| This place was strange, it had many different kinds of pokemon he had never seen before. Zephyr couldn't help but stare at a few, having only seen Nidoqueens and Tyrantrums for the majority of his life. The Nidoran made his way through the guild, uneasy about the new pokemon, but otherwise confident that this was going to be a singe just signing up. He had heard that this amazing guild didn't require anything special to join it, just walking in and asking the guild leader. He didn't quite know what the guild leader looked like, but it was rather obvious as to where the leader's quarters was. Zephyr approached the door, standing onto his hind legs once he was close enough and knocking on it with his front paw's claws before beginning to wait. | |

| The knocks were echoing through the guild's halls, carrying with them the feeling of foreboding significance. Surely the door in front of the Poison type would open soon, revealing the guildmaster and their quarters behind it. A second passed, then another one. The door remained closed. The guildmaster meanwhile was just returning from a chat with the guild's cook as she spotted an unfamiliar face in front of the entranceway to her accomodations. Since it was obvious that the little guy was looking for her, and because Faye just couldn't leave an unknown Pokémon ungreeted, she approached the purple creature. Calmly she addressed him with a warm smile on her face and the words: "Hello, dearie. My name is Faye. Is there anything I can help you with?" | |

| The small poisonous rabbit's ears twitched as his head and body turned to look behind him. He noticed a rather large and dinosaur like creature with flower petals decorating her neck like a necklace. The Nidoran dropped to all fours to turn completely around to face the grass type pokemon before saying, "I'm here to form an exploration team," he spoke in a rather monotonous tone, the scar on his hip giving him some trouble from the sharp turn. The wound wasn't totally healed, but it was at a level of satisfaction for the Nidoran to believe that he could fight, run, and explore. | |

| The smile on the Meganium's face grew wider as she heard the news. Wide enough even, that one could say it went from ear to ear if the Grass type were to have any visible ears. "Oh, that's simply wonderful, sweetie. Luckily we seem not to have missed each other. Would you like to start now? The procedure is a simple one, I promise." And almost inaudibly the Herbal Pokémon muttered to herself: "For you at least. I can't wait to deal with all the paperwork." Indeed the paperwork most likely was the thing the Meganium liked the least about her position as the guildmaster, on par maybe with everyone believing for her to be better than other Pokémon just because of the guild thing for some reason maybe. But that didn't mean that she wasn't overjoyed to once again be able to welcome a fresh face to what she almost considered to be her family. | |

| The nidoran nodded to the question, wondering why the voice sounded rather feminine. He had assumed the guild master to be male, and figured that the plant pokemon was just rather odd in having a strange voice. The nidoran blinked as he waited for the meganium, wondering what they were going to do. Was training going to begin immediately? He hoped so, the bite on his leg may have bothered him a bit, but he felt he was ready to get going immediately. Getting stronger just didn't happen over night, and he aknowledged that. | |

| "Very well, dearie.", the Meganium spoke while simultaneously opening the door to her quarters with a set of vines that was extending from her body. "Please, after you.", she motioned, stepping away from the door to allow the Poison type to pass through. "Would you care for a spot of tea, dearie?" The guildmaster's quarters themselves weren't anything extraordinary. One of the walls was taken up by a few bookshelves, a variety of tomes in them. A second wall was adorned by a rack with a few bags of different sizes hanging from it. A desk was placed in the middle of the room, a few things on top of it. Additionally there were some less noteworthy pieces of furniture. But perhaps the most striking thing were the plants strewn across the room. There were quite a few potted plants of the strangest kinds sitting around, all of them looking extraordinarily healthy. | |

| "Tea?" The Nidoran asked, wondering just what the word "Tea" meant. He had spent most of his life in the wild with his heard, so he knew very little about the wonders of civilian life. He decided not to risk having said yes to some strange ritual, he declined the meganium's offer. He preferred to get straight to business and get this whole thing over with so he could begin his training. Zephyr wandered into the guild master's room, taking note that the place was rather professional looking with its desk, bags, and books. The potted plants caught his attention, as they seemed to be more colorful and lively than the plants outside. He began to wonder if they were fake.. | |

| Not being aware of the Nidoran's unawareness of the concept of tea, the Meganium decided to simply begin with the procedure then. As she entered her quarters behind the soon-to-me guildmember, she closed the door again before wandering behind her desk, retrieving a rather large and heavy-looking tome from one of the bookshelves that were now positioned behind her. As she set it down on the desk in front of her and opened it, it revealed various lists, most of them containing a multitude of different names. "Now, sweetie, the first thing I would need from you would be your name.", she calmly stated while picking up a quill. | |

| "Zephyr," the Male Nidoran responded, blinking as the tome was placed onto the desk. Curious, he pushed his front paws up and sat on his hind legs, attempting to see the tome over the desk which was larger than him. He placed his front claws on the end of the desk, clamping onto it for balance as he stood on his toes to see above the desk. His wounded leg whined a bit, but he ignored it, it wasn't too much pain, just more of an annoying nag that was just complaining because it didn't want to perform that action. | |

| The Meganium chucked, watching the Poison type's attempts to take a peek into the book in front of her. After swiftly writing down his name, she held up the book and turned it around for the Nidoran to read it. "Here, you go, dearie. It's nothing special, really. Just the guild member records. Now then, the next step in your signup process would be for you to choose a name for your team. If you haven't decided yet, feel free to take as much time as you need." Now this would be interesting. How long would it take for the Pokémon to decide on a name? It might not seem like it, but things like these could tell the careful observer a lot about the Pokémon in front of them. | |

| The Nidoran thought for a moment, wondering what he could possibly name it. He assumed he had every right to change it later on, so a hasty decision for now wouldn't harm him. He figured he may as well put himself in it, as he was the Poison Pin pokemon. So Pin would be a good name, but it seemed a bit boring to have it by itself. He continued to think, the gears in his mind turning as he scanned around, looking for some sort of idea. Each team in the book seemed to follow some kind of pattern with those in it, there was certainly a great variety of pokemon in the guild. He decided to close his eyes and open them and look at any letter he found in the guild records, if it made sense then he would stick with it. He opened them to the letters, "P", "A", and "N" He finally spoke, "PinPan." | |

| The Meganium had no idea, why, but the name "PinPan" summoned forth an intense discomfort, mixed with a strange hillarity within her. The Grass type was having a difficult time restraining herself from both bursting with laughter and vomiting all over the place. Yet she managed to regain her composure. "An interesting name, dearie. It...uh...it suits you I guess." Quickly writing down the team name to get it out of her head, she the focussed her attention on the Nidoran again. "Congratulations, dearie! You are now officially a member of this guild!" Using her vines to take one of the many bags, that were hanging on a wall off of its hook, she then placed it in front of the guild's newest member before beginning to explain: "This is your Treasure Bag. It's a great help in carrying items and will certainly be useful for you. Inside it you will find your Explorer Badge, a Wonder Map and a little surprise. So, do you want to look inside now, or should we get right to assigning a room for you?"
(Do I really need to explain the nature of the surprise to you?)

| "Room please," the Nido spoke, "I'd actually prefer to get to work immediately though," the Nidoran spoke. Zephyr felt a bit...odd. The sign up didn't seem to be as epic as he had originally thought it would. He expected something a bit bigger than just signing a book and that being the end of it. Wasn't there some kind of oath? He shrugged away the thought and accepted the explorer bag, not quite bothering to look inside, the patience being within him to wait to see the surprise later. He looked to the meganium, still a bit confused about the guild master not being some strong and brutal pokemon like the tyrantrums from his home. | |

| "Very well. If you would follow me then please, sweetie?" With those words, the Meganium placed the book back on its shelf again and put the quill and ink back into her drawer. Walking towards the door again, she continued: "We're almost finished with the introduction process, dearie." After a quick tour through the guild and its facilities, during which Faye introduced a variety of Pokémon and explained the use of the systems in the guild, the duo had arrived at the quarters again. The Grass type walked up to one of the doors, opened it and explained: "This will be your room. There isn't much inside, but you can decorate it any way you like, my dear. Usually rescue teams only use these rooms for sleeping though, so most members don't really change anything. For now I'd suggest for you to rest. An exciting day lies behind you and without doubt the next one will be just as excitng, so you should be prepared. Are there any other questions you're having? If not, then we'd be finished here, sweetie."
(The guildmaster not being strong? I am now so tempted to find some excuse to throw your character through a wall. ^^)

| An exciting day? The only thing that had happened to the nidoran was that he got signed up to the guild which consisted of going to a room and asking to be in before proceeding to tell the meganium his name and some random words that was his team name. He shook his head, "No, i'm good." He looked into the room, the nidoran figured it would take a while getting used to sleeping in here, as he was more used to sleeping with others with him in a small and compact den that his mother had created for the young. It was always crowded there, but it helped on the cold winter nights. What was going to keep him warm here? He figured he would figure that out on a later date, as for now it was time to go and check out the missions to see what he could perhaps do tomorrow. He nodded a thanks to the meganium, waiting to see if she would say anything else before leaving or simply just leave. | |
