Bugging Mirage Via Dex the Joltik

The zorua sighed as she approached the mire, bored, lost, and hoping for someone to steal from.  She blinked as she looked over the strange cattails and tall grass, and witnessed the water reflect their movements as the wind blew across them. This place seemed pretty calm, but looks were usually deceiving. She wanted to stir up some trouble in this seemingly calm area. She looked to the water that touched the ground she stood on, she would need to swim at some point. She did not mind though, it was just a bit of water. It was not like it was mud and would get her dirty! Mirage slipped into the water and swam her way towards the next island in the mire, where the land would suddenly rise up and allow pokemon like her to receive a break from the swimming. Mirage huffed, not a soul in sight as far as she saw. Nobody to steal from...

After the short cuddle was over, Dex noticed Mirage coming closer. The Wooper and Quagsire also seemed to notice, and they turned to face her, the Wooper still grinning and the Quagsire still relaxed. The Zorua's facial expression made Dex make a similar one himself. Dex hoped this meant that she wanted to join him and the Wooper family. The more the merrier!

"Hi again Mirage! Want to join us?" Dex squeaked. "These guys are reeeeeaaaally friendly."

"Sure! Sure!" Mirage smiled, though rather painfully since she wanted to take the item and leave now. She began to calculate what she would need to do, she needed that quagsire's head to go a bit lower. The only way she could achieve lowering the quagsire's head was through a game of sort, she would need to do it in a "Friendly" way. Perhaps a group tackle hug on the quagsire, as much as she would hate it, would work? Her tail flicked in thought as she planned and acted at the same time, a difficult thing to do, but she had years of practice under her belt.

The Wooper made a happy noise at the fact that Mirage was going to play with them, and Dex made one, too. "Okay then." Dex squeaked. "I dunno what they want to do, and I can't decide, so how about you pick?" The Quagsire nodded slightly in her relaxed fashion and made a slight humming sound as if she agreed. The Wooper's mouth hung open, focuses on Mirage's swishing tail. Dex waited for Mirage to come up with something. He was sure this would be much more fun with the Zorua joining them. What could go wrong? he wondered.

"How about....we play a game of dogpile?" She suggested, "its where we jump on the biggest pokemon in the area and hug them!" Mirage didn't exactly feel sick about suggesting this, but merely felt childish and rather immature. She wanted that TM though, now.
"Ready? Set! Jump on Quagsire!" she commanded, pointing to the quagsire with what seemed like good humor. She hoped that they would enjoy this new game, so that perhaps she could use it even more in the future. If these pokemon liked it then surely other young and dopey pokemon like this would as well. Mirage's tail stopped swishing as she commanded them to tackle hug the quagsire, as if she were so excited that her tail stopped moving and puffed out a bit. Body language was key to lying in her opinion.

Dex was happy with Mirage's game decision. He remembered the times way back when he and his siblings would pile up for various reasons, sometimes to share static electricity and sometimes just for some fun. The fact he could get a hug was also a plus. "Okay Mirage! Sounds like a plan!" Dex squeaked. He did his best to jump from the baby Wooper to the mother Quagsire and did so successfully but didn't think of the consequences of going first. The thought of being squished never crossed his young mind.

Mirage leaped for the quagsire as the others did, she aimed a bit higher and "hugged" the pokemon's face as she grabbed the TM from the head of the Quagsire, quickly stuffing it into her makeshift pocket. This TM would surely become useful in the future, be it selling it, using it, or even giving it away to a friend, which would have to be a dang important friend for Mirage to just give away an item like that. This was TM TOXIC, a move where the target is poisoned, the poison would spread throughout the body and grow stronger as the time would pass. The move nearly guaranteed an instant win to those interested in such things.

Dex didn't expect Mirage to jump so high, and the Wooper ended up jumping at about the same time the fox did. The dopey blue Pokemon ended up landing right on Dex, but luckily the Quagsire's stretchy skin caused the Joltik to sink in a bit and not be squished. The pile of Pokemon on the mother Quagsire caused it to tip over, it's back landing in the shallow water, causing a small splash around. The young Wooper laughed happily and likely would of clapped in delight if it had any actual hands. Dex crawled out from under the Wooper. "That was fun, wasn't it, Mirage? Can we do it again?"

Mirage had swiftly snagged the TM and hidden it in her joy ribbon. She smiled angelically, "Yeah it was, but i'm getting a bit tired sadly, I don't work out much and all the running from the beast from earlier made me exhausted!" She weaved her web of lies as she laid down, seemingly tired. It was a perfectly reasonable excuse, and for once she was not annoyed with becoming wet. After all, it had gotten her a TM she could sell for a valuable price or perhaps use one day. The zorua flicked her tail, since it was normal of her to do so and keeping up normal habits was key to making it appear as if everything was normal.

"Awww..." Dex said. He didn't want to stop playing with the Wooper family, but it wasn't as fun with Mirage resting. He felt kinda bad after buying all of the fox's lies. He was full of youthful energy, and seeing Mirage worn out made Dex kind of sad. He wanted to see the Zorua happy, so he decided to crawl up next to her after another hug from the small family. He still had the gummi he picked up earlier, and her scuttled up in front of Mirage's head and placed it in front of her at a distance close enough that if Mirage stretched out a bit she could reach it without having to pick it up with a paw.

"Here, eat this," Dex said. "Maybe it'll get you a bit more energy." He smiled warmly, like the outlaw Zorua was a good friend of his already.

"No thank you, I couldn't possibly take your item!" Mirage spoke, not caring for the joltik's gummi and not wanting to have to be questioned on why she wasn't more rejuvenated once she ate the gummi. In all honesty though, Mirage actually would have felt bad at a smallest and microscopic degree. The joltik wasn't the brightest of pokemon, and seemed to be completely ignorant of the world around him, bringing innocence. It would be like stealing candy from an egg, as much as Mirage liked doing that though. The difference to her between an egg and this joltik was the egg wouldn't care, it wouldn't even know and would never know. The joltik however, was the complete opposite.

Dex sighed. "Well, okay then. I can't force you to take it..." the Joltik said, a bit disheartened that Mirage still wouldn't accept his gift. Still, he didn't just want to sit around and do nothing. He wanted to continue to explore the area, but Mirage was tired, and he didn't want her to continue without energy. He knew most Pokemon didn't work at full potential when tired.

Finally, Dex decided he was going to go on without Mirage, at least until she was rested. "I'm going to go a bit ahead. When you're feeling better, be sure to find me," he said, hoping Mirage would do just that. "It's been fun so far!" With that, Dex headed off a bit into the distance. A fog was rolling in, and the Joltik noticed. He decided this phenomenon would be known as Ground-Clouds, and he continued off into it. What he didn't know was that something was waiting within it...

A rather grumpy croagunk made its way around the fog, it hadn't been able to sleep for days thanks to a pokemon it had battled before's worry seed. The croagunk would begin to worry about every little thing as soon as it would even attempt to sleep.
Mirage watched the joltik leave as the fun seemed to be done, and got up when everyone seemed to be gone. This was perfect, she could continue on her way through this mess of a place and head to the deeper parts, maybe some more victims lay in wait there...
