Roseli Academy

Roseli Academy: A prestigious Pokemon Academy. Here, trainers mainly from rich Kalos backgrounds are taught to be the very best, like no one ever was. It is located on one of the points if Kalos, specifically the Southwestern most one. Here is where many young trainers get their start to do great things in the future of their Pokemon careers.

This year, however, was different because of 5 students. They were the known as the Regional Representatives. Each budding trainer was from a different region and none of them had rich backgrounds. Instead, they were all full of potential and ended up having all of their expenses paid by the school to attend this famous boarding school, including covering the cost for their supplies, uniforms, and books. Since they came from outside of Kalos, a small yet fancy ship had picked them up instead of the usual train that brought students native to the region to Roseli Academy.  

They had been picked up in the order of first Kanto, then Johto, Hoenn, Orre, Sinnoh and finally Unova. The cruise had picked up the Kanto representative 3 days ago and the Unova representative only yesterday. Now their journey was coming to its end. The ship's intercom had announced they'd dock at the Academy in under an hour and that everyone should get their uniforms on and pack their things. They were to meet up on the deck in a few minutes to get a quick briefing.

Cassidy "Cass" Green was surprised to hear the announcement that the ship had almost reached its destination, yet relieved at the same time. Being the Johto representative, she had been one of the first picked up, and thus one of the future students who had been on this darned ship for the longest. It had been a boring ride, spent tinkering with some of the technology supplied by the school and reading the textbooks. Cass wasn't really social with the other students who she would end up spending a lot of time with. She had been able to pick up their names but only striked up a conversation with them once or twice.

Cassidy's room in the ship was about the size of a normal bedroom. It wasn't anything really special, but it was comfortable. In the corner was a closet, and the slender black-haired girl began looking through it, pulling out suitcases, bags, and supplies she had taken out, along with her uniform.

Cass quickly undressed from the t-shirt and shorts she had slept in ( it was only around 9 AM ) and changed into her beige uniform. She studied herself in a tall mirror as she fixed her hair into two short twin-tails. Her uniform wasn't the best thing, but it was usable and would work. She didn't like the plaid brown skirt, though she didn't like skirts in general. She figured all the rich kids were used to wearing them, or at least the fashionable ones. She was neither. Skirts made her feel uncomfortable and exposed. She had watched enough anime to be wary of panty shots.

To remedy this, Cass found a pair of shorts that were shorter than her skirt and slip them on under her uniform skirt. There, much better, she thought to herself. Once that was settled, Cassidy began to finish repacking her supplies.

Liam sighed. He had completely forgotten his manners. Some people found the smell of pipe smoke distasteful. Just what was so bad about it, Liam would never understand. He was using a social blend, which even sacrificed some taste for a pleasant, full smell. Still, it couldn't be helped. Some people were going to be prudes and there was nothing he could do about it.

Disheartened, Liam cupped his hand over the egg and in a moment the fire extinguished, deprived of oxygen. He then put the pipe away. He would empty it later.

"What a drag," he said. "Is this place really all that uptight about smoking? Jeez... What a bother." He leaned back in his chair with his hands clasped behind his head. "Oh well. I guess I'll just have to figure a way around it."

Liam seemed oddly calm, considering what had just occurred. Thankfully, the guy had always had a very mellow temper, making him nearly impossible to phase. He continued to stare at August, his eyes half-closed, as if he was somewhere far off, staring at something a thousand miles away.

"But what about you. huh? You've really got no place to be giving me the business about school rules. What's the big deal about skirts anyway? Afraid of a strong breeze or something?

"Nah. See, I don't think you and I are so different. Yeah, we're worlds apart, but we're still pretty close. I'm gonna keep smoking this pipe in my pocket, and you're going to keep wearing those pants, no matter what the rules say. And so what, right? We want it the way we like it, and 'No' just won't cut it. Isn't that right, Miss Rebel?"

He finished and then, thinking better of it, added, "Not that I mean anything by it, or something. Just an observation, y'know?"

"But what about you. huh? You've really got no place to be giving me the business about school rules. What's the big deal about skirts anyway? Afraid of a strong breeze or something? Nah. We want it the way we like it, and 'No' just won't cut it. Isn't that right, Miss Rebel?" The boy had told her.

"I'm not 'Giving you the business' I'm just giving a suggestion that would benefit everyone. As for why I loathe skirts, that's for me to know and you to mind your own business about," August growled. She had a hatred for the things since her mother would constantly have her wear them back at home, where she was to be a "proper" woman. The teenager had finally found a moment of freedom in wearing something that was not a skirt, since the school would be more reasonable about the skirts than her mother she had hoped.

As for August's thoughts towards the boy came to think of him as an annoyance. She began to wonder if he was simply being a giddy little boy because he was on a ship full of women. Maybe his act will straighten up once we get to the school... she thought before playing with her mobile rolling bag, moving it back and forth in sync with the ship's rocking. The girl wished that they were at the school already, she wanted to get to work, hit the books, get school over with so she could be free to do what she wanted once more! Though she did not really know what she truly wanted to do though. She knew that it had to be something with pokemon, since she adored the creatures so much. August knew what field to work in, but not a job.

The woman remained silent after her words with the boy, as if she wasn't interested in speaking with him anymore.

Liam was disappointed. Here he has hoped to find someone of a similar mind. Someone who found all the rules and conventions as loathsome as he did. Instead, this girl was just an easily offended, self-righteous prig. If everyone at this school was going to be like this, Liam suspected he would go insane. Still, people like this were exceedingly easy and fun to pester. Perhaps he could find some enjoyment from that.

It was evident the girl no longer wanted to talk, as she was now fiddling with her luggage and not paying a bit of attention. Liam answered to this, "Whatever... Have it your way." He got up slowly and started out of the hall. For a moment, he glanced at the quiet girl who had been standing by herself all this time. Perhaps she would be more his speed. She certainly seemed different than all the rest. Still, he decided against it. With people like that, it is best to leave them be until they approach you, lest you turn them off you from the very beginning.

And so, Liam headed outside to the starboard of the ship. Leaning over the railing, he could see the island where the Academy was approaching slowly. The sea breeze flowed through his hair and the waves roared past as the ship cut it's way through the water.

It was all quite relaxing. Liam could see no harm in making it a bit more relaxing.

He once again pulled out his pipe, which still had plenty of tobacco in the bowl, and began to light it. Oddly enough, the stem had seemed to grow in length, now measuring roughly a foot in length. He struggled for about a minute relighting the pipe because of the strong breeze. Soon however, he had it going again and was enjoying the taste and solitude. The longer stem provided a cooler smoke and brought out the taste that much more.

He sighed and puffed as he leaned back against the railing, watching the island get closer and closer.

He wished it could stay like this for quite a long time. Content for the moment, he took a long puff and let the smoke roll slowly out of his mouth.

Lilith was beginning to feel bored.
There was nothing she could do at the moment, yet she couldn't leave as breakfast wasn't over yet and thus it would be awkward of her to leave. Other activities did not seem to be performable in this hall and the last thing she would do was to start a conversation with anyone.
Any attempts at doing so would probably end in disappointments anyway.
Hopefully they would reach the island as soon as possible so she would finally be able to get away from all these other people.
Now she would just have to appear as uninteresting as possible just so noone would get the idea of striking up a conversation with her.

Cass watched silently as there seemed to be drama between the only boy and the girl with shorts. She watched as the boy got up and glanced at the other girl who had also been silent this whole time, and then left. No one had payed any attention to her. It felt odd that way, but not in a bad way. She sighed and looked at her food again. With the barf out of sight, she felt hungry again and then began to eat, still in silence. She hurried up a bit, as she felt that it was almost time to leave. Cass wondered what would happen on her first day.

As the boat approached the school, multiple artificial islands could be seen on either side. They were all rather curious. Each represented a different habitat, and some even had strange weather patterns that would only cover their corresponding island. This effect was likely caused by specially trained Pokemon owned by the academy. One was rocky and had caves and mountains on it, while another had similar, smaller mountains and a ground covered in ice, snow, and pine trees. It was lightly snowing on that island. One was a grassy meadow with a forest along with patches of fresh water here and there, and there was also one with a jungle and also what seemed to be a ruin of sorts. The last two were a swamp and finally a desert.

Not too far in the was where the ship would dock to deliver the representatives to the academy. It could be seen easily and in any minute the boat would finally reach its destination. Another message was sent out over the intercom, alerting the students that they will be arriving shortly and that they should finish up breakfast or whatever else they were doing.
