| Watching as Brian used the trees to draw into the lead, Arietta couldn't help but grin. She couldn't just relax in a race like this after all and focussed her attention on flying faster. She knew she was better than this, after all she practised her aerial skills every morning, day and evening, hardly ever touching the ground. Dodging around one of the forest's tree trunks, she flew past Arashi once again and as she had done before, playfully tapped the Shinx with one tiny black foot. This time however, she tapped Arashi's ear as she soared past before aiming to catch up with Brian ahead.
Arietta knew that Brian was stronger than her and by all means should be faster, but having known him for a while already, she was determined not to be out-done. After passing Arashi, the young Fletchling had been gaining speed at a rather extraordinary rate. She hadn't realised at first, but when she did, she found it to be slightly alarming. Quite by accident, she shot straight past the Chimchar, leaving a white trail in her wake.
Narrowly dodging an overhanging tree branch, Arietta didn't notice the Sentret that was making it's way through the forest only a few metres ahead. Her speed meant that there wasn't much time between seeing and colliding, the Fletchling charging straight into the Scout Pokemon. The impact of the collision threw the Sentret a good few feet away whilst Arie herself had tumbled onto the ground and was currently lay on her back catching her breath.
"W-what was that..." she blinked to herself as she breathed in and out, letting the shock of the sudden change diffuse from her mind. The Fletchling soon got back to her feet and gently flapped her wings as if searching for some sort of change in the way they felt. She had flown fast before, but not that fast.

| While he wasn't paying too much attention to what was behind him, Brian could see that Arashi was keeping up with him and Arie fairly well. He wouldn't consider the two of them godly when it came to speed, but even still it was impressive that she seemed capable of this level of speed. However, he was still play racing those two, so Brian went back to focusing on their little race.
What Brian hadn't expected as soon as he did so was for Arie to come in and zip past him in what seemed like an instant. Seeing the trail she left behind her, he realized that she must have used Quick Attack or some other similar move."That's cool, she can speed up like that just by using a move. Wish I had something like that..." Brian said, a little jealous of her Quick Attack. Speaking of which, whether intentionally or not, Arie ended up flying right into a random Pokemon using said move, causing both her and who she hit to get sent to the ground. Brian ran on over to her, though thankfully she seemed to be okay.
"Well, you soared right into a wild Pokemon and sent it flying with your Quick Attack. Didn't know you could use that." Brian said, hiding his slight jealousy of her move. After saying that, he saw an Orange Gummi near his feet and picked it up.

| Arashi, who had been flooded with excitement from the little "race," was quickly surprised when Arie shot past her like a bullet. Arashi, who would dare herself to do the most insane things, knew that she wouldn't be able to go any faster than that. The Shinx, although knowing she failed her challenge, still ran at the same speed. Soon, the Fletchling ran into another Pokemon, which, though Arashi couldn't tell, looked like a Sentret. They both were knocked to the ground, and she ran over as fast as she could.
The blue coated Pokemon soon got over to Brian and Arie, who was now standing up. "Are you OK? That looked like it may have hurt." Arashi looked at the Flechling, hoping that she was OK.

| "Quick Attack?" she blinked, mind still blank. However, as she focussed on what the Chimchar had said it all began to make sense and her brown eyes lit up with not-so-subtle joy. Furling her wings for a moment, she grinned confidently as the Shinx asked if she was alright.
"Alright? I'm awesome!" Arie cheered, unfurling her wings and making a few short motions that would have looked almost like punching the air in front of her if she hadn't had wings and feathers instead of paws. "There's no question that I'm the fastest now!" she laughed, taking off from the ground and glancing to her friend and rival mischievously.
"I wanna try that again!" chirruped the Fletchling, flying in a short circle before suddenly returning to a hover in front of her friends. She paused, some of the energy seeming to drain from her body all of a sudden as she spotted the Sentret that she had collided into and subsequently forgotten about in her excitement.
Darting over to the Sentret, Arietta landed next to it and began dipping her head to the wild pokemon apologetically. "I'm so sorry I didn't mean to run into you like that Mr. Sentret," she apologised, not wanting to get off on the wrong foot with the new face due to her carelessness.

| "Well, you are pretty fast. Wouldn't say you're the fastest, but hey, the Quick Attack helps." Brian said, smirking as he did so. He was somewhat surprised by the snarkiness in his own remark, not having said something in a similarly in a long time. Though he assumed that it was just more of his competitive spirit coming out, showing that Arie was even better of a rival then he thought. To him, Rivals are meant to challenge each other to improve their skills and become stronger as a result, something Brian valued in the highest order. He hoped that she felt the same way about this, or at least similarly as it would mean she'd be improving more. Regardless if she did or not, at least Arie was happy about her new found move.
"I'm pretty sure she didn't mean it. If you're hurt, we could probably scrap some items together to heal you." He said to the wild Pokemon Arie was apologizing to, hoping that it wasn't hurt or mad at his feathered friend.

| "Are you kidding me, Brian?" Arashi exclaimed, her excitement not being able to contain itself, "She's definitely the fastest now! Quick Attack, oh, how I wish I had that move! I would be able to explore even faster!" The Shinx got lost in thought, not paying attention the the Sentret that Arie had flew into. Once the others had talked to the Sentret, Arashi's trance was broken.
"Oh, what?" She looked back to the Pokemon, "Oh, yeah, she didn't mean to. She didn't even know what was happening even while it was happening, I think. I can't tell, but I'm pretty sure." The Shinx's blue and black coat started to glow, and she, now a bit more careful, noticed it right away. "Well, it's angry." She said simply, "My fur's glowing, so it must be the Sentret, unless something else is out there."

| Arietta couldn't help but grin more at the snarky-ness of Brian's response. It didn't seem like he was going to give up yet, even if the young Fletchling did happen to have the advantage of Quick Attack in her possession. However, the Fletchling wasn't above soaking in Arashi's praise for a few moments, even if she didn't say anything to acknowledge it due to being preoccupied with the Sentret she had flown into. The Sentret hadn't said anything in response to the Fletchling's apologies and the support from Arie's friends, though it's facial expression seemed to suggest that those apologies weren't about to solve everything that Arie had done... or in this case, said. "I'm female," the Sentret muttered getting to her feet. The venom in her voice was evident even though she spoke quietly. Arietta recoiled quite suddenly, ceasing her apologetic bowing and taking a hesitant step away from the female Sentret as she realised what she'd done. "Eeeeeeep!" she chirruped, her voice a higher pitch than normal. She could tell by the Sentret's tone that her innocent mistake due to the lack of gender differences in the Sentret species had not gone down well with the victim of her Quick Attack. In fact she hadn't even been angry at Arie until she'd been referred to as 'Mr. Sentret', which appeared to be this particular individual's 'berserk button', so to speak. "I'm so sorry, Miss Sentret!" Arietta apologised in a rather flustered manner, resuming her apologetic bowing and even offering the Sentret an Oran berry she'd carried with her into Fallen Leaf Copse. The Sentret didn't accept the berry, but instead used her ringed tail to whack Arietta on the head. Now sat on the ground, clutching her head with her wings, Arie frowned, knowing she probably deserved it for assuming the Sentret's gender in the first place. Consequently, the Sentret looked rather proud of herself, standing with her paws on her hips (or as close as a Sentret can get to that position) with a mischievous grin. "If you ask next time maybe you won't get a bonk on the head," she chuckled, her anger having melted away after recovering her dignity with that small amount of payback. - Solilo carried out 2 launched of one Fallen Leaf Copse :

| When Brian overheard what was going on with the wild Pokemon, he couldn't help but laugh. He hasn't really know the gender himself but seeing Arie get bonked on the head like that was still pretty funny. He normally would be against his friends getting hurt, but he knew that there wasn't any real harm being done. With that in mind, he felt like his laughter was more justified."Hahaha...oh man, that was funny..." Brian said, still snickering a little. While this was happening however, the group was unknowingly being watched by even more wild Pokemom, this time not so friendly... | |

| Arashi chuckled a bit when the Sentret hit Arie over the head with her tail. After that, the Shinx's fur had stopped glowing, now sensing no more danger around. "Well, now that we've dealt with that situation, more of less, we should probably get going." Arashi beamed at the other two, "I mean, this forest isn't going to explore itself!" Arashi was bouncing with excitement, brown, yellow and orange leafs lifting from the ground slightly and floating back down. | |

| Arietta uttered another quiet apology to the Sentret with a small smile of amusement, before she got back to her feet once more. At least she'd been able to solve this misunderstanding without much conflict - Arie much preferred friends than enemies after all.
Grinning back to Arashi as she repeated something that Arie had said earlier, the young Fletchling cried out, "Alright let's get going!" Before she could act any further on her words however, a Teddiursa leaped out of the undergrowth, it's defensive stance suggesting that it was wary of the group present. Arie noticed that the Shinx's fur had begun to glow ever so slightly with a pale electricity, as if sensing that the Teddiursa meant Arashi and the others harm.
The Teddiursa yelled something that sounded vaguely like a name, and began to charge towards the three explorers. It's body began to glow a very bright white, changing it's shape as it drew closer to them. When the bright light cleared, it was revealed to have evolved into an Ursaring. Angry because it thought the three explorers presented a danger to it's friend, the newly evolved Ursaring roared loudly and began to swipe with powerful claws at those nearest to it.
Arietta, already back in the air, attempted to use Quick Attack again, wanting the extra speed to cross the distance between herself and the Ursaring. The large bear-like pokemon had been aiming for Arashi, and having not known the Shinx for very long Arie was unsure of her strengths. Doing her best to protect her new friend, the Fletchling launched herself towards the Ursaring and blocked it's path towards the Shinx. Arie used Quick Guard, erecting a pale red barrier in front of herself with a flick of her wing. The Ursaring's Slash move collided with the barrier, and for a short moment it looked like it would deflect it entirely; but Quick Guard wasn't made for defending against this type of move, and Arietta wasn't the strongest of pokemon to begin with.
The red barrier shattered like tiny pieces of glass, falling from the air and dancing across the ground before they disintegrated entirely. The Ursaring's Slash followed through, hitting Arie instead of Arashi and knocking the young Fletchling out of the air where she proceeded to crash forcefully into the ground nearby.

| "You got a point. We should get back to doing what we do." Brian said, agreeing with Arashi in that they should continue the exploration. However, before they got a chance to move, a Teddiersa appeared out of nowhere and yelled some name. Before he could say anything, Brian witnessed the Teddiersa evolve, with such suddenness that no one could have seen it coming. "What the...Jerry? What's happening to you?" The Sentret said, with a look of fear on her face. "Wait, Jerry? Is that who this guy is?" Brian asked trying to get clarification about this whole situation. "Yes, he's my friend, but he can be very protective of me. He would usually get worried when seeing me with strangers, but this has never happened..." She said, her voice sounding much more fearful then before.
Before he could ask her anything else, the Teddiersa finished it's evolution and became an Ursaring, his eyes seemingly searing with anger. It started to attack his friend, Arie taking a major hit in the process. "That guy is out of control. I've gotta do something..." He said, wondering what the Sentret would think about this. Even if he was going insane, the Ursaring was apparently friends with her, so something else might be going on here. However, he was hurting his friends, so Brian had to do something. "Listen...tell your friend that I'm sorry when he gets back to his senses." Brian said to the Sentret before charging in and Scratching the Ursaring. It didn't do too much, but it gained the attention of the Bear Pokemon, now charging after Brian and away from the injured Arie.

| Arashi had already started to move when a disturbance had appeared in the situation. She watched as the Teddiursa hopped out of the foliage nearby, looking angry. It had yelled something that sounded like a name, but she couldn't be sure. The Pokemon started to glow pure white while it charged, at her no less. When it got halfway to the Shinx, who was paralyzed from shock, it turned into an Ursaring. Arie had used Quick Attack to get there quicker and then tried to protect Arashi with Quick Guard, which failed since it doesn't work on moves like Slash. Arashi watched, powerless, as Arie was knocked into a tree by the Ursaring's Slash attack. Brian had even scratched the beast, but Arashi was as still as stone.
When the Bear Pokemon had charged at Brian, Arashi snapped into action. The only problem, she didn't know if she should tend to Arie, or help Brian take down the Ursaring. On one hand, she would be loyal to a new friends, and on the other, she would have a challenge and a fight. She looked back over to Brian, and the back to Arie, and nodded her head in decision. She ran straight for the tree that Arie had been knocked into.

| Arietta blinked from where she had been knocked unconscious for a few moments and used one wing to attempt to shakily push herself from the forest floor. Her gaze still seemed to be a little blurry as she scanned the area and saw Arashi heading towards her. The Shinx was safe at least, even if her attempt to defend her new friend had been rather reckless. Spotting Brian shortly after, Arie registered what was going on and her vision seemed to clear.
The Fletchling pushed herself to her feet with some considerable effort. She had known the Ursaring would be strong as it would not have evolved in the first place if it wasn't, but at the same time she couldn't let one Ursaring stand in the way of their attempts to solve the forest's puzzles.
"I'm alright, Arashi," she commented, frowning to herself as she dusted herself down and dug something out of a tiny bag she carried. She flashed a small smile to the Shinx before taking the opportunity to wolf down a blue Oran berry. She had come prepared this time, just in case something of this nature were to happen. Arie wasn't sure if it truly revitalised her, or just acted like a placebo, but after ingesting the unique berry she couldn't help but feel rejuvenated, even after the huge hit that the Ursaring - Jerry - had dealt.
Testing her wings gently, she deemed them uninjured enough to still fly and hovered in place. "You ready to jump in there?" Arie asked the Shinx with a positive grin, though underlying that was a determined look in her eyes. As she asked, she indicated to where the Ursaring was chasing Brian. A single nod or answer from Arashi would trigger the Fletchling's charge back towards the Ursaring. She wasn't down and out yet; she had more cards to play. As long as she and the others could avoid the Ursaring's powerful hits, they could still win this and calm the Sentret's friend down.
Said Sentret, meanwhile, had taken to shouting at the Ursaring, trying to get him to calm down. But it seemed as if the Teddiursa's evolution had caused it to inexplicably lose all reason, to the point where it couldn't hear his closest friend's words through the haze of emotion that had brought on the evolution to begin with.

| As the others regrouped, Brian continued running away with the Jerry the Ursaring still following him. He looked behind him to see that Arashi was next to Arie who seemed to be okay despite getting hit by a powerful attack. Knowing this, he felt that it would be much easier to take the raging bear Pokemon on. Everything is always better when companions are around, especially when it came to battles like this. Besides, despite being confident in his strength, Brian didn't know if he could overpower the Ursaring by himself. So instead of going straight in for some damage, he took a different route.
"Alright Jerry, let's see if you can keep up." Brian said before using Double Team, creating multiple clones of himself that began jumping and dashing all over the place. Jerry slashed at them, but missed the majority, getting a little bit confused in the process. Now Brian hoped that his comrades would come in and help out, maybe deal some damage.

| Arashi knew that Brian would be able to handle the Ursaring, apparently named Jerry, for a bit on his own. He had an obvious look of strength on his face. That was why Arashi had turned toward her other companion first. But when she got there, it seemed she was A-OK, and her suspicions were confirmed by Arie a moment later. "I'm glad to hear it!" The Shinx replied cheerfully, looking back at the battle going on behind her. "I hope Brian is still going strong." The blue coated Electric type looked back at the Fletchling, who just asked if she was ready to join the battle. "I was born ready! Everything that's a challenge was made for me!" Arashi said with a grin on her face, ready to charge into battle. - Suds carried out 1 launched of one Fallen Leaf Copse :
