Forming Spinel

After a string of encounters and adventures, including a most unusual one in Grassveil's town centre, Opal made her way to the headquarters of the local guild. She intended to join its ranks and become part of an exploration team, maybe even start one of her own. During her conversation, the young growlithe had been thinking about how amazing it would be to help people while going on adventures. You got to see new places, meet new faces and make new friends. All of this was very exciting to little Opal. She was already thinking about what kinds of missions she'd like to take on as she walked through the entrance.

Though she was alone when she arrived in town, the Growlithe had made a lot of new friends. One of them, a Spinda, was with her now. They'd met in Pecha Forest, her feasting on berries while he was running around lost. Some of the locals tried to mug them, but teamwork prevailed and the pair made it out safe. It made for quite an eventful day, and making their alliance formal was something that appealed to the both of them. Thus, it was off to the guild the next morning after spending the night in a hotel.

A pleasant foyer greeted the pup, but it wasn't what she was looking for. She glanced at the portraits hanging on the walls before continuing on down the short set of stairs. She saw busy pokemon going about their business, groups huddled in quiet discussion, more groups looking at something on the walls she'd just come through. Now this was more like it! Here was clearly what the fiery canine had been seeking. There was just one problem: she didn't know who to talk to in order to become a guild member.

Opal looked around, scanning everyone there, trying to find someone who looked important. Maybe whoever ran things was in fact present, and she simply hadn't noticed? She'd got directions to the guild, but hadn't thought to ask about the guildmaster or their staff. Anyone who paid attention to the growlithe would see that she appeared lost. She was taking in her surroundings, but had no idea what to do now she'd finally arrived. All she could do was look to Cimche and hope that he had an idea.

Things seemed to be going fast for Cimche. He got lost in a forest, helped by Opal to get to his  destination, encountered trouble along the way, and now plan to join a guild togeather. He was excited to join the guild, but not sure how to register.

Cimche looked over to Opal to see the same lost look that he beared. He wasn't sure what they where supposed to do to join a guild, for the most part he thought they would get attention for looking new,  but it seemed that was not the case. With so many pokemon around he guess the place was buzy, probably they had to wait? He looked around to see if anything stood out, like a desk or a pokemon that seemed to work there.

"So you have any clue what we should be looking for?" He asked Opal as he looked around.

He began to walk a random direction as he looked around to see If their would at least be a sign intailing the registration area. When he couldn't see anything like that he got a little frustrated, and taking in a deep breath yelled for all to hear.

"Hey! where you register fot the guild!"

The Guild was as busy as always, with Pokémon flitting to and fro, both heading out for missions and coming back successful – or not so successful – to report their status. There was a steady stream of groups moving as one, hustle and bustle filing the air with speech and all sorts of sounds echoing near and far. Dinnertime was fast approaching as well, some of the more eager ones already making their ways to the large mess halls from which delicious scents were slowly starting to waft into the halls.

The two newcomers seemed to be lost to many in their busyness, their presence barely registering to those with something else on their minds. But as the small Spinda with the less small voice yelled out, many eyes turned towards the duo almost in unison. However, before anyone could approach them or even say a thing, their eyes were caught by something above the two – or behind the two? Many hands and paws were raised in a small greeting, some nodding in very much the same vein. A fragrant smell of flowers grew nearby along with slow, steady but quite heavy footsteps.

"Hello, dearies. Was there an issue of some sort?" Came a soft, feminine voice from above as the Meganium stopped behind the two newcomers.

Cimche turned around to see the massive form of the Meganium, her form looming over them as he breathed in the scent. He wasn't sure if the fragrant was coming from her but it slowly calmed his frustration as he breathed it in. It calmed him down so quickly he forgot what he was mad about.

"Ummm... I kinda forgot." He said, rubbing his head in slight confusion.

He took a second to think of what it was they needed, but couldn't seem to find what his mind has lost. looking over to Opal he asked. "Do you remember what we needed?"

Opal turned around to look at... wow, that was a really big pokemon! But the Growlithe was happy that someone had finally noticed them. She sat down and craned her neck to try and get a better view of the Meganium's face as she answered. Before she could, though, Cimche gave a response that earned him a strange look from the fiery pup. Had he really forgotten already? They'd only just arrived! It was a good thing she knew him to be smarter than he appeared.

The fire type returned her attention to the feminine figure who had addressed them. "Hello! We want to join the guild, but we can't find the Guildmaster," she finally had the chance to reply, "Could you help us? You look like you know a lot!"

((Hello! Thank you for taking the time to introduce us to Faye! I thought you'd gone inactive and was wondering who the heck we were supposed to talk to now. Great to see you're still around!))

Faye tilted her head slightly as the Spinda seemed to forget what it was he had even shouted just a moment ago, but the smile on her lips suggested that she wasn't upset. Perhaps it was good that her morning walk had been delayed, so she got back at the right time to meet these two. The Meganium's eyes turned towards the Growlithe as she took a moment to speak and explain their issue to her.

"Ah. I see," she hummed with a smile, occasionally nodding at the Pokémon that walked beside her and gave her their greetings. Now that everything was under control, the usual hustle and bustle started once again around them.
"Of course I can help you, dearies. Would you like to be led to the Guildmaster's quarters right away, or are there perhaps any questions you'd like to ask me beforehand? I am in no hurry."

Cimche held his head in thought before jumping in mock surprise. "We should introduce ourselves."  With a wobbly bow he addressed himself. "My name is Cimche, nice to meet ya."

He took a second to think if their was anything he needed answering while he looked at the Meganium, mostly focused on the petals that adorn her neck. "Is that smell I smell coming from you? it smells nice." He said as he examined her petals getting lost in their colors, but with a shake of his head focused back on her as he awaited  an answer.

"Of course! I'm Opal, and I want to sign up right away! I want to do missions! What could be better than going on adventures and helping pokemon along the way?"

Opal was so excited that she had yet to work out exactly who they were talking to. She couldn't think of anything she wanted to ask, she just wanted to be an official guild member. The pup did agree that they should introduce themselves, though, and so she did, tail wagging and paws dancing the whole time. There was even an excited bark to punctuate the end of her speech.

The Meganium couldn't help but laugh softly at the excitement of the two Pokémon that introduced themselves as Cimche and Opal, all raring to go and become explorers. That, and it was quite amusing to hear someone commenting on her scent. Perhaps many did share the Spinda's opinion, but she had to admit that very few actually had the guts to say it right to her face.
"I believe so," she chuckled her answer to Cimche's question before turning her gaze towards the Growlithe.

"That is a very admirable goal, sweetie. Now, if you would just follow me," Faye craned her neck towards the two for a moment before straightening it and continuing her journey where she had been going all this time. With her in lead, the Pokémon in the Guild gave them all a wide berth – perhaps because the Meganium was large enough to cause some serious trouble if she accidentally stepped on someone smaller. Occasionally she glanced behind her to make sure Opal and Cimche were still there.

A vine slithered from behind the large flower as Faye reached for a certain door and opened it, revealing a room with a rather official-looking wooden desk and a shelved back wall covered in books and potted plants. Other than that however, the room was empty. No Pokémon in sight.
"Here we are."

The fiery youngster practically bounced along behind the Meganium, she was so enthusiastic. It was happening, it was finally happening! She was becoming an actual explorer! So elated was she that she didn't even check to see if her partner to be was following as well. She just assumed Cimche was keeping up. It wasn't until they reached the Guildmaster's quarters that she calmed down. The Growlithe looked around the room, trying to work out where this important figure was, but they were not to be found. Or were they?

Opal noticed the abundance of plants and overall feel of the room. Whoever ran things here must be a sophisticated pokemon. Their love of vegetation was fairly obvious, too. Could it be a grass type in charge? Funny, the kind green giant with them appeared to match all of these observations.

Hang on...

"Are you the Guildmaster?" the pup asked, her tone of enthusiasm now replaced with one of awe. She was still very eager, of course, but this revelation was a surprise. The top pokemon was standing right in front of them, majestic yet humble. It was great to know they'd have such a lovely and pleasant boss to work under.

Cimche tottered his way alond the guild floor as he followed the two into the next room, but taking his time as he swayed his way to other pokemon as he waved to them in greeting, having fun with it once or twice as he startled some of them with his confusing movement.

He kinda wondered who the guildmaster would be, imagining up a few ideas as he continued to follow. Once they were wherever they where going, the door was opened to reveal a room having quite the tranquil feel to it.

When he heard opal ask if she was the guildmaster Cimche was slightly less surprised. He kinda was thinking "The guildmaster would be more firm than laid back..."

It took him a few seconds to notice he was talking out loud, stuttering as he tried to retract his statement. "I meant to keep that thought in my mind. No offence." He said as he pulled his ears in front of his face in embarrassment.

Faye's eyes were on the two young Pokémon as she watched them take in the sights, stepping a bit out of the way as she held the door open so they could come inside properly. The Growlithe seemed to catch on quite fast, the Meganium's gaze finding its way to Opal's face when she started to wonder her status in the Guild. Before she could answer however, the Spinda was quicker to say his thoughts on the matter and the aura of a Guildmaster. Faye couldn't help but chuckle.

"There is a time and place for everything, sweetie. When to be firm, when to be laid back," she started, taking a few steps into the room as she motioned the two to follow her,
"I would be the Guildmaster of Grassveil's Guild, Faye. Please, take a seat if you'd like," Faye continued as she made her way behind the heavy desk – in front of which a few small seats awaited.

Opal gave her companion another look and was about to scold him, but Faye beat her to a response. Her words intrigued the Growlithe. A point had been made without any annoyance whatsoever. That was quite impressive to the pup with a boisterous attitude. Faye had a kind of motherly air about her, albeit of a different kind than Opal's own mother. Point was, the green giant made her feel safe and valued.

Almost as soon as she was invited, Opal ran over to the desk and hopped up on the nearest available seat. She watched the Meganium eagerly, looking forward to become part of the guild. The little Growlithe was already thinking about what kinds of missions might await her. Checking those out would be her next port of call after this meeting.

He took in her words them feeling quite wise, He wondered how she would composed be when she has to be a firm, strong leader. Not that she wasn't strong being laid back, but still he wondered. After getting over his embarrassment Cimche took the offer of a seat, flopping on the chair before he looked around, nothing of interest really catching his eye.

He took a quick glance to Opal, seeing her excitement before turning his view back to Faye, waiting for her to continue her introduction.

The door to the room was closed behind the trio. Faye stayed silent for a moment as her eyes scanned the various bookshelves, pulling out one rather heavy-looking tome and placing it on the desk between her and the other two.
"Now, signing up in the Guild is nothing more than recording the name of your team and its members on these pages. That part isn't going to take long, but you do need a name – and of course, if there are any questions you have before signing up, this would be the moment to ask them."
