A Burning Leaf

Jake went back to Icicle Woods to get stronger. He looked around at the blanket of snow, the ice covered trees, and the frosty caves. He walked around in an uneventful few minutes, and then heard the rustle of icy bushes a couple feet away from him.

Jake started to stretch when he heard Twayblade's response. "I was just muttering it to myself." The Tepig replied, "I just need to stretch and I'll be ready to go." As he got up from stretching his legs, he went over to Twayblade. "Ready!" He exclaimed suddenly, realizing that the Sun was already fully up, and that it was in his eyes.

"Alrighty then," replied Twayblade, glancing over her shoulder to speak. As the Tepig has been stretching his legs, she had moved out from under the roots of the tree and was sat in the soft new layer of snow that had fallen during the night. As the sun had risen, the light falling upon the layer of snow had switched from the fiery orange hues and was now pure daylight. It caused the stark white snow to be almost bright in one's eyes after wandering out from a darkened area.
