Ripple vs Acti - Randomised Contest Battle

Rules;
1. Must use the first(or agreed number of[In this case; 3]) Pokemon to come up on the randomiser
2. Can use the whole level up movepool of that Pokemon, plus 1 egg, tm/tutor move
3. One ability, normal or dream world can be chosen
4. No legendaries
5. No godmodding/powerplaying
6. Must nickname the Pokemon used (Just because I think it'll be funny xD)
7. Screencap of Pokemon should be placed in a spoiler in your first In Character post.
8. Idk if there's anything else xD

In Contest Rules;
1. A unbiased judge must be used to calculate and judge how many points are lost for each move in the battle rounds.
2. If you have a Pokemon that has not yet reached their final evolution then you may evolve them during battle at an opportune time. ONLY ONCE PER PERSON.

Ripple's Team:

Ripple inhaled deeply before opening her eyes and grinning. She was going to own this. The other participants would bow down to her by the time she got through.

She pushed past the red curtain that barred the way to the center stage. As she walked onto the flat black expanse of floor, head held high, she pulled out a single red and white Pokeball. It was encased in a ball capsule and had a seal embossed on the front where the button was. She flashed a bright white smile at the judges and audience before she threw out her first Pokemon.

"Go, Iota!"

Out from the ball came sparks that grew into flames. They licked at the Pokemon before slowly dissipating and leaving a single Larvesta in front of Ripple. It was time this appeal began.

"Alright, Iota! Magnet Rise!"

The Larvesta hummed with a deep energy. It glowed a pale yellow as it slowly rose high above it's coordinator's head. And there it stayed. "Now, Will-o-Wisp!"

The Bug-Fire Pokemon opened it's mouth and released a number of small blueish white flames. As the duo had practiced, it guided them to various points around the Contest Hall until they were dotted around the entire place, flickering with a slightly ominous air.

"Next, use Bug Buzz!"

The Larvesta shuffled its wings together gently, a low quiet hum beginning to fill the the hall. The vibrations moved the lantern-like lights just enough for them to appear as if they were dancing along to a tune. Now for the big finish.

"Now, Iota! Acrobatics!"

Iota, still glowing a pale yellow from the Magnet Rise attack, flipped about in the air, passing through the Will-o-Wisp lanterns as if they were nothing. Their flames lapped at her fur(?) and caused her to look like a smoldering ember flying high above the heads of the audience. She returned to her spot above Ripple for her final command.

"Bug Buzz, once more!"

Iota buzzed her wings together again. She buzzed them harder and faster this time, the sound growing steadily louder. Finally, as the noise came to a climax, the remaining flames grew big and then flashed out of existence, leaving only smoke in their wake.

Iota gently floated back down to the ground by her coordinator's feet and looked up at her. Ripple looked to her and gave her a reassuring smile. She looked back up, eager and nervous all at once to see and hear the crowds' and the judge's opinions.

"And what a great start to the Hearthome Contest's Appeals Round!" grinned Jay, the commentator for this specific contest. She was up in her box, viewing the spectacle below.

"The crowd is absolutely buzzing after that eerie yet strangely engaging display! The inventive use of Magnet Rise payed off after the brilliant effect of the flames just licking at Iota's white fur. And that finale! It was almost like theater! I'd hate to be the one following that amazing appeal!"

Jay's voice echoed around the contest hall, the crowds drinking the compliments that Jay readily gave out to Ripple for her simple but astounding appeal. Their cheering seemed to get everyone psyched and ready for the next round.

"Well then folks. Acti is up next with her Whirlipede(?)! Can she live up to Ripple's splendour?"

The young Coordinator who was known as by the alias Headphone Actor, or in this case just Acti, stood up proud and tall on stage, readying her Pokeballs. She felt that this was her time to shine. She watched her opponent's performance. It was pretty darn good. Still, she was going for a more physical approach to this, less special effects and more agility.

She reached for one, the one containing a Whirlipede. It was covered in a capsule with seals

"Annnd, go! Come on out, Gakupo!" she called, sending her Pokeball high in the air, the Whirlipede popping out in a flash of purple sparkles that mimic the Pokemon's scales, spinning around as he came down.

"Whirl! Whirlipede!"

"Okay, Gakupo! Start off with a Rollout!"

Gakpo started going faster and faster in a circle, speeding up round and round tilted toward the center, dust being kicked up. Acti waited for him to go at top speed, then called out his next move.

"Now, poison jab!"

Gakupo's antennae glowed purple, and he hit the ground with them, launching him spinning into the air. Where the attack hit the ground a small purple ripple appeared.

While Gakupo was in the air, slightly before he'd reach the top of his jump, Acti called out her second to last part of her appeal. "Venoshock, now!" The spining Whilipede launched a purple spray in a swirl as he spun, making an effect kind of like a fountain, the poison spray used just light enough to make each stream go in an arc. Acti watched him start to fall, losing height by the second.

"Okay, finish this off with another rollout!"

Gakupo hit the ground spinning, rolling up the wall of the stage and up into the air, doing twists before coming back down the wall. He stopped rolling, right next to Acti herself.

“Whirllll!” he called.

“Great job, Gakupo! You did great!” Acti patted him and then bowed. hoping for a good response from the crowd. She would admit it wasn’t her best, but she thought it was pretty good. Still, she had planned her battle phase out with some pretty good combos, ready for the next part of the contests. She'd take things as they came.

Sakura's eyes shone. Although she wasn't necessarily the judge or MC in this contest battle-she was a contest battle MC in training. But it didn't stop her from trying. "A rare occurrence? Physical. What daring. But is it enough to move out of Ripple's shadow? Let's see what Jay has to say." She cried, holding her mike. Truth be told, this is where she failed, she enjoyed a lot of styles. She enjoyed the fact that Ripple's act was eerie, mystifying and beautiful, but she loved that Acti's act was different, interesting and intensifying. So this is where the she let the professional do her duty.

"Acti's appeal sure brings something new to the table! The great combination of physical moves creates something that is truly unique! We're off to an impressive start to the hearthome contest! Two appeals in and we already have an array of breathtaking performances that could rival even the best coordinators!"
Jay grinned at Sakura after she called her own opinion through the mic.


"And finally, the battle rounds! We saw both of these coordinators very early on during the appeals round. What a battle this is going to be! You can just feel the tension on the field! Acti and Ripple. Who will win?"

Ripple had changed out of her earlier costume and was into a less showy, more casual dress. It was a deep blue with yellow edges that poofed out at the waist before stopping just above her knees. She was confident in both her attacks and her appearance. She was going to give it her all.

"Go, Pinna and Skylar!"

Out from multicolored Pokeballs came a Finneon and a Staravia; The Finneon with a splash effect seal and the Staravia with multi-colored feathers. Ripple had decided earlier that she was going to start out a bit toned down with a nice combo she had thought up quite some time ago.

"Pinna, Silver Wind! Skylar, Steel Wing!"

The Finneon closed its eyes and before long, a soft wind had begun blowing through out the stadium. Her eyes slid open as the wind grew stronger. The wind was glittering in a peculiar manner as the Staravia unleashed his attack. He hardened his wings before taking off. As he flew, the wind cast a beautiful shimmer onto his dull steeled wings. He struck the opponents Pokemon with the wings before corkscrewing high into the air where he circled for a moment before coming down lower in tight spiral.

Ripple narrowed her eyes, unsure of whether she had started off the battle with a nice kick. She went in for her final move of the round. "Aqua Ring, Pinna!" She announced. "Keep up the Silver Wind as well!"

The Finneon surrounded herself with water rings, spinning to and fro but always staying compacted around her. Afterwards she started up the Silver Wind once more. The glittering breeze reflected in the water was stunning to say the least.

Ripple seemed content for now. She gazed at Acti, wondering what her battle style would be like.

Acti smiled at her opponent. She held her two other Pokeballs right out in front, called out a "Good luck!" to Ripple, and neatly tossed them into the air.

"Come on out, Kaito and Gumi!" she called, the Squirtle and Servine poppung out in a flurry of water droplets and leaves thanks to the seals on their Pokeballs.

Acti watched Ripple start to prepare her attack, then got right to hers . It was a simple combo where the two Pokemon needed to be in sync. Her Pokemon were positioned equally, a few yards appart.

"Kaito, Water Pulse at Gumi!" Acti called, "Gumi, same with Kaito but with Energy Ball!" Without a second thought, they did exactly what they practiced before. They readied their attack, sending their elemental pulses at each other.

"Now, Aqua Tail! Leaf Blade!" Kaito and Gumi let out their cries as the used their attacks to hit each other's projectile, aiming for the Staravia. When the Pokemon hit the green and blue balls of light, the pulses were illuminated with the swirl of the opposite color as they were sent towards the bird Pokemon. Acti was sure the Staravia would dodge it, but if it did she had a plan to get a hit in.

She looked on excitedly. "Opposing Elements on one side and Flying and Steel on another. This is going to be an intesne battle!" she yelled to the roaring crowd. She loved the perfect harmony of the 2 opposing elements, and the neat rainbow shimmer on the steel wings. "Jay, what's the points at?" she asked.

"The way those two move in sync is incredible! Something worthy of a double battle! However the way that silver wind shimmers on Skylar's wings is truly something!" Jay grinned, calling her own opinion over the microphone before she entered the points.
"A strong first move from both coordinators, but the synchronisation of Acti's team gives them bonus points in the eyes of the judges! With all to play for, how will Ripple retaliate?"
