The sun was already well up into the sky by the time the dark mountains that had been looming ahead were close enough for the group of traveling Pokémon to say that they were there. Luckily the day had been a pleasant one, not too hot and there hadn't been any rain getting in their way either, so everything had went well on that front. Of course the trip had been long and exhausting, but it could have been so much worse. The dark mountain range might have looked intimidating and gloomy, but despite the dark mist surrounding it, the sun was still bright and warm enough to make it... Kind of pleasant. Any wind that might have been blowing in their face was mostly blocked by the rocks, protecting the Pokémon from the chill – though as the climbed higher, the altitude did cause the air to grow slightly colder...

Varda was rather exhausted after their long journey to the mountains. Early in the morning, he had found a client looking for training partners in the mountains – and of course he had agreed! While the tiny bird hardly was big and strong, that was exactly the reason he had wanted to come along. He wanted to grow stronger and look for his home in a new area, so everything was perfect! He joined the Growlithe and they started their journey together, though on their way, the Swablu had met a familiar face in town...

The little beady eyes glanced to his side at the female Riolu, Noel. He had met her earlier once when she had been looking for Grassveil Town, so it was perhaps to be expected that he would meet her again there one day. The two had changed a few words while the Growlithe was listening, telling Noel about the current mission – which she seemed to like enough to want to join. As the client didn't disapprove, the trio had left the town together early in the morning.

"Aight, starting to look like a good place!" The Growlithe barked as they came to a rocky, wide open area with few larger stones and a rather miserable, twisted tree. The dog-like Pokémon sat down for a moment to rest after the journey and Varda followed her example, sitting on his feathery behind and feeling the cool stone and dirt underneath.
"Ooh... That was a pretty long trip," the little bird chirped as he let out a sigh, starting to relax a bit. The Growlithe just laughed as he looked at the other too.
"We should rest for a bit before we continue, yanno? Take a little break, we'll start training after that."

Noel places the.client down and smiles "thanks" she says as she turns her attention back to her opponent as she noticed the rage in it's eyes as she got into her normal stance waiting for her opponent to do something about that embarrassing hit Noel had done to it.

Noel looked to see that varda had moved as she hears.something she noticed varda had yelled at it making the bird turn around Noel slowed her stance and dashed right at the bird since it was turned around she leaped from the ground and sunk both of her feet right into the ancient birds back

This caused it to stumble forward as it turned and slapped the riolu with the large wings sending Noel flying back to the client

Varda stared the feral bird right in the eyes as it stood there, his own wings flapping hard to keep him flying in one place. It felt rather intense, the much larger bird's eyes at first full of shock and confusion... But then it realized what had happened, its eyes narrowing as it opened its mouth to show some of those sharp teeth up close and personal. The Swablu felt a bit nervous about it, not sure what he should have done next... But it became quite clear that being close to the feral Pokémon wasn't the safest place to be!

The blue bird did his best to abruptly flap his wings harder, rising higher before the Archeops was given the chance to jump after him. Even better, Noel had taken advantage of the short moment of distraction Varda had created, kicking the feral bird's back and causing it to stumble forward. It quickly turned around to look at its attacker, its mighty wing slapping the Riolu away from the pure force alone. The Growlithe that had gotten back on her paws quickly rushed towards Noel, using her soft, fluffy body to try to stop her as gently as she could.

The Archeops was quite angry as it screeched, running towards Noel and the Growlithe. But instead of charging at them, it instead spread its wings to take flight, turning around to rush at Varda instead! The Swablu noticed it, letting out a little tweet as it tried to out-maneuver the larger bird, knowing that he couldn't out-speed it in any way!

It was a problem for the two ground-based Pokémon to try to fight an air battle. The Growlithe looked up, her expression serious as she quickly looked at the Riolu.
"If you climb on my back and I'll jump as high as I can," she started, her eyes narrow,
"D'you think you can get high enough?"

Noel lt something soft? That had not happened before when she was launched back by a attack as she turns to see the client had helped her getting up the wing slap had hurt but she wasn't about to be done for she checked her scarf and bag they were ok.

Noel noticed the large bird going after varda gritting her teeth if only she knew a ranged attack she could help as she hears the client and the plan thinking that was a good way to get killed but varda needed help so Noel nodded

As Noel awkwardly got on the growlith and stood up as she started to run as Noel lowered her stance when the growlith jumped Noel waiting till she started to fall and jumped off as she jumped right over to the bird it had not seen this coming so Noel got a hit on it's back

As it fell slightly down Noel jumped high to a high wall as she started.to bounce wall to wall occasionally striking and leaving before she got hit doing some serious damage she was using her aura to see where.to hit hardest

Varda flapped his wings as hard as he could, his exhausted body screaming for him to stop – but he couldn't. No matter how tired he was, no matter how sore he was after being attacked by the large bird... If he stopped now, he'd end up in the toothy maw of the ancient Pokémon! The colorful bird was very fast, he had seen it before. Trying to fly faster would be impossible for the plump little bird, flying in a straight line was a suicide. All the Swablu could do was try to take advantage of his smaller size instead of treating it like a disadvantage, using sharp turns to try to force the chasing bird Pokémon to waste precious seconds to fly after him. He had no time to consider a way to retaliate and stop his attacker, no way to focus on anything but survival. He couldn't keep an eye on his surroundings to see if there was something that could help him – or what his allies were up to.

Suddenly, the Archeops screeched as something had hit it in the back, causing Varda to gain some distance as he looked back in confusion. It was Noel! Somehow, the Riolu had flown up there to attack the bird, the shock of the sudden attack causing the colorful Pokémon to lose concentration, its wings stopping. It started to fall, but quickly started to flap its wings again to try to regain altitude – or to at least stop its fall without crashing to the ground. But Noel was definitely bothering it now as she used a nearby wall to bounce back and forth, hitting the Archeops while it tried to start flying again. All it could do was pitifully attempt a few strikes at the Riolu, but she was proving to be a bit too evasive due to how the feral Pokémon already was preoccupied with something else.

The ancient bird happily dropped to the ground, trying to get away from the barrage of hits and rather staying on the ground, away from any walls that might have been used against it. It let out another hiss again as it summoned forth more rocks to throw towards the group of Pokémon.

Noel had been dodging the attacks and strikes but she had noticed they were going lower and lower as she used the last strike to jump high into the air as she was right above the bird with a smirk as then started to fall right to the bird.

As she was falling she had noticed the rocks again she had rolled once to the side to avoid one and then another side but this one had hit her leg but she kept going as she lifted her fist and slammed it right into the birds back

Her fist had hurt slightly as she jumped back over and waited for the bird to act

Varda tried to keep flying, but he just couldn't keep it up anymore. Now that he no longer had to push himself as there was nothing about to eat him right next to his tail feathers, his wings started to flap slower and slower, his altitude dropping. The fall was still more like gentle floating as he did his best to still make sure that it wasn't the drop that would finally do him in. For now, the feral Pokémon was focusing more on the ones closer to it, its attack targeting the Riolu and the Growlithe as the rocks were sent flying. Luckily the blue bird was out of the attack's range as he definitely couldn't take another one of those, but the Growlithe and even Noel seemed to get hit by them.

The Swablu landed softly on the ground, too tired to even fold his wings as they hung limply by his side, breathing hard in exhaustion. He could hear the feral Pokémon letting out another screech as he looked up, seeing how Noel attacked it again, having actually caused it to fall down now. The bird quickly glanced towards his client, noticing that while the Growlithe had been hit and had seen greater days, she was still alright and could stand.

But the Archeops wasn't finished. It was tired and weak as it pushed itself back on its legs, staring at the Riolu. Its eyes were full of anger, at the same time piercing cold and full of hot rage. Letting out a scream, it jumped backwards as it used the strength it had left to charge at Noel once more, its final desperation attack.

Noel smirked as she stood in place the large bird running at her but Noel didn't seem scared at all as she I just stood in place "come on you big baby" she yells out and this makes the bird furious as it dashed faster at Noel and when he was going to hit her Noel jumped avoiding the attack.

But the bird was so focused on Noel it had not noticed the wall behind Noel as it crashes into it full force it had tried to use its wings to stop but to no success as it hits the wall as it crumbles down on the large bird.

Noel landed far enough not to get hit by the falling wall as she smirked "I'd just stay down" she says to the bird as she shrugged "everyone falls for that trick at least once." She says as she walks back but still prepared to strike in case the bird didn't listen to her

There was still so much Varda had wanted to do to help, but there was nothing he could do. He could barely keep walking, his little legs trembling under his own weight as he tried to catch his breath. Weakly, he looked at the Growlithe for guidance, but she wasn't doing anything. She stood there, watching Noel intently as the Riolu taunted the charging bird, causing it to become even angrier as it started to rush at her even faster, ready to rip the small Pokémon apart.

But the swifter Riolu quickly hopped aside, causing the Archeops to hit the rocky wall that had been behind her, all its power behind its attack. The impact was enough to cause the rock to start forming cracks and the ancient bird, dizzy after the painful hit, didn't notice it – or at least wasn't able to realize that it was a bad thing. The cracks soon grew, causing the entire section to crumble as the top of it broke into smaller pieces, falling down – right on top of the feral Pokémon!

As the dust settled down, the section of the mountain wall had been broken, pieces of it left on the ground. Only the feathery tail of the Archeops could be seen poking from underneath all the rubble, not moving. For a moment, the air stood still and grew tense, as if everyone waited for it to get up for more. But it didn't. Finally, the Growlithe let out a relieved sigh as she sat down.
"I think it's finally over," she said quietly, panting. Varda's own legs finally gave out as well as he sat down on his fluffy behind, taking his much earned rest.
"Are you two alright...?"

Noel let out a small sigh she really didn't want that thing getting up it was.a.freak of nature "mom how you take things down like this everyday I will never understand" she says quietly as varda asks if they are ok Noel checks herself "other then a headache I'm good" she shouts out

Noel smiles "good work every one we did great" Noel says to the teammates as she stretches happy to be done with that big arse bird and also happy about how they won

Noel throws her arm up "ok that was a good warm up what next" Noel yells out ready for more she was also half hoping nothing would pop out like that again she can only do

Varda looked back at Noel, smiling happily. Despite how tired, hurt and dirty he was, his eyes were still sparkling like the bird was still so full of energy and life. He didn't want to get up anytime soon, still way too tired to walk or even stand... But he knew he was going to be alright.
"Yep, I'm still alive," the Growlithe barked, her own fur a bit dirtier after the battle as well. The Swablu nodded, happy that everyone was still fine. A bit hurt maybe, but ultimately fine. Of course, perhaps it was still too early to celebrate as they had to still make it back to town in one piece, but that didn't cross Varda's mind. He was sure they would get through anything after that.

Suddenly, a small noise from the pile of rubble where the Archeops was still lying made a noise, causing the Growlithe to jump up on her paws as she prepared for the worst, afraid that the damn thing was getting up! But no, it was just a tiny pebble that had come loose, rolling down the rest and clinking on its way before it stopped. She let out a little laugh, feeling a bit foolish for being so skittish now after the attack.
"I think we need a bit of rest first, aight?" She nodded towards the Swablu, motioning how he was quite tired and most likely couldn't keep going right away.

Noel had smiled as her partners had told her they were fine as she stretches some more and turns around to where the path lead as she turned and smirked "I'll go scout ahead you guys rest" she says as she runs off to check the area for anything around as she takes out a Oran berry and eats it as she keeps her pace

Varda was a bit worried when the Riolu didn't join them as they rested, still standing on her paws – just like she had done for the entire trip. She was standing when he met her at Grassveil Town, she had walked the entire way here without stops and now, on the mountain... She hadn't stopped to rest even once, either. The Growlithe had noticed this as well, tilting her head to the side.
"Suit yourself – but I'm not going to carry you back home if you get too tired, aight?" She retorted, though her tone was more humorous and joking than serious.

The Swablu couldn't go with Noel even if he wanted, though. He was forced to stay back and wait until he gathered enough strength to keep going. He took it easy, just sitting there and enjoying the pleasant breeze that ruffled his feathers, not too cold but refreshing enough the heated battle. While they were there, he and the client had some small talk, keeping an eye on the feral Pokémon that still was resting underneath the fallen rocks.

Noel let out a yawn and stuck her tongue out at the client she would be fine this wasn't even near her limit as she made her way through the area she decided to go off the main path so she could look for some items as she moved along the rocks she felt something heal all of her wounds as she looked down she had stepped on a trap and some items were also near as she picked them up happy.

She heard a loud yawn as she turned to notice another one of the big birds as she calmly walked the other way making sure not to wake up the giant bird that could kill her that would be bad as she got away and decided to to the other way just to get the paths items

(E21+15 for trap and berry - 8 for rolls has 28 now and got a reviver seed house orb and trawl orb

Varda had a lot of fun just chatting with his client, talking about so many things and learning more about the Growlithe. It did seem like they both were quite happy with the way things had ended up going, even though the Guild member the Growlithe had hired for the job wasn't a super strong Pokémon capable of protecting their client from everything. But still, she knew that she would have been worse off had she gone alone, considering how strong the Pokémon living on the mountain were. Alone, the Archeops would have been impossible. She was quite glad that she had listened to her friend and actually asked for company, now...

The two were in no hurry as they took it easy, restoring their energy. But staying still in a dungeon for too long was never a very good idea, as Varda had heard someone say earlier. Soon, a skull-wearing lizard with a bone club – similar to the ones from before – was seen climbing up the mountain path, and the Growlithe groaned. She wasn't really up for another fight, so the two decided to leave and go look for Noel. They got up and even though the Swablu was still tired and his feet were aching, he could walk well enough to leave the area before the other feral Pokémon became and issue.

Noel took all the items happy with what she had found she decided to go back to where she had left the two she felt like she shouldn't of left them alone seemed like a very bad idea now that she thought about it some more she was here to protect and train the client not walk around and grab stuff.

As she made her descent she landed near them as she quietly whispered so they could hear "guys I would not go that way I found another giant bird there" she says as she walks closer they seemed to be good now that made Noel happy
