The Silver Veil

A golden magikarp approached the tower and poked his head out of the water to look at the entrance. The door was huge. The tower was huge. Everything, was huge. It was larger than him in comparison. He swallowed. Luckily he had friends to come and help him. A Omanyte that desired to "save" this world, and a Milotic that was friendly and dreamed of treasure. Proteus looked at the entrance, this was going to be a tough and long trip.

A large serpentine Pokemon made it's way through the water. It's streamlined form enabled it to move at quite high speeds, whilst the few of the sun's rays that made it down here from the ocean's surface glittered across the Milotic's beautiful red and blue scales.
Swiftly, Serenne made her way towards the arranged destination outside the entrance to the submerged tower they were to explore. Spotting a familiar golden Magikarp a short distance away, she quietly moved towards him, her movements near silent.
"Hello Proteus!" she greeted him cheerfully, clearly excited for the adventure in which they would embark on today.

Behind the Magikarp a small, shelled creature followed, its ten twisting tentacles rhytmically contracting as they propelled the Omanyte through the waters.
Revira was beginning to grow a bit impatient. They had been swimming through these corals for a considerable amount of time after all. Once again she began to ask:
"Are we there y-umph."
Before she could finish her sentence, the Rock type had already swum into the tower, turning around in surprise. Before her a majestic tower filled the Omanyte's field of vision. Not even at home had she seen such a building.
"What is that, Proteus? Is that this dungeon-thing you were speaking of?"
Revira began turning around to look the Magikarp in the eyes to be polite as she spotted a creature, that was unlike anything she had ever seen before. Without hesitation, she approached the serpentine being, greeting it with the words:
"Hello! You are beautiful! And I am Revira! I will save this world!"

"Hello Serenne, thanks for meeting me here!" The Magikarp chimed happily, "This is Revira, she's going to be coming with us as well." The golden fish looked at the tower with excitement and pulled out a Silver Veil, it glowed slightly as if in reaction to the tower, "We should go now, it'd be a waste to spend all day out here. We should take our time though, this place could be more dangerous than we thought..."

Serenne blinked at the abrupt greeting, "Hi," she smiled weakly, not entirely knowing how to respond to Revira's greeting. She appreciated the compliment of course, and thought that the Omanyte's intentions to save the world were quite noble... though she wasn't quite sure why she felt the need to proclaim the latter right at that moment.
Nevertheless she seemed nice and Serenne was looking forward to exploring the tower.
"Alright. Seeing as you're the one who brought us together Proteus, I think it would be suitable for you to take the lead!" grinned the Milotic.

So the beautiful...creature...something was apparently named Serenne. And she seemed to be nice. That was wonderful! The Omanyte didn't want to work with meanies or bullies in that dun-gon-thingy after all. Traveling through the thingy with her friends would be so exciting. They could learn so much!
Swimming over to the wall of the tower, the Rock type decided to crawl around on it for now in search of an entrance. Maybe there were hidden buttons here or something! A tower like this would have to have a secret entrance after all!
"So...where's the hidden button? We need to find the entrance to learn after all. Maybe we'll even find information about agriculture in there! Then you could all cultivate various plants!"

Proteus hardly knew half the words the small omanyte had spoken, but turned around and faced the large tower. It had an opening for a door. It seemed like any could get through, but according to the absol it would be futile without the veil. He approached the tower, the veil glowing slightly brighter as he swam through the entrance and into the massive first floor.
"I wonder what it'll be like down deeper?" he spoke, "since it's so dark up here..."

"I have no idea. I guess we should be cautious just in case though," replied Serenne, "After all it's likely that danger could lurk in the darkness..."
Even with the veil lighting the way for them, it was unlikely they would just be able to walk through the tower. There would probably be hostile Pokemon inside, just like everywhere else, and maybe even traps due to the legends that surround the place. The Milotic followed Proteus, keeping an eye out as she did so. However she let the smaller Omanyte enter first

"Hey, wait for me! Have you even been listening to me? This probably isn't the correct entrance! It's too obvious!"
Why weren't they paying attention? Or were the reators of this dungeon not creative enough to build a secret entrance? Either that or they should believe, that the main entrance was the wrong one just because it was so obvious! Could it be, that this world was much more advanced, than Revira had thought of it to be? Maybe even that fire on the ceiling served some strange purpose.
The Omanyte would surely find out soon. Either there were defense mechanisms inside the building, indicating a relatively high understanding of technology or they weren't.
The Rock type sincerely hoped for the first option. They would be able to learn so much from each other!

"Too obvious that it would send explorers spending hours looking around maybe?" Proteus suggested, since the silk seemed to glow a bit brighter. He gave a swish of his tail and spoke once more, "So...what do you think is at the bottom of this thing? The absol said something about a legendary beast, but I can't remember much about it..." Proteus huffed in annoyance at his own terrible memory. Just why did his memory have to be so bad? Was it because of his species? Was he not evolved enough to be highly intelligent as the others yet?

"From what I understand, the veil Proteus carries is supposed to lead us, Revira," blinked Serenne in response to the Omanyte, "I can only see from it's glowing that we must have picked the right direction," she reasoned, continuing to swim through the flooded tower. It was intriguing however, that despite being completely flooded, the tower had the features of any normal building. The only difference being that the bottom of the tower had no entrance, with the entrance being at the top, and any explorer having to climb downwards to reach it's 'peak'.

Serenne remained silent as she took in the Submerged Tower's architecture. The patterns on the walls catching her eye. Though she knew not what they meant, they were still beautiful.
"I don't know much about the tower itself," the Milotic replied to Proteus' question, "However legends have always said that the secret to one of the Seven Treasures is supposed to lie in this tower."

"Huh? It's supposed to guide us? So you haven't run any tests on it yet? With a few studies, we could find out, whether that's actually the truth or we're being led into a trap or worse!"
The two of them had decided to simply go and look around without any concern for the scientific method? Were they crazy? Hoping to get at least moderatley verified information, the Omanyte asked:
"Do you know, which cultural group these legends hail from? Maybe we could determine their validity. And what are the Seven Treasures by the way? Are there only seven things, that could be called "treasures" in this world? That's actually quite sad..."
So the catastrophe seemed to be affecting everyone's minds! This world really was in quite a dire situation! And since they were here already, they might as well search for the cure in this building!
With a mixture of curiosity, excitement and pity Revira followed her friends.

The magikarp listened to his friends ramble about the building, he kept his eyes on the scarf, wondering just what was going to be ahead. He kept to the lead, since he was the one with the item, and was the first to be struck when something decided it did NOT like him being in its territory. The certain pokemon had friends as well.

This dice is not existing.

Serenne chuckled. The Omanyte's logic was certainly intact, but she didn't seem to grasp the idea that sometimes it was wise just to trust in things. After all, not everything was science and proven in this world. There were so many mysteries out there just waiting for explorers to discover their secrets.
The Seven Treasures however, Serenne knew a fair amount about.
"Oh I don't mean it like that," she smiled, "More like they're a set of seven similar treasures, so others call them the 'Seven Treasures' for short. There are plenty more things out there in the world that others class as treasure."

The Milotic trailed off as she heard the sounds of others swimming in their direction. Turning to where Proteus was a little ahead of them, Serenne quickly caught up, eyeing the hostile pokemon cautiously.
"Are you alright?" she asked the golden Magikarp.

"Then that description should be changed! They should call them the "Seven specific, relatively similar Treasures" or use a similar term! "Seven Treasures" is mislaeding! And especially since it would be so easy to improve, I'm quite shocked that it hasn't been done already!"
Didn't the Pokémon here believe in science, the scientific method or even precise language?
Everything could be proven with science and everything should be improved with science.
Not even seeing, where she was swimming, Revira hadn't noticed the feral Pokémon approaching their team, nonchalantly continuing on her path through what appeared to be the ruins of an ancient tower.
Who had built it and why?
Maybe someone wanted to extinguish the ceiling-fire?
