Within the Rift

Izumi got an odd sensation as she jumped through the Rift, although she couldn't quite put her claw on what was so strange about it. All she knew was that things were completely black, and then she was standing on an odd, light purplish stone, which vaguely looked like the surface of the moon, that was suspended above a black void with one path leading away from it. In fact, everything inside the rift except for the floating rocks and platforms was pitch-black, yet she could still see clearly. It was a very odd place indeed.

The screeching distorted cries became louder as the creature drew closer. It wasn't long before a long almost snake like form came from around the corner of part of the Rift's confusing world. It had what seemed to be black streamer like appendages on it's back, each of the six tipped with a bright red spike. It's grey body was detailed with stripes of red and black and it's head and neck was covered in what looked to be almost golden armour. There were a total of ten gold tipped spikes along the length of it's serpentine body.

The gold head plates swung open to reveal it's mouth as it let out another distorted screech.

"What... What the hell is that?" asked Tsukishiro quietly.

"Holy Arceus..." Izumi muttered as the giant snake-like revealed itself from the depths of the rift. It looked extremely agitated, glaring at the three of them and roaring angrily. Izumi wasn't sure what to do next, she could only stand in awe.

The serpentine Pokemon hovered above the Deerling it's gaze focused more on the two Absol. The Deerling, terrified out of it's mind leaped up and dashed over to Izumi, hiding behind her for fear that the huge Pokemon might attack her.

The serpentine Pokemon let out a short distorted hiss before it actually spoke.
"Why have you come here?" is asked, it's voice just as distorted as it's cries.

Izumi returned the serpentine Pokemon's stare and held it confidently as she spoke. "We're only here to bring this little Deerling back. We came to rescue her when we found out she was stuck in the rift." she stated calmly yet firmly. She was freaking out on the inside, despite her confident demeanor.

Tsukishiro was just stood in awe of the creature. She couldn't find her voice, despite how much she wanted to.

The serpentine Pokemon made another distorted hissing noise. It seemed to be thinking about the Absol's words. A few seconds later and with another flick of it's tail, it's gaze focused solely on Izumi.
"I don't expect to see you here next time I return," it hissed letting out another distorted cry before it slowly but surely began to move away. It kept it's gaze on the three Pokemon for as long as it could before it finally turned and disappeared into the darkness.

Izumi also held her ground and her stare as the serpentine Pokemon moved away from them slowly, and once it was far enough away and Izumi felt a little safer, the danger of that whole situation finally hit her. "FWOOOO" Izumi groaned as she exhaled loudly. "THAT was just WAY TOO CLOSE. I don't want to have another encounter like that, so let's get outta here ASAP, guys." she announced urgently, ushering her sister and the Deerling in the way they had come.

Tsukishiro just watched as the serpentine creature moved away through the darkness of this distorted and unnatural world.
"Wow..." was all she could manage. Though also being scared and intimidated by it's presence she couldn't get over how magnificent it was. That Pokémon was certainly one of a kind, she could tell just by the way it acted. She made a mental note to do some research when they reached the town.

Blinking she turned to her sister and grinned before Izumi started ushering both her and the now rescued Deerling out of the Rift.

As they made their way out of the eerie place, Ixumi made sure that the Deerling wasn't to injured and started to ask her an array of questions.

"So, what made you want to come in here?" she asked inquisitively.

"I didn't...." she admitted, frowning. She was grateful for the two Absol's help and had made that clear a few moments ago before they had started heading back towards Obsidian Crevice.
"I was just hoping that if I went far enough through here I might come out on the other side and not have to try and outrun those bad Pokemon again..."

The Deerling sighed.
"Don't worry," Tsukishiro attempted to comfort her, "We're here now so they won't hurt you. We'll soon be out of here!"

"Yeah! What happened wasn't your fault, so don't worry about it, if you are." Izumi nodded, although slightly quieter than she had been. Izumi was always quieter when there were Pokemon she didn't know around, even if they were friendly. "For now, let's just focus on getting out of here."

The Deerling nodded and focused her efforts on moving forwards, that it, until Tsukishiro stopped.
"Wait."

The younger Absol moved over to Izumi and reached into the bag she was carrying. Her head came out of the bag a few moments later with a piece of blue fabric in her jaws.
"My scarf!" smiled the Deerling. Tsukishiro nodded and gave it to the Deerling. With some struggle, she helped tie it around the Deerling's neck.

"Thankyou for returning it to me!" she grinned, clearly happy to have the possession back.

"It's no problem," chuckled Shiro, happy that she had helped this Deerling find something that was obviously precious to her.

Izumi smiled as she watched the Deerling happily recurve her scarf. She was glad they were able to find the Deerling and help her after all. Her sister really did have an amazing gift. "Let's keep this pace up and get out of here before we have more company." Izumi grinned, although she was obviously still worried about that serpentine creature. She led through the maze-like rift, keeping good time.

As they continued on toward the Rift's entrance, the Deerling fell silent. The return journey had been much easier, despite the twists and turns. After getting lost a few times on this weird worlds pathways, they were nearly out. It was then however that the Deerling spoke up again.
"So how is it you two knew where I was...?" she asked. After all, she hadn't tried sending a rescue request.

Tsukishiro opened her mouth to speak but then turned to her older sister. She wasn't entirely sure what to say... or whether to reveal her ability to the Deerling. For some reason, she felt that it would be best to keep the ability secret, why? She couldn't entirely say.

"We're Absol. We have a natural ability to sense impending disasters. That ability also gives us a vague idea of where that disaster will happen." Izumi responded to the young Deerling. "We followed the sense to the Crevasse, where we met a kind Aerodactyl who had seen your attackers chase you in here. After that, we met up with one of your attackers and knew we were going in the right direction." she added. It wasn't totally a lie, it just didnt include the dimensional scream.

"Oh. I guess that makes sense then," smiled the Deerling. She seemed much more cheerful now that she was confident that she was safe.
Tsukishiro smiled too and gave a short nod to her sister for the quick thinking cover up. The res of the journey passed without any major mishap and the Deerling soon found herself waving a hoof in farewell as she galloped off to the forest in which she lived.

Tsukishiro smiled, "It would be nice to be able to see smiles on other Pokemon's faces like that more often."
