» Personality: Desiree is a lively and energetic character who wishes to make the most out every moment having spent her entire early life grazing in a field. Confident and bold, she tends to take the direct approach to most situations and has no issue at all with combat. She enjoys the thrill of the fight but struggles to know when to stop on occasion, especially if it is against someone that she has taken a dislike too. Around other Pokemon, Desiree is usually open and honest with her words, having felt the emotional pain that holding back the truth can do herself and not having much patience for lies and deceit. There is a stubbornness to her as well and that can sometimes cause issues and arguments with those who might not share the same opinions as she does.
» Likes: Stories: She enjoys hearing tales of daring adventures and escapades. Not only do they inspire her but they remind her of her uncle.
The Unknown: The thought of not knowing what is going to happen next always gets her blood pumping.
Boldness: She is fond of those who share a similar nature to her and takes a liking to them very quickly.
» Dislikes: Lies and Deceit: Having lived a lie for most of her life, she understands the pain that can be caused from not being truthful.
Rockruff/Lycanroc: She has hated this evolution line of Pokemon ever since they tried to attack her home.
Subservience: Desiree has a strong dislike for those who bow down too easily.
» History: Desiree was always thought of as the black sheep of her family as she was growing up. Raised in a beautiful grassland alongside her siblings, she found the slow pace of a Mareep's life to be dull and would find herself causing trouble and butting heads with her brothers and sisters out of sheer boredom. Life was simple and it drove her mad, resulting in her often having to be scolded by her uncle although he would always regale her with tales of daring doom in order to raise her spirits again. In truth, she was far closer to him than her mother or father and it was he that she would upon up too. Her parents treated her differently than the others and never seemed to look her in the eye when talking to her, when they even spoke to her at all. The reason for this was unknown for the first few years of her life and during that time, they drifted further and further apart with Desiree coming to the conclusion that her mother simply hated the fact that she was different from her kin.
The truth wasn't quite as black and white as that and it took a violent encounter for everything to come to light.
A pair of Pokemon, a Rockruff and it's evolved form Lycanroc approached the family late one night and started causing trouble, resulting in an unpleasant exchange of words, followed by a fight between the Lycanroc and Desiree's uncle. Her parents huddled the other children inside but Desiree had other plans and dashed forwards, crashing in to the Rockruff and starting a battle between the two of them as well. It was little more than a scrape and nothing compared to the savagery that the uncle and the Lycanroc were unleashing on each other but for them it felt like life and death. Both of the young Pokemon fought with passion and anger but Desiree's inexperience soon started to show and she found herself taking a beating and being forced back. Frustrated and desperate, she spun around in a circle and to her immense surprise, found her tail becoming steel and striking the Rockruff with a powerful blow to the face, sending it staggering back and collapsing to the ground.
A wicked howl burst from the Lycanroc as it turned to see its partner down but before it could turn towards Desiree, it was struck by a brutal Focus Blast from her uncle which hurled it backwards. Knowing they were beaten, the pair then turned and hobbled away, giving up the fight. The fiery Mareep would have chased them down if her uncle had not quickly moved in front of her to stop her doing so, his back and tail showing the damage that he had been dealt during the battle. When the trouble makers had gone, he then turned towards her, a grin on his face as he looked down at his brave ball of wool, proud of her, if not a little concerned about her intent to finish their adversaries off and curious as to her technique that had defeated the Rockruff.
It was then that her parents approached her and after a brief look at each other, finally opened up to their daughter. They explained to her the reason for being so distant with her as well as to why she was a little more peppy than the rest of her kin. The truth was that Desiree's actual father was in fact an aggressive and arrogant Lairon that her mother was with before meeting her step father. To say it was a shock to her would be an understatement but it finally lifted the lid of unease that she had felt about not only herself but about her family. She now knew the truth and it made everything seem to much clearer. Her uncle simply smiled during the entire exchange, pleased that the secret was now in the open. Why had he not said anything? For the simple reason that he had promised his sister that he would not, even though he had told her numerous times that she should have.
Life returned to its quiet monotony after that but after a short time, Desiree approached her uncle and said that she wished to seek out her father as well as to explore the world for herself. Her fight with the Rockruff and the stories that he had told her had sparkled her imagination and set alight the passion that was within her woolly frame. The quiet life was just not for her and life was too short to be spent lying around in a meadow. He burst out laughing at her words and gave her his blessing, as did her parents when she then spoke to them about it. They suggested that she travel to a town known as Grassveil and that it would be a great place to start. With a cheerful farewell, she then left her family home and started on her new journey.
There was just one question though....Where the heck was Grassveil?
