Nightmare Night and the Candy Hunt - Page 3 Empty
PostSubject: Nightmare Night and the Candy Hunt   Nightmare Night and the Candy Hunt - Page 3 EmptyFri Oct 03, 2014 7:19 pm

First topic message reminder :

It was a hot day in the Scorchfall Desert and - okay, any and all days in the Scorchfall Desert were hot days. The point is - once more that reckless Eevee had felt the need to go on a treasure hunt in a place far too dangerous for any sane Pokémon that didn't have a few years of experience under their belt. Or decades. Or centuries. But obviously the Normal type wasn't going to be stopped by any rational arguments and logical reasoning, so to prevent a brutal maiming of the aforementioned Eevee William the Gengar had once more found himself roped into an expedition he would much rather have had no part in. And with every journey they traveled together, the Eevee would probably rely more and more on the beleaguered Poison type, always going to ask him when wishing to travel somewhere.
What had William gotten himself into there?

Apparently William had not managed to grab any of his comrades in the Earthquake. However they luckily seemed to be alive and well while the Steelix had fallen to the powerful attack.
Coughing and panting from the exhaustion of the battle and from having inhaled quite a bit of sand, the Gengar descended fully to the ground again, landing next to the other two Pokémon.
But - what was that about a treasure? In the Earthquake and the ringing it had left in his ears, William had been unable to make out exactly what had been said. But the word "treasure" had been mentioned and that was something to look out for.

Akuroma brushed off the sand on his cloak as best he could before pulling his hood down, "Not sure about you two, but I'd like to see if there truly is something left in Silent Temple. Valuable or not, it'd be wonderful for my research if I could study the temple," the Kirlia said to the two Pokémon. As much as he wanted to go to the temple, the desert was obviously dangerous for a lone Pokémon, and Akuroma knew that if the pair decided against exploring the temple, he'd be out of luck and would have to return home.

Sova had noticed the trio of pokemon that were wandering through, but had not caught what they were saying. He didn't know why anyone would expect any treasure in the silent temple, at least any that wouldn't be extremely well hidden. "If there's anything left in the temple, we probably won't find it. After all, a lot of other pokemon have gone there. But I've never been there and I wanna see what it looks like and there's more to an exploration than just treasure, so I'm in!" He said cheerily.

"And since he is going I'll have to go to make sure he makes it further than the second trap.", William begrudgingly added. He was doubtful that anything they would be going to find in the temple would be worth the effort it would take to get there, but just as it had happened so many times before he couldn't just leave Sova alone. What if there would be another incident like the one with the hallucinogens on Blackmist Mouintain only without the Ghost type to help?
Some day the Gengar would have to find a way to reduce the Eevee's spirit for adventure. Because what was happening now certainly didn't work. The Ghost type needed some time off too, but since the Normal type was traveling to yet another place every two minutes there was no choice but to keep following him around...

"Looks like we have the same goal then, so it shouldn't be too hard to get through this desert and into the temple. If anything I'll at least be able to study the inscriptions on the walls and perhaps I may find something that could be useful even if it's not exactly the treasure everybody's looking for," Akuroma said. He was a bit curious why a Pokémon with as much power as the Gengar would force himself to follow the Eevee. The Eevee certainly seemed to have been able to hold himself against the Pokémon left to him. Though perhaps the Eevee got into tighter scrapes than this which only the Gengar was any use in. On that note,

Akuroma realized he didn't know the names of the two Pokémon. "Ah, by the way, my name's Akuroma," he said, assuming he'd get their names in turn.

"I'm Sova!" Sova said with a smile. Akuroma at least seemed pretty nice so far. Though the cloak was a bit menacing to him, but he knew someone else who liked to wear a cloak....and was standing right next to him. He knew not to judge someone off appearance. But he did feel a bit left out being the only one without a cool looking cloak to wear. Would a cloak even look good on an eevee? He tried imagining it, but felt he wouldn't look as good as the other two. Too bad. Maybe he could think of some other way to make himself stick out.

"William here.", the Ghost type added.
Apparently they have had the luck to run into another explorer here in the empty wastes of the Scorchfall Desert. A lucky coincidence - with Akuroma at their side Sova wouldn't need William following him around all the time, giving the Ghost type at least some time to explore by himself.
Akuroma appeared to be a responsible Pokémon, so the Poison type would not have to worry too much about him recklessly endangering himself by thoughtlessly charging head-first into the biggest danger available. And luckily the cramped environment in the temple would allow for William to utilize his ability to move through solid matter much better than the open desert did. Then again it would mean that he would have to keep Sova away from all the traps that would probably be waiting for them, so whether this was an improvement would be debatable.

"Well then, let's head off to the temple before we all roast," Akuroma said before he began to climb a nearby dune, following the trail of the three ground types who had just passed. Akuroma knew he could count on the Gengar, William, to protect them the most. He seemed to be more powerful than Aku was, which would mean Aku would need to refrain from any thieving if he planned on not being marked as an outlaw.

"Leggo!" Sova yelled happily. He followed closely behind their new ally, not wanting to take a leading role given he didn't know where the temple was, but not wanting to fall behind. The desert sand was hot, making him envy William for being able to levitate over it instead. Must make travel easy being able to float around everywhere and go through things. But alas, he had to walk like most pokemon and deal with the downsides that came with that. Maybe he could convince the gengar to carry him on the way back....
