More Joy

It was beautiful. After Revira had emerged into that other world, all she had seen up to now were things she wouldn't even have thought of as possible before. Crime. Pollution. Hatred. The show Johto Shore.
After all those horrifying things she had finally reached a calm, clean place again. An underwater forest, full of corals of every imaginable kind. In the distance, some Pokémon were swimming, although Revira couldn't figure out, who or what they were.
Maybe she should approach them? They might know, what had happened to turn this world into what it was now. Maybe Revira could fix it.
But how? She didn't even know much about this world at all.
A world, that had never been discovered by anyone before her and those few others, who ventured out as well. Maybe she could become a hero and save this world!

Proteus merely flailed his body about as he attempted to dislodge the wound inducing thorn from his side. He finally freed himself and spoke, "Not 'Ow' as in the word, 'Ow' as in we're being attacked!" The golden fish spoke. He huffed in annoyance at the Horsea, which merely laughed at his attempt to anger it. He stayed as far away from it as possible though, for a the spikes on this one looked larger than normal and seemed a bit sharper than normal. This horsea was probably a fair bit stronger than usual.

Now the Omanyte was even more confused.
"But that's not a word, that's a sentence! ANd it doesn't begin with "Y" either..."
Finally a ray of light seemed to have broken through the clouds of absentmindedness, that were preventing her mind from making the connection.
"Oh, you mean it is the actual, physical sense and not as part of the game! Why didn't you say so? And who is attacking us? I can't see anyone around here except for us and that happy Pokémon over there, that seems to be a Water type. Who would do such a mean thing? We need to defeat the meanie before it can attack the other Pokémon as well! Maybe it's hiding underground!"
With determination Revira was digging through the ocean ground, hoping to find the evil creature, who would do such mean things like attacking peaceful Pokémon with Joy Seeds!
All she found was an item however.

Proteus was surprised that the pokemon had not seen him be attacked. After all, he had been attacked right in front of her! At least he thought, since he thought that the shell also had a means of looking behind her since evolution would have been a bit awkward and left them blind to where they had been going.
While the magikarp was distracted, he was struck again by the Horsea. The horsea however, would appear as if it was minding its own business if the Omanyte were to turn around. It seemed like a fun idea to see if it could beat up its partner behind the pokemon's back.

Even though she was completely oblivious to the Magikarp being attacked by the Horsea of all Pokémon, she suddenly remembered something quite important.
"Oh my! I am so sorry, but we appear to have forgotten to introduce ourselves! I'm Revira and I will save this world from the fire on the ceiling!"
Hoping for the Water type to forgive them, the appologetic Omanyte swam over to her newest "friend", trying to hug it. However, before she even reached it...well...she reaced it in a way.
As Revira was unable to see anything in the direction she was swimming into, it came to the inevitable.
Feeling the collision with her adversary throughout her entire body, a shocked Omanyte hastily turned around, stammering:
"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry! Is everything okay? I didn't mean to hurt you or anything? I hope we can still be friends!"

The horsea had swam behind the Omanyte as it turned its back on its friend once more and bashed into the magikarp once more. The magikarp did not take it this time, for he fought back at last. He glowed a faint white light as he used tackle attack on the Horsea, pushing it through the water a little bit with the force of the blow before the pokemon swam straight up to attack from above. The Horsea slammed into Proteus once more and resumed its "peaceful" appearance as Proteus was shoved into the ground from the force of the blow and his head was now buried under sand as he frantically waved his tail about to free himself.

Revira may be an oblivious Pokémon, but stupid she wasn't. The Horsea had clearly attacked her dear friend Proteus! At least it was always in the same spot the injured Magikarp was in! And a coincidence wasn't something this would likely be.
"I am very disappointed of you, young Pokémon!", she scolded the meanie of a Water type.
"To think that I had trusted you! One does not simply attack other Pokémon! Haven't you heard of manners?"
Quite motivated to defeat the Horsea now, Revira tried to get close to it to be able to use her Constrict attack. The Water type seemed to pride itself on mobility, so that would be the best point to attack.

The horsea was struck with the attack, confined to the small shell pokemon's tentacles and unable to move or swim much in the way it wanted. It thrashed its tail about wildly, since it was free, but was only tossed about by it wildly as its fins were unable to direct it.
Proteus managed to free himself of the dangerous sand tomb his face had been buried in. The pokemon shook about wildly, attempting to free his eyes of the sand particles that were still stuck. He managed to free his eyes of the pain and turned to Tackle the horsea, still a bit blind and not seeing the omanyte there.

Focussing on the Horsea and its sudden movements, the Omanyte didn't seee the Magikarp charging either, her hard shell partially in the Water type's path.
Why were there so many mean bullies around, hurting others for no reason?
Didn't they know, that pain was bad? Was there another reason?
Were they being controlled? But doing that would be evil as well, so that Pokémon would have to have a reason to be evil. This was quite a confusing thought, that was partially distracting Revira as she tried to hold onto the agressive attacker.

The Magikarp, having felt contact and was still partially blind, began to flail about. His white cloak of power that seemed to allow his attack to function glowed brilliantly as he smashed into the horsea. Proteus was becoming exhausted, and his Flail attack was assisting him in dealing damage because of his exhaustion. His instincts to live at all costs kicked in as he flailed about, the magikarp finally realized that the omanyte was attatched the horsea and finally stopped attacking, "Oh Arceus i'm sorry!"

Once again the Omanyte's Rock typing protected her from quite a large amount of damage.
Without her sturdy shell, she might even have fainted from the Magikarp's attack.
But even with the amount of protection she had, enduring the Flail she had just been hit with was quite a difficult task.
Smacked off of the Horsea, Revira was trying to regain control of her body, which was now floating through the ocean, away from the field of battle.
She needed to return there to help her friend.
Accidents happen and Proteus was in danger, so this wasn't the time to be angry!

The horsea was also struck with the flail attack, it screeched in pain as Proteus slammed and slapped it around with his flailing body. The horsea was relieved though at the same time, for both were weak now, and near fainting. The horsea snorted as Proteus once again attempted to use flail attack on it, but the horsea shot a powerful blast of water at him, using water gun!
The blast of water stuck Proteus. The magikarp cried out one last time before being enveloped in darkness, floating in the middle of the water sideways as his body was limp, Proteus had fainted!

Shocked to hear her friend's cry, Revira decided, that it was time to get serious.
"You. Did. Not. Just. Knock. Out. My. FRIEND!"
Blind with rage, the Omanyte charged in the general direction of the Horsea, hoping to ram into it with her shell. Still, she was unable to see anything in the direction she was swimming in, so she just had to hope it would work. Either she would manage to hit the Water type or they were most certainly completely and utterly screwed.
But she wouldn't give up. Noone was allowed to hurt her friends and knocking them out was even worse!

The Horsea would pay...

The horsea was struck with the shell. It screeched in pain, it felt its own vision fading. It snorted at the omanyte before quickly swimming away. The horsea swam around the fainted magikarp since it did not want to anger his friend even more.
Proteus was unable to move, his vision was black and he could not move his body. He was unaware of everything around him and unaware that he was even knocked out. The last thing he knew was the powerful blast of water smashing into his face and then nothing. Proteus was currently in the slumber's bliss of oblivion.

Seeing the Horsea swim away, Revira's attention turned to the injured Proteus lying on the ground.
Seriously concerned, she descended to the ocean ground besides him, subtly poking him with one of her tentacles.
"Hey...are you okay? Can you hear me? Wake up! You can't faint here!"
Even though it would be difficult with her abyssmal field of vision, the Omanyte decided to hold watch, trying to defend her friend from any meanies, that might approach them.
Revira usually had her head far up in the clouds, but with hurting her friends she knew no mercy.
Those evil Pokémon would rue the day they had decided to become evil!

Proteus heard something that pierced into his forcefully induced slumber, it was the calling of the Omanyte he traveled with. He opened his eyes(Magikarp have eyelids right? 0-0 /doesn't know fish anatomy) and noticed he was on the seafloor. He shot straight up, using his fin to push himself upright, "WHAT HAPPENED!?" he called in surprise. He could not remember why he was asleep, had they camped there for a bit and he fell asleep? Did he eat a sleep seed? Was he affected by some mystical orb?
Memories came back to him as the seconds passed, "Oh...right...a-are you ok?" he asked the other pokemon. He himself felt weaker than ever. The pokemon's health was abysmally low and he had nothing to protect himself with. The only upside was his flail attack was stronger than ever.
