The copse's secrets

Jak {13} ^{-11 from entry}
After recently returning from his trip to the Silent Temple ^{Monochrome Ruins} Jak decided to walk around town before entering after his long journey. He was not yet ready to go back to town. It has probably been a good day or two since he got back from the temple..

He is currently west of Grass Veil. He felt as if something was calling him that day. He decided to wander around the area's just outside of town. He had no clue what was calling him. He had no sense of direction of where it was coming from. At some point in time he noticed a large lake. It had a vibrant display of colors from orange to yellow. The colors of autumn. "Wow... That is beautiful." he said as he walked towards the lake. The feeling of being called got a little stronger as he did. He took notice. He looked further out in the lake to see an island covered in with many trees of different colors that was expected during fall.

He took notice of the stones further along the side of the lake that led to the center. They seemed to be placed just close enough together to be used to jump across to the island. He decided that this would be a great chance to explore somewhere new. He walked towards the stones and looked at the water and back at the stones. He knew if he had fallen into the water it would be big trouble. The charmander grinned and decided he would take the chance. He started jumping from stone to stone across the lake eventually he got the the center where the island was located. It was far more beautiful there then he had expected. All the colors of fall were there. Even if it wasn't the time of the season yet.

"What is this place...." he said to himself.

Jak {21} ^{+15 from sitrus berry}
Jak was feeling a bit drained from the earlier storm. He decided it would be a good idea to have the last of his sitrus berries. He knew that if there was anything ahead he would need it pretty badly.

He looked at Noel. He could tell she was excited even if she had not said anything.
There was a bend in the path up ahead. He took a moment to go over his items in case they were needed. He then decided to pull a blast seed from the bag and held onto it just in case. He also felt the need to wrap the trap scarf around him again. He felt a bit safer in it somehow.

Noel walked onward until she felt something around them. She grabs her blast seed from her bag and throws it at the tree which she felt the presence and ended up hitting a Sentrent dead on and knocked it backwards. She then dashed over and smashed the Pokemon with a force Palm and knocked it away and into another tree. She then felt a presence again and jumped back to avoid a wind coming from a flying Pokemon behind her and rolled on the ground then stood straight.

Jak looked to see the flying pokemon was a Dustox.
As he went to close the space between the other pokemon and himself. He saw a Teddiursa walk in between him and the dustox completely unaware of the battle unfolding somehow. He immediately recognized that it was the same one that gave them the items. He knew it was not hostile. However he did not want any harm to come to the pokemon. He shouted to it to grab its attention and he pointed towards the Dustox.

The cub pokemon looked at the dustox and back at Jak. The Dustox then released some stun spore. Jak dashed towards the cub pokemon and leapt of it right into the stun spore. The cub pokemon looked at him as he took the hit from the stun spore. The spore dispersed as he flew threw it.

Just before the effects of the stun spore took hold of him he reached in his bag for the cheri berry he found at some point. He then immediately fell to the ground with the berry starting to roll away. He groaned. He looked towards the cub pokemon to see it was fine. However it dashed over to the berry and grabbed it and ran back towards Jak. It then put it in his mouth. It nodded and ran off.

Jak bit down on the berry and slowly recovered from his paralysis. He looked towards noel to see how she was doing.

Noel turns around and looks for a weapon. She then smirked as she grabbed a large branch that had dropped when the windstorm came and she picked it up. She then spun around a bit before throwing it at the flying Pokemon which caught it completely off guard and slammed it away from the area and onto the ground as Noel smirked. "That's what you get for messing with children" Noel said with a large smirk on her face

Jak coughed a little bit from the stun spore he had previously inhaled.
"I hate stun spore..." He said as he brushed the dirt off himself. He had a couple scratched from where he landed on. Nothing serious at all.

"Did that little guy get away?" He asked Noel. He sort of was lost when all that action had occurred.
He noticed that the pokemon was no where near. He sighed with relief. He was sure it was ok.

He looked around the area to see if anything lied near. He sighed as he could not find anything. He seemed to be a bit slower then usual. Possibly the stun spore still effecting him in some way at the moment. The cheri berry is probably still taking effect.

Noel smiled. "Ya it does suck badly" she said as she looked at him for a second. "You good?" She asks slightly confused as to why he was cut from landing in the ground. She shrugged this away as she looked to where she had launched that pokemon.

"Yup I'm sure" she said with a smirk as she looked around for anything she could use at the time. She couldn't find anything that stood out so she swore under her breath and looked at Jak. Better get moving. She said as she started walking onward

"I am good" he responded as he moved he felt the scratches from where he had landed on. "Ouch... That does sting a little." he said. "I am good though." He said with a smile. The scratches were not bad at all. They had a slight sting to them.

"Yea we should get going" he agreed. He started walking along the pathway with Noel. He looked along the sides of the path as they walked. He did not see much activity around for a bit.

Noel walked but then stopped for a moment to think. Why was her mother here or was it her mother at all? She had no idea what happened she might of been imagining the whole thing Jak didn't see her did her? "Hey can we stop for a second my mind is messing with me, using Aura sometimes does that" she lied just wanting to get her thoughts straight.

She looked at the sky and then to the ground. How would she know if it was her mother. She had no idea and her brain hurt to try and process it

Jak looked at Noel as she stopped. She stated that she wanted to take a moment because her mind was messing with her. "Sure..." he said however he noticed it looked like something was troubling her. He took a moment to think what could of been the problem. He then remember that he saw a figure appear in front of her during that wind storm as it had passed when she was chasing that scarf. He did not question because if that was the reason. It might prove she had lied about the reason. Although he did not know what aura can or cannot do so he would not know if it could do that. So he simply waited for a bit. He kept an ear out for anything nearby.

He heard nothing, not even the wind.

Noel looked ahead as she felt something. She felt something coming and she didn't know what but the wind suddenly picked up faster then before. She covered her face as he bag slips away and lands with a loud crash. Noel looks at it before jumping back knowing what item just crashed. "Move Jak" she said as she back up as pokemon started to surround the area. The wind strangely stopped with this action.

Jak noticed the wind also and braced for something. Then Noel's bag slipped and fell. Hearing something shatter. She then said to Jak to move. He quickly jumped away and only to see that the entire area was surrounded by pokemon. "We are surrounded on all sides." he stated as the two beautiflies and the silcoon shot a web at both of them from the three different directions. The Deer pokemon started charging towards them from the last side. Jak attempted to jump out of the way of the string but got caught slightly. The deer slammed into him as he got caught.

"Gah!" the wind was knocked out of him. He coughed slightly. He built a flame and extinguished it sending a large amount of smoke around the area to cover them.

Noel smirked as she walked forward. "Some Pokemon just never learn do they" Noel said as she got into a fighting stance. One of the flying Pokemon tried to attack her by shooting a sting at her. Both sides hit her arm's as they tried to pull the Lucario. She instead wrapped her paw around the string and pulled them both towards her. They slammed into each other as Noel pulled back and hit both if them with a quick force Palm.

"Bad idea to try and out power a fighting type." She said as she thrusts her paw out and launched a large Psychic wave right at her opponents. They managed to get out of the way the flying type going up and the Silcoon going to it's side.

Jak got back up and he shot embers towards the deer like pokemon after he had recovered from the hit. The deer was left with some scorch marks on it. He then charged towards it and scratched its side as he built another flame. ^{Note: He still uses scratch attack and not dragon rage in this thread... He learns it in a later thread that had occurred.}

The deer pokemon fell to the side after the scratch attack. He waited to see if the pokemon was done before he would launch his Will-O-Wisp at it. It seemed like it was out for the count now. It did not want to get back up. Although it was not knocked out.

He noticed one of the beautifly got close to him so he unleashed the built up flame at the closest one leaving a vicious burn on its wings. It fell to the ground in the process.

Noel focused for a moment before closing her eye's and getting in a fighting stance. The two Pokemon that had charged at her now shot the same sting at her. She dodged the first one with perfect timing and then the second one the same, she then stopped and grabbed both strings and pulled them towards her. The two Pokemon slammed into each other as Noel lowered her paw and uppercuted hem away from her. They landed on the ground where they stayed. "And stay down" Noel said with a smirk.

Jak watched Noel knock the last two pokemon to the ground after grabbing the string they shot. They seemed to be down for the count at the moment as they did hit the ground pretty hard. He couldn't tell from his distance though. He walked up to Noel to see if she needed any assistance however he did not ask as it seemed she was ok.

When the battle was over, "Do you think we should start heading back. It is starting to get late. I believe we are close enough to town to get back slightly after nightfall. We can even resupply." Jak asked Noel as he looked towards the sky. It was getting close to sunset.
