Saku vs Jay - Randomised Contest Battle

Rules;
1. Must use the first(or agreed number of[In this case; 3]) Pokemon to come up on the randomiser
2. Can use the whole level up movepool of that Pokemon, plus 1 egg/tm/tutor move
3. One ability, normal or dream world can be chosen
4. No legendaries
5. No godmodding/powerplaying
6. Must nickname the Pokemon used (Just because I think it'll be funny xD)
7. Screencap of Pokemon should be placed in a spoiler in your first In Character post.
8. Idk if there's anything else xD

Contest Rules;
1. A unbiased judge must be used to calculate and judge how many points are lost for each move in the battle rounds.

Sakura fidgeted around in her contest outfit. She loved contests, and visited them alot but that did nothing to calm her nerves. She vaugely heard her name being called out for the appeal, and then walked up to the stage. "Come on out, Gray Sheild!" She clicked the button causing a white light to appear, as well as a few shimmering stars. The light dissappeared to show a Shelgon.



"Shelgon!"

"Gray Sheild, astonish the crowd with your Dragon Dance!" she cried,

The Shelgon started the Dragon Dance slowly with little purple embers, but then all of a sudden danced faster turning around, and making a giant purple flaming whirlpool,

"Now! Ember, then use Dragon Breath!"

The Shelgon used a single golden ember at 5 points then breathed on each of them, making them look like purplish comets, flying away from him. The twister continued on, refusing to die down, and if you happened to look from above, the 5 embers at each point were like a connect the dot puzzle, making a star.

"Finish it with Rage!" She commanded.

The Sheldgon's Rage caused a mini explosion causing everything to fly away in purple stars.

She and Gray Sheild bowed, and then she returned him, "Good job," She mumbled. She walked off the stage hoping that she made it in the finals.

This is the dress Jay is wearing for her appeal and battles:

Jay heard her name called and she hopped to her feet, grabbing the Pokeball of her chosen Pokemon and making her way towards the field.

She stepped out onto the sandy battlefield, doing a small twist across the field, making her red dress splay outwards. As the spin came full circle she tossed her Pokeball across the field and it opened. There was a spray of glitter and sparkles before an Accelgor materialised among them.

"Alright Axel! Swift!"

The Accelgor raised his stubbly arms and loud out a loud cry of 'Accel!' before he did as he was bid.
The bug type Pokemon span, the multiple stars from the Swift creating a golden ring around him.

"Acid Spray!" called Jay, eager to move on with the performance before the crowd lost interest in the golden Swift Ring.

The Accelgor also felt it was time to move on. He paused for a moment before spinning the other way and using Acid Spray. It covered the golden ring in an purple liquid causing the ring to begin glowing an eerie lilac instead of gold.

"Quick Attack!" she then called. The Accelgor nodded and stopped spinning. He used Quick Attack on the still spinning ring around him, forcing the ring to fly outwards and spread out across the arena.

"Bug Buzz!"

With one final movement, Axel began to shake his body and emit a loud buzzing noise. The powerful soundwaves vibrated around the arena until they reached each of the acid covered stars. As each came into contact with the sound waves, they exploded into a flurry of purple and gold glitter, drifting down towards the ground to complete the simple but beautiful spectacle.

Jay bowed to the crowd before congratulating her Pokemon and returning to the backstage area where she would await the judges opinions.

She watched the screen intently, she knew that Jay was amazing at contest battles, and she knew that she would be in, but she was a bit more worried that she might not make it past the appeal.

"The contestants that will advance to the next round are Jay, Sakura-"
She couldn't hear the rest of it, she was so glad that she made it.

Walking on the stage again caused her to be nervous. Because she knew who her opponent was going to be. Her opponent was Jay. But she had to be strong and she could do this. She knew she could.

"Let's go! Nini, and Draco!" she cried clicking the respective Pokeballs.

2 flashes of white light appeared, while one of them had pink bubbles the other had little eletrical sparks. As they all faded away, they revealed her Pokemon, a Ninjask and a Gible. She believed that her Pokemon would do well, she knew they didn't give up till the end. But it was herself that she was worried about.

Jay grinned as her name was announced as one of the coordinators who had progressed to the battle rounds. Although she always felt a pang of sorrow for those who hadn't made it, she wouldn't let it dampen her mood. Being called out first usually meant that she would be the first to battle in the next round. She immediately regretted not listening out for whose name had come afterward.

After selecting the two Pokemon she would use in the battle round, she gently stepped out onto the field. She gave a small nod and a smile to Sakura who was on the other side of the arena before looking at the two Pokeballs in her hands.

"Melody and Daryl! Do your best!"

Jay threw both Pokeballs upwards and a Swablu and a Samurott appeared within a flurry of pale white feathers and water droplets respectively. She knew she had to be cautious in this battle as although Daryl was used to it, this would be Melody's first contest battle.

"Melody use Safeguard! Daryl, start with Swords Dance!"

The Swablu fluttered overhead of Daryl and began to chant in an almost whisper. It was like a quiet song, the bird Pokemon beginning to spin gently as pale green vortexes of light formed above and below her. The vortexes soon joined to form one large green sphere around both Melody and Daryl. As soon as it had appeared, the green barrier faded away, but Jay had likely gained points from it and it's lingering effects.

Meanwhile, the Samurott had stood up on two legs and had taken his seamitars from their sheaths. As the Swablu sung and span above him, he performed a graceful dance using his swords. Though it flowed more like a ballet than a martial art, it was clear that Daryl was showing off his strength. More points lost on Sakura's side...

The one and only (literally) MC and Judge Ripple was sat in a booth not far from the battle field. She watched in awe at the beautiful display that Jay had created and grabbed her mic, flicking it on as she raised it to her mouth.

"A simply LOVELY display by Jay here in the Ecruteak Contest Hall! I'm your MC Ripple and this evening we're watching two great coordinators go head to head!" The MC's long brown hair flew around wildly as she leaped up for dramatic effect. She fiddled around with something hidden on her desk and the points dropped on the screen in the Contest Hall. Ten points lost by Sakura.

Ripple's gaze flicked back to the audience. They looked enraptured. She turned back and allowed herself a small self-satisfied grin. "Alright folks! Let's see how this battle shapes up."

Sakura bit her lip as she watched her points slowly dwindle; she had to do something about it. There was this one move-it was risky but what else could she do?

"Nini, use Agility! Draco, use Twister." The Ninjask flew over the Gible's head and it began.

Draco started up the purplish flames like in her appeal, but it was weak, and slightly fast.

Nini suddenly began to move in a circle along the edge of the Twister, and began moving faster and faster till she was a little black smudge that you could see through the purplish flame. The tornado was moving steadily at first was moving towards the duo at a breakneck speed, and the walls were as hard as steel. The entire almost solid purple fire then hit the duo, the explosion causing a blinding violet flash of light.

Sakura knew that the technique was perfect-she spent 3 weeks practicing it, the moment she thought of it in fact. The problem was sending Nini in a giant tornado, right at the opponent. She knew that Nini's speed would most likely save her but still...but she might be okay, because of the secret 3rd move she added once she realized this in practice....

As the violet dust cleared she knew it was now or never. What had happened?

"Melody! Mirror Move! Create that purple Twister for yourself!" yelled Jay before looking to her Samurott.
"Daryl use Razor Jet! Just like we practiced but through the middle of the Twister!"

The Samurott nodded, watching as the swirling violet twister was formed above his head. As Melody prepared to loose the powerful dragon attack back across the field, she chirruped down to Daryl, signalling that she was ready.

"Samuurr."
Daryl leaped into the vortex just as Melody fired the dragon tornado across the arena. The water type used his Aqua Jet to burst through the middle, keeping up with the Twister. He held one of his seamitars in front of him as he span, hoping to inflict extra damage with the Razor Shell part of this combination. The water from the Aqua Jet also displaced some of the violet dragon-energy meaning that Jay's version was a blue and violet tornado heading straight towards the original. The transparency of the water also enabled you to catch sight of the Samurott, showing off his beauty and skill where Sakura's technique had not.

The original and the water imbued copy collided with each other, the smoke and mist that resulted taking a few moments to clear. All four Pokemon were still standing, but tiny glittering water droplets began to delicately rain down across the field. They had been caused by Daryl's Aqua Jet and were landing gently on his waterproof fur. Because of his typing, they did nothing to irritate him and instead made him look rather fetching.

Ripple was watching with bated breath along with the rest of the audience as the mist and smoke cleared. She let out a relieved breath after seeing all Pokemon were still standing. The MC then sat back down and raised the mic once more.

"After such an astounding display that shows true forethought and beauty, Jay and Sakura's Pokemon remain still standing!" She beamed at the two trainers before adjusting the point total.

A Five point loss on Jay's side and a ten point loss on Sakura's.

Sakura looked back at the field, her risky move caused her to lose more points than before, she had to get back in there.

"Nini, Shadow Ball then Agility! Draco, use Dragon Rush!" She cried.

Nini made a dark blob appear out of thin air, and then launched it at the Dragon-type. At perfect timing, Draco suddenly rushed at the duo, and then the shadow ball cloaked him in darkness, causing a shimmering wave of light and darkness to surround the Pokemon, being not only beautiful, but also it was slightly blinding to the other side. Nini suddenly spun around the light, spinning causing it to go faster, once her speed was at absolute max, breaking the sound barrier, she got enough lift, and the two pokemon were not high, but in the air.

"Melody! Spin and use Dragon Pulse!"
Jay wasn't worried about the light. It was born of darkness and dragon type moves could never hope to blind her Pokemon. The Safeguard she still had protecting her team also saw to this.

The Swablu began to spin on the spot. She remained facing the Ninjask and the Gible as they sped towards them. Just as she had practiced outside of the battle, she fire off two separate Pulses whilst spinning. The two halves of the attack spun around each other to look rather appealing whilst still having space in the middle for something more.

"Daryl, Ice Beam down the middle!"

Melody quickly veered upwards to avoid the Samurott's icy attack. The beam went straight through the middle of the two icy beams to play on both of the Gible's weaknesses. The beam also daringly froze the edges of the pulse, giving it a glittering appearance when viewed from certain angles. The way the move was spinning, the audience could clearly see the combination of icy particles with the pulse's power.

The attack grew closer and closer towards the Ninjask and the Gible whilst Melody and Daryl themselves remained at a safe distance.

Ripple watched in dead silence excluding the roaring of the crowd. Currently the audience was in one of their lulls of quiet until Sakura unleashed her attack and they cheered uproariously. The same happened for Jay's attack. It appeared both coordinators had fans.

Ripple herself wasn't rooting for either. That was her job as MC/Judge! "In a stunning display of light versus dark, Sakura and Jay's battle grows ever intense! While Jay's is clean cut with no room for error, Sakura's is a bit more risky. It shows their battle styles beautifully!~" Ripple was getting a bit carried away. The people in the crowd were giving her weird looks.

"At any rate, the communication between Jay's Pokemon is what gives her the advantage here in such an intense battle!"

"Come on.... I know you can pull it off!" She mumbled, then looked up.

"DRACO! Use dig! Nini, reverse pull!"

Nini,struggled to move the opposite way, forcing it to slow down enough for Draco to dig underground. The Dragon Pulse infused Ice beam flew just overhead missing them. Then multiple little holes appeared in the ground.

"Draco, Sand Storm!"

The little dragon pokemon popped out of the hole, and then made a giant sandstorm across the whole place before popping back in again.

Sakura knew that Jay would have a counter for everything so she had to think of something. Suddenly a lightbulb when off in her head.

"Draco meet with Nini, then use Double Team!"

Soon the tiny network was full of Ninis and Dracos.

"Ice Beam on the ground!"
Whilst Draco and Nini were concentrating on reaching the ground, Daryl merely paused for a moment, redirecting the Ice Beam from within the Dragon Pulse and towards the ground. IT didn't take long for it to freeze over and become to hard and slippery for anyone to dig through.

As the Gible used his Sandstorm, he would have found it hard to stand upon the smooth ice. His typing as well, didn't make it any better for him. Daryl however, was perfectly adept to it, After all it was his own move... and Melody was able to just fly above it.

"Melody, Haze! Then use Sing into the smoke! Daryl. Strengthen that Ice! We can't let them get through!"

The Swablu nodded and her beak parted again, releasing a dark black smoke across the arena, surrounding Nini and Draco. It obscured the vision of the two opponents, rendering their Double Team next to useless.
Melody then shook her feathers and parted her beak a second time, all the while Daryl was using Ice Beam on the ground, thickening the sheet of ice below them.
The Swablu began to sing, the colourful notes heading into the inky depths of the Haze. The audience could hear the beautiful song and could still see the notes almost leaking out of the black smoke. It was an odd contrast, the blackness and then the stark, bright colours that kept emerging from it, only to head back inside once more.

"Swords Dance, Daryl. Combine it with Ice Beam!"
As Melody continued with her song, the Samurott began to dance once more. This time however, his dance matched the sharp coldness of the icy arena. As he danced and span on his hind legs, the Ice Beam twirled around him, still meeting the ground and continuing to freeze it, but looking almost like an appeal move at the same time.

The crowd made the appropriate 'ooh's and 'aah's as Jay's and Sakura's Pokemon battled it out on the now ice cold stage. Ripple was clutching her microphone so tightly that her knuckles were white. She was leaned forward in anticipation.

That was when Haze began. Ripple's eyes grew wide and she grinned brilliantly at the beautiful notes popping out of the cloud. She observed Sakura's Pokemon closely, eager to see how they would react to having their attacks countered yet again.

Ripple frowned. What Sakura had done was both inventive and would've worked well had she been against a less formidable opponent. However, Jay's counter attack was both brilliant and beautiful. Needless to say, both Sakura and Ripple had their work cut out for them.
