The Beginning of a Long Voyage

Izumi stood at the entrance to the Black Spiral Staircase early one peticular morning, her medium-sized treasure bag hanging from her neck as per usual. The Black Spiral Staircase lead straight to the very peak of Black Mist Mountain, the place she and her sister Tsukishiro called home. She and her sister were leaving for a new town that day, but first Izumi wanted to procure a certain item from the mountain's peak. The Black Mist's most sacred and valuable treasure. Or, in any case, it was valuable to them. Izumi had no clue how much the item was actually worth, she wasn't even sure if it existed. But she was sure as heck she was going to find out. She waited patiently for her sister to join her at the gaping entrance to the inside of the mountain.

"I'm fine..." she replied quietly, deciding not to elaborate. It was true that she felt some form of dull pain but it was still fairly easy to ignore and so Tsukishiro shook her fur before smiling at her sister and changing the topic of conversation.
"So how long until the Peak?" she asked, "In your opinion anyhow."

"It shouldn't be too much farther, maybe about 120 meters from here. If we move fast we could be there in a matter of a half an hour or less." Izumi responded excitedly.

Tsukishiro nodded, her expression rather bright despite the injury she now had.
"I can't wait to see what's at the top!" she grinned, her paws once again taking her towards the peak. There really wasn't that much further to go.

Izumi grinned at her sister's enthusiasm. "I can't either. Once we get that item, we can start our journey to our new home!" she smiled excitedly, her pace quickening a little at the thought of starting a new life with new people and more freedom to live the way she wanted to. "I wonder where we'll live until we get a chance to settle down....." Izumi thought aloud. She started sniffing the air without even thinking about it. "Something smells good.... Like food..."

Tsukishiro's grin only got wider as Izumi mentioned how close they were to starting their journey to their new home. She listened to her sister's thoughts and was about to reply when Izumi mentioned smelling something good.
Shiro paused, sniffing the air herself.
"You're right!" she replied, trying to hone in on the source of the smell. Food was one of the things that Tsukishiro could detect accurately with her nose. It didn't take her long to find the source. A Grey Gummi, tucked in a small corner of rock. Shiro had absolutely no idea who in their right mind would leave a tasty treat like a Gummi lying around. She gently picked it up and bounded back over to Izumi.

"Hey, a gummi!" Izumi smiled as she watched her sister pluck the grey food out of the rock corner. "Good find!" she smiled, then flipped open her bag and offered to carry it for Tsukishiro.

The younger Absol happily dropped the Gummi into her sister's bag.
"Thanks!" she grinned. As dark types, both her and her sister preferred Black Gummis to Grey ones but if they ever felt like a snack, any Gummi would do!

As they walked forward, finally able to make some uninterrupted progress, Izumi began to get the sinking feeling that she and her sister weren't alone again. And this time, she felt like their company was coming in a pair.

Due to her own natural ability to sense disasters.. or in this case, minor problems, Tsukishiro also found she had a weird feeling. She focused further on in their path, hoping to single out what it was they would seemingly have to fight next. She forgot however that Pokemon could also come from behind or from the ground...

Suddenly, out of nowhere a Drilbur popped out of the ground under Izumi and pegged her in the stomache with it's Dig attack. She was thrown upwards into the air by the force of the attack and then fell to the side with a grunt of pain. A female Sneasel also stepped out into the fray. "What is it with all these pokemon and wanting to attack us?!" Izumi groaned.

"I have no idea!" yelled Tsukishiro before she leaped at the Drilbur, claws once again outstretched and glowing pale white as she Scratched at it.
The Sneasel, seeing Izumi on the ground targeted the older of the two Absol. All of a sudden, the female was gathering Ice on her clenched fist and was about to swing an Ice Punch at Izumi.

Izumi jumped up quickly and prepared a feint attack to counter the Sneasel's. The Drilbur, being a slower Pokemon than Tsukishiro was, couldn't dodge her attack on time and took a Scratch attack to the right side of his face. He then prepared his own scratch attack to launch back at Tsukishiro.

Tsukishiro used Feint, dodging away from the Drilbur's Scratch and attacking him from behind. She was using her speed to her advantage, getting in more than one hit in a short space of time. The Drilbur however, seemed to be rather hardy and didn't seem like it would lose any time soon.

The Sneasel was another story. She was ruthless. Constantly aiming Scratch moves at Izumi. Being as swift as a Sneasel is, it was actually rather hard to keep up with her onslaught.
"Sne. Sne. Sne."
The Sneasel repeated this with each Scratch attempt.

Izumi did her best to dodge the Sneasel's Scratch attacks, but once in a while she would get hit pretty good. She found an opening during the Sneasel's repetitive attack and went straight for it mercilessly with a Feint attack.

The Drilbur got hit again, but this time he didn't use Scratch again. This time, the Drilbur dove straight into the black dirt below him, using his dig attack to try and tunnel below Tsukishiro and attack her like he did Izumi.

The Sneasel's repetitive cries were suddenly cut off when Izumi broke through the flurry of attacks. After being hit by the Feint attack, she promptly clutched her side for a few seconds, measuring the damage from where the attack had hit. It took her a mere few moments to get back into the fight though as she readied her Ice Punch once more.

All of a sudden Tsukishiro was stuck. She didn't know how to find a Pokemon that was hidden from her through who knows how much rock and dirt beneath her paws. She stood there, looking around and trying to spot the place that the Drilbur would appear from.
