Registration - Sova and Leif

It was late afternoon by the time Sova and Leif got to the Guild. Sova paused at the entrance for a moment to admire the area lit by a yellow-orange glow from the low sun before continuing inside. He'd been to the guild plenty before and knew the inside well. Now that he had someone to make a team with, he was eager to get joining the guild over with and move on to the exciting stuff.

Some new faces to the guild may stop to admire the entrance room, but he'd seen it plenty before and he didn't feel like halting for even a moment for that. He quickly made his way through the room and hopped down the short flight of stairs, not even wanting to take the time to walk down them. He was too excited to walk down stairs, who would have time for stairs in his place? Probably everyone.

He then paused for a moment, realizing he may have left his partner behind at the entrance, and looked back up the stairs, waiting for the Abra before continuing. He knew someone so unfamiliar with the guild could get lost easily alone.

Leif had seen the guild before. He may have even been inside. He may have even known its layout thoroughly. Regardless of what was, his amnesia prevented any recollection of the guild, other than a vague awareness of its existence and seeing it a couple times from afar while wandering around with Sova. As such, seeing the twilight sun blazing behind the guild gave it a sort of magnificence. The surrounding area seemed to be made of gold, and the sky on fire. It was intimidating, and yet inviting.

Leif wandered slowly behind the Eevee, taking time to absorb the surroundings, and get a feel for a layout. He saw Sova descending the stairs from the entrance just in time to follow, and his leisurely pace didn't seem to be a hindrance. Just as he saw his partner pause he had caught up with his teammate, and had managed to get through the unfamiliar building. "So, Sova, I guess this is it?"

"Nooo, we just stopped here for no reason." The Eevee said in a sarcastic tone, followed by a giggle.  "Yep, this is the guild.  Bigger than you'd think from the outside, huh?"  Sova looked around, to the boards, the few doorways to the mess hall and kitchen, the entrance to the bottom floor, he'd seen it all before but just wanted to make sure he still remembered it right.  He hadn't been around the guild much lately and he felt a bit pressured actually joining it, finally.

After taking a moment to look around at the guild he'd been to so many times before, Sova darted towards the doorway to the bottom floor.  "Well, come on!  The Guildmaster should be down here, or at least a staff member.  Someone we can ask about signing up." He said as he pushed the door open.

"Heh..." He couldn't help but laugh a little at Sova's witty comment, "Wise guy eh? Anyways, yeah, big place. I mean, I knew it was big, but I never would have guessed it was like this." Leif watched Sova, taking his cues of where he looked as places he should look. His eyes also darted to the mess hall and kitchen when Sova's did. Even though it was a big moment, Leif didn't feel pressured. He felt pretty go with the flow, after all, without your memory it can be hard if you can't just roll with what life throws at you.

Leif, watching Sova closely now, followed close behind. "Alright!" He raced down, his heart beating fast as he anticipated signing up, and perhaps more importantly, his first adventures. He felt like a new life had been opened when he stepped through that door. In fact, one could say that it would have felt much the same even if he had still all of his memories. This moment signified the beginning of a great rescue team being made, this moment was a change in lifestyle, this moment meant a step into the unknown.

Sova traversed the stairs with his companion, this time not trying to leap down them since this flight was a bit longer than the last one. At the bottom, he looked to the left and to the right. He hadn't been to the sleeping quarters much before, so his memory of it wasn't as good as the rest of the guild. "Left, that's where staff rooms are. The guildmaster's probably in their room." He said as he turned to the left and began walking down the hall. He stopped at the Guildmaster's room and paused a second. He'd never actually spoken to the Guildmaster before. What could be expected?

"Would you like to do the honors?" Though it may have seemed silly, Sova thought perhaps Leif would like being the one to knock on the door.

Leif was trailing after Sova, before nearly falling over as he stopped when his friend turned. He stared at the sleeping quarters and guildmaster's room for a fleeting moment before responding to the Eevee. "Through there, huh?" He stared for a moment, before realizing the Eevee had gone down this hall he pointed out. He snapped out of it and hastily caught up again. Looking at the guildmaster's door, and back to Sova who was now speaking to him, he spaced out for a moment. "Huh? Oh, uh, I guess... I can..." He again looked to Sova to see if he would get a reassuring glance, before deciding he would knock anyways.

*knock, knock, knock*

He waited silently to see what would happen.

The knocks on the door were echoing through the hall, the wood resonating under the impact of the Abra's hands. However nothing happened. Noone came. The door did not open.
The guildmaster herself was just returning from one of her quite frequent trips through the guild as she saw two Pokémon standing in front of the door to her quarters, one of them being quite the familiar face. Immediately she walked over to greet the two.
"Hello, dearies! Great to see you back yet again, Sova!", she exclaimed.
"As for you, sweetie, my name is Faye. Is there anything I can help the two of you with?"

Sova was surprised the Guildmaster was out of her room, for some reason. Of course she didn't stay there all day, but he thought she would be in her room given it was almost dark out. "Hi! This time I'm not here just to hang around, I'm finally ready to join the guild, and this is my partner, Leif! May we sign up?" He didn't realize he was talking a bit fast in his excitement. The anticipation was getting to him as he realized he was actually finally going to be a member of the Guild. He would have joined earlier, but he didn't want to go on missions alone or be placed with someone he didn't know.

Leif stood there for a second, confused, before realizing the pokemon before him was the guildmaster. The same guildmaster who was not in that room he just knocked on. The same guildmaster who could approve (or deny) them becoming a team. The same guildmaster who Leif failed to hear in his confusion. He looked to Sova, who clearly seemed to be excited, and to the guildmaster who seemed to be looking expectantly (for what Leif could tell) at them. Taking a shot in the dark, he attempted to leap into the conversation without knowing a word that had been said. "Er, you must be the guildmaster. My name is Leif, it's nice to meet you... umm" he struggled to recall a name, but no such name could be recalled from his hazy mind.

"Oh, of course you can join, dearies. My name is Faye by the way.", the guildmaster responded, deciding not to embarrass the Abra by pointing out that she had introduced herself already.
"Now, why don't you step inside so we can get you two signed up? Don't worry, the process is not complicated or lengthy at all. Youi should be able to take on your first mission by tomorrow already. If you want to do that that is of course. Now, could I interest you in some tea, dearies?"

Sova complied and stepped into the room with the Guildmaster. "Yes Ma'am, I'd love some tea. Do you have sweet tea?" He said, trying to be polite. He was raised to be polite to adults, especially someone as kind as the Grassveil Guildmaster. He was a bit nervous about , as he'd never been in the Guildmaster's room, or had a conversation with her. But she seemed as nice as he'd heard she was.

He walked into the room with the guildmaster Faye and his partner Sova, shouting "Sure, that sounds great!" Leif hadn't been raised to have manners, and even if he had, there's no doubt he would have forgotten them. He pondered about his previous statement, and realized the ambiguity, "I mean, the fast registration and the tea. Both of them. They sound great. And the mission doing" He thought to himself now, wait, didn't I list three things? I think that's one thing too many. I'm sure nobody will notice... Man I'm awfully clumsy today. Not to mention missing part of the conversation, and almost getting lost. He couldn't restrain a slight chuckle at his own lack of grace this particular day.

"Very well, dearies. Please, take a seat."
With these words the Meganium walked behind her desk, filling two cups of tea for the young Pokémon. While handing them to the Abra and the Eevee, she used her vines to retrieve a tome from the bookshelves behind her, setting it down on the old desk in front of her, which was creaking under the weight.
"Now, you two have given me your names already, I think we can skip that part. Now, this question is probably going to take a while for you to answer, so please feel free to take all the time you need.
How would you like to name your team?"

Right, the team name....Sova hadn't actually discussed a name with his partner. They came straight to the guild once they thought of it, so the name just slipped his mind. What would be a good name....he thought for a moment and took a sip of his tea. "Well, how about....Sentima? It means Fearless." Luckily, he'd had plenty of time to think about what name he would want for when he made a team. "What do you think, Leif?" He said, looking for his partner's opinion on the name suggestion.

Leif shrugged, already having nearly finished his tea. He never even considered what to have for a team name, but Sova's suggestion sounded good to him. He wasn't sure that he himself, or that Sova, was fearless, but maybe believing that they were would make them fearless. Or is that just being brave? Does that mean being fearless would be stupid? Or does it just mean they can go on uninhibited by anxiety? Dang, this was in the moment, there was no time to be pondering such things. This was time for action. At least it sounded cool, and maybe nobody else would judge them for, perhaps inaccurately, calling themselves fearless. Or maybe half accurately, he couldn't speak for sova. Dang it, over-thinking it again. After thinking about it for a solid 30 seconds, at least, he replied. "Yeah, that name sounds good to me."
