Registration and Reunion- The New Team Mizuchi

Lee came bursting through the same bushes that he did the first time he had arrived in Grassveil. He wasted no time watching the people in the town as they went on with their lives like the first time he was there. He had just returned from his village and needed to find Jet so that they could go to the guild and form their team. "Grassveil!!" he shouted as he came through the bushes, "The great ninja Lee has returned!!" he shouted. Lee started to run through the town looking for Jet. And as soon as he found his shy partner, they would go to the rescue guild and finally form a team.

OoC: We can do a few posts with them finding each other and going to the guild. But we should keep it short.

Jet nodded and followed Lee down the stairs, just as nervous as ever. He continued to make his way around the room behind the Froakie. He had made sure to keep his distance from the various Guild members making their way around this first floor. Even when his teammate went over to talk to some silvery, mammal-like Pokémon--which, unknown to him, was an Aron--he remained distant. So many strangers all in one place...and each one of them was likely to be far stronger than he was. To say that he was nervous would be an egregious understatement.

Jet did indeed follow Lee, just as the Froakie expected him to. And, just like before, he preferred to maintain his distance from other Pokémon around the room as much as possible while keeping it inconspicuous. He didn't want people around him to think he was nervous, lest he appear as weak as he felt.  So instead, he stuck close to Lee and occasionally moved from his right or left to the opposite side to make sure that Lee was between him and the nearest Pokémon.

However, despite his divided attention around the room, Jet found himself constantly returning his gaze to the decent-sized scroll on the Froakie's back. It had been pulling at his mind this entire time. He knew for certain that the Froakie had no such object upon leaving. And due to the nature of scrolls and who typically used them, he deduced easily enough that Lee had most likely obtained it from his home village. He could not help but wonder what was written within it. But perhaps he could ask about it later. After all, they had something more important to tend to.

They had just come up to the Guildmaster's door, just as they had been instructed. Jet then looked at Lee. "W-well.... I...I guess this is it," Jet murmured. "I...I suppose I am as ready as I will ever be...a-as long as you are."

As Lee and Jet walked through the staff section of the guild's second floor, Lee looked at all of the closed doors that lined the hallway. The guild had a decent amount of staff Lee assumed from all of the doors. Perhaps in his free time Lee could work security of the front door and show their current guard how it would be properly done.

When the two of them had approached the door of the Guildmaster, Lee nodded at Jet's comment, "Lets register our team," he said. Lee then burst in through the door into the Guildmaster's office without even knocking, "We are here to register ourselves underneath you as an official rescue team!" Lee shouted as he barged in. He placed an odd stress on the term 'rescue team' because he still wasn't completely sure what that meant or how it was different from a ninja team.

The doors to the guildmaster's quarters opened, revealing a large desk in the middle of the room, backed by a wall of bookshelves. To another wall a rack was fixed, from which several bags of various sizes were hanging. All throughout the room various plants could be found, all of them looking extraordinarily healthy. And...that was it. There were a few things in this room, but the guildmaster was not one of them.

Faye had just finished her walk through the guild as she discovered the doors to her quarters standing open. Not wishing to scare the Pokémon who caused this by sneaking up on them, she asked:
"Hello, dearie. Is there anything I can help you with?"

Jet blushed slightly in embarrassment as he watched Lee practically kick the door to the Guildmaster's door down and started shouting about making a rescue team. He wasn't sure if this was a conventional or usual method of opening the doors, but he supposed that it didn't really matter much. Lee was who he was, and he certainly had a unique way of handling situations. He should probably be more used to it by now...or at least, he would need to become more used to it in the future. In any case, there was no point concerning himself with it now. Especially not when the room seemed to be empty, so there appeared to be nobody to answer or even notice his outburst.

However, Jet quickly saw motion out of the corner of his eyes from behind them. Instinctively, not wanting to be caught by surprise, he spun around on his feet and met the eyes of a Meganium. When she started to speak, her tone and demeanor seemed to make Jet picture a more elderly Pokémon than what he was looking at...but of course, he voiced none of these. "U-um...." he mumbled nervously. "M-my friend and I were looking for the Guildmaster. W-we were hoping to form a...a rescue team together. D-do you know where he is...?" Jet didn't realize it, but his use of the pronoun "he" had come instinctively and he hadn't once even considered that the guildmaster very well may be a female...let alone the very Pokémon that was standing before him.

Lee looked around at the empty Guildmasters room. Since the room was empty Lee assumed that it was either a decoy to protect the Guilmasters true location, or that small pokemon had been lying about the location of the office. Lee began to think about what his and Jet's next step of action would be, but before he could even get a full thought in, he heard an unfamiliar voice from behind.

Lee quickly turned around to face whoever was the source of the voice. But he by instinct Lee also activated his Camouflage attack as he turned. That way if the pokemon who had spoken was going to attack, Lee had a better chance of dodging and retaliating. Lee did his best to stay quiet, he would have told Jet to not speak to the large pokemon either, but before he could Jet started to speak.

A chuckle escaped the guildmaster as she decided to have some fun with the two.
"Ah, a great choice! Welcome to the guild, sweeties! I haven't seen the guildmaster yet today, but I am fairly certain that they are close nearby. Finding them shouldn't be a problem at all."
Now this would be interesting. How long would it take for them to realize, that the Meganium in front of them was the guildmaster they were looking for?
Faye may be a kind spirit, but she definitely wasn't above some good-hearted mischief and pranking.
Especially not if the opportunity presented itself like this
Of course she would tell the two the truth if they would decide to run off elsewhere looking for the guildmaster, but for now she would continue this little game.

Jet looked at the Meganium up and down for a moment. For some reason, Jet's mind tugged at him, as though he were picking up that something was rather wrong. But he wasn't sure what could be bothering him. Likely, it had something to do with this Meganium. What was this Pokémon doing by herself, anyway? If she were part of a team, he would have expected her partner or partners to be nearby. Sure, she could just be a normal visitor to the Guild, but then why would she have phrased her reply the way she did? And in front of the supposed guildmaster's chambers? Then again, it could simply be because they were separated at the moment, doing their own things. After all, it's not like team members were conjoined twins or anything; they could go off on their own if they so desired. But what caught his attention the most was that chuckle of hers. It was possible that she simply found his sudden spin and nervous demeanor a little funny, of course.

As far as he could tell, he had no reason to suspect this Meganium of foul play. At least, not yet.

"U-um...okay then." Jet replied, casting a nervous glance to where Lee was standing--or at least HAD been standing before he camouflaged himself. He hoped that the Froakie had every intention of sticking with him. "B-but first...a-and forgive me for asking...b-but I would feel better knowing who you are and what, erm, Team you're from...?" Perhaps he could lure the Meganium into letting out more information for him to work with. He may not be very strong, but if he's lucky enough, perhaps he could contribute to his team through the gathering of information. He had already virtually mapped out a lot of Grassveil Town in his head in the last few weeks. Hopefully, this would not prove to be any more difficult.

Lee was partially suspicious about the large green pokemon that was standing in front of him. He had never seen a pokemon like that in his life, it was obviously not a ninja because between its large size and the large flower around its neck, she wouldn't be able to blend into some areas. The lack of knowledge was one thing that caused Lee to be suspicious about this pokemon, but there was something else that was making Lee feel suspicious.

He didn't know what was causing this feeling of suspicion. It made the nerves on Lee's entire body shake, and he was unable to tell that Jet had a similar feeling. Since Jet was naturally a nervous pokemon, Lee didn't see anything wrong with Jet and his current manner. And how Jet was asking questions to the pokemon, made Lee think of his own question. But for now he wasn't sure what to ask, but he needed to ask something to possibly throw this pokemon off. Lee tried looking at the surroundings in the hallway as well as at the green pokemon to try and figure out something to ask.

"Oh, I am not a member of any team. Not anymore at least. Long ago I was an explorer, but just like everyone else I grew old and decided to retire. You should always remember this. You may be young now and there is nothing wrong about working hard, but to become too absorbed in your work can be a bad thing if you don't remember to take some time for yourself."
It was obvious that the two were suspecting something. The guildmaster was wondering when the idea of the Grass type in front of them being the guildmaster herself might cross their minds.
It was a bit surprising however. The Meganium would have thought that someone wishing to sign up here would have asked around for a bit of information on the establishment first. And if they were to do that, then they would definitely have come to know of her identity.

Jet listened carefully to every word that the Meganium let fly toward his senses. So, this was an older Pokémon after all, was she? But aside from that, she seemed like a very kind, wise individual. Those were traits that somebody with a specific role in the guild would possess...or at least, should possess in his personal opinion. Under normal circumstances, Jet probably would have asked around about the Guildmaster before coming here...but with Lee leading the charge, he didn't really have the chance. So here was his biggest opportunity to either confirm or deny his suspicions

"...You're not...erm...the Guildmaster, are you?" Jet asked at last.

"Hehe, congratulations, dearies! You found the guildmaster.", the Grass type chuckled.
"Now, I've heard you'd like to form a rescue team. If you'd like to do so, we could begin right away. Don't worry, it shouldn't take long at all. You should be able to take on your first mission by tomorrow already. That is if you want to do so of course."
Well, it was fun while it lasted, but now they had figured her out. Still, it would most likely be an interesting display of surprise on their faces once they fully comprehended they had been talking to the guildmaster the entire time.

Upon the Meganium's confirmation, Jet let out a small breath of relief that he hadn't even been aware that he had been holding. He was glad to have finally managed to work out the Guildmaster's little prank. However, Jet didn't seem all that surprised. He was just grateful that he had been right. In fact, he was actually somewhat glad that she had done so. It was a good test of what he could contribute to his teammate.

"I hoped you might be, given everything that you had said," Jet said. "B-but, erm...yes, we would love to create a Rescue Team as soon as possible if that's okay with you." With that, he took a look over at Lee, the Froakie that should be still standing next to him. "But I suppose that Lee will be the team leader, so most, if not all of the details will probably be from him."

Jet hoped that he wasn't putting the Froakie on the spot. But it was true; he would probably have most of the answers. He didn't really care if Lee wanted to make the team himself. He would be happy simply being part of the team, no matter how everything turned out.

Once Lee learned that the large green pokemon was the in fact the guildmaster that he and Jet had been searching for, he deactivated his camouflage so that the guildmaster and Jet could see him. "Yes we would like to form our team as soon as possible," he said. Lee now knew what he wanted to name the team, he just didn't know what needed to be done to finally form it. "What must we do to work in yours and the guilds service?" he asked.

"Oh, that's easy, dearies. If you would please follow me so we can get the signup process started? And while we are at it - would the two of you care for some tea?"
With these words the Grass type walked back into her quarters, opening the path for the two Pokémon to enter. The guildmaster's quarters themselves weren't anything special. One of the walls was taken up by a few bookshelves, a variety of tomes in them. A second wall was adorned by a rack with a few bags of different sizes hanging from it. A desk was placed in the middle of the room, a few things on top of it. Additionally there were some less noteworthy pieces of furniture. But perhaps the most striking thing were the plants strewn across the room. There were quite a few potted plants of the strangest kinds sitting around, all of them looking extraordinarily healthy.

Jet nodded to Lee before he started forward, following the Guildmaster. He felt a little bit more comfortable around a person in charge of rescue teams and such than he usually did around strangers. Plus, she seemed to be a kind and wise Pokémon, so he didn't even hesitate or surrender to his nerves this time around. He shook his head at the Meganium's offer of tea. "No thank you, Miss...erm...M-miss...Guildmaster. But I would preferably be in and out as quickly as we can be. We've been waiting for this for some time now."

Jet rubbed the back of his head nervously as he realized he had tried to address the Meganium without even had asked for her name yet. And honestly, he would have normally accepted the tea just fine. He always loved a soothing, mind-calming cup of tea now and again whenever he wanted to get his nerves calmed or his mind off of other things. But here, he was more in a hurry to get this registration over with. He was very close to being an official member of the guild with Lee...and soon, hopefully, he would start getting stronger and more courageous....
