https://pmd-roleplay.forumotion.org/t3950-the-careless-hopper-f» Client: Lotad » Target: Froakie » Place: Cattail Marsh » Restrictions: None » Difficulty: F » Reward: 150 poke + Bounce Band » Expiration: 4 Months after last attempt. » Exploration Points: 10
The water-drenched flatlands known as the Cattail Marsh certainly weren't much of a spectacle, at least during the day. Not even the rays of the setting sun could fix that. It was about as inviting as it looked, too. One particular glaceon knew from experience that it was annoying to travel through the marsh, if not difficult. Of course, the two birds with him would have little trouble other than occasionally having to move out of the way of a tree, since they could fly. He could have frozen the water and just walked or even skated over it if he still had Ice Beam on his side, but he just HAD to go and use another TM, he couldn't just settle for what he already had.... "Frost Breath", what a ripoff. All it had done to him was take away his ability to use Ice Beam. There was nothing akin to any "Frost Breath" replacing it from what he could tell, he was just down a move due to some faulty TM. Surely, this was the case. It couldn't possibly be that this move in particular was just something that he could not properly use. So he would have to walk through the marsh, but it wasn't like he hadn't done that before. Besides.... it would be night soon. He'd insisted on them coming later in the day for that specific reason. For the light show. "So, Linus, do you know why I wanted to come here so late?", he asked as he stopped at the edge of the water, taking a moment to speak to his companions before getting to the "fun" part. Nearby, in a rather easy to climb tree, a little ball of brown fluff was sitting on a branch over the marsh in the hopes of drying off. He'd heard this place had a pretty lightshow during the nights, but he hadn't expected it to be so wet.... despite it being a marsh. He'd decided to sit in a tree, away from the water and hopefully safe from any lurking dangers, as he waited for the promised lights. The trip here was a pain, he hoped it would at least be worth it. | Keith's ears perked up as the goomy's gaze settled on him for a moment. He thought maybe it had forgiven him for what ever he'd done. Then it seemed to become saddened just by the sight of him and looked away, just as he was considering raising a paw to wave to it. The goomy's sadness made him sad too. These mood changes just made him give off more electricity, which made his fur crackle even more.
Sova stopped his laughing for long enough to respond with words. "So, "Fatty", why don't you take the kid? Seems like you like your nickname enough.", he said in a clearly mocking tone over the nickname.
The wishcash turned towards the glaceon, keeping his cheery smile, before questioning, "Are you a child?"
"....No.", the glaceon responded.
"Then why are you acting like one?", the wishcash asked.
"I'm-"
"You're mimicking a child, so it's only sensible to assume you ARE a child. I don't see your parents anywhere, so maybe I should take you with me as well.", the wishcash "offered", still keeping his cheery smile as if to say that the whole situation wasn't even phasing him.
Sova stopped responding after that, resorting to glaring. The wishcash's casual mention of his parents had struck a nerve and he feared if he continued the conversation any further, he'd end up killing the overgrown fish.
Seeing that the glaceon had backed down, the wishcash simply chuckled and turned his attention back to the archeops and the little goomy. "I'd be more than happy to give you some advice, if you like. Or I could take the child off your hands if that's what you'd prefer.", said the fish.

| Linus had to keep from laughing at the burn the wiscash had given him, knowing the glaceon would likely not hesitate to attack him and he favored not dying. The honchkrow looked to the archeops, and was surprised to see that the archeops was honestly debating it, "So you're just going to give some child away to a random stranger?" Linus spoke bluntly with disbelief, sure the archeops had some kind of curse on him that could result in it getting hurt, but he would rather they risk it and bring it back to grassveil in some adoption service thing rather than leaving it with some stranger. "Well no...but I doubt things would be better if we did keep it..." the Archeops spoke, looking between the wiscash and the goomy. He had disregarded the conversation between the wiscash and the glaceon, not quite finding anything funny at the moment. Should he be trusted with the child? Surely anything would be better than him? He tried to set the goomy down once more on the boulder near him, trying to think this through. "MAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMYYYYYYY!" the goomy screamed as he was set down again, terrified that Taffy might attack him or keep making terrifying noises. The goomy began to cry again, sobbing uncontrollably and forcing the archeops to pick him right back up once more with wide eyes at the suddenly amazingly loud bawling. | The wishcash couldn't help but chuckle at the child's attachment. He knew no way the archeops could have been this goomy's biological father, but it clearly had an attachment to him. "Looks like he really likes you. Maybe your friend's right, taking him away would be cruel.", he admitted. The thought of the goomy having been stolen or in poor care crossed his mind, sure, but he could see a few guild badges and bags. He figured the group must be guild members, so they were surely trustworthy.
Sova didn't find the earsplitting whining to be nearly as funny as the wishcash. Normally, he would shut something up by hitting it or yelling at it, but this was a child so that wasn't really much of an option. He was mean, but he wasn't heartless. He simply gritted his teeth and continued to tolerate the situation.
Keith noticed the glaceon in front of him being overly silent and still. He thought about poking the glaceon, but remembered he had electricity surging through him so that was a bad idea. He thought about speaking, but the thought of saying something to further agitate the glaceon swayed him away from that idea. He decided the best course of action for him was to simply continue being silent.

| "Well he can't stay with me all the time," the archeops spoke with concern, "I live in Ailreon Guild, one wrong step and he'll fall right off the island..." Acro looked to the wiscash, begging for some kind of answer before looking to the others. What was he going to do with this?! He could not constantly keep him around! He waited for some kind of reply, lost in what course of action to take.
Linus listened as Acro explained why the goomy would not be able to live with him to the wiscash, "Don't forget the curse..." Linus said under his breath, sounding like an inaudible mumble to the archeops. The honchkrow kept an eye on the situation above, before he suddenly saw some shapes in the water rising up, "someone's come to visit," he spoke.
The goomy looked towards the newcomers, a group of poliwhirl and some poliwags. They all seemed to be glaring at him? "Taffy!" he huffed, not liking the intimidating and hungry looking glares the polis were giving him and Mammy. He quickly retreated to burying his face into Mammy, knowing that they would not like being called Taffy. The name was an insult to the Goomy, the worst and only one he knew, considering he was way too young to use any other language let alone understand what it meant.
"Give us the kid." the lead poliwhirl huffed.

| "Well-", the wishcash began after a moment of contemplation, but was cut off by the abrupt entrance of a group of circle-bellied creatures. He turned to the newcoming group before speaking. "The goomy is not for sale, sorry. How about a nice glaceon child? This one has gotten lost and needs to be returned to his family.", he said and pointed a fin out of the water at the glaceon, still keeping his oblivious grin.
Sova's fur began to stand and freeze as his agitation heightened. He'd stopped talking, yet the wishcash kept going. At this point he felt like he NEEDED to hit something. He just waited for the newcomers to show any further signs of aggression, then he was going to rip them apart. He felt a familiar cold burn in his throat as his Frost Breath activated again.
Keith was worried for a moment about the newcoming and clearly hostile pokemon, but began backing away as he saw the icy mist from earlier begin leaking from the glaceon's mouth. This was much more worrisome to him than a few poliwhirls and poliwags could be. He didn't want to be anywhere NEAR that.

| Acro looked to the poliwhirls, a bit confused as to what they wanted until they mentioned the goomy, "uh, no," he stated rather bluntly, a bit bemused as to why the poliwhirl would think that he would just give the dragon type toddler to some random menacing looking strangers. At least the wiscash was friendly about it if he was looking to steal it! These guys were just plain nuts. The archeops noticed that Sova seemed ready to attack, he looked to the goomy, wondering if he should attack while still holding this thing or to just wait it out.
Linus continued to watch the situation from above, deciding to be a coward and do nothing as he watched the events unfold. He was not ready to fight, but the glaceon seemed sure as hell ready. The honchkrow shuffled his feet, as he watched the poliwhirl take steps closer, threatening them more and more with threats.
"If you don't give it up, then you lil babies gon get hurt!" a poliwrath hissed. The goomy, however, only understood the word "hurt" really, the all mighty cupcake supplier used to use that word a lot. What did it mean? He didn't know, all he knew was that it was a bad word. Something that should not be done. The goomy glared at the new enemy, his attention being drawn away from the electric Taffy to the water-taffys.

"That's all the reason I need to-", Sova began, before being cut off by the wishcash being a god among fish attacking with astounding power.
The wishcash gave a hearty chuckle at the threats. "That's nice, now go away.", he said as he waved a fin over the edge of the water, as if to dismiss the threats. The water rippled in the direction of the polis, followed seconds later by the sounds of cracking from.... under the water. Suddenly, the water began to seemingly split in two in front of the wishcash, shooting from the seemingly gentle fish over to the group of threatening thugs in mere seconds.
A gaping hole had opened in the ground beneath the water and began sucking the water into it, the poliwags being helplessly sucked into it and the poliwhirls being sucked in after a moment of struggle. Some nearby parts of the glaceon's icy platform were also torn off and sucked under from the force of the suction, as if the fissure its self was pulling things into it. After a few seconds, the rapid suction of the water ended, the fissure having completely filled up.
The wishcash turned back to the archeops he had been so rudely cut off from in the middle of their conversation, still wearing his indifferent smile. "Where were we?"
Keith's ears flattened as he watched the wishcash unleash a terrifying power and if he'd had a tail, it would have curled between his legs. Forget being scared of the glaceon or any enemies in this place, now he was scared of this giant fish! What if the wishcash decided he didn't like them any more!? Would the others even be able to fight him?? The jolteon felt very strongly that he wouldn't be able to do a thing if that happened.
Sova's jaw dropped as the wishcash unleashed a devastating attack on the enemies. The Frost Breath began carelessly leaking from his mouth, but he didn't really care about that at the moment. All that mattered to him was what he just saw. This thing had this kind of power the whole time!? He couldn't believe it. He knew Fissure existed and was extremely dangerous, but.... he'd never seen such a powerful move used so efficiently.

| Acro stared at the wiscash with wide eyes, unable to speak. He had waved a fin...A FIN...and the polis were likely dead. At the very least, this guaranteed that the Wiscash was friendly with no other motive. If he had wanted he could easily just force them to hand over the goomy with massive abilities like that. Still though, the archeops was in absolute awe of the Wiscash's strength. Why couldn't he be like that? So powerful as to dismiss opponents with the wave of a wing?
"What?" Linus spoke, laughing nervously at the display of power. He was unsure of what to think of such a powerful move. Should he be afraid? Relieved? The Honchkrow decided to remain silent, and be prepared to fly away if things came to the worst possible situation. He glanced around for the other's reactions, noting that they all seemed to be the same way.
The goomy watched as the Taffy's disappeared. He giggled, "Bye bye Taffy!" he spoke with a bit of a taunt in his tone. The Goomy looked to the others, before noticing a strange bug type seemed to be coming towards them, its small wings flapping so quickly that it was difficult to see them moving. "BzzBzz?" the goomy asked, looking at the angry looking masquerain that was heading towards them. "My friends!" the masquerain growled as it glared at the wiscash, "You killed them! You shall pay!"

| The whishcash sighed upon hearing the threats and spun around, a blue and purple glow surrounding him as he turned, Dragon Dance. He back-paddled and lowered into the water, waiting for the masquerain to near him, before propelling himself out of the water and into the bug. His body let off a flurry of sparks as he electrocuted the flying bug, knocking it unconscious and dropping it to the water. He then fell back into the water.... on top of it.
He turned back to the group and began swimming away from the masquerain as it floated to the surface.
Keith watched in confusion as the whishcash, a GROUND type, used an ELECTRIC type move. How!? Ground types were immune to electricity! Was there no end to what this creature could do?? He simply remained silent, trying to comprehend this fish's confusing abilities.
Sova, honestly, couldn't have even gotten more surprised. The whishcash could rip a hole in the earth and suck an entire gang of thugs into it with the wave of a fin, so of course it could attack airborne opponents in close range as A FISH. OF COURSE. THAT MAKES PERFECT SENSE.

| Acro remained in the same state of awe, as did Linus. The two watched as the wiscash made quick work of the Masquerain, showing obvious power, and ability to protect. Acro was almost convinced that things would be better off for both the goomy and him and Linus. The goomy would be safely protected, and the wiscash could travel around and discover his parents perhaps! It seemed like the best thing to do, until the goomy did something that threw all plans down the drain.
The goomy screeched in fear as the electricity sparked and jumped from the wiscash, "TAFFY! TAFFY!" it yelped, digging its head into Acro's chest as he began to cry once more. The goomy sobbed onto the Archeops's chest, the electricity frightening the young toddler into hating the Wiscash he had grown to know as Fatty. The goomy hugged the Archeops with his antlers, trying to escape from the scary noises.
"Well there goes that plan..." Linus sighed as the goomy screamed in terror. Fantastic, now it would probably refuse to go near the Wiscash. Something about it had scared him, it was probably because of the electricity. He had connected the dots easily since the goomy was just fine with the fissure opening up and swallowing others whole, but a bit of electricity? NOPE.

| Keith gasped as the goomy decided to hate someone other than him. "It's not just me....", he muttered in his relief. But why did the goomy decide to hate the wishcash who was just protecting it? All he'd done was.... attack.... with an Electric type move. !
"He's afraid of electricity!", he blurted out, realizing shortly after that he'd been kind of abrupt. He then decided to fall back to silence.
The wishcash's smile finally faded to a frown as the goomy seemed to suddenly fear and hate him. He was confused for a moment, until he heard the jolteon's words. "I suppose you're right.", he replied to the honchkrow. He then directed his gaze to the archeops. "So, what do you plan to do?" He awaited the archeops' answer, wondering what the bird would choose. If it came down to it, would he leave the child here with some stranger it didn't like, or take care of it?
Sova turned back as he heard the jolteon behind him speak. He thought about apologizing, considering it was his fault Keith was now a walking lightning bolt, but he just couldn't find the words. He then noticed that the slight burn in his throat had stopped. He exhaled to check and sure enough, there was no frosty mist. His Frost Breath had deactivated due to his shock! What a relief. Now if only he could learn how to do that on command, it'd be just fantastic. At least he now knew it was possible to shut it off without overcooling himself to the point that he physically couldn't keep it up any more, though.

| "Well...I guess we have no choice but to let him come with us," the archeops spoke, looking down to the terrified goomy. He looked back to the wiscash, wondering if he should feel sorry for it suddenly being hated like that, "Maybe we could find his parents? Or find someone he doesn't not like in the town that would be willing to take him in?" the archeops looked down at the goomy once more, hoping he was not making some kind of dumb decision.
Linus remained silent about all of this, realizing that the wiscash and the others were likely hearing every word he was saying. He decided to shut his beak and wait out the encounter from his safe spot high up in the tree. Nobody but Acro could reach him here with ease, and he was pretty sure the Archeops had no intention of suddenly attacking him. Here he would remain, the safe zone.
The goomy looked up to Mammy, before returning the glare back to the wiscash. Why did Mammy have to hang around so many Taffys? Why did Fatty and Cupcake have to betray him and become one of the Taffys? Why? Why? The goomy wanted to spit at them, but did not know how. Instead, he merely blew a raspberry at each of them, only to a receive a stern scolding for him to knock it off in return from Mammy. He silenced himself, but still felt a grudge towards Cupcake and Fatty.

| Keith's ears flattened as the goomy showed even more hostility to him. It felt a bit better knowing he wasn't the only one and that it was just because of his new-found electricity, but that didn't mean it was nice. His fur crackled louder as he felt guilty yet again. Why was there no way to turn this off? Or if there was, why was there no manual? Maybe he could ask the glaceon for some advice.... He was the one who gave the stone to him, after all.
"Man, he really doesn't like you guys.", Sova chimed in with a chuckle, clearly finding the situation funny.
The whishcash took a deep breath, regained his cheery smile and turned to the glaceon. "I could jolt you so he dislikes you too, if you like.", he "offered" to the glaceon.
"Try it.", Sova retorted.
The whishcash chuckled before replying, "I think I'll pass; I'm busy talking to your friend here." He then turned back to the archeops. "You've got a good plan, but what if you can't find anyone to take him?", he asked.
"Maybe if we hang him from a tree, some bird will take him away.", Sova suggested.
The whishcash turned back to the glaceon before replying, "Why do you want to get rid of him so badly? He's a child, you should get along great with him."
"I wasn't talking about him.", Sova retorted with a smirk.
The whishcash sighed and turned away from the glaceon, completely ignoring his past remark and not even dignifying it with a response. The comment didn't exactly enrage him, considering he was fairly certain there was no bird alive strong enough to even carry him, so it just seemed silly to say such a thing.

| "Well, i'm not exactly a capable parent, if we don't then I guess i'll do my best to take care of it? There has to be somebody that needs to keep him in grassveil though, since Ailreon would be a walking death trap..." the archeops spoke. He was not sure if he'd be able to do a good job, but he could at the very least try to make sure the Goomy stayed alive. He would have asked the glaceon, but it seemed he was not really all that favorable of the situation and he doubted he would want to put up with a child when he needed to go off doing guild work.
Linus remained silent, doing the same exact thing as last time. There was not much else for him TO do really other than to wait for this event to end and watch the sunset or perhaps keep an eye out for foes. he doubted that they would be a problem though since the wiscash seemed to be crazy strong.
The goomy continued to hug snuggle the Archeops, hugging him and wishing the Taffys would just go away already. How long would he have to put up with these Taffys? Why couldn't things just go back to the way they were before this entire mess with these stupid Taffys? Why could Spoop and Mammy just run away?

| Sova sighed in agitation at the archeops' comments. He really didn't want to even help with taking care of a child, but he wasn't going to leave his friend hanging. "You've got three helpers if it comes to that.", he commented, volunteering Linus and Keith regardless of their actual opinions on it. He couldn't bare to leave his friend hanging; that didn't mean he was going to volunteer himself without dragging the others down with him.
He wondered if he would even be able to bring Keith down with him though. Would the jolteon really be able to put up with both the difficulties of being a guild member AND the difficulties of being on a team with someone so insensitive as him? He had to wonder.
Keith's ears perked slightly as the glaceon spoke. He was more than happy to help with the situation, though he doubted that he would be able to due to the goomy having a vendetta against electricity. But this meant something else that relieved him a bit. The glaceon would have to have been planning to let Keith onto his team if he expected the jolteon to be around to help with something like that! All hope was not lost for his endeavors!
The whishcash listened to the conversation, a bit surprised any of the others had bothered to offer help. The LAST one he'd expected to offer something like that was the immature glaceon. Though the other two hadn't said anything yet, but surely if this one was willing to help, the other two, less obnoxious ones were as well. He stayed silent for the moment as he waited to see if the members of this group wanted to talk more. He didn't want to be rude and interrupt.
