PostSubject: Fire and Darkness   Fire and Darkness - Page 8 EmptyThu Mar 06, 2014 3:46 am

First topic message reminder :

Kari had no idea why he decided to come back here, it wasn't good for him last time, as the scar over his right eye proved that point. Alas, the large, white furred, four legged, Absol. was probably fueled by the want for treasure and riches, which always seemed to lead him into the harshest of situations, as his past so clearly supported. He decided to venture into the mountains again, but what he didn't expect was the task of survival that lied ahead, and the trust he must put into a Pokemon, he doesn't even know.

The Beartic, generally a big and rough looking creature, seemed to be quite diminished as the Disaster Pokemon performed a powerful combo on it. The ground quivered slightly as the behemoth's chest smashed into it, and soon became still. There was no doubt that the two adventurers were proving themselves more than worthy to take on these less than savory characters, and it was becoming more and more apparent as the battle progressed. Perhaps out of desperation, the rather furious Abomasnow could no longer stand on the sidelines.

"Enough!" came its coarse voice, "Time to get this party started!"

Its leaves would begin to shake violently as the wind became harsh. A noticeable chill lowered the temperature greatly, and soon a ferocious blizzard-esque hail storm bombarded the location. It blasted the location, and soon the world was thrust into the grey of a storm. There came a noise from the shadow, and soon the Weavile was leaping towards Tsukiakari, its claws seeping with purple goo as it attempted to hit him with a Poison Jab.

Kari smirked at the Abomasnow, who seemed to be entering into the fight. Kari was startled by the Weavile leaping at him, Kari tried to sidestep the attack, but was a half second too late. The Weavile grazed Kari's side leaving a small scratch that pierced his flesh, giving the poison an entryway. Kari charged forward at the Weavile and headbutt it, sending the Weavile backwards.

The Weavile skid across the new blanket of snow that was quickly accumulating about their feet, tittering happily as a new playmate had joined its game. It had rigid, awkward movements - not quite unlike many Ghost-types - and seemed to smirk with smug indifference. It taunted and jeered, before rushing forward again with the tenacity of a hungry lion. Though the Abomasnow had been quite content prior to watching its allies do the fighting for it, it now appeared to be quite alarmed at the potential this duo presented.

Ares, however, remained quite certain that this was a mediocre performance at best. He would spit up a concentrated slough of ash and cinder and spew it into the weasel's face, giving it a whiffer status. It careened past its intended target, and clawed desperately at its face. Ares would seize this opportunity and pepper it's back with an Ember attack, singing its fur and causing it to screech.

Kari charged forward again hoping to do more damage on top, but was met with a loss of balance and light-headedness, The poison began to do what it was intended for. Kari slowed down and started to stumble around awkwardly, Kari tried to power through this and headbutt the Weavile again, so he charged forward and ran into the whiffered Weavile once more before collapsing on the ground himself.

The Weavile, who consisted of a fragile and delicate frame, screeched once more as a rather thick, sturdy skull rammed itself into its body. It teetered, perhaps searching for some mechanism of balance within its ginger build, before collapsing into the powdery snow that pooled at its feet. Ares allowed a fierce gaze to fixate itself upon the ringleader, eyes narrowing as he attempted to intimidate. For the time being, he was too involved with the battle to notice his ally's condition, and merely growled at the Abomasnow.

"I can't believe this!" cried the giant white and green monstrosity, staring on flabbergasted towards the unfolding scene, "We created a blizzard, followed you all this way through the mountain, and sent our best heavyweight after you for this?! This can't be happening!" There was a layer of disbelief as it stated this aloud, finally succumbing to the idea that the only way to get things done was to do it himself. It took a sluggish, heavy step forward before roaring, "I'm the leader of the Whiteout Bandits! You won't be so lucky with me!" It would ram its feet into the ground, shooting gnarled, thorny roots into the earth as it used Ingrain.

Kari struggled to stand up, he would get up, take a few steps and fall again and every time he tried, it got worse, it was like his body did not want to co-operate with him. Kari heard the shouts of Abomasnow and worried that Ares would have a hard battle ahead of him, with no help from Kari, who couldn't really support Ares in this condition, without and supporting moves. Kari lied on the ground his face turned to the two combatants.

Ares could, for the moment, remain quite confident in their abilities. He bolstered up a hearty reply, waving a single hand in the air as he dismissed such a ridiculous claim. "You think I would be afraid of you simply because you can stir up a little weather?" he inquired, a narcissistic grin smearing across his face, "You couldn't do it before. Your blokes couldn't do it now. You're going do-"

Thud.

Tsukiakari had collapsed into the accumulating snow and whipping wind. For a moment, it didn't register with Ares that the Absol was down and out for the count - then, all of the sudden, he shifted his gaze from the white hound and onto the rooted foe. He snarled, allowing a hiss-like noise to sliver through his teeth, before shifting his feet. This made him mad: they had done something to this Pokemon that he had actually come to like! Smoke accumulated at his mouth as he readied his claws, and once more plunged the battlefield into blinding fog. It was just him then? Alright.

Kari had never felt the affects of poison as harsh as this, it was like it just shut down everything, his head pounding and dizzy, his limbs unable to move, his vision getting hazier as he watched Ares and the Abomasnow trade glares and hits. "Is this what dying feels like?" he thought to himself "I hope to Arceus I'm not going to die to these cretins" he thought as he let out a groan from the pain he was feeling.

Ares would not hesitate as soon as his SmokeScreen filled the air, allowing it to swelter and smolder like a festering object. Its noxious cloud, as thick as molasses, lingered in the frigid air and seemed to congeal and collect into a localized area. The Abomasnow, locked in by its own design, could do little as it clung to the atmosphere surrounding it, and merely allowed an inquisitive growl to warble in its throat. All at once, however, the Charmander would strike: his claws, hardened and curled with lethal intent, would swipe mercilessly at its plumage. Segments of leaves would fly up as he moved swiftly, and soon was smashed away by the hulking Ice-type. Pelted by hard crystals of ice, there was something quite unsatisfactory about this sort of battle. It would swing once again, this time hammering the little Fire-type into the blanketed earth with a colossal swing.

He wanted it to end.

He wanted to help Tsukiakari.

As the smoke clustered about the behemoth's husk, it became apparent that the smoke - due to its density - was ignitable. Since it had been produced without oxygen and had been moved into a point of solidification by the super-cold atmosphere, it was primed and ready. Ares, without a second thought, would hurl an Ember attack at the massive brute and watch the fireworks. He would revel in the sound of horrific screaming as the Abomasnow promptly uprooted itself and thrashed about, his leaves burning. He retreated, leaving his fallen comrades, and had thus given them a victory. It was hard earned and hard fought, but was a victory nonetheless.

Ribs and head pounding, the snowfall seemed to stutter and break, easing up and diminishing its copious amounts of precipitation. While Ares stood and gazed towards where the bandit leader had fled, he couldn't help but force himself into an upright position. It was important to maintain one's composure and stature, even if one's body screamed in protest. He would chance a glance towards Tsukiakari, and promptly move to his side, frantically saying, "Tsukiakari! Are you okay?"

Kari could barely move, the most he could do was lift his head to look at Ares, only to have it fall to the ground once more. He had watched the entire battle and he felt mad at himself for lying down during the most important part he felt the rage from himself swelling up, but he tried to disperse it, he didn't want to come off as mad at Ares. Kari gave a quiet "What do you think...?" to Ares as he closed his eyes, trying to relieve the pain in his head.

His hands would instantly fold as they were placed upon his hips, a sense of relief flushing over him as he heard Tsukiakari respond. That was seemingly a pretty typical response from the white-furred creature, so he was not entirely on Death's doorstep. The Charmander was no healer - every injury or disease that had come his way was staved off or healed with perseverance and the continuation of his daily routine. All he knew was that things were generally better to sleep off, and thus he would allow his haunches to acquaint themselves with the fresh layer of powdery snow. He vocalized his sentiment, aiming to soothe his partner's pain, "Well, you're as snappy as ever, so that's a good sign."
