A New Leaf (Open)

"Pecha Forest, huh," the Minccino reads from the sign. He glances towards the forest ahead wondering what could be lurking in there. Beginning to smile, he rushed in the forest without hesitation. The Minccino, who is named Echo, runs to a tree and quickly scrambles up it. Echo begins to settle down and rests on the branch. While getting comfortable, he notices the true beauty of the woods and admires the scene of it. The lush shrubs and bushes seem so lovely and the grass also seems to be a soothing emerald color. Shades of blue litter the sky with the sun in the middle of it as if a ruler.

Everything here seems wonderful. Echo, still in awe, sighs and slowly gets down from the tree. He remembered that this forest most likely has Pokemon in it, so he would try to find some. The little Minccino waddles over to a bush which was next to a path. He would wait until someone passed by and would then jump out to greet the Pokemon. Echo chuckled at the thought of it, he wanted to surprise the first Pokemon he meets.

16 - 5 = 11 Energy.

A small Treecko passing through the Pecha Forest was thinking how nice the breeze was, the rustling of the leaves and grass whispering in her ear. Kimori was taking a walk through this forest as a sort of second attempt to get to the Fallen Leaf Copse, a place that she had heard about through her mother's stories. Apparently it was a very pretty place, stepping stones placed for Pokemon that couldn't access it through flying or swimming. It was Kimori's resolve to visit the Copse, but the first time she tried she had a bit of bad luck, getting rather lost. So she tried again after about a week of preparation.

She felt confident this time. She truly did. She even climbed a nearby tree to survey her surroundings, and what she saw was an expanse of woodland, but nothing that she thought could be the Copse. Hm... This might be a bit hard. She was thinking on how to find the area when a huge burst of wind caught her off balance, knocking her off the tree and to the ground. "Ow...." She grumbled slightly and brushed herself off. What a way to start her journey.

With eyes wide, the Minccino stared at the Treeko. Is is friendly, however, Echo thought, this Pokemon appears to have a wonderful sense of picking a charming forest to explore. Echo then took a deep, but silent breath. Should he still surprise the Pokemon?

Echo quickly waddled out of the bush he was hiding in. Leaves and a branch or two were sticking out of his furry coat.
"Are you okay," he asked sincerely. "I just want to know, because you just fell out of that tree up there and it is pretty high up!" Echo then cheerful smiled and mentioned, "Oh, I'm Echo! I probably should have introduced myself earlier."

The Mincinno then stood there while an expression of awe bloomed on his face. He had never encountered such a Pokemon before! It was such a relaxing green color and had amazing features! He then shook his head and then recalled that this Pokemon just fell off a branch. This was no time to marvel, this was about the Pokemon who had a troubled look on her face.

She jumped as she heard a voice to her right, seemingly asking her if she was alright. Kimori turned to face the Pokemon, identifying him to be a Mincinno. "Oh, me? I'm fine... It surely isn't the first time." She gave a soft laugh and a smile towards the friendly Pokemon, who was now introducing himself to be Echo. "I'm Kimori! It's nice to meet you, Echo."

She turned her head towards the tree she fell from, shielding her eyes from the sun. "Huh.. Guess it really was high up. Oh well." As she turned her head back towards Echo, she let a thought pass through her mind. "Hey, wanna explore this forest with me? I'm kinda weak, but I promise I can hold my own here! After all, lots of similarly weak feral Pokemon live here. Say, wanna see if we can find the Hidden Leaf Copse? I've heard about it but I really wanna see it!"

She gave a big grin to the Mincinno.

Echo was comforted knowing that this Treeko was extremely friendly. He then grinned and said, "Sure! I would be delighted to explore this place and onto Leaf Corpse! Oh, and don't worry about being weak, with the both of us, we are sure to be safe. I already know you would help if times go rough and I would do the same, no doubt!"

He also begins to pluck out the sticks and leaves that managed to attach to him while he was waiting in the bush. "Oh, I know! We should just follow this path," the Minccino happily says. "It may be faint, but i know it won't be too terribly difficult! Look, see?" Echo wipes away at a few fallen twigs and reveals the lightly marked path.

The Grass-type looked over the faint trail, and then to where it led. It seemed to go in a straight line, mostly, and deeper into the forest. Kimori turned her attention to Echo, with a concerned look. "How do you know that this will take us there? Have you been there before?" She shook her head slightly, it was stupid of her to give this cute little Pokemon a hard time, especially when he might be correct. "You know, never mind. Let's follow this path and see where we end up!"

She gave a smile, hoping that the trail would be the right one. And maybe she would even get to be good friends with Echo along the way.

The little Pokemon's eyes glinted with excitement. "Hurray! We are going on an adventure," he giggled. Echo turned towards the path and slowly started to begin the long walk that awaited both of them. This Minccino was going to burst into streamers and confetti at this rate. He just really enjoyed helping someone who needed it.

"I wonder if we will have a simple path. Oh, or maybe there will be a big bad Pokemon up ahead. That would be terrifying, but so cool," Echo chatted. He really didn't know what else to say on this rather dull trail. However, he became silenced as they the faint dirt road led into a small clearing. The view was simply...astounding. The sun was reflecting off a small pond which made gave it a stunning feeling. The trees were tall and mighty. The grass was at a perfect height. "Woah," The Minccino said in completed awe.

'Pecha Forest' :

Wow. They had come upon a pond, a pretty little body of water where the grass was pretty, the air was cool, a nice breeze was blowing, and the water was reflecting a clear blue sky. "...Wow... This is gorgeous!" Kimori walked forward, admiring the scenery. She turned to the Minccino happily. "This is such a pretty place! I'm happy that we found this!" The Treecko looked around once more. "So.. do you wanna hang out here for a little bit? Or keep moving?" She was honestly fine with staying here, but time was wasting and she wanted to get to the Leaf Copse. Of course, she'd do whatever her companion decided.

It was then that she happened to glance upon a strange tree at the water's edge. "Huh... That's odd..." It really was an odd tree. Kimori hadn't seen anything like it before. But it was just a tree, so she payed it no heed.

"I would be completely fine with staying here for a while, besides, it is lovely here," Echo said with a grin. The little gray Pokemon then dashes forward to the little pond. He looked over it and saw a Pokemon that looked just like someone familiar... He giggled and pawed at the his reflection causing a ripple. After it subsided, features in the water became clearer. The sun was shining so bright and clouds were scattered in such a fine pattern. Echo looked upwards and then looked at the Treeko. She was looking near him and he felt rather silly, but then he saw what was so eye-catching.

A little tree almost bare with a few leaves in a odd shape was next to the pond. With extreme confusion, Echo waddled over to it. He leaned in very close and stared. He squinted, waited a few seconds, then withdrew. "Hey," the Minccino said waving to Treeko, "Look what I'm going to do!" He proceeded back to the tree and grabbed hold. With a jump, Echo managed to sit on top of the tiny tree. He laughed and stood wobbly on the branches which were at the head of it. As if he was on a tight rope, he stood on one foot until he lost his balance. With a loud yelp, he fell into the pond. Water splattered everywhere, including the little tree.

"I'm okay," Echo said as he popped his head out of the pond. He was going to start chuckling, but the tree he was on started to twitch. Terrified, the little Pokemon swam out of the water and back to the Treeko's side. As if possessed, it shook violently until legs and arms appeared from the tree. It was a Pokemon. With a angered expression, the Pokemon glared at the two, however more towards Echo. "It's a tree Pokemon! A.. Um.. S-Sudowoodo," Echo said nervously.

The enraged Pokemon started by inching a bit a time, but then it began to run. It held out an arm as the grass swirled around it and a giant hammer was formed. It was nearly a few feet ahead of them when Echo ran forward. He was not going to let anyone become injured due to his mistakes. His tail swung over to his front and he held it firm. In a moment, a coating of iron covered his tail and it sparkled magnificently. The hammer was brought down onto Echo's tail which was acting like a shield. A unnerving cracking sound was heard. The Sudowoodo's Wood Hammer was denied, but that did not faze this Pokemon. He summoned another with his other arm and swung at Echo's side. With a terrible cry, the Minccino was launched to the right. He rolled a bit until he stopped laying on his side.
