Leaf me alone! Empty
PostSubject: Leaf me alone!   Leaf me alone! EmptySat Jan 24, 2015 8:27 pm

Here he was again. William had no idea what it was but something about this new area had caught his attention and refused to let go. In any case - once more the Gengar was wandering in the sea of orange, yellow and red that was the Fallen Leaf Copse.
There really wasn't much of interest here, but the place had this feeling of power to it. Could other Pokémon sense it too? No, the Gengar believed for it to be best not to ask just in case he had stumbled on something important here. It probably was nothing and he was wasting his time, but he would be wasting his time anyway, so there really wasn't much of a reason not to waste it here.
And thusly William wandered on, looking at the ground, the treetops and anywhere else something of interest could be hidden.

Serena looked around at the copse. She had come here to train and possibly evolve. Maybe if she found someone, she could journey through the copse with them. Thing was, she didn't want to get owned by a bunch of crazy Pokemon that thought they were witty. Shaking her head at the thought, she continued on. She might not be fully evolved, but she was still strong.

As the Gengar continued to wander through the copse's mesmerizing landscape, a speck of green caught his attention. It was not common to find something of this colour in an area full of reds and yellows, so whatever this was probably was something important. And thus William silently ascended into the air, trying to hide in the treetops in case the green thing would be something dangerous or just hostile. Slowly moving closer, the Poison type came to notice that the green thing was a Snivy. What was it doing here? Was it hostile? Best not to risk it and ask first instead, he thought to himself. Still in hiding, he thusly began to address the other Pokémon.
"Greetings. Who are you and what business do you have here?"

Serena suddenly heard a voice call out and ask her what she was doing here. "Hello, wherever you are... I'm here to explore the Fallen Leaf Copse and see if I can find anything interesting." She said, acting as if this was completely normal. Looking around, she could not see who the voice belonged to. 'Strange..... I can't see anyone. Maybe it's a ghost type..' The Snivy thought. 'Nah, it couldn't be. Very unlikely.' She countered to herself. If there were any ghost types at all, they would be back in the darker and shadier dungeons. Shaking her head, she stopped walking altogether. Maybe if she could locate the voice and it wasn't a foe, they would join up with her to explore. It was very possible, considering Ramira had lived in Shadowhue for a while.

PostSubject: Re: Leaf me alone!   Leaf me alone! EmptySat Jan 24, 2015 9:33 pm

Now this Pokémon seemed to simply be a harmless explorer. However William's time of exploring dungeons had taught him a few things, among others that there's next to nothing outlaws wouldn't shy away from to get an attack or two on an unsuspecting target. Now if the Snivy was an outlaw, then William would likely easily be able to defeat her due to the massive type advantage, but maybe that was just exactly what the outlaws - yes, plural - wanted for him to believe. Maybe she was acting as bait, while some of her partners were hiding away somewhere, attacking him should he approach. It seemed paranoid of William to think so, but with the things he had seen already, this was hardly the strangest idea he had had.
Still, he would probably find out no matter what he did, so slowly he descended from his hiding place, still staying a fair distance in the air to keep at least a bit of distance.
"We have the same goals then, I believe.", he introduced himself.
"My name is William. May I ask yours?".

Finally seeing the source of the voice, a Gengar, Serena felt relieved. "My name is Serena. Nice to meet you, William." She was actually surprised to see a fully evolved ghost type instead of a Phantump or something. Then again he had sounded older and a bit stronger. 'I guess you never know until you see...' The Snivy thought. At least William didn't look hostile. That was a good thing. Serena wasn't going to let her guard down just yet, though. She had to make sure he wasn't hostile. Of course, she wasn't going to question him. To put it simply, if he was going with her, she'd find out.

"It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Serena.",
William responded. It was nice to be talking to a Pokémon that appeared to be well-versed in the art of polite speech, even though this was making William more wary. Outlaws tended to use this manner of speaking to lull their targets into a false sense of security.
Still, the Ghost type was just too familiar with prejudice and the damage it could cause and was thusly determined not to subject anyone else to the same fate he had to go through without some very good evidence. Just then however William noticed some rustling in the bushes surrounding the duo, seemingly confirming his worst suspicions. It seemed to indeed have been a trap that he had gotten himself into.

Serena noticed William's nervous expression and grimaced. "It's just a bunch of ferals..." She muttered to herself. Sure enough, a Silcoon and a Furret launched out of the bushes. Her instincts kicking in, she leapt up into a tree, waiting until the two ferals were confused about her whereabouts, and used Vine Whip on the Furret. 'I'm not going to let them see me......' She thought. The Snivy hadn't meant to abandon William, but she didn't want to be attacked straight on. Leaping down from the tree, she stood next to William and frowned.

Before William could even decide on which enemy to attack, the Snivy had already attacked the feral Furret. Now this was surprising. Of course it could also be a trick to get William to trust her, but right now the Gengar decided for this to be enough evidence to believe the Grass type.
Now - which target to take care of? On the one hand his Focus Blast could prove to be devastating against the Furret's normal type, on the other hand the two Silcoon could pose a threat against the Snivy, the Bug types' attacks likely being super effective against his companion.
In the end William decided on taking care of the Bug types first, considering that none of the enemies seemed to have anything that could be threatening for a Ghost/Poison type.
Summoning the power of grief, frustration and hatred into a sphere of blackest pain, the Gengar launched a Shadow Ball at one of the Silcoon.

Serena saw William attack one of the two Silcoon out of the corner of her eye as she used Iron Tail on the Furret to keep it at bay. Using another Iron Tail, she glared at the Furret angrily. Lunging at it, she used a close range Vine Whip to grab it and slam it into the ground like a sack of pillows. The Snivy was not going to get beaten down or bossed around. Running up to the Furret, she used Tackle to finish the job. 'Hmmph. That one was a real pain. Really didn't need him running around, now did we?' Serena thought. This was very unlike her, but during battle she was definitely very fierce.

William was barely able to even hear the Snivy as he had opted for using a rather surprising tactic in this battle. Considering the Silcoon's lak of mobility as well as their weakness against moves of the Flying type, the Gengar had decided to try and improvise one of those. Disappearing into the ground, he then floated beneath where he remembered one of the foes to be, then ascending again high into the air, the foe lifted over his head. Finally, once he believed for them to have reached a sufficient height, he simply dropped the Bug type. The Gengar was hoping for it to hit the other Silcoon but even it just landing on the ground should do some damage. It was times like these in which William wondered what falling felt like. It certainly was an unpleasant situation, considering how fearful others were of it, but that was only the case because the impact on the ground would cause damage to them. To simply fall would be something interesting to experience.

Serena watched as William carried the Silcoon into the air, and once getting to a certain height, dropped it. 'Interesting tactic....' She thought with interest. The Snivy hadn't seen any Pokemon do that to another before, so instead of moving, she watched in awe as it came down, making it's mark and hitting the other Silcoon. The Gengar had aimed correctly. The first had fainted, and the other looked fairly dazed. Serena was surprised how accurate all of that had been.

Considering both Bug types' lack of mobility and their weight reducing the wind's effect considerably hitting one of them with the other hadn't been too much of a challenge. What mattered however was that the move seemed to have been rather effective in taking care of and neutralizing the threat the Gengar and the Snivy were being faced with.
Only one of the Silcoon was still in a state capable of fighting and even this Bug type shouldn't be able to do too much damage. Slowly the Gengar descended to ground level again, hoping for the effect of intimidation to have been enough to scare the foe out of fighting without having to knock it out.

Serena looked at the last Pokemon standing that they might have to fight. But, to William's success, the Silcoon tried it's hardest to hop away, considering it's lack of legs. Watching it go with a chuckle, she looked at William briefly. Her suspicions were confirmed; he wasn't hostile. That was a plus for her, because she would lose to the Gengar no matter what. He was part Poison, after all.

The Snivy still wasn't attacking him. That was good.
Either it meant that she had been telling the truth about just being here to explore, or seing him do battle had made her not want to fight him anymore. A wise choice if that was the case, seeing as how William was able to resist the Grass type, even if he had no Poison type attacks himself.
Well, either way there was no threat going off from her and all other potential enemies were either unconscious or had fled. And that meant that now the two of them could try to get to know each other without having to fear someone trying to give them a whupping.
"So, as I was saying - a pleasure to make your acquaintance."
