On the Road to Graduation [Closed]

Aimee leaned against the metal bars that protected her from falling off the edge of the ferry, content in letting the crisp ocean breezes blow through her short, ginger hair. Feeling the salty spray of the sea on her face, Aimee's eyes were closed in the blissful moment, enjoying the warm sunshine and calm seas whilst she could. They'd be landing in Vermilion City soon enough, at least if the word being passed around the ferry were to be believed. Once they arrived Aimee figured it would be busy from then on until they'd finished their final graduate exam and dissertation, which could take more than a year if they weren't proactive with their time. With a small sigh, Aimee's green eyes opened again and she glanced up at the sky. Sometimes she swore her tutors hated her, after all the other three groups had gotten one region each to tour. The group she was in however had to journey around both Kanto and Johto purely because they were conjoined regions. At least they'd learn a lot though, and it would definitely be fun to see all those new places...
Aimee's green gaze turned to the cloudless sky with a smile. It wasn't really all that bad after all. She had three friends in the other members of the group she'd been put into, that had to be a plus side as well.

Her thoughts were disrupted by a Fletchling perching neatly on her head. With a chuckle, Aimee reached up as if to make sure the Tiny Robin Pokemon was balanced correctly on her head, "You enjoy your flight?" she asked the Fletchling with a smile. Arietta chirruped cheerfully in response before hopping off of her human friend's head and landing on the metal fencing that prevented people from falling into the water.

While it was annoying to hear, that the others didn't really believe for this amount of planning to be a good idea, Daniel was used to it.
"I think you may all be taking this too lightly. The route shown here is the one on which we should be able to discover all Pokémon in the shortest amount of time, improving our grades. Furthermore it takes into concern the infrastructure, allowing us to eat and sleep whenever neccessary. Also taken into account is the meteorological forecast, allowing us to evade rain and storm as much as possible. Costs are something that is also kept to a minimum. If you can provide arguments against a well-planned journey, please do so."
Daniel had given up hope on getting the others to follow his plans, but hopefully the random route they would pick wouldn't lead them into too many problems.

"How about you be our chief route planner and put those maps and legends to good use?," smiled Aimee cheerfully, glancing around to check that the others agreed, "I mean the rest of us can always request detours and stops along the way if we want to," she added, trying to compromise with Daniel as his ideas and amount of planning weren't at all misplaced, Aimee herself just preferred not to be bogged down by too many deadlines.

The ferry drew closer to Kanto, the landmass growing bigger by the minute. Soon enough an announcement came over the ship's intercom, the captain himself calling for the four students to gather their belongings together for landing in Vermilion city with his gruff voice. Listening to the announcement and then shrugging, Aimee smiled to the other three.
"I guess i'll see you all once we get off this boat then!" she grinned, realising that they were actually in Kanto, in Vermilion City now. They were mere minutes from entering the foreign region and beginning the journey of their life!

Excited, Aimee bid a temporary farewell to the others and hurried off back to her cabin where she had left the belongings she brought with her and the equipment that the academy had provided for their journey. It was all neatly packed and so she merely needed to grab it and leave, heading into the boat to find the exit and meet back up with the other three.

"I'm not really arguing, I'm just saying that we may be here for school stuff, but I think we should be able to go at our own pace. I don't really want to be rushing everywhere, we should probably take some time to take in the sights." He explained his thoughts on the matter, glancing at the other three.
As the captain called over the intercom for everyone to get ready to disembark, Justin turned and started to walk back into the ship, waving a hand to the others.
"See you all on the flip side, huh?" He commented, Audrey letting out a small cry and waving as the two went inside. After a quick walk down the narrow hallways of the boat, he found his cabin, stepping inside and tossing his things into a messenger bag in a rather untidy fashion.
"You seem excited. Ready to get going?" He asked the Mienfoo on his shoulder, the discipline pokemon nodding her head. Tossing his bag over his shoulder, Justin laughed a bit, heading out of his cabin and back into the hall.

"Like I said, I'm fine with whatever we do. Me and Kimori will be alright with whatever happens. Just gotta go with the flow and everything will be alright." Damiean said, content with whatever his group decided to do. He kept lying in his pool chair along with his Treecko companion until he heard the captain call on the intercom telling everyone to get ready to disembark. Both Damiean and  Kimori sighed when he heard this but he knew it was gonna happen sooner of later so he didn't complain.

"Well, guess we gotta get our stuff. See you all in a bit. Come on Kimori." Damiean said, jumping out of his pool chair with surprising speed for someone most saw as lazy, with his Treecko companion doing the same shortly after. The two then headed back to Damiean's cabin so they could grab all they needed.

Daniel was about to respond as the captain's voice interrupted their conversation.
With a quick glance at his pocketwatch he confirmed, that they were traveling slightly ahead of schedule.
At least one thing was going according to plan.
The young student went to his cabin, easily and quickly retrieving his belongings he had already packed hours ago.
Soon their journey would start. Daniel was interested in getting to see, how these three would deal with the new, unfamiliar environment. How good would their skill in battle be?
How much would they know about the Pokémon, phenomena and passages they would find?

Arietta chirruped in a rather lively manner from Aimee's shoulder as pokemon and trainer wandered down the ramp that joined the ferry to the dock in Vermilion City. Reaching dry land, Aimee halted for a moment with her bag, spotting a seating area in which to settle in whilst she waited for the other three to leave the boat and arrive in the city.
Whilst waiting for the others, Aimee did a double check to make sure all her belongings and equipment were checked and nothing was missing. After she confirmed this, she was content to stare off into the ocean, Arietta perched on her head for the time being.

Passing through the crowd of others heading for their cabins, Justin made his way to the gangplank, stepping off from the boat and onto dry land. It felt a bit awkward to get used to walking on non moving ground, having spent a bit of time on the ferry and having gotten accustomed to the boat. He put his hand over his eyes, squinting a bit to adjust to the sunlight as he searched for the other three he had been talking to. Audrey did the same thing, mimicking him by holding a paw above her eyes and looking around as well. They took a few steps around, not noticing Aimee sitting on the bench as they searched.

After going to his cabin and getting his stuff, Damiean walked down the boat ramp and onto dry land, with Kimori following close behind. As he stepped onto the land of Kanto, Damian began to analyze his new surroundings. He saw all of the building around him, the trees in the distance, all of the people and pokemon roaming around, and the same bright beautiful sky above him. It wasn't anything like his home town but then again, to both Damian and Kimori, there was no place on earth as Fortree City. Still, he was content with being there with his classmates, looking forward to what might happen in the future.

"Dude, Aimee's over there. Not that bard to see." Damian said jokingly at Justin before walking towards the bench Aimee was at with Kimori soon following behind, having seen her location while scanning the area.

Finally having reached drl land, Daniel was looking around, trying to get some orientation.
The others were already standing together, so the young man decided for it to be best to simply approach them.
"So, what exactly do you all need to do here? We should at least decide on a direction to travel in."
Which Pokémon would they be going to catch?
That was the most important question currently going through the head of the student.
There were so many possibilities and each and every one of them would in turn open up more possibilities on their journey.
The seventeen types alone would enable so many different possible combinations and there were four entire teams to build. At least that part would be interesting.

Aimee grinned as she saw the others getting off of the boat, Arietta taking flight from her shoulder and fluttering in circles around the rest of group as they arrived, as if greeting them with her cheerful chirrups. As the others approached, Aimee got up from her seat on the bench and wandered over to meet them halfway.
"Welcome to the Port of Exquisite Sunsets!" she chuckled brightly as they approached, quoting Vermilion City's motto and motioning to the sign nearby from which she learned it. Turning her gaze to Daniel, she then replied to his question.
"I'm not sure what everyone else wants to do but I'd like to explore the city itself before setting off into the wild Kanto wilderness," she grinned, "According to that sign," she pointed back to said sign over her shoulder, "places of particular interest include the Pokemon Fan Club, Fishing Guru and the Vermilion Gym."

Looking over at Damiean, Justin gave him a playful nudge on the shoulder, laughing and following him to the bench Aimee was at.
"Hey, I never claimed to be an observant person." He commented, slowing to a halt as Aimee and Daniel joined, the four of them together in a group. Audrey returned the Fletchling's greeting with her own, waving a paw and letting out an excited cry of her own.
"I'd be fine with hanging around here first or heading out of here. It might be a good idea to take a look around the surrounding routes, but then again who knows when we'll get back here again?" He commented, looking around the other three faces and waiting to see what the general consensus was.

"Hehe, guess not." Damiean said, chuckling as Justin nudged his shoulder as the two walked over to the other, with Kimori still following behind. Once he got there, Damien sat down in another bench right next to the others. Kimori then jumped up and onto the other side of the bench ad sat down as well. He then heard the others talking about what they were going to do and what path they were going to take.

"Guys, we've got all of the time and freedom we could possibly ask for in this trip, so there's no need to rush. Besides, we're gonna eventually come back here to Vermilion so we don't need to worry about that." Damiean said in a calm tone, not wanting the others to think too hard about the planning and more about the adventure.

"Fishing could be getting useful. We need to encounter quite a long list of aquatic Pokémon after all. I think I'll be paying him a visit."
While he didn't mention it, Daniel was happy to see, that the girl had at least had the idea to check a sign.
Now, while the others did not seem to have put much thought into their actions, at least they hadn't been suggesting anything outlandish.
"We do not have all the time we need by the way. I am pretty sure our teachers do not want to wait until next year for our work."

"Sounds cool!" she smiled as Daniel commented on how useful fishing might be, "But anyhow, instead of dawdling around on the docks how about we all just head into the city and see where that leads us?" suggested Aimee, her green eyes positively sparkling with the excitement of it all. Without waiting long for a reply from the others, she span around on her heel and proceeded to head in the direction of the main city with a small chuckle. Arietta flew after her with just as much excitement, the Tiny Robin Pokemon appearing to emulate her trainer and friend's attitude.

"I'm on board with that plan. What do you guys think?" After hearing what everyone had to say, he figured going into town would be the best idea. It could give them a bit to start off and get used to Kanto, before setting off on their travels. Audrey seemed to agree, nodding her head excitedly. Watching as Aimee started off, he hesitated for a second before shrugging his shoulders.
"Well, she's on the move already." Justin commented before walking after her, deciding to catch up. The Mienfoo on his shoulder pumped her paws up in the air, as if cheering as they walked around.
