A lovely day in the Pecha Forest - Page 4 Empty
PostSubject: A lovely day in the Pecha Forest   A lovely day in the Pecha Forest - Page 4 EmptySun Oct 26, 2014 9:22 pm

First topic message reminder :

What a great day. The sun was shining, it was almost noon and the Pecha Forest was very calm.

How boring. There was nothing at all exciting going on. How did Sova let himself willingly go to such a boring place? He'd been here plenty before too, it's not like it was new for him. But William wanted to have a peaceful day.... The eevee had been in so much danger lately, he didn't object to being able to relax and get to know this gengar much. Still, it was a very boring place to be. Maybe something exciting would happen. Then again, every time he wished for something exciting, he got his excitement and then some.... Perhaps learning to not have a constant death wish would be beneficial. Maybe a boring and relaxing day in the Pecha Forest would be healthy.

"So, what do you wanna do?" He asked the gengar, who was probably much more happy to be here.

"Maybe you should stop trying while you are in a state like this. Get your poison cured and then we could continue. Right now it is only going to get worse. And the longer you wait to cure it, the longer it will take for you to recover."
It really was no surprise that Sova was having this much trouble with his Shadow Ball attack. Normal types were immune against the Ghost type. They usually lacked the very mindset neccessary to control and utilize an attack of this sort.
"Maybe we should try some easier targets first? Tiny and moving targets right at the beginning would be a bit much for anyone I believe."

PostSubject: Re: A lovely day in the Pecha Forest   A lovely day in the Pecha Forest - Page 4 EmptyTue Nov 11, 2014 11:03 pm

Sova stayed silent, partly because the poison was beginning to really burn his body and partly because he didn't have any way to defend himself. What he was doing was stupid and there was no way he'd ever be able to hit such a small target, even if he wasn't poisoned, even if he had practice with Shadow Ball. His confidence in himself was dwindling away all in a few moments and there didn't seem to be anything he could do about it. To make matters worse, he was also proving William completely right and making himself look very weak in comparison. Maybe he was just destined to be weak.

These thoughts changed the eevee's mindset a bit. He stopped thinking about impressing William and improving his own skill. The only goals he had were hitting something just for the sake of hitting something and proving the gengar who didn't think he could do it wrong.

"Shut up and throw!" He yelled abruptly.

So now the Eeveew was getting angry. He had moved from the first stage of grief - denial - to the second stage, which was aggression. Hopefully he would reach acceptance sooner than the poison would reach vital parts of the Normal type's biology. After all the best Shadow Ball was useless if you weren't in the physical shape to use it.
But for now he would have to present the Eevee with some more evidence of this problem. Now picking up twigs instead and throwing them, he was presenting the Normal type with larger, slower-moving targets. If Sova would continue to miss these as well, then eventually he would just have to admit that he really wasn't in any condition to continue training.
However Sova also needed to calm down. Anger increased blood flow and increased blood flow meant faster spreading of the poison.

PostSubject: Re: A lovely day in the Pecha Forest   A lovely day in the Pecha Forest - Page 4 EmptyTue Nov 11, 2014 11:25 pm

Before the first twig was even in the air the pain from the poison had almost doubled since Sova had last spoken. This made it difficult to even focus on the moving targets. Of course, he missed again, this time by even more. Directly afterwards, he stumbled, almost falling. Exhaustion and poison were both getting to him quickly. For a moment he considered just giving up and collapsing. But that would be just prove to himself that he was weak. As the next twig flew through the air, all he cared about was hitting it. It wasn't to impress anyone, he just had to prove to himself that he could do it. The only other option was being haunted by the thought of the terrifying hallucination he'd had on Blackmist. It would surely haunt his thoughts for as long as he couldn't prove it wrong.

He took a breath, completely ignoring the poison. He then began focusing on creating a shadow ball, but this one was....different. He actually felt the negative emotions he was feeling empowering it. It was actually a bit scary of a feeling to him. But now he had to hit it. Wasting no time, he fired the ball of shadowy goodness and....it made contact with the twig flying through the air, pretty much disintegrating it.

Now Sova was getting worse and worse. This was not good. He would have to get out of here soon before the poison would be able to do any permanent damage.
Luckily however he kept missing even the twigs, so he would be running out of excuses soon.
And then he would- and then the unthinkable happened. The Eevee was so intoxicated - litterally - that he was now actually able to hit the twig. It made sense actually.
He may have been able to charge the pain of the poison and the frustration of failure into a Shadow Ball and thus actually have attacked successfully.
"So, you have succeeded. Can we now please get out of here?"

Sova shuttered from the poison. "N-no, you started throwing sticks because you don't think I can hit the rocks! So go back to throwing rocks until I can hit them perfect! I don't care if I'm hurt...." He muttered the last part, mostly just to himself, and waited for the gengar to go back to throwing the rocks. Hitting a stick wasn't good enough, he could have just gotten lucky. It was also a bigger target. He had to be perfect with Shadow Ball before he could stop. He came to learn how to hit Shadow Ball and that's what he intended to do. Even if it killed him.

"I don't think you can hit anything right now.", William explained.
"True, a Shadow Ball channels pain, hatred and fear, but to master a Shadow Ball you need to be able to control it, not to let them run rampant. If that happens, then you might cause serious injury to yourself. And you don't want to train Shadow Ball the wrong way and have to unlearn it again, do you?"
Maybe the Eevee would at least listen to this. The prospect of learning a wrong, weaker version of this attack might be able to dissuade even the Normal type from continuing with this dangerous pursuit for now. Hopefully. If not, then the Eevee was in even more serious trouble.

PostSubject: Re: A lovely day in the Pecha Forest   A lovely day in the Pecha Forest - Page 4 EmptyWed Nov 12, 2014 10:39 pm

(LOST reference incoming)

"Don't tell me what I can't do! I'll get this perfect TODAY!" Sova exclaimed before grabbing up a rock with his teeth, since paws aren't all that useful for throwing. If William wasn't going to help him train he'd just have to do it himself.

He tossed the rock into the air at a lower angle than William could have managed. After a moment to focus all of the negativity he was feeling into another Shadow Ball, he fired it at the rock and actually hit it. He was so relieved and proud that he wanted to jump for joy....but the poison and exertion of energy had weakened him to he point that jumping was a difficult task. In fact, his Shadow Balls would probably start missing again soon just because of the sheer amount of energy he was losing.

PostSubject: Re: A lovely day in the Pecha Forest   A lovely day in the Pecha Forest - Page 4 EmptyFri Nov 14, 2014 9:43 pm

So Sova had finally succeeded in hitting one of the rocks.
That was good as now hopefully he would allow for himself to leave this place, since he was in immediate need of medical treatment. Hopefully he would not insist on further training, as it was quite obvious that he was not in control of his emotions right now.
Anger, pain and hatred put under strict and concise control were a powerful offensive force.
Uncontrolled however they tended to do harm to the user at least as much if not even more harm than they would do the recipient. And if Sova would only learn to use this attack at times at which he had no control over himself, then he would only know of the unstable form, putting himself in quite some danger and additionally possibly barring him from the attack's true potential.

PostSubject: Re: A lovely day in the Pecha Forest   A lovely day in the Pecha Forest - Page 4 EmptySat Nov 15, 2014 2:56 am

Sova panted, struggling against the rapid onset of fatigue and quick spread of the poison. He at least hit the targets....but it didn't feel like enough. Two didn't prove anything, maybe he was just lucky. Just a few more would prove he was actually able to use Shadow Ball.... But that would have to wait until another day, for he seemed to forget how to stand for a moment as he was introduced to the ground. Then the world went black.

He opened his eyes only a few moments later and found himself lying on his side on the ground. It was easy to piece together that he had fainted. Though only for a few seconds, it was enough to snap him back into reality. He was poisoned and it was only going to get worse. In fact, it was probably too late to try and leave to get help....he'd have to find a Pecha berry, soon, or hope to overcome the poison naturally, which was very unlikely with his weak eevee body.

Now this was the last straw. Sova could complain all he wanted to, but it was high time to get the Normal type out of here. Quickly at that.
Poison was a powerful force and even though William had difficulties utilizing its offensive capacities, he was glad to have its defensive powers under his control, most importantly an immunity against becoming poisoned, just as it had happened with Sova.
"Say what you want. I'm getting you out of here.", the Gengar spoke while attempting to pick up the Normal type to remove him from the Mystery Dungeon and to get him into the care of someone who would hopefully be capable of preventing the poison from doing any damage. Any further damage if they were unlucky.

For a moment, Sova thought about just letting the gengar take him away. But then he reminded himself that he was in the Pecha forest. Surely he could cure the poison more quickly here. He leaped, or stumbled in this case, to his feet and ran in a random direction away from William, figuring talking wouldn't do much good. Besides, it would just be a drain of his energy. Surely the gengar wouldn't care if he said he was worried about how long it would take to get to Grassveil. He just needed one Pecha berry and would probably be able to find one within a minute here.

Could he even run for a minute in this state? Maybe not, but he felt he had to try.

And of course Sova just had to run away.
On the one hand William should have an easy time catching him as the Eevee was tired and drained, while William still was at almost full energy, not poisoned and capable of levitation and passing through solid matter such as trees.
On the other hand each and every second that passed, especially one with an accellerated blood flow caused by things as running would make Sova's situation worse. And considering how bad it had already become there wasn't much time left to get this Normal type away from here.
Sighing the Gengar found himself reminded of the peak of Blackmist Mountain.
This would be...very...entertaining.

Sova was forced to stop for a moment as he almost tripped. Over what? Nothing. Exhaustion was seriously getting to him, running around in this state was a stupid idea. So, instead of slowing down or stopping, he decided it would be best to go faster with Quick Attack. What a genius idea. Couldn't possibly go wrong.

There was no way he would be able to stay away from the gengar long enough to find a berry otherwise, so he felt there was no other choice. Narrowly avoiding a few trees, he ran through the forest in no particular direction.

Believing for the Eevee to maybe stop and look for his pursuer or to otherwise not be able to flee as well, William descended into the ground, now pursuing the Eevee from below. Obviously he would easily be able to capture the Normal type, but the connsiderable strain the Eevee was placing on himself would not do his poisoning any good.
Just why did Sova keep going despite obviously and urgently needing help? Who was it he was so desperately trying to prove something towards and what?
Whatever it was, it wouldn't change the fact that soon the Eevee would have serious difficulty proving anything but his own idiocy as there was no way he could keep going for much longer with this venom coursing through his blood vessels.
