(OPEN) Secrets of the Frozen Forest

Akuroma trudged through the thick snow of Icicle Woods, his arm held up to shield his eyes from the burning bright sun and its light shining off the snow. His cloak fluttered as the cold wind snapped at it, as if it were desperately attempting to pry it from the outlaw's body. He walked silently, doing his best to ignore the biting cold as he searched the forest for riches or worthy challengers to his power. He knew that this dungeon must hold some. He had once been here and faced an Abomasnow. Wasn't there someone else who was here with him that time? Bah, it didn't matter right now, all that mattered was what to do now.

Jak looked at Aku as he made the comment, about to interject the comment but, the sneasal seemed to be fine with the idea. Jak only sighed and waited a moment. "So, we are racing for a bunch of items." Jak stated rhetorically. 'I bet this outlaw might just try to take them anyway..' Jak thought to himself as he agreed to do the race.

"Fine, I will do the race. However, If I win. I want you to keep your items. There is no need for any unneeded weight, Unless you have something to help me with capturing an outlaw I am searching for." he stated.

They seemed to be performing a race...it'd be a shame if something...interesting were to happen during said race wouldn't it? The zoroark had the smoochum retreat behind the bushes, and hid herself behind a tree, changing the illusion to that of a swinub. She watched as a group of swinub seemed to approach from behind the mamoswine, she joined them, being sure to keep near them and behind them. She waited, waiting for the two to mount their steeds and begin the race. This would be fun, she could just mess with the race and knock them all out using the mamoswine. Loot the bodies, dead or alive, and go home with some free stuff! She stuck to the shadows as well, the mamoswine casting shadows that overcasted her own. The gallade shouldn't be able to tell she was a swinub with no sense of feeling, considering she was in the midst a mass of the same pokemon as well.

"He already agreed to give the items, don't try to act all noble and say you don't need or want anything," the Gallade said as he looked at the bunch of Swinub waddling up to the group. "So... do we ride the Swinub or the Mamoswine? I'm not exactly sure if I can ride those little Swinub." The Gallade bent down, poking one of the small Ice types. The size difference was quite great, with the Swinub barely coming over Akuroma's ankle.

"You can ride the Mamoswine, they're about as fast as the Swinub," the Sneasel said, Akuroma beginning to munch on a couple of Sitrus berries as he listened to the dark type. "Just be sure not to hit them too hard or they'll go crazy. They tend to get easily angered and rampage about."

Jak looked at the gallade, "I might as well go on the other mamoswine then. It would only be fair." Jak stated as he pointed to the second mamoswine. Jak then turned towards the direction from which he last saw the deer pokemon once more. This time something was missing. Something he didn't pick up on, but realized it was missing this time. 'Wasn't something attached to that tree over there?' Jak thought to himself. However that thing he thought was attached to the tree, was actually just a pokemon poking their head from behind a tree before... Which was also an illusion of which he did not know of.

Mirage waited, waiting for them to take off. She found the idea of them racing to be rather redundant, but it allowed an opportunity for her. Minute two with the swinub, they seemed to have had grown a bit uneasy with her sudden appearance, but she had been accepted as one of their own. She watched the gallade and the charmeleon with a grin, waiting for her game to begin. This would be a little bit difficult to keep up with if the mamoswine decided to pull some kind of move, but she would probably be able to keep up just a little bit. She hoped at the least.

The Sneasel smirked as the Charmander and Gallade hopped onto two of the Mamoswine, jumping off of his Swinub and onto the third Mamoswine. "Alright, now to race!" he said, pointing ahead. The Mamoswine reacted immediately, charging forward as quickly as possible, the little Swinub following as fast as possible themselves. Akuroma gripped onto the Mamoswine's fur with one hand, doing his best to keep himself on the Pokemon as it stampeded through the forest at full blast.

The moment Jak had gotten onto the Mamoswine, the sneasel seemed to jump on the other one and immediately state to race! The very second he said it, all the mamoswine immediately darted forward. Jak attempting to cling onto the pokemon as it darted forward. It surprised Jak how fast they were going.

The thing he worried most though, was having a branch smack him off the tree. He also noticed the swinubs' had a little trouble keeping up, They slowly fell behind them a yard or two away. However they managed to stay that distance for the rest of the time. Jak guessed they didn't want to get smashed by the mamoswine.

However, one little swinub was catching up. Mirage was on all four of her legs charging towards the mamoswine. Once she grew near, she just had to hope the others were too focused on staying on their mamoswine to notice a small insignificant swinub running alongside them. She neared the sneasel's mamoswine, and gave it a good whack with her paw, causing it to cry out in surprise and go faster. She did the same for the other two, testing to see how far she could go in messing with the mamoswine before doing bigger things, like trying to get the mamoswine to throw their riders off.

Akuroma groaned, grabbing onto the Mamoswine with both hands as it suddenly veered to the left slightly, nearly ramming into the one Jak was riding on top of. "Keep yourself straight!" the Gallade yelled over the resounding thunder of the stampede. He watched as the Sneasel was just a foot or two in front of him, its own Mamoswine having sped up slightly. The Gallade's brow furrowed as he kicked the Mamoswine's sides, "Let's go!" he said, the Mamoswine huffing before it charged forward, kicking the snow up behind it onto the Swinub.

Jak felt the mamoswine suddenly speed up a little bit after feeling it move to the side slightly. "What happened?" he shouted to the pokemon. However it didn't exactly respond. Only keeping its pace steady with the others. Jak then looked to the side noticing a swinub was by them. It must of been a little faster then the others, also fearless to not be trampled..

Failing to notice the footprints that occurred was not the same. He had returned his focus to the path too quickly to even notice it. He then heard a shout stating to keep yourself straight. Glancing over to the gallade, it seemed the mamoswine sped up a bit. Jak then patted the back of the mamoswine. "They are beating us! Lets try to get ahead of them!" he shouted so the pokemon could hear him. It seemed to acknowledge this to some extent as it sped up to match the speed of the mamoswine aku was riding. It kept its pace the same as the other once it got caught up.

Mirage smirked as she went unnoticed, however the group seemed to be speeding up. She sped up as well, having a bit of difficulty keeping up with them. Her claw grew dark as she rushed forward and slashed at the Sneasel's mamoswine, the beast giving a pained cry as a slash suddenly appeared in his hind leg. The slash caused the Mamoswine to stumble a bit and fall behind drastically as the pain from the sudden wound slowed it down. The sneasel looked down to the mamoswine, trying to figure out what had happened to his steed. Mirage darted off to the side, trying to make it appear as if the swinub illusion was too far away to have done the deed of creating a red gash in the hip of the mamoswine.

Akuroma blinked as the Sneasel's Mamoswine suddenly fell back after giving off a cry of pain. The hell's going on? the Gallade thought. He looked over at the Charmeleon, who was beginning to catch up to him. The Gallade frowned and looked down at his Mamoswine, "Hey, is it normal for you all to be getting hurt in these races like this?" The Mamoswine simply grunted, continuing to race without giving any real answer to the Gallade. The Gallade sighed, this race was pointless if he lost sight of the Sneasel and it's bag. He pulled back slightly on his Mamoswine, slowing it down some.

Jak had been catching up to the other two Mamoswine. However just as he began to reach Akuroma. The Sneasel's Mamoswine stumbled in pain drastically falling behind the other two. "What in-" he started to say but he quickly had to get his mamoswine to move out of the way of the other one as it came backwards towards him. He then looked to the side, noticing akuroma definitely had no hand in this. Akuroma seemed to slow down as the other mamoswine passed him. Jak thought for a moment, Why would he slow down... Is he seriously too focused on the bag of items? Or is he concerned...

Jak looked towards the sneasel's mamoswine, Just noticing that it seemed to limp slightly as it attempted to keep going. "That was no accident... someone did this... Hey, Slow down and run alongside them." Jak shouted towards his mamoswine so it could hear him over the running.

Glowing claws, another slash, another gash.

This time on the pokemon with the strange hips' that don't lie mamoswine. Mirage had darted back and forth between her spot and the mawmoswine, still attempting to keep her illusion away from suspicion. Although in reality, now that she thought about it, who WOULD suspect a swinub? The wounds she inflicted were claw marks, and the swinub didn't even have claws as far as she knew. She didn't allow this knowledge for her to become reckless however, the outlaw attacked the mamoswine of the sneasel's once more, this time causing the massive mammoth to cry out and collapse, throwing off the sneasel into a tree and knocking it out cold. She smirked, but her illusion looked concerned as she stopped. The trailing swinub came to a halt before gathering around the fallen mamoswine, seemingly trying to help.

Akuroma looked back, suddenly seeing the Mamoswine collapse. The Sneasel flew threw the trees before face planting a branch. Akuroma growled, jumping off of his Mamoswine and up into the trees. What kind of race was this? The Gallade jumped through the branches to the Sneasel, picking up its unconscious body. Frowning, the Gallade looked down at the fallen Mamoswine and the group of Swinub huddling around it. It was then that the Gallade noticed the several gashes across the Mamoswine's legs and hips.

What was going on? The Sneasel certainly couldn't be the culprit, could it? Akuroma shook his head, why should he care? His goal was the bag of items the Sneasel had, and he went about relieving the bag of its items. That is until a Weavile jumped out at him from the branches, slicing the bag and letting the remaining items drop to the ground below. Akuroma jumped backwards, keeping his hold on the Sneasel as his other hand began to glow white. Looks like the Gallade found the Pokemon who was slicing the Mamoswine's legs.
