First topic message reminder :

Sosio flew across the sky, the mountain just coming into view. It was large and towered over the sky, like a giant menacing spike that juts up past the clouds.
Here it is...
She glided down to enter the dungeon, adjusting her Defense Scarf.
This is where everyone claims to find that item... With it, I can level up faster... It's going to be really important.
She landed, folding her wings and peering into the dungeon. The little fletchling wan't exactly fully prepared, but she had her scarf and an oran berry. Besides, surely she would find many useful items along the way. But also many dangerous pokemon. It would be tough, and she didn't know what she may face, but it was worth a try. She entered boldly, head held high, scanning her surroundings.
It's a long way up, but no problem. I'm not here to make it to the top, anyways. Would be cool if I did, though...
She knew flying straight to the peak would be impossible. The atmosphere would be too thin, and she was tired of flying all the way there, anyway. She whistled, listening to her echo, and moved forward.

Just as simple as that, they were now traveling with one another. This seemed like an ideal circumstance which became blazingly apparent the moment they set off on the path. Sosio was fervently feeling the earth as if she were searching for insects to devour. It was an intriguing process, and Ares found his eyes straying towards her actions occasionally in order to study and understand how she was working. She flittered about sometimes, in which the Charmander's eyes would follow her feathered body with great interest.

As she continued her search, he would continue his own. Scanning the rock wall that cropped up on the side opposite of the cliff, he attempted to identify mineral deposits or locations in which iron ore might have a relatively reliable vein. His tail swung from side to side, a merry tune prominently playing within his skull. His companion's search had yielded some sort of reward, and he promptly turned his skull about to inquire, "What did you find?"

Sosio turned back around, looking at Ares.
"Oh, it's just a Max Elixer..."
She had shoved it into her pack, peeking at it later only to find it wasn't a very desirable item at all. What would a Max Elixir even do? It's almost like it has no use. Yet. She hopped about, inspecting the walls and such. They were pretty interesting. For walls, at least. The mountain was the tallest, and at the center, so looking out at the horizon was like looking at tons of teeth surrounding the center spike, the master of them all. Looking up, it was pretty obvious it was a long way to the top.
Maybe rarer items are more common near the top... Of course pokemon get stronger, though.
She began to think of what she heard; that in many dungeons, there are treasure chests at the top waiting for the brave explorers to find. Even though these chests have obviously been opened at least once before, it is rumored to re-fill, and that the amount of chests match the amount of explorers in the dungeon. These mystical properties of these myths are unknown, and the fletchling doubted it was even possible, but it was worth a try.
Maybe the chests contain what the pokemon seek...
Charmander was looking for that strange rock, yet Sosio had already found what she was seeking.
Maybe it knows... something more important I don't even know I need...
She looked at him, and looked at her feet.
Perhaps fate has something different planned...

A Max Elixir? Well, that was still pretty useful in some circumstances. It wasn't exactly what he was looking for, but at least Sosio might find some utility in it. As he continued along the path laid out before - of which now began to follow a rather steep ramp downwards - his head continued to scan the wall for anything of particularly use or value. Sure, there was the occasional shrub or flower that protruded forth from the rocky wall, but there appeared to be nothing of particular interest. In fact, he even began to notice a decrease in the black streaks that once were abundant on the lower levels of this mountain's path. He prowled closer to the walls, his eyes narrowing in an earnest attempt to find even the smallest sliver of dark rock.

Ares's gait would slow to a stop as he noticed a great deal of indents and cracks in the wall. Perhaps there was a chance of something being present in there? He would stick his hand into one of those long, gaping holes, and pull out a rather peculiar object...

Curious, Sosio peeked over at Charmander.
"Items can be hidden in the strangest places, huh?"
Often times, items would be underground, in the snow, or hidden up in trees, and irrelevant ones at that. Thinking about it more, it didn't even seem possible to find a ribbon on a mountain... Why were all these random things scattered about? Did pokemon put them here?
She stroked her pink ribbon with her wings. It was soft. It made her, well... Joyful! She was affable and ecstatic all the time, but these little strands of silk atop her head only made her happier. It looked nice, too.
I might just have a chance at evolving faster...
She wouldn't evolve until level 17, and from there, it would take all the way up to 35 just to evolve again! Where did pokemon find the patience?
She prowled around the ground, searching once again for valuables. She wanted to find something shiny, or something valuable she could sell for shiny poké! Who wouldn't want currency. It's what you use to buy anything if you can't find it yourself. You could also complete missions to get some neat stuff, but Sosio didn't start or join a team yet. Ares must have found the only item nearby, because there was nothing else in sight.

Another Special Band and no iron chunks. Great. He held the furled fabric close to his body as he investigated its rather plain and ordinary semblance. It was white with no noticeable decoration, and would remain in such state until it was dyed or embroidered. Whoever the previous owner was had obviously shown little interest in it, for they simply had stuffed it in a rather random hole in a rock face and left it for the elements. Such neglect would not be given in the same fashion from Ares - as he would be much more classier and stuff it in a bag - but at least it would be in good company with the other knick-knacks that he had found on his adventures.

It was quite unusual, actually. A Max Elixir and a Special Band could not be realistically close together - it wasn't like this stuff grew out of the ground! As he looked about, a low growl vibrated through the air. A shadow stood before them, blocking the path. Obviously, this was the owner of these things and it was none too happy.

Jumping into action, Sosio hurled herself at the rocky pokemon. It was a Cranidos, pure rock type. Sosio had all not-very-effective moves, and she assumed Ares did, too. The Cranidos may also know some super-effective moves on the Fletchling and Charmander. She started off the battle with quick attack, assuring her first move. She retreated a moment's second, and returned with a tackle-snatch combo. Surely if the pokemon was guarding items, it would have more on hand. Or claw...
She immediately put the item away, for protection, and because she was focusing on the battle. She used growl for the benefit of both of them.
"Alright, let's kick some tail!"
She flicked her bow and bounced along next to Charmander.

Ares wasn't sure what item the Fletching had managed to pilfer from the unwelcoming feral Pokemon. It probably wouldn't be particularly useful in defeating this enemy, and so he decided that he would hold off asking what she had acquired. There was bound to be more goodies on it. He had read that Cranidos's were Rock-types and could pack a powerful punch with their thick, bony skulls, and thus he decided to range his opponent. This knowledge would prove particularly useful in case this creature were stronger than he anticipated.

The moment he was invited to attack, there would be no hesitation. His jaws opened wide as he released a Dragon Pulse towards the Cranidos, hitting it squarely. It reared back momentarily, releasing a snarl that rippled through the air with great ferocity, before dashing forward. At first it appeared to be charging towards Ares - in which he responded by neatly sliding out of the way - however, it feinted and attempted to use Headbutt on Sosio. Hopefully the bird would be quick enough to dodge!

Sosio had never been happier! She hopped up, just as the opposing pokemon was ramming it's head towards her, she ended up landing on its head, and as if in a slow-motioned fashion, she bounced off, forcing its skull into the ground. She suddenly saw the item she had stolen from the pokemon on the ground.
How did it get way over there?
It must've fallen out of her pack. She trotted over there quickly and retrieved the item. She admired Ares' advanced moves, a dragon-type move, and watched the bluish firey misty projectile being launched towards the exposed pokemon before. She enjoyed it. It was like a fire show, but with the most amazing substance. She thought of all the wonders of the world, and how things are the way they became. She probably shouldn't be doing that, though, because they were still in battle. She watched the Cranidos closely to be sure it didn't try a foul trick again.

The Cranidos seemed disoriented when its enlarged cranium had been shoved directly into the dirt. At first, it stumbled about as the dirt slid free of its entangling horns; however, it was soon back in action and charging once more towards the Fletching. Ares was prepared this time and, allowing his head to be thrust back, sent another dazzling Dragon Pulse at the rampaging Rock-type. It yelped again and was knocked onto its side, flailing its legs desperately to get back onto its feet. The Charmander readied to deliver the defeating blow, but hesitated. He had had the honors last time, and so it would be quite gentlemanly to allow Sosio the final attack this time.

He pulled back, skirting to behind the bird before giving her an approving nod of encouragement. This would be a good experience for her: there was nothing quite as fulfilling as making an enemy run away. The Charmander, however, would provide the necessary back up in case this final move should go awry. Already his vocal chords were vibrating intensely with a Growl attack. This should give her some leeway.

She watched and saw a straight path towards victory. She went with her most powerful move, sadly tackle, but the pokemon must have been really weak because it slid back, blowing up dust and dirt as its head resisted friction in jerky motions. She got up, proud of victory, and flapped her wings slanted so she wouldn't take off, but rather blow of dust as a kind of acceptance for her winning. She looked at the item the pokemon held. A Stun Seed. Why would such a powerful pokemon be carrying such a pathetic item? It must have been guarding something much more... a valuable treasure, perhaps.
She had the strange urge to peck the walls after defeating the Cranidos, but she didn't know why. What could this pokemon possibly be protecting, and why did they always go after her?

The Charmander was absolutely elated to observe his feathered companion deal the final blow. Though it was not as powerful as he had anticipated, it was satisfactory enough for Ares, for it brought the Crandios down. More importantly was the fact that the Rock-type was now retreating at a relatively quick pace, its gait elongated as gave up its Max Elixir and Special Band. Though perhaps it was worth asking, he would remain blissfully ignorant to the fact that this enemy had obtained items that were usually used for adventurers. It had been a similar theme with the Poochyena prior, who had numerous items upon its person when it finally retreated.

Something was making these Pokemon go insane.

“Nice work,” he would cheer, allowing a chipper and rather light-hearted tone to fluctuate through his words, “you’re certainly a great companion to travel with!” This victory once more made him optimistic for finding the iron ore that was rumored to be around this area. For now, however, he would be distracted by an item that the Cranidos had apparently forgotten.

An item... and rare at that... Sosio should be considered a Psychic! Cranidos originally came from fossils, being ancient pokemon, and so it's as if it were guarding its baby. Sosio felt a little bad, but it's not like the Cranidos could bring the fossil to life, right? Sosio continued, often looking at the walls.
It's oddly compelling... could this be why Ares was searching the walls? Could it contain much more than dull colors?
She grew tired and leaned against a wall . She imagined the inside, glistening with precious jewels and sparkling valuables. It was like she truly saw something for the first time. She longed for riches, but to her, friendship was much more. The wall felt like soft yet gruff dirt against her feathers, sifting and crumbling gently like grains of sand.
I swear... If this wall caves in...

He was not anticipating a thin disk to be half buried in the dirt. It was a curious thing, for its reflective surface had not been scratched at all during their brawl. Obviously it had to of been created from a rare or hardy material, or else it would have been broken and damaged by this point - this would mean that it was rather rare. He wasn't sure what it exactly it did, and thus he tapped it lightly against his forehead in an attempt to trigger a reaction with the disk.

Nothing happened.

Ares tried once again, this time applying a small amount of force behind it.

Again, nothing happened.

What a waste! He would deposit the item into his ragged bandanna prior to turning back to Sosio. He was still chipper and optimistic, which was quite impressive considering the horrendous luck he was having with his search. Upon spotting her resting up against the wall, the lizard would inquire, "What, are you tired already, Sosio?" It was joking tone that coated his words thickly, and he would merrily approach her. "C'mon," he would tease, "surely your feathers can't get ruffled that quickly!"

"Wanna find out how long it takes?"
She literally started bouncing off the walls, scraping them and clawing at little bits. Her tail waved about, frantically trying to prove she wasn't the least bit tired. She dashed about and flew into the next area, the walls covered in a strange whitish film and grime. She dashed above a few confused pokemons' heads and landed on a jutted stone poking out of the side.
"Try and keep up!"
She called to Ares from her little perch. She was having fun in this crazy dungeon with this random pokemon, and she felt like a little kid . She danced around, looking down at everything below. She wasn't up too high, but she still felt tall. She hopped to the tip and bent her neck down and watched below like a vulture watches its prey. She flapped her wings at the sight of the Charmander, but began to lose balance. Suddenly, the perch crumbled from underneath her, and the world came crashing down. Quickly recalling a trick she learned about this sort of situation, falling upside down where it is impossible to fly, she stretched her wings outwards so the tips would point away from herself towards the ground, catching a wind current and gliding her safely. It was hard to fly upside down, but now that she had every thing under control, she could flip herself over. And so she did just that, landing underneath where the spike used to be. Landing on something hard, she realized she hadn't landed on her old perch, but rather something that was lodged inside. She investigated it closely.

He was impressed with Sosio. Not only was she able to keep up and stay upbeat about it, but she was also able to set the pace. As Ares hurried after her - all the while examining the walls for signs of his desired ore - he would begin to show increased interest in the way the wall was textured. It seemed that, as they continued to go downhill, the cliff wall was becoming increasingly more ragged and brittle looking. There were jagged spikes here and there that protruded, and sometimes stones would be lodged into the cracks. His best bet was checking in these locations.

As the Fletching discovered an item, Ares would be extending his hand into one of the many nooks and crannies that decorated the area in an attempt to locate a small sliver of iron. He released a grunt as his arm extended in order to hook his claw upon an item.
