Drakon Academy [RP] - Page 4 Empty
PostSubject: Drakon Academy [RP]   Drakon Academy [RP] - Page 4 EmptySun Dec 21, 2014 11:10 pm

First topic message reminder :

The squawk of the seagulls and the modest crash of the waves sounded in the ears of the man as he stood upon a dock. It was not an actual dock for ships though, as it split into quite a few helicopter pads. He stood alone at the only way to land from the docks, waiting for the arrival of the awaited. The sky around the island was dark with clouds, and it seemed almost as if harsh weather was going to begin around the island soon. The island itself, however had crystal clear skies with a bright and shining sun happily bestowing its light to the intricate structures of the academy below it.

The lonesome man reached into a pocket on his shirt, pulling out a golden pocket watch with an intricate design of two dragons seemingly chasing each other in a tight circle while grabbing each other's tail with their teeth, and a pearl in the middle. The pocketwatch was clicked shut and placed back into his pocket, as he heard the whirl of helicopter blades drawing near. He looked up to see the dark and sleek machines slowly lowering themselves to their assigned helipad, giving the students inside to obtain a look of the beautiful academy that shined as it seemed to take in the rays of the sun above.

Blades of the helicopters came to a halt, and the doors slid open as the students were ushered out of the helicopters and into a big group near the man that had waited so patiently for their arrival. He smiled warmly and welcoming, before he spoke, "Welcome Students, what you have set foot on, is where you shall stay for the next few years of your life. This is the place, where you will learn to fight, fly, feed, and care for, the very beast that has chosen you as its keeper. I'm sure you know very well, that this beast I speak of, is known as a Dragon."

"I, am Damien Shoals, but you shall address me as Mr. Shoals. Now, follow me, for your first day shall be a tour of the academy." The man turned without giving a chance for questions and began to walk towards the large front doors of the academy. Everything within the academy walls, seemed over sized, if one was good at the art of giving an educated guess, one would assume that it is due to the vast size of dragons. The high ceiling would allow dragons to walk through the school grounds with their masters, and allow smaller ones to fly over the heads of humans so to perform errands. That educated guess, would be correct, as Mr. Shoals explained the reasoning of the size to the students.

"Now, where we are right now, is the Central Hall, there are four wings to Drakon Academy, West, East, North, and South. Each wing is assigned a certain overall subject, but each has a large variety of classes within. The North Wing is Flight, South is Combat, East is Care and Incubation Rooms, and West is anything that doesn't quite fit the bill for anything else, such as Lunch Rooms, Libraries, and Dorms," Mr. Shoals paused, noticing that some of the students seemed to be looking around nervously, perhaps unnerved at how the halls seemed to be empty, and nobody but them was even around, not even any dragons.

"Now, now, don't get uneasy, class is just in session. Its required that every class stays indoors on Touring Day so as to not frighten you or if anything goes a bit...wrong. Wouldn't want you dying on your first day now would you?" Mr. Shoals turned quickly once more, not giving time for a reaction as he continued on. He brought the students through the school, showing them the entirety of the school, but the students had still yet to see any dragons.

Towards the end of the grand tour when he was showing them an extravagant garden the school owned to allow students a place to relax, one student seemed to be getting sick of not seeing a dragon, and shouted, "I want to see a dragon! What kind of academy is this if there's no Dragons!?"

Mr.Shoals suddenly stopped walking, slowly turning his head towards the interrupting and rather rude student, "So you want to see a dragon, eh?" he responded with a smile. The student flinched at the creepy smirk, but nodded. Out of nowhere, several sudden screeches sounded from atop a bell tower like structure that stood the tallest out of every building of the school. The pitched screeches caused everyone but Mr.Shoals to cover their ears and prevent them from bleeding.

When the rude student finally looked up to the source, he screamed in terror as a large beast  with wide wings and strange antlers upon its head loomed over him in the air and plucked him out of the crowd and pulled him into the skies. The beast was dark with brown splashes and two large red eye looking circles on its wings with its wings going all down its tail. The beast seemed to be accompanied with several others just like it, but smaller. The boy screamed in terror while the dragons screeched with joy, tossing the boy between each other as if he were some plaything.

The dragons gave a rather beautiful display of flight while toying about, making long elegant turns and some quick snaps, swoops, and dives alike. Mr. Shoals waited while the boy was toyed with, until he at least made a loud clicking noise. The largest dragon hesitated in its flight as it heard the noise, and processed the order. It retrieved the boy from the other Howler Drakes, and dropped the boy into a nearby tree, causing him to fall out and curl into a ball, completely pale from fear for his life but his eyes wide with amazement.

The smaller Howlers seemed to fly to the other side of the school, disappearing from sight, while the largest landed behind Mr. Shoals, standing tall with its brilliant antlers and flaring out its wings behind him and giving a loud bellow as a finale for its performance.

"Satisfied?" he asked.

The boy nodded slowly.

"Any questions?" Mr. Shoals finally asked.

Drakon Academy [RP] - Page 4 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Drakon Academy [RP]   Drakon Academy [RP] - Page 4 EmptyFri Jan 02, 2015 9:19 pm

After taking some time to think about what the headmaster had said before, Morgan finally came to the conclusion that it had been in the West Wing, not the North. North was something else. Looking around the room, he blinked, realizing that he was one of the last to leave. Not wasting another second, he stepped away and headed out of the room, making his way through the grounds and to the library.

Heading inside during the aftermath of the earlier situation there, he looked around the big library with interest, smiling to himself. It seemed like there was a ton of material to read, be it about his dragon, or just about other things he didn't necessarily need to know. Busy looking around at the surroundings as he stepped in, a loud squawk caught his attention as he jumped slightly, looking down at the smaller sized dragon. It was strange, he had been used to seeing huge ones, he had never really stopped to consider that there could be plenty of smaller ones as well.
"Huh? What-" As he asked, the boy looked down at the ground only a few steps ahead, quickly taking a step back.
"Oh! Oh, that, uh, that would explain it..." He muttered, still surprised at seeing the dead hatchling on the floor. Whatever had happened there, he had no idea what it was, and he didn't really want to ask around for it. If the pygmy hadn't gotten his attention, he probably would have stepped in it.

"Well, thanks, I guess." Morgan stepped around the hatchling, not wanting to look at it for too long as he peered at the bookcases. On a closer look, it seemed like the smaller dragons were helping out with finding the books, so he turned back to the pygmy from before.
"Hey, know where I can find a book on a Falconiform Wyvern?" He decided to take a shot and ask. Maybe he could get used to the smaller creatures, they weren't as threatening as the bigger kinds.

The pygmy gave a chirp of acknowledgement, coming back with a neat and new looking book that was completely dark except for a neon blue trim, the colors of the falconiform Wyvern. When opened, the book read, ""Falconiform Wyverns are normally shy creatures. However, when approached, they often feel threatened, and the flames along their bodies leap higher. Females tend to be smaller than males, though Falconiform Wyverns are typically rather large overall. They use their size to their advantage by hunting smaller dragons. The Falconiform’s graceful, swooping dives are said to resemble birds of prey. Falconiforms are largely solitary dragons that only meet in order to breed," and other sort of things.

The nilla pygmy Hunter had been talking to gave a squeak, looking at hunter questioningly. It flew off and returned with a book. It opened up the book and pointed to some dialogue the character had been saying within, "Are you okay? Do you need to see a health inspector?"

The pygmy seemed to be different from other pygmies, it seemed much smaller than the ordinary pygmies but its wings and body seemed to bear scars of combat. The body also seemed to have darker blue stripes along the back, and the eyes of perhaps a more intelligent creature?

The Seawyrm gave a flip at the sound of being thanked, and began to curl around Karis's arm and read the book as well over her shoulder. Kyrie soon approached Karis once more, having caught up after Karis ran off from the dead hatchling. The girl grew near and spoke, "I-I see you finally got to pet a dragon rather quickly."

Hunter had his arm's crossed and mind in slightly deep thought. He just saw something dead this was seriously messed up who would do that to a poor creature. He noticed the small slightly familiar chirp and looked up to see the same small Dragon he was talking to. At least he thought it was but he still wasn't sure until it flew away and came back holding a book.

Hunter looked at the words the Dragon had pointed to and assumed what he meant by it. "No I'm fine I assure you, just a little shaken up I suppose" Hunter said with a smile on his face. He started to feel slightly calmer then before then a thought crossed his mind. "Wow out if all those books you found those words somewhere? Wow that's impressive" Hunter said with a smile finding it slightly easier to talk to this Dragon. He wanted to get used to this whole Dragon thing

Eventually Patience found a staff member in the dorms, who informed her that she was to choose any room that was unoccupied, and that their belongings would be brought to their rooms by the Pygmy dragons.

Patience nodded her acceptance and began to hunt for an unoccupied room. She eventually found the perfect one: tucked away in a corner behind some stairs, it wasn't easily seen unless one was looking for it, which made it perfect for the shy girl. She entered the room and looked around. She wasn't really sure what she was meant to do now, as the Headmaster hadn't mentioned when a dinner was or anything.

Patience was eager to get started on her classes, for she hoped that her classes would shed further light on her dragon. She didn't want to be afraid of her dragon, but if her dragon's species was as awful as the books suggested, she just didn't know what she would do. Maybe she could raise the dragon to go against what the books told her, but she knew that any animal could only be trained to go so far against their instincts before it became impossible to train them differently. But maybe... maybe a dragon would be different? It wasn't just an animal after all, it had sentience and thoughts like humans, so maybe... just maybe, there was a chance at change? Patience just didn't know.

Drakon Academy [RP] - Page 4 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Drakon Academy [RP]   Drakon Academy [RP] - Page 4 EmptySat Jan 31, 2015 10:26 pm

Blue eyes looked out a window, watching the stormy skies. They belonged to a girl, who cradled a pink egg in her arms. This was Titiana, a girl who was now experiencing something one would think could only happen in dreams. Or nightmares. Depends on your opinion of what's going on. As the helicopter landed, she stayed in her seat, waiting for other people to go out first. It was something she did to power the chances of being run over. Anyways, she was one of the last few to exit. Outside, there was a man who was named Damien Shoals, but we were to call him Mr. Shoals. He led us in our tour to the school. The hallways were very big, but Titiana didn't put much thought into it as it was probably due to the size a dragon can be. Mr. Shoals then confirmed her guesses. What she did pay attention to was how the hallways were quiet. Maybe class was in session? Mr. Shoals confirmed that too. 'I'm on a roll today!' Tatiana thought. "Wouldn't want you dying on your first day now would you?". Wait what?!? This made Titiana a bit nervous, but she tried to shrug it off.

As the tour led them all the way to the garden, a boy yelled, very rudely I may add, "I want to see a dragon! What kind of academy is this if there's no Dragons!?". Mr. Shoals said "So you want to see a dragon, eh?". The boy flinched and nodded, while Titiana grew worried. She suddenly heard screeching and sat down immediately, criss cross Apple sauce style, with her pink egg on her legs and her hands on her ears. Oh god it hurt so much! Titiana saw a dragon swoop down, but she couldn't see what it did, as she was sitting on the ground and near the back of the mob of people. She then saw the dragon go up, lifting the boy from before, before playing catch with other dragons, using him as the ball. She looked away hoping he wouldn't get hurt. She swore she could even hear his screaming through all the screeching.

She stood back up when the screeching stopped, and she looked around, and saw the boy pale, and curled into a ball. Looked more like he took a fetal position to her. She then turned to look at Mr. Shoals, who had one of those dragons next to him. When he asked the boy if he was satisfied, the boy nodded. "Any questions?". Well, at least no one will voice themselves in a rude way.

"I- I mean, could I touch your dragon?". Well, this question definitely has a much higher chance of not going wrong. The dragon seemed to try to intimidate the girl. Mr. Shoals talked about dragons being picky with people and about how loyal they are. And when he said a rejected Dragon is a dead dragon, her heart skipped a beat. Sure, she had looked online and it said so when she looked up her egg, but the idea still worried her. Anyways, how is it that there is information about dragons online yet people still think they are fake? But then again, the keyword is internet. Mr. Shoals then explained how each dragon has a different taste.

She listened to everything else paying close attention, her ears still ringing. You reject a dragon, it dies. It rejects you, it lives. It somehow made sense. Don't ask, but it did to Titiana. And dragons chose you because of how you are. He mentioned some kinds of dragons, all of which sounded legendary in some way, that didn't have masters. Now, we had to go to Egg Care. Titiana smiled, still excited. She followed the others to the east wing of the school, into a room with red light, and it was full of nests. In a corner, she saw a red dragon, sleeping with some eggs. It was incubating them with it's fire. Mr. Shoals mentioned a Ms. Linani who would identify their eggs.
---------------------------------------
Alright, being one of the people in the back, she was one of the last people to be called. When she put her egg on the table, Ms. Linani took a bit to recognize the egg. "It's a Flamingo Wyvern" she said. Flamingo Wyvern.... She pictured a pink wyvern standing like a flamingo. The red dragon took the egg and began incubating it, along with other eggs. Titiana left, and walked to where the library was located. As she walked in, some small dragons dragged a girl past her. What she saw in the library made her feel sick. An egg, splattered on the ground. She could she a hatchling, but it was dead. That must have been why the dragons carried the girl away. This was murder in her eyes. She walked away from it, and made a strong effort to ignore it to no avail. It was a baby. It never even got to see the world. She went over to the F section, hoping to find something of Flamingo Wyverns.

OOC: Wow, wall of text.
......DRAKON!!! NO!!! DON'T LEAVE ME!!!! No, no, NOOOO!!! *crying* Why, why did you have to leave me? You had so much ahead of you... *sobs*
