Soaring in the skies above the fiery chasm below, a prehistoric pokemon gave a screech as he circled a portion of it. His wings were spread as he slowly descended onto the ground below him. He finally landed after finding the best place to land, which was pretty much everywhere there wasn't any lava.The archeops landed a little clumsily, not quite perfecting his landing due to only just recently having evolved. He waited for his passenger to hop off, as he surveyed the area.

They were here in search of the treasure that the Xatu had seen. The being that stared at the sun had come around town and even to the guild, spreading his riddle of this new treasure that would surely bring them riches.

Sova noticed the spikes and pieced together that they seemed to be hitting his ally at the same time he was hitting the enemy. At that, they were only hitting Acro. He had heard of the move Destiny Bond before, but knew very little about it and thus, was not able to realize what was happening to his ally. He hoped being in the sky would allow the archeops to escape the attack and focused back on the enemy at hand.

The enemy rose to face him and lunged forward again, this time stopping before he reached Sova. The Houndour breathed in and exhaled a purple smog all around the eevee, causing him to cough before attempting to run out of the toxic haze, just to be cut off by the enemy. He turned around and again attempted to run out of the haze, only to be cut off again by the hound running in front of him.

After too much time in the smog, he began to feel the effects of it, pain slowly beginning to course throughout his body. Now there was no need to attempt to escape it, so despite the pain he was now feeling, he rushed up to the enemy hound and tackled him, sending them both out of the haze of poison.

As he stood to his feet, the enemy lunged at him yet again with a mouth full of fire, but this time Sova couldn't react quickly enough to avoid it, so instead he made the best of the situation. As the enemy bit down onto his shoulder, drawing blood and searing him at the same time, he grabbed onto the hound with both of his front paws and bit onto his neck, though his bite didn't do nearly as much, just being meant to help hold onto the enemy. He then struggled to spin the hound around and slam him on the ground, causing the vice-grip of the enemy's mouth to be released from his shoulder.

Another spike! Left! Right! No left! No-gah!

Acro maneuvered less than gracefully through the air, attempting to climb higher as the spikes reached from his shadow all the way up to him. He managed to avoid them, but they kept coming straight up towards him non-stop. The spikes seemed to have been fed up if they had feelings, as one of them finally turned into the Archeops instead of going straight down. It struck his already partially damaged wing from earlier, causing the archeops to screech and fall from the sky. He managed to catch himself from the dive, and landed on the ground with a gash on his wing.

"Wh-What is this!?" the growlithe spoke, astonished from the strange attack the Houndour seemed to be performing on the Archeops simultaneous to the eevee's attacks. His ears were pinned to the back of his head and a paw had been lifted, both frightened and concerned for the duo who were trying to help him.

"Look at you and your strength now, you can't even fight a little Eevee!" Sova taunted, prompting the enemy to leap up and lunge for another bite. He simply backed up to avoid it, followed by another lunge and more backing up. He'd decided it was time to end the fight, and perhaps the enemy's life if he could manage it.

Slowly, he lead the hound over to a large boulder, taunting once more partly for his own pleasure and partly to further infuriate the enemy. "You're all talk!" He shouted. The enemy replied with a rage-induced charge forward with an attempt to bite him again, but this time instead of simply avoiding the move he detected it, seeing exactly where the enemy was trying to attack, and ducked at the last second, tripping the houndour into the rock.

While that actually KOd the houndour, Sova didn't stop there as he rammed the enemy against the rock before he could fall to the ground. He stepped back and slammed the enemy against the rock once more, paying little attention to anything else. He planned to keep doing it for a while, hoping to give the enemy some pain to really think about when he woke up. Though if he ended up killing the hound, that would be okay too.

Spike. Spike. Spike. Stop. Please.

The spikes continued to assault the archeops. With every hit the eevee made to the houndour. The houndour itself finally completely fainted after about five smacks against the rock. The spikes suddenly stopped. The archeops looked down to his shadow once more, hoping that maybe whatever it was had been finished. Acro gave a sigh of relief, but as soon as he released air from his mouth, a purple streak encircled him, zipping across the ground at a high speed as it formed a pattern beneath him.

The archeops had no time to react as the purple shading on the ground rose up in a cylinder wall. Pain shot through the archeops that he had never felt before. He couldn't resist screeching in pain as the cylinder of the power of Destiny Bond swelled within him and damaged him. It seemed to last for days for the archeops, but in reality it was only a few moments. The circle and pattern finally dissipated, and Acro was left standing. He his wings were spread out, and his jaw still hanging open like his body didn't quite register that Acro was knocked out yet. He finally collapsed onto the floor, completely knocked out in the most painful way he had experienced as an explorer of the guild.

Sova's senseless attacking of the unconscious enemy was halted at 7 hits against the stone, by the pained cry of Acro. He turned to see his ally being assaulted by....a black cylinder, which he assumed to be from the same move causing the shadow spike things to attack him. What ever it was, clearly it was causing a great deal of pain to the bird, so Sova rushed over to try and help, though it was over before he could even reach the archeops.

"....Acro?" He said a bit quietly as he approached the fallen bird, beginning to realize what move had been used on his ally, and what he had just done. "Acro, are you alright!?" He began to panic, looking around for any more enemies, only spotting the growlithe and the extremely battered houndour. "Th-this is my fault....this....this is...." He continued, stuttering, his voice becoming very panicky.

He had no way to heal, what was he supposed to do? "I....I...." He tried to think of something to say, perhaps something to request of the growlithe, but he could think of nothing. He placed his front paws on Acro, attempting to use Helping Hand to give his ally an energy boost, in hopes it would somehow help. After a moment, he shook the bird a bit, beginning to worry he'd gotten his ally killed.

The faint breathing was a signal that the Archeops was still alive, weak but very much alive. Since the houndour wasn't killed, the Destiny Bond hadn't killed Acro. A bonus for sparing the life of even the blackest of hearts.

The growlithe was speechless, he looked to the houndour, who didn't seem to be moving but was breathing as least. He looked back to the eevee trying to help the Archeops, and shook his head clear, figuring that he should help the explorers. He rushed forward and noticed the Archeops's bag, "What's in the bag?" he asked quickly. If the archeops was a more advanced explorer, then it was likely that he was carrying more advanced items than the normal Oran Berry or Blast Seed.

"I-I don't know...." Sova said as he hesitated, then proceeded to open and rummage through Acro's bag. He felt uncomfortable digging through someone else's personal belongings, but it seemed to be necessary, so he decided to ignore how wrong it felt. A few Oran berries....a few more....wow, the guy sure seemed to love Oran berries....

Finally, he found a seed, which he recognized as a Reviver Seed. "Yes! Yes yes yes!" He grabbed the seed in a paw and hopped over to the archeops' head, falling as he landed and dropping the seed. "Ahggg! My....Aaah...." He attempted to speak through the moans of pain as he became fully aware of the extent of his wounds through a jolt of sudden pain, originating in his bleeding and burned shoulder. The weakness and pain from the poison also felt worse after the wave of pain from the wound, even though he thought he had gotten used to it. He didn't want to move for a moment, to instead just take a second to catch his breath.

"Can....ah....can you give him the....thing...." He attempted to request to the growlithe. The multiple pains surging through his body just got worse and worse as the pain-numbing pressure of battle and adrenaline wore off. Finally getting a chance to see his wound didn't help either, a deep bite in his left shoulder, the bleeding would probably be worse if not for the burn accompanying the bite area.

The growlithe nodded quickly, snatching the Reviver Seed and placing it into Acro's throat. He managed to have the weak archeops swallow it, but no immediate effects seemed to be taken. The growlithe turned to the eevee, "Wh-What about you? he asked the eevee, "I-I think some of my friends are around here, I could go get them if you just wait here and not go anywhere perhaps?" the growlithe seemed to lose all of its pomp rich-kid attitude as the two were practically half dead for his sake and treasure box. He waited for an answer from the eevee, considering the archeops wasn't even awake to give one.

"Ah....w-what....? Uh....yeah...." Sova said, barely being able to focus on standing, let alone focus on the conversation. From what he heard, it was something about getting friends, which he had no problem with. He decided to sit down in hopes it would ease the pain and, after another jolt of pain from moving, it did help some. Being able to rest a bit was nice too.

The growlithe turned and quickly ran off, leaving the two on their own in the open and injured. It was a stupid move, but the puppy pokemon was too frantic to have noticed the dangers. Acro was still unable to move, but he managed to wake up. An eye opened slightly, finding himself staring into the sky and figuring his head must have been turned to the side. He couldn't quite remember what had happened, just that something extremely painful had happened. His body felt numb, and he couldn't move much except for his head ever so slightly. What had happened?

Sova usually would have noticed his ally waking up immediately, but he was too focused on the pain he was experiencing, which was now accompanied by a feeling of nausia, presumably from the poison. He'd been wounded and burned before, but he'd never actually experienced being poisoned, especially not in combination with a painful wound and a bad burn. The feeling was far from pleasant.

It was then that he began looking around the area. Half-dead archeops....growlithe nowhere in sight....his vision began to blur out of focus for a second as he looked in the general direction of the houndour, though he quickly corrected the focus of his eyes. If moving didn't feel so painful, he would consider going over to hit the unconscious enemy some more.

Thankfully, the growlithe hadn't taken long. The fire type had returned to the duo with a Cyndaquil and a Fennekin.
"Here they are," the growlithe spoke, pointing to the two with his paw. He swiftly gathered the box before returning to the duo, having forgotten the very reason the explorers had been put in this state.
Acro noticed the trio, and was a bit wary of the two newcomers. Who were they? What did they want? Was the growlithe a liar once more and they were going to take everything he owned and even his life while he was so weak? What about Sova? He managed to move his wing a little bit in attempt to get up, but his overall attempt failed as the only thing that occurred was him moving a single wing.

"Hey...." Sova said, not feeling up to a big happy greeting, though he was happy to see some help. At least they looked friendly. Then his attention was taken away from the newcomers by Acro....attempting to flop around? He wasn't really sure what the movement was meant for, but either way it was a sign of life and he was relieved to see it. "Acro! You're alive!" He surprisingly managed to speak without trouble, much better than his last few attempts. He wasn't actually surprised to see his ally was alive, but he was still relieved the bird seemed to be....at least semi-okay. He was alive, that was the important part.

Through the burning, pulsing pain, he still managed a smile in relief.

The archeops, finding that he still couldn't quite speak, lifted his wing once more in a slight wave as if to acknowledge that he could hear them. His wing slapped back to the ground as he ran out of what energy he had to wave. The reviver seed was working, but slowly. He could feel feeling coming back to his body, but he kind of regretted being able to feel as pain claimed itself the dominate feeling.
The growlithe looked to the Fennekin and Cyndaquil, "Got any ideas?" he asked them, seemingly a bit frantic.

The Cyndaquil simply shrugged, but the Fenniken, however, hopped over to Sova as he spoke.  "I know!  I can wish-"  He was cut off by the Eevee.  "Help the archeops first....please."  Sova said.

The Fenniken hopped over to Acro and closed his eyes, his body began to glow a faint white and sparkle a bit.  Shortly after, the archeops began sparkling.  A healing effect would soon follow.

"I....think I can help."  The Cyndaquil said nervously, suddenly deciding she could do something after previously thinking otherwise.  Perhaps she forgot about a move she had.  She ran over to Sova, looked over to the Fenniken and mimicked his movements, then his ability, a bit nervously.

Sova accepted the treatment, seeing that his ally was already being....presumably healed.  The Cyndaquil in front of him began glowing a bit, sparkling, then a moment later he was surrounded by sparkling effect, feeling better instantly.  Over a few seconds, his bite wound and all minor injuries he'd gained from the previous battle and all other battles on the journey were healed, making him feel so much better that he couldn't help but let out something between a moan and a sigh to be relieved of a portion of his pain.

"Thank you...."  He said slowly, before being reminded that his wounds were only a portion of his injuries with the burning sensation on his shoulder and the stinging throughout his body from the poison persisting.  Regardless, he still felt better having the bite gone.
