Pilot gazed ahead at the sickeningly sweet forest of Pecha. It was a common location for rookies to train, which is exactly why he chose to go there several days prior... However, that trip hadn't ended very well. The tiny Taillow shuddered when he recalled being exploded on by a Pineco, and then subsequently getting poisoned by an Exeggcute... Indeed, he had been defeated by two tiny forest critters, and now he was back for vengeance. To say that he was bitter about his failure in the forest would be an understatement. Since his terrible Pecha Forest expedition, the small bird Pokemon had become much stronger, and now he was going to prove himself by finally getting through the "easy" dungeon.
While he was confident that he could conquer the rookie's dungeon alone, Pilot couldn't help but feel a bit lonely. Maybe it was because he had grown accustomed to always having a partner with him during his explorations... Not that he missed Hidon specifically. Well, it shouldn't be too hard to find someone else in here, Pilot thought to himself, remembering how quickly he had found a temporary partner the last time he had been in the dungeon. "Hey, anyone here?" He chirped, trying to attract the attention of any other rookie explorers in the forest. Of course, he was also attracting feral Pokemon in the process...

| Pilot huffed, still battling the effects of his status condition. "I-I've been better... But we have bigger problems right now..." He rasped, pointing his beak at the Weepinbell, who was slowly making its way towards Cana. Charging as fast as his semi-paralyzed body would allow, Pilot tackled the grass Pokemon to the ground, apparently having not learned his lesson from before. Almost immediately upon contact, the Weepinbell released yet another cloud of yellow spores, causing Pilot's muscles to lock up again. After, he was doused by an Acid attack, which stung as soon as it landed on him.
Agh, am I seriously getting beaten by a grass type Pokemon right now? The bird thought, disappointed with himself. Come on... Get up! Get up, you dolt! He seethed. Then, in a display of pure willpower, Pilot managed to get up and hit the plant with the strongest Wing Attack he could muster. It sent the Weepinbell backwards several meters, causing it to fall over. It didn't get back up.
"Hah... Suck on that, you giant salad," Pilot rasped, sticking his tongue out at the downed foe. He turned to Cana, forcing a confident grin. "There. Problem solved," He beamed, panting heavily.

Taking his attention off of the Murkrow once it managed to limp away, Raze shook his head in disappointment. How could he just recklessly use Discharge around his allies? "Great, knew I'd do more harm than good with that..." he grumbled to himself, unaware if they could actually hear him. The mouse let out a sigh of anger and shook his head, still upset about the repercussions of his actions. Unbeknownst to him, however, the ferals that were visible weren't the only ones who had been struck with the Discharge. Behind a few bushes, a Hoothoot gazed on with a death glare at Raze.
"...What the-" the Electric type started as he looked up, only to be floored by a powerful blow to the shoulder. The Minun scrambled to regain his footing and made a run for it, avoiding attack after attack. "G-Guys, a little bit of a deja vu moment!" he called over, leaping over the exhausted Pilot and avoiding another Tackle. Just when he thought he had enough distance to fight... Raze slammed straight into an edgy entity. He backed up, revealing a Pineco that looked like it was about to collapse from fear. Wait, what? I'm not- ...Oh, right. Birds eat bugs. Guess I'm holding my ground, eh? he noted, turning to push against the Hoothoot in a contest of strength. "For real, NOW I need you guys to help me out here. This is getting really tiring, so I would really appreciate it if one of you helped me out here."

| Cana hadn't noticed the Weepinbell coming at her. If it wasn't for Pilot, it surely would have gotten her. The Fennekin watched as Pilot took down the feral. She wasn't dazed anymore and the static seemed to have left her body for the most part now. Her hearing was also back to normal. She had to admit Pilot saved her there. "Thank you." She smiled at the bird.
Then Raze called out. He said something about needing help? The Fennekin looked to where Raze was and noticed his struggle with a Hoothoot. "I-I'm coming." The Fennekin jumped up and ran towards the Hoothoot. As it didn't notice her she used the opportunity to scratch it. The hoothoot cried and turned around. It was pretty angry now and was focusing it's attacks on Cana now. The Fennekin was barely able to dodge them. It wouldn't take long before she would get hit.

| Pilot was admittedly pretty gassed when Raze had called for help. While he would normally push through his exhaustion, he also felt pretty disgusting with remnants of the Weepinbell’s Acid attack still coating his precious plumage. Ugh, I think I’m gonna sit this one out… The bird thought to himself, fluttering up to a tree branch. He began preening himself, attempting to get the gunk out of his feathers, but had little success. I guess I’ll have to take a bath later… He mused, thinking about the Small Pond.
While the Taillow simply spectated from a distance, his travel companions were on the ground, duking it out with the ferals. Did he feel bad for not contributing? No, not at all. In his eyes, he had already done plenty, and he deserved a break. Of course, if they started to have trouble with the foes, he would be more than happy to swoop down and finish them off…

The Minun was a bit surprised when Pilot ended up flying up and out of the battle, but he would deal with that later. Noticing that Cana had diverted the attention of the Hoothoot, he took this opportunity to reassure the Pineco. "It's cool, Pineco! We've got your back, this bird's really gonna wish it picked on a different group to mess with!" Though it clearly missed the point, the Bug type looked happy from his tone. Raze returned the gesture and faced back towards Cana and the feral. Firing off a Helping Hand towards his ally, he charged forward to intercept the bird with a weak yet effective strike.
The Hoothoot saw his attack coming and dodged with an admirable speed. In fact, EVERY time the Electric type tried to hit the Flying type, it just fluttered just above his reach, almost as if it was taunting him! Raze let out an audible sigh of anger, still jumping to reach the bird to no avail. Maybe someone with a ranged attack or the ability to catch it would prove to be more successful...

| Cana didn't know what to do. The Hoothoot was too fast. She could not land any hit and it managed to land a Peck on her. The Fennekin staggered back. Then she felt a familiar power through her body. Is this Helping Hand? Cana wondered. It was only then that she had noticed the Pineco. At least it didn't try to attack them. The hoothoot might have tried to eat it, or maybe it was angry because it was sleeping? It was hard to tell.
Raze had managed to divert the attention of the Hoothoot. She could tell that he wasn't able to hit it as it was flying out of reach. I don't have to worry about burning the forest if I try to attack it, right? I mean, my attacks will be fired in the air. The Fennekin was hesitating. The forest fire had shaken her up pretty badly. She almost backed out of it.....Almost. "I-I'm sorry..." Cana said as she closed her eyes and fired an Ember at the Hoothoot. Having the power of Helping Hand make her attack stronger, it was sure to deal some bad damage if it hit.

| The young Taillow continued to preen himself, completely oblivious of his travel companions' struggles on the ground. From an early age, he had been taught that maintenance of his feather coat was of the utmost importance. Not only did it keep his dark blue plumage looking good, but it also helped waterproof it, and, perhaps most importantly, helped keep it smooth, making it much easier to fly... Once the bird felt satisfied, he looked up and watched his teammates from above.
Pilot couldn't help but chuckle as he noticed Raze getting taunted by the Hoothoot, who was always just out of his reach. As fun as this is to watch, I guess I should help him out... He thought to himself, grinning. Swooping down from his tree branch, the Taillow dove right into his fellow flying type. Upon impact, he felt a strange burning sensation... He had been hit with an Ember attack! Screeching, the bird landed, frantically patting the fire off of him. "Did I put it out!? Oh, thank Arceus, I think it's out..."
Then, he turned to Cana, a scowl on his beak. "I JUST cleaned my feathers!" He shouted, looking quite annoyed at the fox Pokemon.

Watching Pilot swoop in and knock the bird right out of the sky was fun, yes, but the part that sent the Cheering Pokémon into a laughing fit was when Cana's Ember had struck Pilot. As insensitive to Cana's reluctant usage of fire and Pilot's pride as it was, Raze just couldn't help but crack up about it. "Hehe, looks like someone flared up a bit there!" he stated in between his snickering. Pilot seemed alright otherwise, so the Minun didn't worry about how they would react to his attempt to lighten the mood and divert Pilot's anger towards himself. Eh, better for him to scold me for that than her. Besides, I bet he'd take it anyways; I mean, he knows it's a joke, right? No way he could hold that against me!
Bringing his attention back to the fallen Hoothoot, he noticed that the blow had struck a bit harder than intended. The avian struggled to stay balanced on one foot like it always had, clearly not willing to try a tactic like that again. Wasting no time, Raze ran forward and gripped the feral by the waist area. Then, he lifted the bird up and slammed it onto the ground in one slow yet powerful motion. "Sorry to leave you hanging, bird, but that wasn't very nice of you to taunt me like that. Mind staying down? I don't want to fight you anymore." he stated with a smile, walking off. The peculiar act of mercy was his trademark, dealing the last blow and then sparing his opponent. The Electric type saw it as a way to go as far as he needed to and end it before it seemed like he was stalling. Turning back to his allies, he crossed his arms and took up a casual, carefree stance. "You guys alright?"

| As Cana opened her eyes, she saw that, instead of the Hoothoot, she hit the tail of the Taillow. She didn't really expect this. Pilot's tail was on fire and he quickly tried to put it out. The Fennekin was feeling pretty bad about hitting Pilot. Of course, his shouting only made it worse. The Fennekin bowed her head and could feel tears pricking in her eyes. "I-I'm sorry....I didn't mean to." Her voice was quiet and trembling. She tried her best to not start crying.
The Fennekin looked at Raze as he started talking. She did not really see what was funny about it. She only ended up hurting others with her fire attacks. After the Minun finished off the Hoothoot, he asked them if they were alright. Cana certainly was not alright. She was feeling very bad and guilty at that moment. She didn't look at Pilot or Raze when she answered. "I'm fine..." She couldn't even try to sound cheerful. She just kept messing up after all.

| What, is this some kind of joke to him!? I could've gotten seriously hurt right there! The Taillow thought, thankful that he hadn't sustained very much damage from the attack. Pilot was being a bit dramatic about the situation, sure, but considering the Minun had called him out for being insensitive a short while ago, it seemed pretty hypocritical to him. "Sh-shut up, Thunder Thighs... Just a few minutes ago, you made yourself out to be some kinda saint, and now you're laughing at me!" He piped, fuming in rage. He was beginning to regret inviting Raze to the team...
His angry expression changed when he noticed Cana, who was tearing up. I guess I was a little harsh on her... Ugh, should I apologize? Pilot contemplated, letting out a pained sigh. "Sorry" was not a word he used often; to him, apologizing was like admitting defeat. But he was clearly in the wrong this time. Looking at the ground, the bird spoke. "I, uh, I probably shouldn't have yelled at you. I'm sorry..." He murmured, shifting awkwardly.

...Wow. It was just a little joke, are these guys really that serious about it? Raze wondered. Cana seemed a bit solemn for the action while Pilot was outright livid with anger. "Hey, it's no big deal. Pilot's not on fire right now... That's good, right?" he stated with a small smile to the Fennekin? He knew that the attempt to cheer her up sucked, but it was the best he could think of at the moment. What was he going to say: "At least he's not a fried bird"? ...Could have said something worse and way more stupid. Maybe that wasn't so bad, now that I think about it. It wasn't necessarily her fault that the bird was struck with an Ember. Had Pilot not tackled it in the first place, the Hoothoot would have taken the attack and everything would have been fine.
The name that the Taillow called him stopped him in his tracks and caused him to crack up again. "What kind of name is Thunder Thighs?! You're really scraping the bottom of the barrel there, Pilot!" he managed to vocalize in between laughs. Though it was an odd nickname, it could really apply to any Electric type with the suitable anatomy. Raze lazily stretched his arm and yawned; the exploration had taken more out of him than he expected. "Not sure about you guys, but I'm exhausted."

| Cana looked at Pilot as he apologized to her. She could see why he was angry. She did burn his tail after all. "It's fine...I should have paid more attention..." Cana glanced at Raze. "You are right. At least he is ok." The Fennekin was feeling slightly better now. She could tell they tried to cheer her up a bit.
Then the Fennekin looked at the Minun again. "That fire really took a lot out of me. I don't think I can feel my paws anymore." She answered honestly. She had been ttying really hard to put out the fire so of course she would be tired.

Pilot grinned, a bit amused by the nickname himself. In his rage, he hadn't even realized that he had called Raze anything! Heh, that was a nice one, too, The bird told himself, quite satisfied with his ability to come up with those types of things on the fly. "I like that one," He told the electric mouse in between chuckles. "Maybe I'll keep calling you that. Heehee, Thunder Thighs..."
The Taillow was a bit relieved to hear that his travel companions were also tired. Personally, he had taken quite a beating. The wound in his chest from that Nidorino was still healing, and he could still feel the effects of poison and paralysis lingering in his system. All he wanted to do was to head back to his quaint little treehouse in the forest and collapse onto his bed. "Yeah, me too," He replied to the Minun. "Maybe we should head back."

Heading back seemed like a reasonable plan. All of them seemed exhausted, they all appeared to be going to the same place, so Raze wouldn't mind returning to Grassveil with them. "Sounds good to me. Heck, maybe I might have to take a day off tomorrow because of all of this!" he stated with a shrug. It was, of course, a joke; the Electric type would still return to exploring the next day. Heh... Maybe a little break wouldn't hurt though. I mean... Nah, who am I kidding?! I'll be ready to go by tomorrow morning! Pilot's little nickname went in one ear and out the other this time. There was really no point in arguing about it anyways.
"I actually wouldn't mind exploring with you guys again. Sure, we lost those other two, but they're fine, right?" Raze said, trying to start a conversation while he walked to the exit. "It's not like I've got plans anyways. Just give me a shout whenever you want to do something, okay?" With this, he gave them a lighthearted smile and a nod. "...Anyways, this is it. See you guys around!" After shouting this with a grin, he ran off... Stumbling at one point but then breaking into a sprint later.

| Heading back did seem like a good idea. If only the Fennekin had the energy to do so. Cana looked at her paws. They were covered in dirt and a bit of blood. She practically opened up her paws as she had tried to dig in the earth to throw dirt on the flames. Standing on them hurt. The Fennekin just wanted to lay down and rest but she knew that it was not a good idea to do that here.
Cana looked at the Minun. "I wouldn't mind exploring with you guys either." Cana replied. "I will do that if I see you again. Bye Raze." The Fennekin watched as the Minun left. She actually should leave too.
Even though her paws protested, the Fennekin got up and turned towards the Taillow. "I'm also going to go back now. Take care, Pilot." With these words, Cana turned around and started walking back towards Grassveil. It was painful for her and she was limping a bit but she tried to not pay any attention to it for now. She would be able to rest once she was out of the forest.
