| First topic message reminder :- Mission Details:
https://pmd-roleplay.forumotion.org/t3950-the-careless-hopper-f» Client: Lotad » Target: Froakie » Place: Cattail Marsh » Restrictions: None » Difficulty: F » Reward: 150 poke + Bounce Band » Expiration: 4 Months after last attempt. » Exploration Points: 10
The water-drenched flatlands known as the Cattail Marsh certainly weren't much of a spectacle, at least during the day. Not even the rays of the setting sun could fix that. It was about as inviting as it looked, too. One particular glaceon knew from experience that it was annoying to travel through the marsh, if not difficult. Of course, the two birds with him would have little trouble other than occasionally having to move out of the way of a tree, since they could fly. He could have frozen the water and just walked or even skated over it if he still had Ice Beam on his side, but he just HAD to go and use another TM, he couldn't just settle for what he already had.... "Frost Breath", what a ripoff. All it had done to him was take away his ability to use Ice Beam. There was nothing akin to any "Frost Breath" replacing it from what he could tell, he was just down a move due to some faulty TM. Surely, this was the case. It couldn't possibly be that this move in particular was just something that he could not properly use. So he would have to walk through the marsh, but it wasn't like he hadn't done that before. Besides.... it would be night soon. He'd insisted on them coming later in the day for that specific reason. For the light show. "So, Linus, do you know why I wanted to come here so late?", he asked as he stopped at the edge of the water, taking a moment to speak to his companions before getting to the "fun" part. Nearby, in a rather easy to climb tree, a little ball of brown fluff was sitting on a branch over the marsh in the hopes of drying off. He'd heard this place had a pretty lightshow during the nights, but he hadn't expected it to be so wet.... despite it being a marsh. He'd decided to sit in a tree, away from the water and hopefully safe from any lurking dangers, as he waited for the promised lights. The trip here was a pain, he hoped it would at least be worth it. | Sova froze in confusion as the poliwhirl lifted off into the air. His ears flattened in his confused state as he took a moment to realize Metronome had happened. It was a bit hard to comprehend a flying poliwhirl. It really was. He began backing away on his path of ice as he realized the flying, boxing spiral of fun was coming right towards him. The poliwhirl slammed into his icy path right beside him as he narrowly avoided it, the force of the impact and ripples in the water shattering the path he'd created and almost causing him to fall into the water. He leaped onto a broken chunk of the ice that was floating away from the scene before commenting, "Nice trick.... But I've got some tricks too." With that, he opened his mouth and created a ball of shadowy energy in front of him before snapping his jaws shut, which propelled the Shadow Ball towards the poliwhirl.
Keith shuddered at the impact the poliwhirl made, relieved to see the blue jolteon not dead afterwards. "Is your friend strong enough? He looks like he's having some trouble.... Maybe you should help him.", he spoke up to the pinata bird he was now sharing a flotation device with as he watched the fight. He certainly wasn't going to help, as he'd probably just get in the way anyways, but surely the big, colorful bird was a lot stronger than him.

| The poliwhirl was struck by the Shadow Ball, giving a loud "OOF!" as he was struck, before announcing, "So you fight with the powers of the darkness foul demon? I banish thee!" he cried as he waggled his finger once more, this time he dropped right from the sky as the Fly move no longer supported him. He glowed orange, his muscles becoming bulkier as Superpower took into effect and he dropped from the sky towards the glaceon.
Acro shook his head, "No, he's pretty strong...he said he's got this, and I don't think he would like it if we interfered..." the archeops spoke, shuffling his feet on the log. The goomy on his back looked to the eevee, as if thinking.
"Cupcake?" it asked the eevee, as if some memory of the eevee's image connected it to the word 'Cupcake'.
Linus watched the battle, watching as...since when was the Glaceon an Umbreon? Why was the Poliwhirl suddenly a murkrow? What was going on here? Were these two secretly dittos? The honchkrow watched as the world before him began to twist and distort, changing colors and shapes, faces appearing where they should not be. His eyes widened in fear of his, and he remained frozen to his spot.

| Keith turned towards the little purple ball of goop which had called him "cupcake" and tilted his head to the right. "Uh.... No, I'm pretty sure there's no cupcakes here.", he commented before hearing a crashing sound. In just the few seconds he'd looked away from the fight, he had missed something so important! The blue jolteon was no longer in sight, a large splash in the water having taken his place when the eevee turned his head back to see, which worried him. The pinata bird claimed this guy was capable, but he seemed to be losing....
Sova attempted to flee as the poliwhirl once again fell upon him.... literally. Sadly, the water around him wouldn't freeze fast enough and he ended up breaking through a thin layer of ice, keeping him in one place. Then he felt the impact. It was like having a bag of bricks being slammed onto him and being dragged under the water by it. He struggled to hold what little breath he could retain as he felt a painful cold begin coating the inside of his throat and lungs. Was he dying? He knew some described dying as feeling cold.... But he never imagined it'd feel this cold.
Either way, there was no way death was going to catch him this easily. He felt himself wavering on the edge of consciousness, the evil within practically begging to take over and handle the situation.... but why would he allow that? It was just getting fun.

| Acro flinched as he witnessed Sova get smashed underwater. He had decided that he had taken enough of this, and plucked the goomy off of his back and placed him next to the eevee, "Watch it," he ordered the eevee. His wings, having finally dried enough to the point where he could fly, forced himself into the air, rocking the log dangerously for the Eevee and Goomy.
He gave a screech as he approached the idiotic and insane poliwhirl, planning to use Fly against the foe. The Poliwhirl looked to him and waggled the finger once more, before the attack turned into...splash...the poliwhirl squeaked in fear as the archeops slammed into the poliwhirl. The heroic pokemon desperately attempted to waggle the finger once more, only to get a rather weak growl coming from his throat. The archeops's tail glowed with Iron as he slammed it into the blue thing, trying to stop it from wagging the finger before something more dangerous came out
He was too late. The finger glowed, and a blast of ice shot forth from the poliwhirl's center. Acro's eyes widened, and everything went dark.
Linus watched the pretty colors twist about in the sky, a brilliant green colliding with a strange grey shape. The shivering honchkrow was unsure of whether to enjoy this or be absolutely terrified. Where was his fri-no the group. He should be helping them, getting stronger. Where was this mad land he was in!?
The goomy looked to the eevee, "Cupcake?" it repeated again, this time nudging the eevee after the log settled down, "You bweng Cupcake Yum Yum?"

| Keith nodded and looked at the goomy for a moment before directing his attention back to the fight. He watched as the pinata bird seemed to give the poliwhirl some trouble, before being blasted with a flurry of ice and dropped to the water. He shivered momentarily out of fear as those he'd gathered to be the strongest of the group by far had both been knocked out from what he could tell. Then the little blob speaking again caught his attention. He looked over to it and replied, "N-no.... sorry, I don't have any cupcakes."
He then looked back to the scene to see that a small area had become shrouded in a thick, white, icy mist. He went back to watching out of curiosity as to what this was.
Sova spun around in the water, ready to counterattack as soon as the poliwhirl went after him, only to see that he was alone under the water. He could faintly see the silhouettes of the poliwhirl and.... Acro. For a moment, he took his time coming back to the surface, figuring he'd let Acro take the spotlight on this one, then he saw the archeops take a rather brutal looking icy attack and drop out of the sky. In immediate rage, he huffed, only to see an icy mist come from his mouth and freeze the water in front of him. Of course he paddled away in the water at first, not wanting himself to be trapped inside of, but when it stopped, he immediately planted his front paws to it and pulled himself up. He cooled his paws and froze the fur on them into spikes to assist in pulling himself up, continuing to breathe the strange mist the whole time.
As he got himself onto the little bit of ice he'd created, the frosty mist only increased in quantity, completely shrouding him in seconds as it actually burned him from inside. He could see the water around him freezing through the mist and finally understood.... "Frost Breath. Guess it wasn't a ripoff after all....", he muttered to himself before spinning in a circle and blowing most of the mist away, freezing a large area around him as the mist traveled over the water.
"You should really be focused on me!", he shouted to the poliwhirl as he spotted it, his fur flaring into spikes of ice and boosting his speed dramatically as he could finally run at full speed, the Frost Breath rapidly freezing the water in front of him enough to warrant him running at full speed. He ran straight for the poliwhirl, blowing the freezing breath along the water in front of him in a line until it reached the blue bipedal creature, proceeding to skate along the remainder at a high speed as he prepared to swing his tail at the thing's face.

| The archeops splashed into the water, unconscious with various parts of his body frozen and frost coating what was not completely frozen. The prehistoric bird was down and out for the count, having been struck with an attack that guarantees a one hit knock out. His head remained above water, ice having formed behind him to create a rather uncomfortable cushion that kept his head in breathable space.
The poliwhirl was struck with the frost breath, a Critical Hit being dealt due to the attack's guarantee of a Critical Hit against him. The water type cried out, and waggled his finger once more, before unleashing a rather Eerie Impulse at the Glaceon due to the Metronome. Once that was finished, he attempted to grab the glaceon's ears and throw him once more in a Circle Throw.
Linus felt a growing sense of panic as the world around him began to make less and less sense. He hugged himself with his wings and pressed against the trunk of the tree, trying to comfort himself in the nonsensical world and wish for his mother's presence.
The goomy seemed to be rather disheartened as the eevee rejected the request for cupcakes. The goomy became teary eyed, and nudged the eevee once more, "You...Cupcake?" it asked, seeming as if it was on the verge of crying.

| Sova growled as an odd feeling static was cast into him and began disorienting him. His newfound Frost Breath decreased in quantity, as if the flow was being restricted. However, the spikes coating his body were just fine. He let the poliwhirl grab onto him once again, this time flaring his ribbons up with large spikes the second the creature latched onto him. As it let go and left red stains on his ribbons and its own mitts, he blew another of the cold blasts onto it - mostly just to obscure its vision - before darting forward, ducking and sliding along the ice and spinning around. He aimed to knock the poliwhirl off its feet with his tail, then lift himself and slam his tail into its face.... which happened to be its entire body so he had a pretty big target to work with.
Keith once again looked back to the goomy, flattening his ears as he felt bad for upsetting it. But he didn't have any cupcakes, what was he supposed to do? "You.... you can call me Cupcake if you want, but I don't have any cupcakes, sorry.", he offered in the hopes that perhaps the ball of goo was calling him a cupcake. He didn't really fancy the name, but what was he to do? Let the child cry?

| The goomy was pleased with this new development, it give a happy giggle and cuddled up next to the eevee, "Cupcaaaaake!" the goomy looked back to the battle, ready to see 'Mammy' and 'Spoop' kick absolute butt out of 'Taffy', however, 'Mammy' was nowhere to be seen! The goomy looked about, fearful that Mammy might have left him all alone! The goomy began to tear up again, "M-Mammy?" it spoke.
Linus meanwhile was still suffering the effects of the mushrooms, the sense of paranoia and insecurity becoming worse as time went on. The outside world suddenly seemed to large and frightening, he tried to cover his eyes with his wings, hide from the outside world, but the strange colors and shapes only followed him into the darkness of his wings.
Acro remained in the same state he was a minute ago. He's not going anywhere.
The poliwhirl yelped as it was smashed in the face, rubbing the wound, before deciding it had obtained the last straw with these evil doers, "That's it!" he huffed. His pointed his finger at the glaceon, this time waggling it, however, something different happened. The poliwhirl felt the energy drain from him, and he suddenly collapsed, fainted. A shadow shot towards the glaceon, moving to sharply lower every method of attack the glaceon had, Memento.

| Sova paused as the poliwhirl did the familiar attack once again, Metronome. He prepared for more unlucky attacks to come his way, but instead, he found the enemy collapsing onto the ground. A shadow shot towards him and he stepped back, only to see that it had done.... nothing. "Yeah, good job buddy. You reeeeally showed me....", he sarcastically congratulated to the unconscious walking swirly circle. Then he began feeling his strength being sucked away. It wasn't hurting him, but it was severely weakening him.
"Okay.... I'll admit this is a slight inconvenience....", he muttered, his voice sounding a bit strained as it suddenly became a bit harder to do normal things, for instance, walking. He attempted to shut the flow of frosty death off by straining his throat, but he quickly realized.... he didn't know how. He had no clue how to make this dangerous move stop! What was he going to do!? He shut his mouth in his panic, but the mist started coming out of his nose. Instead, he took to just breathing through his mouth while covering it with a paw, which at least smothered most of the icy death before it got very far. What was he going to do!?
Keith sighed as his apparent new nickname was chanted once again. It wasn't too bit of a deal.... as long as it kept the goomy calm. Then he heard its fearful voice, worried of the pinata bird it'd dubbed "Mammy." He tried to think of some way to comfort it, but he was worried too. Then the blue jolteon started winning the fight and the poliwhirl.... did some kind of weird self-destruct from what he could tell. "D-don't worry, I'm sure he's alright....", he assured in the hopes of calming the little thing down.

| The goomy looked to the eevee, a bit uncertain of what he was talking about, but seemed to cheer up as he spoke the words, "Alright" It grinned, "Awight!" he spoke, "Awight, Awight, Awight!!" it's tissue on the body seemed to jiggle slightly as it bounced around a bit. The log shook slightly because of the goomy, but luckily did not capsize or roll too much.
Acro remained where he was...still passed the hell out....you sure he's going to be fine Keith?
Linus finally seemed to remember that he had eyelids, and shut his eyes tightly. He waited a moment...was he falling? The splash of water on his back suggested yes as he fell into the water below. He shot right back up, gasping for breath and panicking as the strange world around him was still in many strange shapes and colors. He pulled himself up onto a boulder, shivering and trying to keep himself from returning to what felt like a carvanha infested water.
Back by the tree the Poliwhirl had knocked down, the small bug type known as illumise seemed to be waking up...

| Acro you're fine walk it off.
Sova looked over to the deadified archeops, beginning to move towards the bird, before remembering his situation. He couldn't get near Acro, not like this, he could hurt him! He looked around for someone to help him, spotting Linus first. "Lin-", he began speaking from under his paw, but stopped himself as the bird seemed to drop out of the air and into the water. "Nope.", he commented before looking to the two sitting on the log. "Eevee, help Acro for me!"
Keith was relieved to see the goomy calm once more, only to jump slightly as the word "eevee" was called. He assumed that meant him, since he was the only eevee here that he knew of. "W-who's Acro?", he questioned, seeing as how both of the birds seemed to be having difficulties at this point.
"The archeops!", Sova replied before holding his breath and point the paw previously used to cover his mouth over to the archeops floating in the water. He then went back to covering his mouth so he could breathe without worrying about freezing anything.
Keith looked over to the pinata bird floating along the surface of the water, the.... archeops? So that's what the strangely colored bird was. "A-alright", he replied hesitantly as he was worried about doing something wrong and angering the blue jolteon who seemed to have a temper. "Wait here, okay?", he looked to the goomy and requested. "I'm gonna.... uh.... help.... Mammy."

| "Mammy!" the goomy spoke, concern rising in his voice once more. The goomy quickly crawled on top of the eevee, not planning to let go until they reached Mammy. "Mammy! Mammy! Mammy!" he spoke, looking longingly at the floating archeops.
The archeops remained floating...nothing has changed this guy's knocked out cold for sure.
Linus shivered, staring off into space while he waited for his vision to stop being weird or for his bravery to run dry and cause panic. The Honchkrow was oblivious to what was happening around him in reality, a bit too busy in his own mind to pay much attention to what the strange shapes and colors were actually doing.
The illumise flew into the air, surveying the group and spotting the knocked out Poliwhirl. Joy seemed to spread across its face, and it gave of a triumphant buzz, "HA! TAKE THAT YOU IGNORANT PRICK!" it shouted, pointing at the poliwhirl, "Who did this?" she asked pointing to the poliwhirl, "Who must I thank!?"

| Keith shivered slightly as the gooey creature crawled onto him, but allowed it to. The only alternative was probably upsetting it again anyways. "Alright.... Just stay up there.", he quietly commented to the goomy on his head as he carefully dropped into the water, making sure to at least keep his head above the water so that the goomy was safe. He waded towards the archeops and immediately put a paw on the bird, deciding to first check for a pulse, which he could feel. What else could he really do, though? He tried to shake the bird awake, figuring it was better than nothing.
Sova looked up as an illumise buzzed up into the air, shouting obscenities at the unconscious poliwhirl. Honestly, he couldn't say it didn't deserve it, though there wasn't much point in insulting it now since it was kind of not awake. When the bug asked for the culprit, he raised a paw and whistled, in an attempt to get the attention of the illumise without speaking. As he'd hoped, whistling resulted in less of the icy mist and more control over where the mist went, so he could make sure he didn't freeze over any more of the water for the time being or hurt anyone. Looking up made him realize just how long they'd been out here; the last rays of sunlight were fading away. That must have been why this illumise was out and about, it was almost time!

The Illumise turned and looked to the glaceon, giving a gleeful squeal as it attempted to hug the glaceon. It flew towards the ice type, ready to hug and thank it a million times. However it stopped as it felt a cold chill around the ice type that forced it to back up and thank him from afar, "Thank you thank you so much!!! Why are you so cold though? Did he do something to you?!"
The goomy crawled onto the archepos, "Mammy! Mammy!" he spoke gleefully, awaiting a response from the knocked out flying type. The gooey creature crawled onto the frozen chest of the prehistoric bird, shivering at the cold and retreating to the unfrozen but frosty stomach, "Mammy?" it asked, wanting the archeops to respond.
Acro remained unmoving, this guy is like totally out of it holy crud.
"G-Guys?" he finally spoke, the honchkrow's fears increasing with his eyes wide, not daring to close them again after being brutally attacked by the water because of it. He had no idea what was going on, and this was nothing like he had ever experienced. This was just too terrifying! Why were things deformed now? Why was that tree purple!? Why was the shape that vaguely reminded him of Sova look pink!?
Note: Shinka is from here on introduced as an actual character, pages from here on will count towards his level. Also he will not be referred to as Shinka yet due to not having received his name yet.

| Sova sighed, huffing out more of the icy mist, before remembering he needed to keep his paw on his mouth and quickly fixed that. "I-I used a TM for a move called Frost Breath.... I don't really know how to control it.", he explained honestly to the illumise. "Oh, but he did hurt my friend pretty bad, do you have anything that could help him?", he asked from under his paw before holding his breath yet again and pointing the paw over to the floating archeops. He then quickly retracted his paw back to his mouth so he could breathe again.
Keith sighed as the archeops remained unmoving. He wasn't dead, but he definitely wasn't awake. The eevee decided to go see if the other bird was alright, the one who seemed to be malfunctioning. He swam over to the abnormally large murkrow and spoke up, "Are.... are you alright?" He looked back to make sure the goomy was still on the archeops, feeling kind of bad for not being able to help. But at least he could try to help this bird to make up for it.
