The Raging Beast Within

It was a quiet afternoon and Violet was sat on a tree stump in a corner of her dojo's sandy training room as she awaited the gyarados who had requested her next scheduled session. She was doing some last minute reading, flicking through the old and worn pages of a book as she attempted to brush up on techniques that would help one to channel their rage into a controllable attack. She hadn't taught the move Outrage before, though she knew almost everything about it, so this would be a first for her. However, she knew how dangerous it was to try and teach rage and anger based moves, and so wanted to make sure that she had every little scrap of knowledge available to her, lest something go wrong...

At the last moment, Proteus's gaping jaws took on a dark aura. He opened his large mouth that could probably swallow a rhyhorn whole with ease, and prepared a bite attack, aiming for the shell that was trying to reduce his attack power. He planned so that once he had gotten a hold of the shell, he would unleash a flamethrower upon the small oshawott. He was fine with using a flamethrower on the small being though, since the move would not be too effective against it.

Violet saw Proteus's change of move and quickly acted accordingly, using Copycat. However, instead of her own jaws taking on a dark aura, she channeled the attack into her scalchop, quickly performing an uppercut so that the shell that was now surrounded with a dark energy would counter rather than becoming trapped.

Proteus was struck with the surprise attack, and his instincts as a gyarados activated. He gave a bellow and reared his head back, unleashing a column of flames on the oshawott. He stopped his attack when he realized that he was acting on instinct like some wild animal and instead readied his tail to just smack the oshawott away if it came near to attack once more. Proteus had guessed that the spar with the oshawott fighting back was a better way to gauge his power. He thought of himself as moderately powerful, but nothing too special if at all.

As Proteus bellowed loudly, Violet quickly attempted to get out of his line of fire. She had dodged the attack, but only partially, the Flamethrower singing the lilac flower she wore behind her ear despite not doing much to her actual body.
Landing neatly on the ground, Violet looked over her shoulder at the red Gyarados, a small smirk upon her face. Replacing her scalchop on her chest for a moment, she raised a pale paw to the lilac positioned behind her ear and sighed.
"Well I guess i'd better find a new lilac," she frowned, plucking the singed one from behind her ear and looking at it with another small sigh. After another few moments, she tossed it over her shoulder and turned back to Proteus.

"That was better, but you're still holding back half of the time," she pointed out, taking her scalchop in paw once more, "Try again."

Proteus was beginning to grow frustrated, he was holding back? He was going all he could...at least without hurting the oshawott. The large gyarados's side fins on his head spread out as his head was beginning to raise. 'Alright, she wants full power? I'll give her full power!' he was growing both annoyed with himself and frustrated. How was he to join one of those so called rescue teams if he could not even carry his own weight!? He gave a bellow as a pillar of flame shot down from his mouth and towards the oshawott, bigger and brighter than before.

As the clearly more powerful attack was launched from the Gyarados' mouth, Violet stood still as it came towards her. She remained like this for a few short moments before parting her own jaws and launching a rush of water from them, taking the form of a Water Gun attack. Whilst the water type attack doused the closest flames, they could not extinguish the full attack due to the more powerful nature of Flamethrower. Thus, Violet used this time to quickly duck out of the way, the remains of the move instead hitting the ground and burning up the vegetation that grew there. Violet quickly put out the flames with another swift Water Gun before turning her attention back to Proteus. With quite some speed, she dashed towards the red gyarados's tail, using his scales as stepping stones as she climbed his long body.

Proteus resisted the urge to use bite, as the oshawott was probably nimble enough to just leap away and cause him to bite himself. Instead he thrashed his body about, trying to get rid of the annoyance on his back. He flailed his body back and forth harshly, accidentally knocking into a tree and uprooting it. The red gyarados cared not for the tree, as he had made it his focus to get this annoyance who's climbing was causing him to itch OFF OF HIM.

Violet continued climbing the Gyarados' back, using nimble leaps to avoid the flailing, as well as holding on to his pale, spiked fins. She was doing everything in her power to enrage her client, as anger was the key to using and learning the move Outrage. Of course, it was definitely dangerous to enrage someone like this without telling them why, but if Proteus knew why, the effect would be lessened quite drastically.
"I wish you wouldn't uproot the trees. It's rather barbaric of you," she commented, knowing that he couldn't help it due to his size, but hoping that it would annoy him to the point that he'd be angry enough for his flamethrower to become a full on Outrage attack.

Proteus managed to ignore the comment, but the annoyance was just becoming worse. He was too afraid of hurting himself to outright attack the Oshawott, but he tried to use a Water Pulse to knock the oshawott. The water gathered using the moisture in the air as Proteus shot a pulse of water towards the Oshawott, if it hit there would be a chance that the small pokemon would become confused and perhaps even cease this madness. The red monster held still long enough for the water pulse to attempt to reach the oshawott.

Violet watched as the Water Pulse formed before her eyes, the air's moisture gathering to form the attack. The Oshawott waited until the pulse was completely formed before she parted her own jaws and used Water Gun once more, offsetting the water that made up the Gyarados's move and negating it's effects. Taking her scalchop, she then began to tap at Proteus's scales with the shell.
"You are rather docile for a Gyarados," she blinked continuing to tap.

Proteus huffed in frustration, but he seemed to be trying to calm himself down. He loathed losing, that was probably the only trait of him that remained since evolving. When he had evolved he had come to the realization on just how moronic he had been in the past, and rather dumb when it came to advice. His evolution had caused an increase in his intelligence now that he was no longer just a dumb old fish...now he was just a LARGE dumb old fish. He tried to keep a cap on his anger, not wanting to be like his brethren who would usually murder everything in sight.

The Gyarados still wasn't responding to her taunts and generally irritating behaviour, and so Violet hopped up onto Proteus's head. As she did so, she used Tackle, leaping into the air in an uppercut-esque fashion before striking downwards with her scalchop right onto the red gyarados's cranium. It would likely give him quite the headache, despite his scales.

Proteus roared in pain as his noggin was knocked. He lowered his head as he waited for the pain to subside and threw back his head in rage as his instincts seized control once more. His teeth began to take on a dark aura and his movements became more reckless as he attempted to throw off the oshawott and bite it. With his usual self drowned by his powerful instincts he did not care for much, other than getting rid of this pest. Even then, the faucet of anger was only a minor stream compared to what the full blown blast could be..

Stubbornly, Violet held onto the red gyarados's head by clinging onto the deep red protrusion that sprouted from between his eyes. Slowly, but surely, Proteus seemed to be getting angrier. As his flailing continued, Violet used one pale paw to hold on whilst she continued tapping at his head with her scalchop, hoping that the resulting headache would just worsen his mood.

Every tap felt like a blow with an aggron's horn with the headache the tackle from before had caused. He began to attempt to ram his head into different objects in attempt to get rid of the tapping, his logic having gone out the window with his controlled self. He smashed his head into rocks and into trees, getting them caught on his head's protrusions and shaking them until they would be ripped free from the force. Though clinging on was still entirely possible since the oshawott could have easily hidden behind the protrusions.
