Autumn Thicket

(16-11=5) Jude was having a bad day. Out of all the pokemon in the world, he HAD to meet a Gardevoir. He "politely" pointed out that he hated them because they were a Gardevoir, and they got really angry! He had no idea why, though. He trudged through the Copse, his face, a frown. Normally when he passed through, he would stop and marvel at the sheer autumnal beauty. Now he didn't even look at the crisp leaves that he normally occupied himself with. Oh well. He let out a sigh, louder than expected, and looked for something, ANYTHING, to cheer him up.

The ghost laughed at how the other ghost got ensnared by the Metapod. "It seems you can not go anywhere. This will be a lot of fun." Pokkoji was confused by all this. What was that ghost doing there. "Hey, leave us alone. We didn't do anything. Or do you want to fight, huh?" The metapod didn't think about this. He was not able to beat the ghost like he was.

Rustling could be heard behind them. Pokkoji turned around to see another ghost appearing. "Oh, you are trying to be brave? That is rather cute? Don't think we will lose to the likes of you. Now...who should we fight first? The Metapod seems rather fun to mess with, don't you think?" The second ghost snickered when he said that.

"Oh, you are right. The bug really seems interesting. I'm sure I'm going to enjoy this." The first ghost stared at Pokkoji. They didn't seem like they were planning anything good. Pokkoji prepared himself for the fight, completely forgetting about the ghost who had tried to scare him.

Jude wiggled around frantically as the other ghost was addressing him like he was prey. It was really freaking him out. He was barely even paying attention to what they were saying. He suddenly focused on the Metapod as they stood up for him. OH GOSH. Another ghost just appeared. The Metapod couldn't fight two off at once. Jude decided to pay more attention to what the ghosts were saying. They were going to attack the Metapod first. That gave him a little bit of time. To do what? He was stuck. Oh well. He feared for his and the Metapod's wellbeing.

The two ghosts laughed. This was going to be fun. They floated around the metapod in circles. Now, when to strike...

The first ghost made a move and slammed its body against the Metapod. Pokkoji, who was looking at the other ghost, got hit rather hard by it. That was the sign for the other to attack as well.

The two ghosts were pretty much beating up the Metapod. Pokkoji tried tying them up with string shot but the ghosts kept dodging his attack. There was nothing else the Metapod could do.

He was feeling so weak and useless. This was no different than when he was a Caterpie. He was always considered weak and pathetic. He was tired of it. He wanted to be strong and join a guild. He wanted to prove he was not weak. "Enough!" He cried out. His body started glowing. The two ghosts were surprised and floated back. Pokkoji's form changed. Then he stopped glowing again. Where there once was a Metapod there was now a Butterfree. Now Pokkoji would be able to fight back.

Jude tried to make himself seem as small as possible. Then the ghosts started attacking. Jude had seen pokemon fighting, and normal feral pokemon, but this kind of organized attacking was really just too much. They relentlessly slammed into his new acquaintance, beating them up. They were too fast! Jude was silent, thinking of some way to provide support. He thought about maybe Screeching to disrupt the ghosts, but that would probably make them beat Jude up, or attract MORE mean pokemon. Jude shut his eyes and waited for it to be over.

Jude had never felt this kind of hopelessness before. It, was a new, terrible experience. However, he admired the Metapod for taking a stand and attempting to fight back. Then he hear the metapod yell. He could feel a glowing light through his closed eyes. He opened his eyes, and the metapod was no more. In its place was a Butterfree. A glimmer of hope lit up in Jude's eyes. Wow! Jude had never seen evolution this close before. He did know that it made you a great deal stronger. "YEAH! GET EM!", Jude yelled, all life restored to his eyes and voice. His words were a little muffled by the String Shot, but nonetheless, Jude continued to shout encouragement.

The ghosts stared at the Butterfree in front of them. "Evolving isn't going to help you, bug." One of them said with a grin. The other grinned too. "We are having so much fun, messing with you. Now it is only going to get more fun." The ghosts started floating around the newly evolved Butterfree. It would still stand no chance against the two of them, or so they thought.

Pokkoji looked around him. What had just happened? His body had been glowing and he had felt this weird, yet familiar feeling. He stared at the ghosts. Did one say he had evolved? That was great news. That would mean he finally stood a chance. Pokkoji started flapping his wings and lifted off the ground. He was not planning to lose to them. Pokkoji concentrated. He knew he would be able to use a new move. Psychic power surrounded him. He was focusing the power on one of the ghosts.

"H-Hey, what is happening?" The psychic powers rendered the ghost unable to move. The other ghost floated to his companion. "...Maybe we should go. Picking on him was not such a good idea after all." When they said that, they turned their attention to Pokkoji. One of them released a weird ray towards the Butterfree. The bug lost control on the one he had rendered helpless with confusion and the two ghosts fled. Pokkoji didn't go after them. He seemed rather disorientated for some reason.

Jude was very annoyed. He HATED it when pokemon didn't acknowledge his prescence. However the only thing that conveyed his current state was a slight frown. He stared up, watching the ghosts and seeing how they reacted to the evolution. 'Hm...I wonder what's going to happen-', Jude thought, until he was interrupted by a rather distracting purple glow. The Metapod, er... Butterfree was using some kind of psychic power. He could tell by the invisible waves of energy that came off of his defender. Well...it seemed like he was more defending himself, but beggars can't be choosers. Jude gasped in awe as a ghost was rendered immobile. He let out a whoop when the ghosts started looking nervous, but then yelled invectives after them after they fled. "WOAH! THAT WAS SO AWESOME!", the small ghost yelled, oblivious to the Butterfree's current affliction.

Pokkoji had not really noticed the two ghosts leave. He felt dizzy. What happened to him just now? The Butterfree couldn't think straight. The bug grabbed his head and landed on the ground. He didn't know one of the ghosts had managed to confuse him and they used that to escape. He could hear a voice behind him, but he could not make out what it said.

Pokkoji turned around. There was one of the ghosts there, wrapped into a web. Strange, he couldn't recall hitting any of them with his strong shot. That didn't really matter now. He was going to defeat this ghost and show he isn't that weak. Pokkoji tried to lift the ghost with confusion to throw it at the tree. The webbing became lose from that. The Butterfree didn't realize that he was attacking the ghost that tried to scare him before.
