Within the Rift

Izumi got an odd sensation as she jumped through the Rift, although she couldn't quite put her claw on what was so strange about it. All she knew was that things were completely black, and then she was standing on an odd, light purplish stone, which vaguely looked like the surface of the moon, that was suspended above a black void with one path leading away from it. In fact, everything inside the rift except for the floating rocks and platforms was pitch-black, yet she could still see clearly. It was a very odd place indeed.

"It's s weird... but so cool at the same time!" grinned Tsukishiro, the floating parts especially intriguing her. She wondered if they were walking on a floating pathway as well. The path seemed to get narrower and narrower as they drew onwards...

Eventually, the two came to a dead end at the path, and an island that was floating sideways. "Well, that's just great. Now what?" Izumi grumbled. She squinted and looked far ahead, some land in front of them catching her eye. "...I think I see where the path continiues, but how to get over there..." she mumbled to herself. She had been leaning so far forward trying to get a glimpse of the land in front of her that she hadn't seen the groung beneath her Begining to crumble. "W-woah!" she cried out as she began to fall. Instead of falling to down to her doom, however, she fell sideways onto the floating island and landed on her feet. "What in the world?!?!" Izumi exclaimed as she looked around frantically.

Tsukishiro looked up at her sister and laughed.
"This place is amazing!" she grinned, stepping onto the sideways platform. She cheerfully bounded along, occasionally encountering another sideways wall that they had to move to, but it was all very exciting. It was like this world shouldn't exist... like it was impossible, but somehow it wasn't.

"I guess gravity in this place doesn't work like normal gravity." Isumi mused as she hopped off an upside-down island. She continiued to walk along. It wasn't long before the two came upon a giant waterfall... flowing upwards? "What is this?" Izumi questioned.

Tsukishiro just laughed again. She really was loving this place.
"A waterfall," she chuckled, unhelpfully, "I wonder if we could swim up it...."

Luckily, before she could try she heard a sharp cry from further along the pathway. It sounded like a Deerling and so it immediately caught the younger Absol's attention.

"Holy Arceus in the Hall of Origin, you heard that, right?" Izumi asked her sister frantically, but the look on the younger Absol's face was answer enough for her. "Looks like we're gonna find out! Intoooo the waterfaaaall!" she shouted as she charged into the waterfall. She wasn't in it for very long until she ended up on another upside-down path. "Thus place is just kooky." she sighed.

Despite hearing the cry mere moments before, Tsukishiro couldn't help but chuckle as she dived into the waterfall and ended up on a completely different path. She loved this place in a weird way. She'd have to come back here some time when there wasn't a Deerling to save and appreciate it properly.

"Alright, we should be getting close now." Izumi mused as she hopped down from another upside-down trail. As they walked along, the path got even more weird. Izumi just hoped she don't get lost, although she could probably sniff her way back out.

Tsukishiro looked up at the 'sky' around them... it was black, but with an odd purplish hue. She stopped as she heard an odd... almost distorted sounding roar. It vaguely resembled the roars from earlier... but Tsukishiro frowned. It was more of a high pitched screech than before....

The younger Absol stepped onto another wall and carried onwards.

As they walked on, It wasnt long before Izumi stepped on yet another well-placed pile of five or so silver thorns. AGAIN.

"OWCH!" she yelped. She yanked the thorns out of her paw and dropped them into her bag, than promptly yelled, "NEW HOUSE ON THE HILL, HERE I COME." in frustration.

Tsukishiro would have begun laughing but she too only managed to step on a set of Thorns.
"Holy crap. here are so many of these things..."
She too pulled the thorns out of her paw before putting them into Izumi's bag. Shaking her fur, she turned her attention to the road ahead.
"Not far now..." she smiled, thinking positively.

"It feels odd, doesn't it?" Izumi asked quietly as they made their way through the confusing inner Rift. "Liker there's something bigger going on here. Well, at least in this place. I thought a rift in both time and space was pretty odd, but now I feel like its even more than that." she added, once again somewhat darkly.

"I suppose so..." replied Tsukishiro. She froze all of a sudden as her eyes caught sight of something in the distance.
"What... What the hell was that...?" she asked.
It had been there for no more than a mere moment but it had been there none the less, swiftly moving through the vast purple and black 'sky'.

"What? What did you see?!" Izumi asked frantically. She was starting to get an even more eerie vibe from this place, only it was different from the one she had from before.

"I-... I dont know... It was just there and then gone.... I'm not even sure if what I saw was real, a vision or just my imagination..." she replied, shaking her head. She tried to recall the memory of the creature.
"I think it was... grey... but it would have been black... Whatever it was. It just seemed to fly through the air over there, only it was like a snake... not a bird."
She frowned, trying and failing to explain what she had just seen.
