Pilot gazed ahead at the sickeningly sweet forest of Pecha. It was a common location for rookies to train, which is exactly why he chose to go there several days prior... However, that trip hadn't ended very well. The tiny Taillow shuddered when he recalled being exploded on by a Pineco, and then subsequently getting poisoned by an Exeggcute... Indeed, he had been defeated by two tiny forest critters, and now he was back for vengeance. To say that he was bitter about his failure in the forest would be an understatement. Since his terrible Pecha Forest expedition, the small bird Pokemon had become much stronger, and now he was going to prove himself by finally getting through the "easy" dungeon.

While he was confident that he could conquer the rookie's dungeon alone, Pilot couldn't help but feel a bit lonely. Maybe it was because he had grown accustomed to always having a partner with him during his explorations... Not that he missed Hidon specifically. Well, it shouldn't be too hard to find someone else in here, Pilot thought to himself, remembering how quickly he had found a temporary partner the last time he had been in the dungeon. "Hey, anyone here?" He chirped, trying to attract the attention of any other rookie explorers in the forest. Of course, he was also attracting feral Pokemon in the process...

Cana sniffed up the air around her. The sweet smell of pecha berries was pretty strong. It has been a while since she last saw them. When did she see them last? It was when she went to the forest. The one she had burned down. Memories came up, memories of the forest set ablaze. Memories of pokemon burning in front of her eyes. Cana shuddered and tried to shake away her memories. No, she was going to not let the same thing happen again.

Cana moved further into the forest. It did seem peaceful here but she wasn't going to delude herself. There were some vicious pokemon here after all. Although they were weak and most bug and grass types wouldn't mess with a fire pokemon.

Cana stopped. Did she hear that right? It seemed like someone was calling. She hesitated. Whoever it was, he could be dangerous. She slowly moved towards the place she thought she heard the voice come from.

Pilot stopped, listening intently for any signs of rookie explorers. At first, nothing appeared to be different. Pecha Forest was still dead silent, just as it had been before the bird shouted. But then, he began to hear the noise of paws pattering against the earthy soil, crunching a few leaves as it got closer. The noise was coming from directly behind him. However, when he turned around, the noise subsided. Whoever had just been approaching him was hesitating, or didn't want to be seen. A scary idea entered the avian Pokemon's head. Maybe it wasn't a rookie explorer at all; but rather, a feral sneaking up on him...

Once the idea entered his head, Pilot became confident that the source of the noise was a wild Pokemon. It couldn't be that likely to find another explorer in the same dungeon, could it? Not wanting to leave himself exposed on the forest floor, the Taillow fluttered his wings, and almost silently positioned himself on top of a tree branch. Whatever's coming after me isn't gonna have a shot, Pilot thought to himself, smirking. He looked down at the ground, getting ready to swoop down on whoever was "after him".

The young pokemon carefully walked to were she thought she heard someone. She was listening very carefully. Her ears suddenly picked something up. Huh? This sound....What is it? As Cana tried to listen more closely the sound stopped. Did I imagine it? Cana, now more cautious then before, slowly moved closer.

The young Fennekin was pretty on edge. She didn't like the idea of getting in a fight in a forest. She still didn't know if that pokemon she heard is dangerous or not. She wasn't even sure if there was a pokemon yelling for someone to begin with.

Cana slowly arrived at where the Taillow was just a moment ago. She noticed a few feathers laying on the ground. She moved to them and examined them. Was the owner of that voice the owner of these feather? She glanced up, trying to see if the bird was still there.

Suddenly, a small figure emerged into the clearing! Without even thinking, Pilot dove towards the ground, letting out a shrill battle screech. His plan was simple: deck the feral while they were disoriented! However, the perceptive bird quickly noticed that the Pokemon below him wasn't a feral at all! It was a Fennekin, who obviously was not native to the forest. Acting quickly, Pilot managed to divert his path just before coming into contact with Cana, coming dangerously close to smacking right into her. In fact, he was pretty sure that he felt the vixen's fur brush against his wings. He slid into the ground, skidding to a slow stop. When the bird Pokemon finally stopped moving, he laughed. "Whew, that was close~!" He chirped, turning around to face the fox-like Pokemon.

Realizing that the Fennekin probably deserved an explanation, Pilot opened his beak to talk. "I thought you were a feral," The bird explained, dusting himself off with his wings. "Sorry about that... Name's Pilot, member of Team Rising," He continued, trying his best to look tough. He puffed his chest out, trying to appear larger than he actually was. The effort was probably fruitless, however, as even the Fennekin dwarfed him in size... And yet, the Fennekin was still one of the smallest Pokemon he had ever met since relocating to Grassveil. Still, Pilot was glad that he wasn't with another Pokemon that was literally twice his size.

Cana got startled when a taillow suddenly flew towards her, trying to attack her. She noticed him too late though, but right when she thought he was going to attack her, he changed his course. His wings brushed her side as he flew past her and landed a bit further. From the shock, her natural feature got activated though and she was radiating heat from her ears.67

She did calm down a bit when he introduced himself though. She managed to stop herself from radiating heat and looked at him, not really sure if she could trust him. She had to swallow a laugh when he puffed his chest like that. The taillow sure seemed to want to seem bigger then he was. Seeing as he introduced himself it was only better to introduce herself too. "My name is Cana. I'm just traveling."

Lillian approached Pecha Forest, ears pricked for any noises or signs of trouble. Slipping into the throng of trees, Lillian began traversing the area.

Without warning, she heard the piercing screech of an avian Pokemon. Lillian was slightly alarmed as to what it could be, but was also eager for the possibility of battling a wild Pokemon to hone her skills. Lillian approached the source of the noise. She treaded lightly, careful not to alert the creature of her presence. Really, she was quite proud of her ability to stay quiet.

Lillian made sure she was hidden behind the forest's foliage - she wasn't sure what to expect. As she got closer, she heard the faint sound of conversation. Edging closer to get a better look, she realised that the Pokemon that she had heard were just explorers; a bird she recognised to be a Tailow, and a Fennekin, just like her. Lillian couldn't help but be startled; she wouldn't have expected to meet another Fennekin anytime soon, much less in her first time entering a dungeon. In her surprise, her tail twitched, which resulted in a loud rustling noise as she brushed against the leaves of a bush. Lillian winced. So much for staying quiet, she thought.

Cana was a bit surprised by this. He wanted to team up with her? It wasn't really that weird though as she was a fire type but still.... She didn't expect it. She sat down and thought a bit but before she could answer, she could hear a rustling noise.

Cana perked her ears and stood up as she heard it. She glanced to where the sound came from. It seemed to be coming from some bushes. She wasn't imagining it. Pilot noticed it too. "I believe you are right," Cana whispered back. She didn't really trust him yet but now didn't seem like the best time to worry about that. "We don't know what though, we should be careful."

Ironically, before Cana could even finish her sentence, Pilot let out yet another battle cry, spread his wings, and took off! He darted directly into the bush, still screeching like a banshee. The Taillow completely perforated the shrubs, and tackled the assailant to the ground! When he opened his eyes, Pilot was completely confused. He had just smashed into... Cana? A small, yellow vulpine was sitting underneath him. The bird got off the Fennekin, and dusted himself off. "What the..?" His jaw went agape, and he tried to wrap his head around what had just happened. How..? Wh-what? What just happened? Pilot asked himself with a perplexed look on his face. "Cana..?" He asked hesitantly, still in shock.

Lillian was rather surprised (and certainly not amused) at being knocked to the ground by this strange Tailow. Who knew he would attempt to attack her? "Calm down," The Fennekin said, vaguely irritably. Now, at least, she knew where that screeching sound from before had come from.

Now that he had gotten a better look at her, though, the Tailow seemed more confused than aggressive. Lillian concluded that there wouldn't be a need to retaliate. He didn't seem as if he had intended to attack her, after all - he probably mistook her for a wild Pokemon, just as she had mistaken him for one upon hearing his battle cry. But the Tailow had just mentioned 'Cana'. Did he think she was 'Cana'? Lillian supposed that 'Cana' must be the name of the Fennekin the Tailow was talking to earlier.

Lillian got to her paws and dusted herself off. "My name is Lillian, not Cana." She said to the bird Pokemon dryly. "I'm not a wild Pokemon. Are you training in this forest too?"

Cana was surprised as the Taillow suddenly darted right into the bushes. She could hear he had hit something. To her surprise she also heard Pilot his confusion and a second voice.

The young Fenniken hesitated and moved towards the bushes. When she saw the other Fenniken, she understood Pilot his confusion. There was another female Fenniken there, who stated her name was Lillian. Cana certainly didn't expect to see another Fenniken here of all places.

Cana carefully moved closer. This Fenniken...She seems more confident. Would Pilot now consider teaming up with her instead of with me? She probably is a lot better then me and not afraid for.... Cana didn't want to remember the forest fire she caused. She has been feeling so guilty since it happened. She also felt a bit sad about the idea of Pilot teaming up with Lillian instead of her. This would have been an opportunity to make a new friend but on the other hand, Pilot probably just was going to use her anyway.

Katsumi was in the middle of nowhere, feeling very down and maybe just a little nervous. Okay fine, she was scared. Katsumi hated being alone and that’s what was happening right now. Katsumi felt herself start to shiver and her violet eyes were more open than usual, observing the barren area in great detail. Katsumi started feeling increasingly sick and her whole body felt awful…

Suddenly Katsumi saw a forest. Her body suddenly started feeling light and relief flooded over her as she bolted towards forest, away from the barren area she was currently in. It’s a forest! A forest! FINALLY! Where there are forests there’s life and where there’s life there’s company! With that Katsumi did not hesitate as she noisily plunged into the forest.

Raze had been walking for quite a while. Meh, at least I know a part of this place. Maybe I can find a few ferals around here... he thought. He hadn't found a single item nor Pokémon around here, and the silence was deafening after a while. In an effort to make this situation less awkward, the Minun began to hum a tune. Unfortunately, this was short lived as a screech rang out through the forest.

"Sounds like a fight. Perfect!" he said to himself, sprinting off to where the sound had come from. There was probably a Flying type in the area, so he had the type advantage against whatever shrieked. Hehe, this is gonna be fun! he thought, smiling. He charged himself up a little, wondering if he was close.

[Energy: 14 - 8 (Aipom) - 1 (Blast Seed) - 1 (Pecha Berry) = 4]

"Heehee, sorry," Pilot apologized, quite embarrassed by his slipup. For the second time, he had mistaken someone for a feral, and then attempted to attack them. Still, that was pretty awesome, He thought to himself, grinning. Finally recognizing that the Fennekin he had tackled wasn't Cana, he nodded in understanding. "Nice to meet you, Lillian! Name's Pilot~!" The Taillow chirped in a songlike tone. "Yep, I'm here to train... I've got a huge mission coming up, so I'm gathering supplies," He bragged, taking pride in the fact that he was an explorer. Judging by Lillian's lack of an exploration bag or bow, she didn't belong to the guild. Nor did Cana. So, in a way, Pilot was the most experienced one there!

Before Lillian could retort, Pilot's short attention span took over. A few meters away, he spotted two items, a Blast Seed and a Pecha Berry. The Taillow excitedly hopped over to the location, and scooped both of the items up with his wings. "Sweet," He murmured, putting them in his bag. Those will be useful for that mission, He thought to himself, grinning. As long as Hidon can keep up, we should be fine! It couldn't hurt to look for more, though...
