The Fire That Burns From Within...And On His Tail

"Just head down the hall and go through the first door to the right, I'll be with you in a moment," Morpheus spoke to the next client, a Charmeleon, as he placed a box of belongings in a different room. He left the client to find the room himself, having been busied with deliveries of various objects and tools for refurbishing the cabin. He hefted the boxes onto a counter, struggling with the weight of them and taking a deep breath as he finished. He turned and entered the room he had directed the client to, talking as he entered.

"Okay, so, I'm going to have to hypnotize you into a slumber, so don't be afraid if you suddenly fall asleep. Things might be a bit weird at first, but I'll be with you shortly inside the dream. When you start out you're going to be significantly weaker than you are now, and you might find that you have moves you had a long time ago and lose your newer ones. When you get hurt in the dream tower, it will not transfer into the real world, but it'll still feel rather painful. Any questions and or concerns?" he smiled.

Jak
Jak took this information as something interesting to know but not exactly needed, the appearance bit that is. Jak wondered what kind of experiments Morpheus had tried on the tower. Especially after Morpheus stated that it got strange when you experiment with the tower.

Morpheus then began stating that they should probably get moving, the tower might not like them standing around, talking. Jak nodded at this statement and starting moving slowly through the darkness. "Not quite sure what it expects us to do, if we can't see what we are walking on, or through..." Jak stated as he traversed slowly next to Morpheus.

As they continued on, a dark shape suddenly appeared in front of them. Morpheus stopped, noticing the shape in the distance. It was not far, but it definitely had a bit of distance between them. It seemed to be moving closer ever so slowly, and seemed to stumble slightly as if it were limping. The figure grew closer, the room seemed to suddenly realize that Jak's tail was a source of light, and light up the room a bit and revealed the shape to be an injured Lairon with cold and dead looking eyes, walking ever so slowly towards them. Morpheus blinked, and looked to the client, waiting for word from him on what to do.

Jak
Jak noticed Morpheus had stopped on the side of him. He stopped beside Morpheus and was about to ask why until he noticed the figure in the distance also. Then suddenly the area around them lit up. Startling Jak slightly as he had gotten accustomed to the lighting. The figure, turned out to be an injured Lairon, the weird part though, was the fact its eyes were cold and dead looking.

He looked towards Morpheus who sat there blinking then he looked towards Jak. "I, honestly do not know what to expect. I don't want to attack it just yet.. I want to see what the tower plans this time..." Jak stated as he turned back towards the Lairon. He watched it come closer to them, as he waited to see what would happen. He kept himself alert just in case something were to change in its actions.

The lairon seemed to look straight forward, as if they weren't even there. It came closer, and closer, lugging forward as its iron armor clinked against itself and its footsteps stomped on the ground, the closer it grew the more the ground seemed to shake. The lairon stopped mere feet away from the two, seeming to suddenly be as still as stone. Morpheus waited, following the directions of Jak as he spoke of waiting to see what the strange creature did, however the beast only seemed to stand there, a strange gash in its armor that looked like a healing scar.

Jak looked towards Morpheus as the pokemon stopped in front of them. Staying as still as stone. He then turned back towards the Lairon, Still looking as if it was stone. Jak then noticed a gash in its armor, that looked like a healing scar.

Jak felt a bit bad for the pokemon, but was too cautious to approach it. "I don't know what kind of test this is.. But, I feel really bad about that pokemon's injury." Jak whispered towards Morpheus.

"Um.. Are, are you alright lairon?" Jak asked the pokemon softly. Attempting not to startle it or make it angry.

The lairon moved upon being addressed, looking towards the charmeleon. It was silent before opening its mouth as it spoke, "My name...isn't Lairon..."

Morpheus stared at the creature with a blank face. It was not uncommon for the pokemon to give themselves names, it helped gain sympathy and seem more realistic. It was all a part of making the client and him believe they were real living breathing beings. They were not though, Morpheus had to remind himself of this many many times. One hesitated attack could mean the end of the client's journey.

Jak
Jak looked upon the pokemon. "Sorry, what name do you go by?" Jak responded to the pokemon. Jak knew that this was another thing the tower had to come up with, Last time he encountered a guardian. It simply named itself tin. Wonder what "CLEVER" name it had this time.

He glanced to see what Morpheus was doing, he seemed to just be watching the pokemon. Jak remained in his spot, daring not to approach the pokemon as he watched its every move. Keeping an especially an eye out for anything sudden.

The lairon paused once more, before speaking lowly, as if ashamed, "...Bob."

Morpheus looked to Jak to see that he was looking at him. He shrugged, not quite knowing what to do. He would rather they just keep moving and ignore the lairon, but once again his kind nature was getting in the way. He wanted to help the pokemon, but it was not a real pokemon. It would hinder him and the client, the client more than him.

"Friendly?" he asked, not expecting the lairon to know the truth.

The lairon paused, as if thinking about it, "Neutral."

Jak
Jak looked at the Lairon, "So, bob.. Are, are you alright?" Jak asked the "FAKE" pokemon.
Jak knew it was not real, but he had to ask to make sure it was alright. It just wasn't in his nature to leave someone without help, also what if it was part of a test. You never really know that. (However he is not thinking it could be from a test)

Jak glanced towards Morpheus. He really didn't know what he could do to help though, He had nothing here. No supplies to use at all. Those berries he previously saw in the other area. He had no clue what each one could do, it was too risky to use them.

The lairon paused again, as if thinking. The drowzee wondered if the steel type was supposed to be a lot older than it appeared, as it seemed to take a bit for the cobwebbed wheels to turn in its head. Bob finally spoke, "....Neutral..."

What did that mean? Was it hurt or was it not?

"What do you mean?" Morpheus asked the lairon.

"Hurt...but not feel hurt..." the lairon elaborated without hesitation. It seemed to toss its head a bit, perhaps in the direction of its wounds, but unable to directly point it out.

Jak
Jak listened to the Lairon, it seemed soo utterly confused about its pain. The tower wouldn't give it the feeling of the pain, yet it knew it existed. Or some crazy crap along those lines.

"Umm, Is there anything we can do to help then?" Jak asked the pokemon.

'God, what does this tower want us to do this time.. What could this test possibly be.' Jak thought to himself.

Another pause, Morpheus cleared his throat, "anything like bandage it, get some kind of herb, or-"
"SHUT UP!" the lairon suddenly shouted, glaring at the two intimidatingly. He did not seem too happy to see them much anymore. It seemed to glare at Morpheus in particular, as if he were te very scum of the earth. Morpheus shivered as the glare seemed to pierce him, he held back his fear, remaining calm and waiting to see if the lairon decided to become an enemy or a friend. The lairon shook its head, "Yes. You help. You proceed."

Jak
Jak looked towards morpheus as he asked what kind of things they could get to help lairon, but he got interrupted by the lairon as it shouted to shut up. The pokemon then glared at both Morpheus, and Jak. However it seemed to have been glaring towards Morpheus the most.

Jak looked at Morpheus and back at the pokemon. Bob then stated that they could help. However, Jak didn't know of any items they had that could help the pokemon. He was sure they had nothing at the moment. Another thought ran through his mind. 'This guardian, just can't seem to make up its mind... Whether to be hostile or not it seems.' Jak thought as he watched all this happen. He had remained silent at the moment, as he didn't know what he could do to help.

The lairon remained where he was, awaiting an answer for a bit. Morpheus said nothing, unsure of what to do himself.

"You help," the lairon finally spoke, "you proceed," he repeated himself.

"Maybe there's something back there that we can use that we missed or something on the ground?" Morphues suggested, his suggestion obviously an absolute guess as to what to do. The poor drowzee could never know what to do in these kinds of situations. Was it giving them some kind of fetch quest? What did this thing want?

Jak
Jak looked at the lairon as it repeated itself, stating "You help.... you proceed"... Jak looked a bit confused. He didn't know whether it was talking to him or Morpheus, however his guess... It was directed towards him.

Morpheus then suggested that maybe there was something they missed on the ground before they got there.. Jak thought for a moment. Realizing, the flames on his tail had recently started to give off light. So maybe he will spot something this time.

"Ok, what would you like me to do?" Jak responded to the Lairon. Still unsure of what it really needs help with. He didn't want to leave and head back for something. Making the pokemon think he was leaving... It might just provoke it.
