| First topic message reminder :Howdy there and welcome to the Nuzlocke race! >:3 Since a bunch of us are all doing this I figured I'd create a handy dandy thread for us to keep each other updated on our progress. To make sure I know who's participating, post here with the starter you chose and which version you're playing! Anyone can join, not just the ones who have joined already and you can even join late in the game of you want to! RulesAll normal Nuzlocke rules apply, I.e: -You can only catch the first Pokemon you encounter in a given area. -Any Pokemon that faint are considered 'dead' and must be permaboxed or released. -All caught Pokemon must be nicknamed. Our extra rules for these runs include: -Duplicates clause - which allows you to pass by a first encounter and try again if you've already caught that species before. -Shiny clause - allows the player to catch any shinies they may encounter during their Nuzlocke. If you would like to add further rules to your run to make it more difficult make sure you note those rules in the same post as when you post stating your participation. So who has joined so far you might ask?? Well he's a handy dandy list of everyone that has confirmed their participation in this thread!! I'll also update it with the number of gym badges they have currently ^-^ Anyone on this list is expected to let us know when they beat any gyms and stuff like that. Basically update the rest of us on your progress, though you don't have to post here every time you catch a pokemon or anything. If you'd like to post any Nuzlocke notes you might make during your run here, that too is fine and will prevent loads of people spamming the free chat with their notes separately! Disclaimer: The thread says race but you don't have to speed through if you don't want to. Feel free to take all the time you want :3 Aka we're not really racing it's just a catchy thread name. Edit 8th June: Since a lot of us are getting the eevee that Bill gifts you in Goldenrod I thought it might be fun to try and get an entire set of eeveelutions between us! (Not counting Sylveon of course!) So this is to keep track of who has which for that purpose ^-^ Of course I won't force you to have an eeveelution you don't want to use though~

| Congrats on the second badge Gengar! I myself just beat Whitney, and since I had to do it twice because of my DS freezing i'm gonna post the note logs for both battles here just so y'all can see the comparison because honestly it amuses the hell out of me. My team was the same for both because I saved in front of the gym thank god. Team Stats:Tarragon the Weepinbell - Lvl 22 Ellychnia the Quilava - Lvl 23 Askeral the Flaaffy - Lvl 23 Fen the Quagsire - Lvl 22 Sion the Pidgeotto - Lvl 22 Oliver the Butterfree - Lvl 18 - Vs Whitney (Original):
Sent out Tarragon first, vs Clefairy. Vine whip dealt half damage, Clefairy's doubleslap hits 3 times.
Another Vine whip KOs Clefairy. Tarragon levels up and learns Acid
Switched to Ellychnia vs Miltank. Stomp does 1/4 damage to Elly. Fire Blast misses.
Another Stomp brings Elly down to half hp and she flinches.
Switched to Askeral, Stomp damages for a quarter of Askeral's hp but Miltank is paralysed by Static which is then cured by Miltank's Lum Berry. Askeral flinches.
Another Stomp move from Miltank hits Askeral down into the red and Thundershock only does minimal damage.
Switched to Tarragon, Miltank Stomps to orange health and Sleep Powder misses.
Healed Tarragon with Super Potion. Another Stomp from Miltank hits Tarragon back down to orange, but Sleep Powder hits this time and with no Lum berry, Miltank is asleep.
Two Acid attacks from Tarragon bring Miltank down to orange.
Healed Elly with a Super Potion and switched back to her just as Miltank woke, using Attract which had no effect on Elly.
Stomp does around quarter damage to Elly, but she retaliates with a Fire Blast which finally KOs Miltank and wins the match!!
- Vs Whitney ver 2.0:
Sent out Tarragon first vs Clefairy once again. This time used Sleep Powder first.
Vine whip deals half damage, Clefairy wakes the fuck up and it's doubleslap hits 3 times.
Another Vine whip KOs Clefairy. Tarragon levels up and learns Acid.
Switched to Ellychnia vs Miltank.
Stomp does 1/4 damage to Elly. Fire Blast hits and takes Miltank down to red.
Whitney used a Super Potion, Elly used Fire Blast again and KOed Miltank.
Got Plain badge and Attract TM!
Saved the fucking game so I wouldn't lose the data again!

| Hey howdy hi-ho I'm gonna jump in here on this Nuzlocke race with HG, and a Totodile. I'm literally just starting haven't gotten Totodile yet but that's the plan.
UPDATE 1:
A solid day of gameplay. All the way at Olivine's Lighthouse, four gym badges, with a team comprised of Ragna the Feraligatr, Zu the Golbat, Junpei the Skiploom, and Yasha the Eevee. I'm only slightly dead inside, but besides that, there have been no team deaths of note thus far.

Okay, serious though I am joining. And I will update and give a full explanation, my starter is Totodile playing on SoulSilver and just stopped after I beat Falk. I will update and make a post all about this. Just letting you all know. | |

| Aaand I have beaten Morty! Due to all the leveling I ended up doing today it was a breeze tbh, Morty only got one hit in the whole battle and I defeated all his team in one hit ^-^
I only used two team members for Morty, Ellychnia and Sorcha who are at Level 29, but Askeral is also level 29 and Tarragon, Fen and Sion are all level 28 if anyone was interested in my current levels. | |

| Well this is the great update till Badge number 1, here we gooooo - The Story so far up to the first Gym Badge:
-deleting my old save file, was like 11 minutes played anyways. Dumb little danny became tired really quickly after having a bad idea one night probably.
-waking the professor up at 1:40 am cause he is a casul who sleeps at night
-Danny and I am a boy, but I am not a good Danny, nor a bad Danny, I am THE Danny
-Pokemon be throwing themselves at me
-Chosing my first pokemon while being stalked on through the lab windows, the pokemon world is such a fun place
-My starter is a Totodile, named Totozila, Totozila the conquerer! (Well first he has to conquer beating a pokemon up, but afterwards) He will be the conquerer!
-Rivals be throwing themselves at me
-Marills be throwing themselves at Totozila (Okay I stop)
-mom giving tutorial even if you say yes, mom pls, mom i hav tu catch de pokemans
-I still wonder to this day, how you can be excited and only walk? And need shoes to run, what kind of mad world is this where we need special shoe technology to run! I fear for our future
-inheriting the smelly shoes of an old man, life goals
-inheriting the smelly… I mean fruit? Box of an old man, life goals
-Inheriting the egg of an old man, not life goals
-running back at the speed of sound, got places to go, gotta follow my RAAAAAAINBOW
-Totozila be beating grass types to a pulp, Water will take back the land! Oh wait that failed before
-Why is it me that will always get accused by the police, do I look like I would steal something that is only guarded by nerds, and totally holding something precious?! .... well if you put it like that
-“So you want to leave me forever… k! bai! Call me or so sometimes” Pokémon has the best parenting
-From what I can tell, Pokémon battles are a wild dance party from afar seen
-Waiting outside in the wildnis for It to be night, mom must be so proud, I went camping.. forever
-Catched a Hoothoot, named it CM Hoot, he is.. the best in the world
-and the first grinding session of the nuzlocke of many
-beating and crushing dreams of little kids
-Walking in a darkcave that is named darkcave, the Pokemon world sure is creative
-catched a Zubat and added it to my tame, it name shall be Zeville, the greatest highflyer of them all
-Arrived in Viola City
-CM Hoot dropped a pipebomb all over Bellsprout Tower
-The Grinding; The Return
-Totozila one hit KO’d the first gym trainer
-A little cooperation between all 3 of my team took down the 2nd easily
- The Gym Leader battle vs. Falkner (Log Form):
-First move begins, Falk’s pidgey versus CM Hoot
-CM Hoot managing to hyponotize the pidgey
-calling back CM Hoot to send in Totozila while Pidgey was asleep
-Totozila already taking Pidgey almost down with one aqua gun, as Pidgey still sleeps
-A second aqua gun and Pidgey holding on to a thread as it still was asleep
-A last scratch beating Falk’s pidgey
-Keeping Totozila in to battle Falk’s second pokemon
-One gust and Totozila still holding strong, biting at his pokemon
-Falk’s pokemon healing himself, and one more bite
-Another healing turn and another bite
-More healing and more biting, this time critical
-Heals once more, as Totozila beat him more
-The healing and biting continuing
-Suddenly the healing ends to be countered by biting
-Totozila looking slowly tired and weak and getting switched out, while Falk heals himself once more
-One more healing to complete recover
-Getting put to sleep
-while he sleeps CM Hoot cries out sinking it’s attack
-after more gusts and Zeville going in, after surviving one gust
-Zeville going down fighting as it tries to confuse Falk’s pokemon
-Totozila making one last fight against Falk and beating it in the end
- The Gym Leader battle vs. Falkner (RP Form):
Danny recalled Totozila. After a longer but not much harder battle against the second Gym trainer before Falkner. He looked at the 2nd Gym Trainer before he opened his mouth "Falkner is way better than us, you should better prepare a little more" He said and Danny just nodded. He thought his team around Totozila, Hoot and Zeville was pretty strong for this Gym. But he did follow the advise taking a little break and caring for the wounds that 2nd trainer inflicted on some of his Pokémon.
After a while when all Pokémon looked a bit more fit Danny nodded to all of them and put them all back into their respective Pokéballs. After he stuffed them in his backpack he got up and turned facing Falkner. Now walking up with the confidence with the challenger he wanted to be. The challenger that will win by the end of this upcoming battle. Falkner looked up at smiled a little sly "Well, seems like you are finally ready. Wondered how much longer that little pep-talk with your Pokémon would go on." Danny didn't like how he seemed to be looking down but respected him "Well, I just wanted to make sure you and I both get the fight we want. I don't think the oh-so-great gym leader Falkner wants to seem weak? Or maybe he is already weak?" Falkner just did the same response as Danny before pulling out his first Pokéball.
Danny knew this was the sign the battle was about to start. They both got into their positions in the gym arena. Danny responded by pulling out the Pokéball that contained CM Hoot in it. "I thought a bit about this, how about we make it interesting? Let's first see who is the better bird trainer then!" Danny threw the Pokéball in the air and in a flash of light releases his Hoothoot from it. CM Hoot coming out landing hard down on his feet, as he looked on to the other side and Falkner. Falkner in response made a little "tsh" noise and threw out his Pokéball releasing his Pidgey. The competitors were set and so the Gym Battle for Danny's first badge began.
Falkner tries his best from the start, as he commands his Pidgey to tackle the other bird-Pokémon. But Danny instead retorts with "Hoot! Don't do anything, you know what we want, and you are going to 'tell' them." Danny pronounced the tell in a way that made Falkner looking quite curious. As the Pidgey flew towards the Hoothoot the eyes of the Owl-Pokémon began glowing more red than usual. Suddenly the Pidgey's eyes began glowing red too before it fell out of the sky, and began making snoring noises being fast asleep. "What?! How did you do that?" Falkner was furious as his Pidgey couldn't get one attack off. Danny instead began thanking his Hoothoot before calling him back. "And now to the main show and the finish to this." He says before he threw out the Pokéball holding his starter Totozila. Being released the Totodile jumps excited seeing the sleeping Pidgey he already got it what he has to do but Danny still tells him "Totozila, use water gun till this Pidgey is fully asleep!" Not having to be told twice, the Totodile began attacking the sleeping Pidgey with two water guns before he seemed to be more than just asleep.
Gritting his teeth Falkner called back his Pidgey "Well, that was a fine show, but we are not done yet. As I also have a main show to present to you!" With that Falkner threw out the second Pokémon he had. The Pidgeotto got released before it cried out and began flying around "It's just stretching its wings, well what do you have?" Falkner said being a bit more confident again. "I put my trust in my current Pokémon, Totozila will show you how strong he is!" Falkner nodded in response and decided on the first attack "Oh well, Pidgeotto try to blow his Totodile from the field!" Making a powerful gust the Totodile got thrown a little as it stood back up. Still standing strong as Falkner smiled a little "Oh, looks like I need to be impressed" Danny in the meantime ordered his Totodile to try his best to rush the Pidgeotto. Going fast to it and jumping Totozila catched the Pidgeotto in the leg as it bit down hard. Using his bite the bird cried out managing to shake him off but still being left looking wounded.
"Now, let's make this interesting, Pidgeotto! take it a bit down and heal this wound" Pidgeotto nodded as it flew down to the ground and began looking more refershed. Danny in the meantime understanding "So your Pokémon can heal itself, interesting, Totozila let's not waste time keep biting!" Totozila nodding as it rushed the bird that was down and bit him once more. Falkner chuckled a little "Pidgeotto, you know what to do" Pidgeotto nods flying away for one second landing on the other side of the field. Then it seems to be healing itself again as Totozila began to look at it really menacing, feeling quite mocked by this. Danny felt the same "Oh come on, Totozila, keep using bite!" With that the Totodile rushed once more at it, trying to bite as hard as it can. Following that the Pidgeotto took off once more and landed on the side the Totodile just came from and healed again "How long do you want to play cat and mouse?" Falkner asked chuckling a little making it even more mocking. "As long as I have to, to beat you!" It followed a few more of bites and roosts. Danny looked quite impatient now, Falkner did try to attack him again but he knew he will heal anyways. "Alright, Totozila that's enough for now we have to change our strategy!" Danny feared for Totozila's health as it didn't look good. Maybe his other Pokémon CM Hoot may get some attacks in.
The Owl-Pokémon came out jumping from one leg to the other again as Falkner looked rather sly "So you did give up on the original strategy, let's see if your backup plan is more thought through" He says out as Danny said again "Hoot, your attacks aren't strong but you have one weapon use it" This time not even approaching the Pidgeotto the Hoothoot manages to hypnotize and put it to sleep like the Pidgey before. Falkner getting again upset as Danny began to smile now. "Alright, try to peck at it we need to see what works!" CM Hoot crying out as it pecked at the sleeping Pokémon, causing some but visible none damage. The battle continued for a few more rounds as CM Hoot tried to hypnotize the Pidgeotto once more as it broke out of it. But after a few useless attempts Danny calls it back and Falkner looked a bit at him "Well, what will it be now?" Danny clutched the third Pokéball with his Zubat, Zeville in it. As he called him out.
The Zubat came out rapidly flapping it's wings as it flew from left to right but staying in one place "A Zubat? Not many who bring that into the Gym." Falkner says a little calm, as he orders his Pidgeotto to use Gust against it. Zeville trying his best to avoid it but still getting hit in the end, making him look a bit in pain but he was still flying. Now high above the arena with the Pidgeotto avoiding the casual attacks it tried to throw "Zeville! confuse it!" With that the Zubat flew closer and more around using his Confuse Ray attack to in the end just confuse the Pidgeotto. The Pidgeotto not knowing where the Zubat went and even was, ended up hitting himself in some attacks. Falkner getting angry once more as he shouted out "Pidgeotto! Don't get outsmarted by such a small Pokémon! Try hitting it!" Pidgeotto snapped and one gust later, that let the sand of the gym arena fly up. Danny coughed a little and as he could see again Zeville was laying in the middle, not moving at all "No! Zeville!" Calling the beaten Pokémon back he clutched it once more "You may have been small, but you did your best, and not something insignificant out there" He said to it before looking back at Falkner.
Falkner crossed his arms now "Hm, so will we keep fighting?" Danny put Zeville's Pokéball away as he clutched his hand "Yes, we will!" Danny grabbed Totozila's pokéball once more having him healed during the fight Zeville gave and he thanked him once more in his head for giving them this time. Before Totozila came out looking even more furiated than before "Alright, we will settle this! Falkner! No more healing, either you fight or you are the most unrespecatble gym leader!" Falkner gritted at this exclamation as he nodded "Very well, but don't say I didn't warn you. I gave you the chance to throw the towel!" With that the fight began heated, Totozila taking one more gust as this time he got the bite really hard and in a vital place of Pidgeotto. The bird came crashing down and coughed as it seemed beaten and Falkner looked a bit surprised "What, was that?" And as Danny called Totozila back and made his way across the arena "I guess it was Totozila's fighting spirit" Falkner nodded a little as he smiled once more "Well, I guess I have to thank you. Not many trainers keep so calm and fighting on, if I keep using that healing strategy with my Pidgeotto" Danny nodded "So it was like a test?" And Falkner responded "Sort of yes, I mean every Trainer has to keep their head calm during battle. With that said you earned this passing that test." As Falkner handed Danny his first badge. Taking it Danny put it before he nodded "Well, I have to say goodbye now to you. I hope the following trainers will give you some sort of challenge too."
Leaving Falkner's Gym Danny looked on his map while healing his Pokémon from the hard fight in the Pokémon Center. He determined which city was next on his journey. Making a little smile, knowing he earned the respect of one of the Gym Leaders of Johto. He will surely earn the respect of all of them in the end.

| I started a run of my own yesterday, because why not! I'm playing Heart Gold, picked, Chikorita, and I have two badges so far. No deaths as of yet, thankfully.
Are we allowed to purchase Pokemon from the game corner? I'm currently addicted to voltorb flip and I need something to spend my coins on. | |

| Okay so I beat Chuck earlier and got my fifth badge but I mainly wanna mention how i'm doing pokeathlon right now to get enough points for a Leaf Stone for my weepinbell and the Disc Catch challenge is hilarious like I have 66 points and then the others have 7, 3 and 3 points xD Also to answer your question @Eventine, you can totally buy a pokemon from the Game Corner but it will count as your pokemon from Goldenrod City which means you can't receive the gift Eevee from Bill later if that also interests you ^-^ | |

| My future plans?
I'm hoping to do a bit of backtracking once I've had the Headbutt tutor in Ilex Forest teach the move to my Quilava or Geodude. I haven't encountered a single Pokémon on Route 31 yet so my plan is to go back there, headbutt a tree, and hope to encounter an Exeggcute. Secondary Hypnosis user and it can learn both Leech Seed and Reflect early, the first two being moves that Oddish and Bellsprout lack.
Not overly in need of the Pokémon at the Goldenrod Game Corner, I'll just pick up the Eevee and evolve it into Jolteon. That puts a Thunderbolt TM on my wish list so I'm gonna be trying to rack up coins anyway. | |

| I went ahead and bought a Dratini from the game corner. Dragon Rage seems to be really good this early in the game.
I also caught a shiny Metapod while grinding in the National Park! I'm probably not going to use it, since I already have a Butterfree and I'm too lazy to train another one from scratch, but still!
After that, I challenged the third gym. Dratini had a close call, but aside from that it went well. I'm currently getting ready to face Morty.
Here's my team, for anyone curious:
Briar the Bayleef - Lv. 21
Marshal the Togetic - Lv. 20
Maru the Sandshrew - Lv. 19
Halloween the Butterfree - Lv. 20
Barry the Flaaffy - Lv. 20
Katie the Dratini - Lv. 20
Vivi the Nidoran (HM lackey) - Lv. 15
Still no deaths so far. I hope it stays that way, because I really like all of them...
