and I'll tell you if it's ok. The choice is yours!

Now that you’ve chosen your dragon I suppose you’ll want to know a little about the Tribe you were born into. There are 6 Tribes of dragons, as you have no doubt noticed already: Wind, Thunder, Oceanic, Earth, Ice, and Poison. All tribes have the typical seven limbs (two wings, tail, and four legs) and all can breathe deadly fire, though an Ice dragon has cold fire rather than hot fire.  Each Tribe of dragons have come to dominate the element that they were named after.

It’s a well-known fact, for example, that wind dragons are the best fliers, because of their complete control of the air and wind currents around them. Wind dragons have created homes out of clouds, using their control to create solid clouds rather than the wispy collections of water vapor.

It is equally well-known that oceanic dragons are the best swimmers, especially with their unique ability to breathe underwater. They create large underwater cities from coral beds and ancient underwater volcanic arcs.

Thunder dragons have control over lightning and can summon storms, as one might expect. They live atop high rocky mountain tops, where they are the closest to the storms that they love. Older thunder dragons have taken to trying to harness the energy from lightning to powering their own bodies, literally swallowing whole lightning bolts.

Ice dragons are pretty self-explanatory as well, having control over ice. They create magnificent ice sculptures and awe-inspiring ice castles in the highest mountains where the ice never melts.

Earth dragons have the hottest fire and have a literal taste for gems and gold –they eat them by the ton, as the metals and ores mix into their body to create their nearly-impenetrable scales. They also have control over the soil and rocks, able to lift them into the air to throw them at enemies or create impressive castles from the minerals of the earth.

Poison dragons are unique in that every part of them is made of deadly poison. Their blood and even the fumes they exhale from breathing is purely lethal poison. The lands they reside in have evolved to survive the deadly conditions and are nearly as deadly as the poison dragons themselves. The majority of their lands are poisonous swamps, with lizards and other reptiles and amphibians dominating the animals that live there.

So now that we've gotten that stuff out of the way, let's get some rules down in here. (Don't groan, you knew it was coming.)

Name/New Name: Onyx
Gender: Male
Personality: Onyx is arrogant and cocky to the point of being downright irritating, but he doesn't seem to notice this. He will go on and on about how great he is to anyone in earshot, regardless of their feelings in the matter. Unfortunately he also has the mastery of poison and strength to back up his arrogant words, so even when other poison dragon hatchlings challenged him, he would dominate them. Despite this arrogant, irritating exterior, he is secretly a big softy. When no one is around, he likes to look at the stars in the sky and make up stories about the constellations, and, ironically, he is a vegetarian. He looks at an animal's eyes and just can't bring himself to kill anything, and so keeps his bulk by devouring plants.

Gender: Female
Personality: Shiva has always been a kind spirit always looking after others. She almost never tries to talk over others and normally remains quiet unless she needs to speak. Though she remains quiet when she gets mad you would want to stay away from her. As she gets mad her normal nice nature changes into a type of fiery rage in which she will most likely point out all flaws one has. You'd do best to run from her.[/b]

Name/New Name: Rivus
Gender: Male
Personality: A very kind and openhearted dragon who always tries to make as many friends as possible, something that is made a bit more difficult by having what appears to be the second most destructive element as well as a rather intimidating appearance, both of which he is not proud of. Often he even got made fun of as he frequently tried to befriend his "food". His preferred way of "hunting" is to step into a larger pool of water and wait for the electrocuted fish to float to the surface.

Name/New Name: Cerice
Gender: Female
Personality: Cerice is a shy dragon, who normally feels uncomfortable participating in things with other dragons. She normally fades in the background, barely noticed by others. But if you befriend her, she will open up to you. She is actually very caring, and perceptive of her surroundings. She is loyal to her friends, never leaving them when they need her.

Name/New Name: Aeolus
Gender: Male
Personality: Pride and confidence are matched only by his unwavering indifference to others around him. Aeolus is never surprised, never caught off guard and rarely shows emotion of any kind. Strong and quiet, he speaks only when required and concisely. When he speaks, others tend to listen, but he is not a leader. Aeolus is an adviser by nature, and holds firmly to tradition and the ways of the ancestors. As such, he is repulsed by the idea of breeding with other dragon clans and expresses superiority over any who would dare break tradition. To those who know him well however, he is fiercely loyal and will defend the weak, as he feels it is his duty to do so.

Name/New Name: HELLS NO, I'M NOT GIVING HIM A NEW NAME |D
Gender: Male
Personality: Spike is sarcastic and witty, always making puns of another's problem, or just being smart. But what he has in sarcasm, he makes up for by being helpful and supportive. He's also very generous, but pretty defensive about many things, too. Spike really loves to have some fun every once in a while, otherwise known as every other day.

Name/New Name: Leviathan
Gender: Male
Personality:
Leviathan is and has always been notoriously intimidating among his peers. He’s a giant hulking mass of scales, complete with fin-like appendages on his limbs that can propel him to the ocean deeps with ease. What holds him back from exploiting this power to its fullest, however, is his own complacency. Leviathan, for all the potential he holds, finds himself abiding his emotions more than necessary. He values freedom and beauty above responsibility and tradition; an open mind with the desire to witness all the uniqueness life has to offer, no matter if it violates ethnic codes. He wishes to travel and gaze upon all wonders, believing that his curiosity will be the key to finding his true purpose. A gentle giant, one could describe him to be, but that would be naïve. Leviathan is not without his faults.

While he may hold an optimistic view, this makes him rather gullible, and he isn’t a forgiving one either. Fool him once, shame on you; fool him twice, and that would be quite a feat since he provides no second chances. He does his best to uphold humility but is still as vulnerable to his own pride and stubborn attitude as anyone else. He hates being prevented from fulfilling his desires and isn't against fighting if it means turning things to his favor. He can hold grudges, manipulate, and show aggression when he finds things too restricting.

His carelessness and lack of restraint can make him a handful to manage, especially as friends, but he is still decent company nonetheless. He is a listener with a thirst for stories, and does find trust to be an invaluable thing. He protects those he deems worthy and will do all in his power to lift them from despair and turmoil.

Name/New Name: Sirius (Ironic, considering his colouration)
Gender: Male
Personality: The best way to describe Sirius on the surface would be quiet and I guess somewhat shy, he rarely ever speaks up on his own accord about problems or the current scenario, and he always seems to try and stay away from others when and where possible due to not wanting to be both a focus of discussion or involved with other people in general, a somewhat easier feat than one'd think considering his skills in flight. That's how he acts on the surface anyway, deep down he's a kind, dependable guy who'd do whatever he could to provide help to his friends, within reason of course.
