More Joy

It was beautiful. After Revira had emerged into that other world, all she had seen up to now were things she wouldn't even have thought of as possible before. Crime. Pollution. Hatred. The show Johto Shore.
After all those horrifying things she had finally reached a calm, clean place again. An underwater forest, full of corals of every imaginable kind. In the distance, some Pokémon were swimming, although Revira couldn't figure out, who or what they were.
Maybe she should approach them? They might know, what had happened to turn this world into what it was now. Maybe Revira could fix it.
But how? She didn't even know much about this world at all.
A world, that had never been discovered by anyone before her and those few others, who ventured out as well. Maybe she could become a hero and save this world!

Proteus swam along, a bit irritated that he STILL wasn't finding as many joy seeds as he thought he was. He had just returned from helping a Feebas evolve into a graceful Milotic, and assisted a strange Carvannah in traveling through the hidden abyss. The swishing of his fins propelled himself forward in the rather chilly waters. He had returned to the Coral Forest in search of more of the delicious seeds. He was scanning the floor more than actually searching though, looking to pass the time more than anything else really since he had gotten bored of the exhausting search. He continued to swim, until he bumped into something hard, like a shell.

Revira flinched as she had apparently bumped into something. Due to her body structure, she had to swim backwards and thus usually couldn't see, where she was going. At least her shell protected her from getting injured...
"That's so impractical! Why can't I have eyes on my back? Maybe there's an item, that can do that...", the Omanyte thought, not even remembering to turn around at first. When she finally remembered, she was thoroughly surprised to see her field of vision filled with gold. Had she found a hidden treasure?
Her excitement quickly subsided and was replaced by disappointment however as she discovered, that it was just a Magikarp, being oddly-coloured for some reason. Remembering her wish to fix this world, she asked:
"Hello, I'm Revira! I have discovered your world! Why is all of this happening and how can I save you all?"

Proteus stared at the onamyte for a moment before speaking, "Wh-what? Save? Who needs saving?" The fish pokemon was confused, he had simply wandered into the strange pokemon. He did not know the pokemon's species, was it new? Had he discovered some species that had been hidden away all this time and were just now beginning to wander into the world? Was this one different from everything else and changing just like him? He began to grow excited, and it showed in his voice as he spoke, "Hello Revira, I'm Proteus!"

"Huh? Isn't it obvious? There are Pokémon, who aren't nice to each other, some even being mean! In some places, there is trash lying around and there even is a place on the ceiling that's on fire! It is obvious, that some kind of catastrophe has happened here and I will save you!"
It was plain for all to see, yet the strange new Pokémon didn't seem to notice any of this at all. Have they been brainwashed? No, that couldn't be. Noone would do such a thing after all. Maybe it was an accident? Then she would have to find the source of this all and help the poor being, that caused all this to fix it.
Hopefully she would find the reason for all the horrible things happening soon. This world had to return to the beauriful state it had once been in! Probably...

"Well, yes that's obvious..." Proteus was a bit surprised that this pokemon believed that she could save the entire planet. He was not the type to put down such a belief though, so he simply smiled, "Well, I don't need much saving. I'm just looking for these things called Joy Seeds to help prepare me to go on a journey."
He was about to say more, but he froze. He felt something moving him. At first he was only slowly moving to the side of the Onamyte. Then he picked up speed and began to be tossed about by the ocean's currents, "Ok! Ok! I need saving, I need saving!" he cried as the turrets battered him about. He was helpless against the currents, being a magikarp which the weakest of the weak.

Strange...the new Pokémon didn't seem to need any help at all. But their world could be so much better! Maybe those Joy Seeds he mentioned were the key to all this...with enough experimenting and studying the catastrophe might be stopped! Absorbed in her thoughts, she didn't even notice the Magikarp's problem until a loud cry reached her ear.
For some strange reason, the Water type was rapidly swimming in various directions, struggling.
Maybe he had forgotten how to swim? Or was this another effect of that catastrophe?
No matter the reason, he obviously was in need of help.
Without hesitating for a second, Revira approached the helpless Magikarp only to be thrown around by the currents even more than the fish. Not only was she lighter, but her body wasn't as streamlined either.
Whatever invisible force it might be, that was doing this to them, should stop right now, because that's mean!
As Revira finally managed to get a hold of that golden Pokémon, she released the air, she had been storing in her shell and replaced it with water. This not only caused bubbles to emerge out of the shell, but it also increased her weight to allow her to drag the Magikarp deeper and away from that mean force.
Hopefully it would work...

Proteus panicked slightly as he felt tentacles wrap around him and also felt himself be dragged down towards the coral and away from the torrents. Once they reached the bottom he freed himself from the onamyte's grasp, "Thank you!" he said happily when he realized it was just the onamyte from earlier. He had been about to say more, but he heard something in the distance, like a swish of a body through water, "What was that?" he asked.

"Woo! Another friend! Or is that the meanie, who made this evil magic that threw you around? Maybe it'll stop if we just ask nicely! That force could be used as a kind of transport system, don't you think? We could make the world so much better!"
Revira didn't even think of the possibility of the sound being a Pokémon, that would attack them on sight. Noone would do such a horrible thing after all. They just needed to tell it, how it could use its powers and they would be one step closer to reaching the utopia of her home again!
Helping those Pokémon...Revira liked the thought.
Maybe all of this is only happening, because those Pokémon don't know, how to use their abilities for good and are trying to find out!
"We need to tell everyone how they could use their powers to save the world!", she suddenly blurted out.

A buizel did not agree with the Onamyte's thinking, it instead jetted though the water and attempted to bash into the magikarp. It missed and ended up swimming directly in between the two. Proteus was paralyzed with shock for a moment as the orange being flashed right in front of him. He recovered when he saw the onamyte in front of him again and turned to see the buizel glaring at them as it held a TM Water Pulse in its mouth. Proteus was a bit intimidated by the new arrival, for it didn't look too happy...
"I don't think he's willing to help!" he claimed.

Revira was shocked by the sudden attack - probably evenmoreso than her newest friend. Why was that orange thing so mean? She needed to tell it about her idea!
"Hey, you! Could you please stop attacking us? If you do, you could start a long-range public transportation system and stop the apocalypse!"
It was easily recognizeable that the Buizel did not agree with the Omanyte at all, mostly because it hadn't understood a single word. Believing, that she had been making fun of its intelligence, the Water type decided to attack her for now, quickly covering the distance between them with the aptly named Quick Attack.
Having been hit, Revira was thrown back a sizeable distance before she regained control again.
"That meanie isn't even listening! We'll make it listen!"

Proteus watched as his newly found friend was attacked by the buizel. The golden fish gave a frown before swimming his way over to the buizel and attacking it, using a flail attack. The attack was feeble and weak, since Proteus was not damaged and the attack was powered the more Proteus was harmed. The magikarp wanted the buizel to at least stop harming his innocent friend and harm him instead so his flail attack would become stronger.

Even though she had been knocked back, her hard shell protected the Omanyte from most of the damage. Now Revira got serious. Even though she was a rather tolerant Pokémon, deliberately hurting others was going too far. Far too far.
Now Revira meant business.
Swimming back to the Buizel, she wrapped her tentacles around it, squeezing it as powerfully as it was possible for her. It didn't listen, so it had to feel now.
And they would find another way to create that transit system...

The buizel screamed in both rage and pain as the small shelled pokemon wrapped itself around it and pinned its arms to its sides. It was even more outraged when the magikarp swam up and began bashing into its back.
"This. Is. For. Attacking. Us!" The golden fish called with each time he swam uselessly into the buizel. Though the buizel found Proteus more as an annoyance than a pain. The buizel struggled a bit before trying something devious.
It spoke, "All right, all right I'll stop!" its voice was feminine, revealing it to be a female buizel. The buizel waited for them to let go, so she could attack while their guard was down.

In her naivety, Revira didn't even think about the possibility, that the Buizel might have been trying to trick them. In fact, she didn't believe, that such a thing would be possible even.
Almost immediately releasing her victim from the grasp of her tentacles, she then swam back a short distance to give the Water type its space.
"So hope isn't lost for this world yet. That is wonderful. Now, if you could please stop being evil, we could save the world together and maybe even extinguish the burning ceiling! We could become heroes!"
Obviously the orange Pokémon didn't quite agree with the Omanyte's plans, compressing water in front of herself before launching it at Revira in the form of a Water Gun.
As the shelled Pokémon hadn't been expecting an attack at all, she was directly hit by it, now convinced, that her attacker was beyond redemption.
"It. Is. On."
