| Subject: Adopting Ko the Spiritomb Mon Sep 18, 2017 4:20 am | |
| » Name: Ko » Gender: Female (controlling spirit) » Species: #442 Spiritomb the Forbidden Pokémon » Affiliation/Rank: None
» Why do you want to adopt them?: I find Ko a very interesting character. She balances on the tip of being an outlaw and an explorer, swinging back and forth like a pendulum and it intrigues me. It would be fun to play such a character. I've read all of her threads and the more I read about her, the more that I love her quirky and snarky character. I also find the challenge of roleplaying 108 spirits all clamoring for attention and for their voice to be heard, interesting. I think I could do a good job of roleplaying her.
» Sample of roleplay:
Hissssss. The wind rustled through the trees overhead, the darkness of night closing in on the forest as the moon rose in the eastern sky. An odd manifestation of purple and green energy swirled in the air below the trees, seeping out of a small rock. Strange glyphs covered the rock, a language unknown to any pokemon today. Nightnightnightnight The thought echoed in the spiritomb's mind, whispered by the spirits that made up the strange, ghostly pokemon. Yees... iiit isss niiight. What isss yooour point?" The spiritomb grumbled to itself in a feminine voice, echoed by the other voices; some masculine, some feminine.
The spiritomb was Ko, and she was irritated by the other spirits. If only she could break the keystone and rid herself of these fools! She could finally be by herself for the first time in centuries! For so long, they had been trapped, deep underground. They spent most of that time sleeping, an amalgamation of dreams from multiple sources making a confused, muddled mess of nightmares. But they had been freed, and she'd taken charge; a significant feat for one spirit amidst 107 others.
It was still difficult to control her actions; she had to fight 107 other commands for every action, every word spoken. Usually she could get the others to go along with her; she was good at leading, manipulating. But lately the spirits had been divided. She had wanted to join the guild from the very start; what better place to start her empire of darkness than at the core of the enemy?
But at every turn, she'd been thwarted of her chances to join; not a single pokemon she had met were willing, or were too much a fool to join her on an exploration team. And what kind of team would she have if she were the only member? No, she could not join the guild alone, and that meant she had to find some lackeys -oops, she meant team members.
But after so long of not finding the right pokemon for the job, the other spirits were getting restless; wanting to spread chaos, as was their right. They wanted to spread chaos now, not later. And so Ko found herself in a conundrum: did she spread chaos to get the other spirits off her back, or did she buckle down and demand they listen to her?
She wanted to do the latter; the mutiny rubbed her in all the wrong ways. She hated being challenged, especially when it came to leading their body. She wanted to tear a new one in the unruly spirits, tell them she was the boss, and that was that. But she was savvy enough to know that such a mode of action would have consequences. The least of which, piss off the other spirits and make them more unwilling to cooperate with her.
Perhaps a bit of light chaos was all they needed? Manipulating some pokemon for their own amusement, perhaps? It was dark, though. Not many pokemon were out at this time of night, let alone in a forest like this. Perhaps she'd travel back to Grassveil, and wait out until day. Day!Day!Day!Day! The echo continued, causing Ko to shake her head, and by extension, whole body, back and forth.
She sighed, and turned toward where she knew the town of Grassveil lay. The journey would take a few hours; then she'd find a place to stash the keystone while she caught up on some sleep.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next day...
"FRESH HOTCAKES! Straight of the griddle! Fresh hotcakes for sale!"
Ko grumbled as a voice trickled through her sleepy mind. Hungry!Hungry!Hungry!Hungry! echoed through her mind, and Ko groaned. Even in her sleep, the others wouldn't shut up! She hissed as their body formed into the morning sun; said ball of light striking her straight in the eyes. This was why she liked the night much better than day; too much light!
"Fresh hotcakes! Get them with oran berries, cheri berries, or chocolate drizzle!" A voice called from beside her. Ko looked around, finally noticing that she was between two stalls in the marketplace of Grassveil Town. And apparently there was a hotcake vendor right next to her.
Well, this would be as good a breakfast as any, she supposed, lifting her head to look at the fresh hotcakes sizzling on the griddle. "I'll taaake ooone, sirrr." Ko said, dragging the keystone behind her so that she stood in front of the vendor, instead of beside it.
The audino vendor smiled at her warmly. "Of course, madam! What kind of drizzle would you like?"
Ko squinted, thinking. Oran Berrychocolatecheri berry whispered the voices of the others. Real helpful, guys, thanks Ko thought back sarcastically. "I'll haaave... chooocolaate." She said finally. There was a chorus of cheers and boos from within the spiritomb, and Ko sighed with a put-upon grimace as she accepted the hotcake plate with her mouth.
She balanced the plate carefully as she glided over to a nearby table. She placed the plate down, and proceeded to eat, very carefully so that she didn't get the chocolate everywhere. Still, she managed to get chocolate smeared around their mouth; she could feel its sticky texture.
A ghostly tongue wormed its way out of her mouth, licking at the remains of the chocolate, until she was sure there was none left. Then Ko picked up the plate and deposited it in the nearby trashcan. She looked out across the marketplace, calculating her next move.
She wanted to find a sucker to manipulate. Perhaps get her some more poke from some unsuspecting sap? Her eyes darted around the marketplace, searching for the right target... Bingo! A trembling totodile, getting yelled at by a hulking machoke; apparently thrown out of an establishment of some kind.
Ko drifted over to the two pokemon, listening in carefully, just in time to hear the tail end of the machoke's speech. "And stay out of Callie's! I mean it, you no-good scoundrel! We don't serve your kind here!"
The trembling totodile's eyes filled with tears as the machoke turned and slammed the door of the establishment they were in front of. Callie's Bar and Grill. Huh. Exactly what kind of pokemon did the place not serve? It was strange, but not exactly rare to find speciests, or typeists, but here in Grassveil it seemed odd, out of place.
"Deeear meee. Does thisss plaaace have a chiiiilly reception? Cuz I thiiink you're geeeting the coooold shoulder," Ko said to the totodile.
The totodile looked up at her, hiccuping; his eyes full of tears. "Wh-what?" He stammered.
Ko stared at the totodile in boredom. "Iiiit's a pun... you knoooow what? Nevermiiind..." Apparently he was also touched in the head besides being a coward and a crybaby. But perfect for what she had in mind. "Loooook, let's getttt you out oooof here... There's noooo neeeeed to staaaand around, loooooking for piiity."
The totodile sniffed, rubbing his nose with his arm, nodding. He followed the spiritomb willingly, over to a small, secluded corner of the marketplace. They wouldn't be disturbed here; it was almost an alleyway. "Sssso, whaaat you dooo to make suuuuch an imprrrresssion on thaaaat guy?" Ko asked curiously, making conversation. It wouldn't take much to open this guy up; see what made him tick, and then go for the throat, right where it would hit him the hardest.
"W-well... I'm... well-known around t-these parts," the totodile said numbly. "See... I have th-this condition..." it stammered out, looking nervous, its eyes darting back and forth.
Ko felt her curiosity turn to intrigue. Condition? What could the totodile be talking about? "Whaaat do yooooou mean?" Ko asked the obvious question.
"...I'm a kleptomaniac. I steal th-things... without really knowing it myself. I'll j-just kinda... find myself with someone else's item, and I didn't even realize I'd stolen it..." the totodile said, hanging his head.
Ko found her smile stretching, becoming quite the evil grin. "Oooooh... isn't thaaaat... fascinating...." she said, barely keeping back an evil laugh. "Gooood thing I caaaan't carrrry anythiiiing. I haaave nothiiiing for yoooou to steal..." Ko winked at the totodile, and he seemed cheered up by this fact.
"Leeeet me tellllll you somethiiiing." Ko said, grinning still. "Yoooou cooooould be the kiiiiing of aaaaall thieves... doooon't you thiiiiink? If yooooou don't eeeeven knooooow you're steaaaaaling; who elssssse would guess it? Go to Raiiiiinfront, wherrrrrre no-one knoooooows you. You'lllllll be the beeeeest at thieving. Aaaaaand whennnn you get toooo the top, rememberrrrr me, Ko. Hmmm?" she wheedled.
"Ummmm, I don't know... I don't wanna be a bad guy... A-and... I don't want to get caught and put into prison!" the totodile muttered. But Ko could see the greed in his gaze, the longing for acceptance.
"Naaaaaah, you wooooon't be a baaaad guy.... you're juuuuust using yooooour naturrrrral talentsssss to even theeeee scallllles." Ko said, grin as wide as ever.
"Yeah... yeah! Maybe... I can.... steal from the rich and give to the poor, like that guy in the legends!"
Ko smiled. "Suuuure. of coooourse. And doooon't forgetttttt. It waaaaaaaas me, that gave you your big breeeeeak. Convinced yoooou life didn't haaaave to be... terrrrrrrible."
"Of course... Ko, wasn't it? I'll remember you!" the totodile seemed to have a lot more confidence now. Ko smirked. Spreading evil? Check. Manipulation? Check! Causing chaos? Check. Her work was done here.
