| First topic message reminder :
The sun was shining brightly onto the rugged, sharp cliffs of the Black Mist Mountain, as a small, white spot was crawling across these black plains, an easy target for any Flying type choosing to attack. "Why...why did my clan...no, the clan have to live that far away from anything resembling civilisation again? Couldn't they - I dunno - live in a town or something?", the white spot asked himself, breathing heavily. It was Ned the Nincada, having recently fled from his old clan and now searching for a place to stay. On his journey, the Ground type had traversed much of the land, but a civilized Pokémon he hadn't encountered yet. He had no idea, where Grassveil Town was located, but he couldn't just return to the clan either. They would just continue their dirty work, without any concern for morals or truth. Who knew, maybe he would even take them out one day? That was if he would manage to find the guild or any Pokémon for starters. Hopefully that would happen soon - the little bug wasn't sure, whether he would be able to carry on much longer. | |

| "There still are limits. No matter, how much you train, you will not be able to run faster than a specific velocity, as your body will not be able to take the stress. If you try to go over that limit, muscles may be torn apart, bones may break and other injuries would prevent you from doing so. But wasn't there a friend of yours we were going to look for?" The Nincada was getting confused. How could the Dark type forget something of major importance such as this so easily? Was it maybe another thing, that the Poochyenna had in mind? But he pushed those thoughts aside. Such vile things were a thing of the past now. | |

| The canine creature cringed when it realize it had forgotten about its friend. "Uh...yes...I usually talk a lot more than I usually do when I'm worried...it helps keep the worry from getting to me and making me super depressed..." Proteus had pretty much tuned out the small talk by now, seeing no point in participating any further in the seemingly meaningless conversation. The ground was harsh against his belly, but luckily his tough scales kept it from being cut so easily and bleeding. He wondered how it would have been like if he had arms and legs, but suspected he would have looked rather ridiculous considering how long his body is. | |

| "So, shouldn't we, oh, I don't know, maybe be going RIGHT NOW?!" It was beyond comprehension for the Nincada, how anyone could lose sight of their goal that easily, especially since it appeared to be an extremely important one for the Dark type. No matter how scatterbrained one could possibly be, how could one allow for distractions to occupy one's mind like that? Or was there something else the Poochyenna was thinking about? No, this wasn't the time to consider such implausible theories, this was the time to act! They had a Pokémon to save! | |

| The poochyena remained silent, its ears falling back as if it were sorry and its head lowering in submission as if it were terrified. It was, the tone of the nincada's voice seemed to frighten it. The gyarados that had been staying out of it, or at least attempting to turned to the two, "Ned is correct, we should get going. We aren't going to find anything by sitting here and doing nothing. It's not like a mawile is going to come running at us holding a useful item!" - This dice is not existing.

| "Maybe not a Mawile, but how about we take care of that thing first?", Ned suggested, pointing at the Absol, that had been sneaking up on them silently, probably severely surprised about having been spotted. Luckily Nincada did not use their eyes to inspect their surroundings, but rather relied on smell and the smell of the Joy Ribbon it was wearing around its neck was clearly unmistakeable. Of course the Bug type was rather intimidated by the much larger Pokémon, but at least it was just a Dark type, which shouldn't be too difficult to overcome. A Flying or Fire type on the other hand... Ned shuddered. He didn't even want to think about things like that. | |

| A Wild TalonFlame appeared! Proteus turned his head to see a surprised, but devilish looking Absol. The gyarados did not move, seeing the rare item around the pokemon's neck. He turned his body towards the absol, about to offer some kind of trade for the item, but the absol had given a growl and slashed the blade that sat upon its head around in a Swords Dance. The pokemon glared at them, seeming to try and pressure or intimidate them. Proteus then figured that this pokemon did not feel like being civil in their trade and would rather take the items through force... The absol charged, the blade on its head shining in an attack!

| The Nincada sighed. "Why is it, that everyone and everything around here wants to fight us for no apparent reason? Do I have a "Kick me" sign attached to my back or something?" But as complaining wasn't going to get them anywhere, Ned instead raised his forelegs in front of his face, serving not only as protection against the incoming attack, but also as a focus for the energy he was channeling. Suddenly these forelegs began to shine in a silvery glow, as silver dust emanated from them, flowing in the Absol's direction. While it did not look like much, Silver Wind actually was one of the more powerful attacks at the Bug type's disposal. | |

| The absol hardly saw the wind coming, and was struck with it. Extra damage was dealt due to the strange nature of Dark Types being weak to bug types. The absol's head bobbed around as its blade began to glow, and a whirlwind began to surround it. Proteus had no idea what this white disaster pokemon was doing, but he knew he did not like it. The large pokemon raised his head up high and reared his head back as his jaws sank as low as they could go. From the beast's mouth, came a column of flames in a flamethrower attack. The flames rushed down and towards the absol, slightly striking it, but the whirlwind it had been conjuring protected most of it. (Absol is using Razor Wind) | |

| Even though it was a friend, who was using the attack, Ned cowered in fear upon facing the fury of the Gyarados' Flamethrower attack. Fire had always been a major fear for the Nincada, a truly destructive force indeed. However, this cowering caused him to be unable to dodge the sharp currents of air, that the Absol had sent at them, throwing the Bug type quite a distance through the air before he landed on the dark, rocky ground again. Why did everything around here have to know Flying type moves? | |

| Luckily for the Nincada, Razor Wind was a normal type move, and probably didn't do as much damage as an actual flying type could have done. The beast next to him was also stuck, and his column of flame was cut off as it stuck his underside. Proteus unleashed a Water Pulse towards the absol, who had merely leaped to the side and prepared another whirlwind to unleash upon the pokemon, Razor Wind was a popular move among the Absol, but the wait period for it to power up could cost it dearly as Proteus unleashed another Water Pulse that slipped through the whirl wind and struck it dead on the blade, the absol screeched but kept up the attack powering. Meanwhile, the poochyena was nowhere to be seen. | |

| Ned could not find the Dark type anywhere either, but they had more pressing matters to take care of right now. After finally managing to stand on all six legs again, the Nincada had to realize, that he wouldn't be able to do much at the moment. Would he attempt to use Leech Life, then Proteus would certainly hit him by accident, while Silver Wind would risk hitting the Gyarados as well. Scratch was out of the question for the same reasons as Leech Life. Contemplating his next actions, the Bug type felt a strange power surge through his body, as the blanket of clouds covering the skies had broken for a bit, letting a single ray of sunlight shine upon the gleaming, white insect. | |

| The beast, Proteus was struck by the Razor Wind as the absol unleashed its fury. Proteus had been about to attack once more until he noticed the small insect that was his acquaintance begin to be covered in sunlight. He kept the absol's attention through using another Water Pulse, the absol prepared another Razor wind attack so it could both charge up its attack as well as protect itself slightly from the pulse of water that had the potential to confuse it. The Water flew through the air but was easily torn apart this time by the wrath of the winds. | |

| While Ned was just cowering in fear, he found himself surprised as the Gyarados spontaneously switched to a much more defensive style of battling without any discernible reason to do so. Just as these thoughts crossed his mind, the Nincada realized, that the sun's rays were doing much more than just slightly warming his exoscelettal husk. An unknowm power was building inside the Ground type, soon having grown too powerful to be contained anymore. Without him knowing what had happened at all, a huge beam of light, coloured in a greenish yellow burst forth in the Absol's direction, scorching the few weeds still fighting for survival on the barren ground. "Wha-wha-wha-wha...what in the Shoop da Whoop just happened?" | |

| The absol's eyes widened and a short screech was heard before it was cut off. Proteus was astonished to see a brilliant Yellow-Green beam similar to a laser shoot forth from the nincada. He was glad he was nowhere near the absol, since even being near the beam gave him a slight chill. It was a grass type move, he was a water type. Although he had a flying secondary type the grass type still haunted him from his days as a golden flopping piece of sushi. The beam finally faded to reveal the absol on the ground. The absol was not moving aside from the rise and fall of its flank. It was alive, but down for the count. | |

| "I...the...what the...what the f...What in the Ghost World did I just do?!" As it was quite obviously rather easy to see, the small Nincada was completely dumbfounded at the amount of mayhem he had just released without even intending to do so. Where did that beam come from and could he recreate that thing on purpose? And how could he prevent accidentally hurting others with it? Between all those thoughts, one small idea was beginning to take form. Maybe he didn't have to be as weak as he thought. Maybe, if he would train some more, he could use even more powerful attacks and help Pokémon with them! For the first time since he was born, the small Bug type had something to fight for. Something he chose for himself. His own dream. | |
