| As soon as Astir saw the trees, he knew what was coming. "Oh, another dungeon. Looks like it anyways," he mused as he landed back on the ground next to his partner, Rosemary. Astir had had plenty of time to grow accustomed to this now- this routine of going out into a new place he'd never seen, learning some new thing, coming back with items or finding some pokemon to give items... he found he preferred when there was someone to fight, though. He felt even better because Mary had agreed.
Rosemary looked at him out of the corner of her eye. "Are you saying that because there are trees?" she asked suspiciously.
"Yes. But there's rocks too. And water. So I know it's more than trees, psshh," Astir retorted with a scoff.
"Alright, sure," Mary responded with a roll of her eyes. "I just can't believe the trees are the thing you're concerned about..." She looked down. She could feel ominous vibrations under feet with every yard they walked... What could it be?! She knew the call had been put out to the various guilds about strange activity in the massive dungeon, but she hadn't expected to feel the effects so soon... what was going on??
"What?"
"The ground? Is shaking? Under us?"
"Oh, right. Yeah, I guess. That's probably normal, though."
".......It's proooooooobably not," Mary sighed collectively. This was one of those times where she hoped they'd at least be accompanied by someone more competent than the two of them combined. "I wonder if Acro is coming..."

| "Everspring Vale." New place. So far, it had been disappointing. Granted, Sova had been practically everywhere the land had to offer, so "new and shiny" didn't exactly impress him. Sure, he hadn't been here and apparently not many others had managed to explore much of its large territory, but it seemed to be pretty much par for the course. There were some trees here and there, some plains, and the typical wildlife one would expect. It was big, no doubt... but not unlike the world around it. Sova had experienced more than enough horror to be unfazed by wildlife. It was pretty, though. What a shame that he would have to ruin some undetermined expanse of it, for he was here to conquer a mighty legend. This seemed to be his job nowadays; rather than protecting others as a member of a guild like he had always wanted, he was instead fighting gods in an attempt to stop the very world from being irreversably damaged. One could argue that his mission was to stop life itself from- "Hey, you're quiet."...Right. And then there was that. He gave an unamused look back to the vaporeon trailing obediently behind him and sighed. After she had stalked him into his last outing - which he didn't even remember choosing to go on - she had actully proven herself quite useful. That, plus her sheer determination to find his respect and come with him... well, it made it hard to refuse. Even if he had tried, it seemed the only alternative was her stubbornly following him anyway, and he much preferred at least being able to keep an eye on her and give directions. "Of course I'm quiet. I'm listening for-" he began, only to be interrupted by... vibrations. He didn't exactly know the area, but this seemed abnormal enough to take note of. "...That," he declared, before darting off after the sounds. Of course, he was slow due to his damaged leg, but he had to keep his pace even slower to ensure his teammate could keep up. He had no idea if this would actually be what he was looking for, but it certainly sounded intimidating enough. Skylar struggled to follow behind the glaceon as he suddenly bolted off in some direction that was mostly random to her. As she followed, however, she began to feel vibrations in her fins which told her this was anything but random. Sova seemed to know exactly where the vibrations were originating from, but she somehow doubted that; she especially doubted that he was specifically looking for this, but she knew that he was probably looking for something powerful so... yeah, it checked out. She wished he would have at least given her some kind of warning or slowed down or something of that nature, but she dared not say a thing for she didn't want to look weak and make him doubt her capability to keep up with him. She wanted to be here, along for whatever ridiculous, borderline-suicidal ride he was so determined to be a part of. "Okay, that's- great," she struggled to respond while running practically as fast as she could. She knew he was slowing down for her, which only made her feel worse. Her entire goal was to do anything but slow the glaceon down, and yet here she was... literally doing just that. Well, at least she would have a chance to prove herself if they happened to encounter whatever it was Sova was looking for. Then, surely, she would be able to do something of use and... oh, who was she kidding? He had probably just brought her along out of a mix of pity and her ability to make a hailstorm. What use was she really, beyond that? She was determined to find out. -------- Dusk was on a mission, but not one issued by a guild. No, apparently she was disallowed from such things. She was too weak, or unreliable, or whatever Acro's reason was for ignoring her and leaving her out of everything! It seemed everyone felt the same about her, like she was just useless; she was lucky to get Acro's pity, but she would be damned before accepting membership to his team as a simple consolation prize. Then, as if the situation didn't already sting enough, he had gone and looked for more new recruits and decided they were his focus, like she didn't even matter. And what was she supposed to say? No? It was his team! In truth, the umbreon really didn't have a problem with the notion at first, mostly because she believed she would still be... well... noteworthy? She at least thought he would talk to her after the experiences they'd had together! But, no, apparently he preferred to go on missions with some randos he'd just picked up off the street one day, or even better, all by himself! Apparently Dusk wasn't good enough! Well, she was sick of it. The archeops technically wasn't on a mission right now, but he was still out and about, flitting around wherever he damn well pleased without a care in the world. She did not intend to take being left on the bench lightly, especially after the personal moments the two had shared; or at least, she thought they were personal. Regardless, she intended to contront him, and she would do it while he was out and about on his daily fuckery so that he would have no defense. In truth, she had only just worked up the nerve, but now seemed as good a time as any... even if it was a long and tedious journey to catch up with him. But he was here. Somewhere. And if it was the last thing she did, she would prove that she belonged anywhere he wanted to go. Or... at the very least, she would prove she could follow him. Even if he would not allow her, she needed to make sure he knew she could. ... She needed to know she could. Sova - 95 energy Skylar - 21 energy Dusk - 24 energy | |

| [ Content Tag!] [Dark topics ahead, Acro's posts along with others throughout this thread should not be read if you're sensitive to mature and heavy material/subjects.]It's over. This was it. There was no possible way this would fail him. Dusk and the others were back at the guild, safe and sound, and they had no idea where he was. So he couldn't be followed...so he believed. He did not think to check behind him since he was far busy tunneling into other thoughts. It was easier to think about how much things were going to improve for the other. All he could do was look forward to the future, the short future.
It was oddly calming in a way. He knew what was going to happen and it was certain to happen. The team's belongings would go to the others, Dusk would take over the team, and then she wouldn't need the cloak anymore. Astir and Rosemary would have a proper teacher with either Dusk or someone else from the guild...and nobody would get hurt. There was nobody for him to watch out for.
He was tired. Sleep became troublesome and he hadn't exactly healed completely from his recent slew of missions. Scars still matted his tail, the nape of his neck, and across his chest. His leg still pained him, but it was nowhere near as painful as before. Right now it was bearable, just enough for him to take off from Aileron and head over to Everspring-where he was guaranteed a powerful and careless opponent. One that he couldn't quite possibly handle on his own. Something that could kill him.
While he didn't feel the shakes of the earth, he could see the source. It almost looked like a hill in the distance, but he didn't need to be an expert on any sort of mythology to know that it was not a normal occurrence. He took in a deep breath, his wings spread wide as he lifted himself higher into the air.
'Well,' he thought to himself, 'here goes everything.' The wind whistled in his ears as his wings folded. He dove to attack the monster. Zygarde's recruit has appeared!R E G I G I G A SEach thunderous step boomed with the intensity of an Earthquake. A single swipe of its arm caused trees to bend and snap into sprays of wooden shrapnel. Dirt and dust contaminated the air with each movement. What a lovely stroll it had to warm up the ol' muscles...at least, until it felt something smack into the back of its head. The impact was powerful enough to nudge the beast's upper body forward a little, just the right amount for the flying pest to catch its attention.
"RE-RE-RE-RE" The thunderous voice boomed from the creature as the pest circled back around for another assault. Although loud, the voice seemed to distort and struggle to speak-akin to a broken record. Although slow, the regi lifted its arm. The bird was quick to veer off course, but not fast enough. The arm came down far faster than it moved going up as it allowed gravity to do most of the work for it. It was merely a lazy slap for the monster, but still the Archeops was sent into the ground far faster than he could ever fly.

| The thunderous sounds were growing louder, louder, and louder still. The vibrations accompanying said sounds were also growing stronger, making it harder and harder for Mary to stay on her feet while walking. Astir noticed she was beginning to fall behind and looked back at her with a look of contemplation, seemingly waiting for her to say something first. She did not say anything. Eventually he caught her gaze, but she didn't appear ready to confront the question he was trying to ask head on. "...What?" she asked him, challenging him in the hopes that it might distract him from those thoughts. Unfortunately for her, Astir was too dense for that.
"...I could give you a ride if you're having trouble," Astir offered nonchalantly. They had ridden the balloon together and such, so he didn't think this kind of thing would be a huge deal. He didn't have a reason to. Mary, on the other hand, was interested in maintaining at least some semblance of independence after having her abilities challenged so many times. She just wanted to feel like she didn't have to be the burden she seemed to be for a little while.
"...No thanks, I'm fine," was her flat reply.
There would be no more time for responses, however- that sudden snapping of a whole swath of trees put that to rest. Rosemary and Astir both stopped dead in their tracks and turned to investigate the sound just in time to fall into the seemingly endless shadow cast by a looming behemoth. Mary's mouth fell wide open in shock, while Astir's fell wide open in awe. This... this encounter had a solid chance of being the true identity of danger, the one he had been searching for for so long.
Rosemary was noticing more of the details than Astir. Like a colorful speck waaaay up in the sy, one that looked very familiar. That familiar speck then struck the approaching behemoth, seemingly catching it's attention. It circled around, but not before the giant struck him down in return. Mary could only watch in morbid horror and realize- yep, Acro was coming.
"Astir! Astir, wake up!!!" Rosemary said through her panic, shaking the snake as he seemingly stared on in a trance. "Change of plans- we need to get over there!! You need to fly!!" Rosemary immediately regretted requesting this as she watched the impish smile rise on Astir's face. The dragon type had nowhere near grasped flying, and she had just asked to be subjected to that- first class.
"...Yeah, we do," Astir agreed wholeheartedly. "I can do it!! Climb on, I've got this."
"...Are you sure...?" Mary asked, already knowing the answer even better than Astir did. Sacrifices had to be made in the current situation.
It was as go-awful as anyone could have expected.
Mary insisted Astir stay as close to the treetops as possible, forcing him to fight his wild urge to climb higher and thus weakening his concentration. He wobbled back and forth, to and fro... the noodle-y spectacle was plenty visible to anyone nearby. The pair was only fast enough to investigate the impending crash site based on the incompetence of the team flier- and even then, the landing was horrible too. Astir wanted to insist on continuing all the way to the looming pokemon, but Mary was far more insistent that they needed to land at this one particular spot.
So Astir did. At the last second. Throwing Mary down to the ground at the place she suspected the speck from earlier had crashed while costing many a tree their branches. He also landed hard, knocking him prone for a moment as his previously damaged brain recieved more impact trauma.

| Sova could feel his body aching in pain already from the ribbon, telling him to slow down and threatening consequences if he refused. He knew by now to listen to the pain this ribbon inflicted on him; it made him stronger, yes, but his body clearly couldn't handle it. Fortunately, he already had to go slow to make sure Skylar could keep up, and it didn't take long to find the source of the tremors despite this. It was... well, big. Maybe not the biggest thing he had ever seen, but very large nonetheless, whatever it was. When the glaceon finally stopped, the vaporeon following behind him was relieved. She was panting just from trying to chase him. She tried to hide it and pretend she was fine, but she was so obviously out of her league in trying to be his equal that it hurt more than... well, probably more than the colossus they had just come upon would. "I-is that-" she began, hoping this giant thing wasn't what they were here for. "Yep," Sova interrupted with a nod, "You know what to do."And she did. There was only one way she could truly be useful in Sova's league, and that was to make a hailstorm. After catching her breath enough, she inhaled deeply and spat what looked to be a ball of mist from her mouth into the air. It flew upward before exploding near the cloudline, sending a cold chill through the dark clouds and making them grow even darker. Within seconds, hail began to fall. "Hope there's no one else around..." she spoke, not liking the idea of doing this willy-nilly and hurting bystanders with the hail. "There is," Sova responded. He'd caught a glimpse of a dragonair flying around, so he knew they weren't entirely alone with this beast. "But it's not like the storm'll kill anyone, and this is more important," he added on, mostly indifferent to how they might be inconveniencing others. Anyone who was worried about getting hurt should have already been fleeing the area, as far as he was concerned. More importantly, he was pretty sure he would need the hail if he wanted to fight... whatever this was. He could feel the temperature of the area lowering as hailstones began to fall through the trees, and that was his cue. Without hesitation, he rushed in front of the giant, staring up at it. "Hey!" he called out as freezing wind began to swirl around him. Maybe trying to speak to it was stupid, considering he had already tried that multiple times in the past with these "gods," but he still wanted to give it a chance to cooperate without violence. Skylar was right behind Sova, practically shackled to him. He had instructed her previously to stay near him, and that was just what she intended to do. She already knew she would get in his way less if she stayed close, and she felt safer that way as well. Plus, if he had some kind of plan he needed to tell her, she wanted to be there to hear it. But... admittedly, she wasn't too keen on being so close to this... very large... presumably aggressive creature. -------- Why was Acro even here? He hadn't taken a mission this time, so what was he doing here, all alone and so far from home? This was one of many questions Dusk wanted an answer to, and although it was far from the front of the priority list, it seemed it would be the first to be clarified. Tremors. She could feel the ground shaking... and then the cloudy sky grew darker as hail began to fall. The area definitely hadn't felt cold enough to support a hailstorm, and that combined with the shaking told her all she needed to know. There was a fight, probably a big one, and that meant Acro was probably involved because he seemed to like to get himself into big fights. And what would he be fighting that could make the very earth tremble? Probably something like that "Marshadow" they had met. She already knew he was actively trying to assist in the holy war or whatever everyone was calling it, so it made sense that he would be fighting a being with godlike power right now. Without her. Maybe completely alone! She didn't know what upset her more between the archeops' lack of self-preservation and dismissive behavior toward her, but she was going to give him such an earful! As soon as she made sure he didn't die. The umbreon picked up her pace now that she had a goal to move toward. She wasn't entirely sure what she was running into, but she didn't particularly care right now. Whatever the situation was, she would probably be useless; she had already seen the kinds of fights Acro got into, and she doubted she would even be able to contribute, but she was sure as hell going to try. The rings adorning her lit up with a golden light before taking on an eerie grey tone as she cursed herself, empowering her body ahead of time so that she would have a better chance of being able to do something by the time she got there. It would also slow her down, but what was the point in getting there faster if she couldn't do anything? | |

| [left] He struck the regigigas with everything had in the first blow, but it only seemed to tick it off. That was good. He had its attention. He moved in for another attack, but the slow movements of the creature indicated that it was about to fight back. The sheer speed of the beast's arm coming down against him was far faster than he expected. The creature's arm slammed into him and sent him straight into the ground in a flurry of dirt and dust.
Already, his whole body was sore with bruises and aches. Despite that, he forced himself to his feet once more. His vision blurred slightly as the area around him spun. He could feel little tiny pellets of ice smack him, which told him to look up. The stormy sky above was...hailing? Well, he supposed it wasn't that out of the ordinary. He'd never been here before, so what the hell did he know? He was just a dumb archeops with a death wish. The Archeops gave himself a shake before he bolted forward for take off, completely missing both the dragonair and the fomantis crash-landing nearby. As he took off, however, rocks ripped out of the ground and followed behind him.
Within seconds he was in the air once more with smaller pointed rocks pursuing after him. He wasn't done with this Regi. Either this regi was going finish up in Everspring and go help Zygarde or he was going to die trying. While it wasn't Ancient Power, it was still just an effective way of using Stone Edge as he previously did...in fact, more effective. How pathetic was it that it took him this long to realize he'd been using his own attack in the most ineffective way possible this whole time? R E G I G I G A S A little blue spec decided to make itself known at his feet just seconds after the sky started to attack it. Ow. Okay, no. This was not pleasant. The regigigas's hands lifted to face each other as if he held an invisible ball. A bright red energy crackled between his fingers as a tiny orb formed between his palms. "CO-CO-CO-CO-" His voice boomed once again in that same broken record as before. The dots along its face glowed in a specific pattern before the regigigas raised its arms, launching the bright red orb into the sky.
The orb pierced the gloomy heavens. With a small flash, the clouds were repelled farther back than the eye could see. For the first time in a while, Everspring witnessed the first glimpse of natural sunshine. Only then did the regigigas take the time to glance down to have a look at the spec that seemed to reduce the temperature with its mere presence. "GIGA-GIGA-HM-HMMM?" the voice boomed down upon the glaceon.
