Forming Spinel

After a string of encounters and adventures, including a most unusual one in Grassveil's town centre, Opal made her way to the headquarters of the local guild. She intended to join its ranks and become part of an exploration team, maybe even start one of her own. During her conversation, the young growlithe had been thinking about how amazing it would be to help people while going on adventures. You got to see new places, meet new faces and make new friends. All of this was very exciting to little Opal. She was already thinking about what kinds of missions she'd like to take on as she walked through the entrance.

Though she was alone when she arrived in town, the Growlithe had made a lot of new friends. One of them, a Spinda, was with her now. They'd met in Pecha Forest, her feasting on berries while he was running around lost. Some of the locals tried to mug them, but teamwork prevailed and the pair made it out safe. It made for quite an eventful day, and making their alliance formal was something that appealed to the both of them. Thus, it was off to the guild the next morning after spending the night in a hotel.

A pleasant foyer greeted the pup, but it wasn't what she was looking for. She glanced at the portraits hanging on the walls before continuing on down the short set of stairs. She saw busy pokemon going about their business, groups huddled in quiet discussion, more groups looking at something on the walls she'd just come through. Now this was more like it! Here was clearly what the fiery canine had been seeking. There was just one problem: she didn't know who to talk to in order to become a guild member.

Opal looked around, scanning everyone there, trying to find someone who looked important. Maybe whoever ran things was in fact present, and she simply hadn't noticed? She'd got directions to the guild, but hadn't thought to ask about the guildmaster or their staff. Anyone who paid attention to the growlithe would see that she appeared lost. She was taking in her surroundings, but had no idea what to do now she'd finally arrived. All she could do was look to Cimche and hope that he had an idea.

"Have a nice day, and thank you."Cimche said with a bow. Looking over to the bedding material he took some and placed it in a pile, looking over it for a second he began to dig through the little hill, the straw flying all over the place as he flung it around. when he stopped he was nestled between all of it, his ears sticking out from it all."This seems about right." He said sarcastically.

He looked over to Opal as she made her nest, ears only in view as they turned to face her."You think we should go look for mission right now or should we do it later? Im ready to go whenever."

After thanking the Guildmaster again and bidding her farewell, Opal put the finishing touches to her nest. It might not be a masterpiece, but that could hardly be expected, and it was perfectly serviceable anyway. She lay down in the middle, enjoying the feel of her handiwork, when she heard Cimche talking in a sarcastic voice.

"Huh? What's the matter... Oh!" Opal couldn't help but laugh a little at her friend's attempt to manipulate his pile of straw, "Would you like a bit of help with that? We can look at the missions once we've got your nest sorted."

"Sounds like a plan. Thank you." He said, afterwards attempting to get out of his pile, making a big mess of the situation as he shook off the straw. Getting help from Opal made it much easier for him to complete his nest, it being a more neat, and clean version on his pile once it was complete.

Looking at mostly Opal handi... paw... pawdiwork, he laid on top of the comfy nest, enjoying the comfort of it for a while. "Thanks Opal, this is much better." He said, sitting up from his newly built nest. "Well, ready to go see about that request board?"

"You're welcome," Opal replied, pleased that she had helped someone. She got very excited when Cimche suggested checking the request board for a mission they could do. The Growlithe was just as eager as the Spinda, and leapt to her feet. "Am I ready to check the request board? Of course I am! Yip!"

Opal bounced along beside her teammate. Imagine her surprise when she saw not one board, but two! "Wow!" the pup exclaimed, "This is amazing! Why don't you check this board here, and I'll go and have a look at the other one? Faye said to start with something basic, right?"

Cimche looked over to the other board with confusion, unsure which one the other one was. Was it more request? Or perhaps a different rank of them? When he heard Opals first question he answered with a hum of approval. "Yeah, I guess stuff like find someone's stuff or help some mon with a problem." He said, not sure what would be the limit for beginners.

Looking at the board he looked to see that most if not all of the flyers had a Pokémon printed on them, along with WANTED scrawled on the bottom. "I think I got the wrong board." He whispered to himself. He was not sure if they where ready to take on wanted criminals, then again for how they met and fended of those Pokémon in Pecha Forest they could if the wanted. He abandoned the thought and just waited at the board, making himself look like he was searching on the board as he waited for Opal to come back with something.

It wasn't long before Opal came trotting over to Cimche with three papers she'd found on the other board. She eagerly pushed them in front of her companion and began describing the requests she'd selected.

"This one's in Pecha Forest, see? We just came from there yesterday, so we know we can handle it. Or what about this one? Someone's child has gone missing! Wouldn't it be great to see the smiles on that family's face when we reunite them? Oh, but look, there's a bully right here in Grassveil Town! What a terrible thing!"

Opal studied the papers some more, then looked up at Cimche. "I'm not sure which mission to choose. They all sound important. How about you decide?"

Cimche looked at the missions Opal had brought to him, looking at them It seemed the most important one was the lost child, it possibly being more dangerous. the other two seemed like personal problems for the most part. But looking into one, the bully situation seemed like the problem at hand. It seemed like it would make for a good beginners quest, he just hope someone would get on the lost child mission soon.

Picking out the paper from the rest he held it out to Opal, declaring this be their first mission. "Well, seems like we have a bully problem to solve." He said with a smile. Going over to the board he placed the rest back on, looking at the lost child post he wondered if the kid would be alright. If he could get done with this quest soon he would do that one next.

Looking at Opal he held the paper over his head. "Mission time!" He said, waving it over his head as he made his way out of the building, this being his first mission he kinda wondered if he would mess it up, but he kept his smile on as he continued to walk out. With his companion by his side, they where determined to help those in need.
