The Raging Beast Within

It was a quiet afternoon and Violet was sat on a tree stump in a corner of her dojo's sandy training room as she awaited the gyarados who had requested her next scheduled session. She was doing some last minute reading, flicking through the old and worn pages of a book as she attempted to brush up on techniques that would help one to channel their rage into a controllable attack. She hadn't taught the move Outrage before, though she knew almost everything about it, so this would be a first for her. However, she knew how dangerous it was to try and teach rage and anger based moves, and so wanted to make sure that she had every little scrap of knowledge available to her, lest something go wrong...

Proteus tentatively peeked through the massive entrance of the dojo, which was luckily just big enough for him to move through with only slight difficulty. He was relieved that the dojo was big enough for him to move around in, but he would have a bit difficulty in doing anything such as dodging without worrying about breaking a beam or a wall. Ever since he had evolved, his size had been nothing but an issue, although the new attacks he had learned were more helpful than splashing about. He just hoped the Oshawott would not stare in fear like all the pokemon in town square usually did...

Violet couldn't help but notice as the red Gyarados entered the dojo. Snapping the book she had been leafing through shut, she left it on the small table in the corner and walked over to the large creature.
"Afternoon," she smiled, not the least bit intimidated by the Gyarados, "Proteus, right?" she questioned, making sure she had the right name.
"I figure with your size, we ought to take this session outside," she smiled warmly. Though the dojo itself was rather large, learning an attack like Outrage was likely to be very destructive and she didn't particularly fancy having to rebuild her dojo already.

Proteus felt a bit humiliated needing to be taught by such a small pokemon that he could probably wipe out in one hit if he had been an evil pokemon, but pushed the humiliation aside. He was just learning something he could not learn normally and the small oshawott was the only way to do it. He followed the seemingly nice Oshawott, accidentally knocking his tail into a vase and knocking it on the ground. His reaction would have been similar to a Teecko's rapid fire bullet seed as he let loose the apologies.
"Sorry! Sorry! I'm so sorry! I apologize! Didn't mean to! Sorry!"
After all, what if the thing had been expensive and the oshawott made him pay for it?

Violet chuckled a little at the Gyarados' reaction to accidentally knocking a vase over. He might look big and scary, but Proteus really wasn't that scary when you weren't an enemy.
"It's fine," she chuckled, "I never liked that vase anyways. if anything it was just taking up space," she smiled cheerfully before wandering outside with the red Gyarados in tow. She decided she would clean it up later, rather than eat into the time that she could be using to help Proteus learn Outrage.

Proteus followed the oshawott outside, moving similar to a snake to make his way across the ground. He was unsure of just how the oshawott was going to show him, did Violet have some kind of special ability that could allow her to know any move she wanted that she could use at any time? The atrocious giant pokemon waited patiently, still feeling slightly guilty and nervous about the training. Would pokemon make fun of him because he had to go to the tutor? Surely needing a bit of help wasn't a bad thing, right?

"Alrighty then..." grinned Violet, considering different ways of how to start the Gyarados' training. Outrage was a move that, based on anger and rage, needed the user to be able to tap into their more negative emotions. Somehow, she would need to get this docile Gyarados to tap into that inner rage. She would need to rile him up, she just didn't know how.

"First, I need to judge your strength, so if you could demonstrate your current moveset for me, it'll make it easier," she smiled.

"Um...on what?" he asked, looking around. He saw a few nearby trees and large boulders, but the gyarados was unsure of whether or not the oshawott meant on the plant life, rocks, or the tiny oshawott herself. He did not want to hurt the oshawott, after all she was being nice to him. The Gyarados had to lean his huge face near the oshawott to hear the small creature, since his height was bigger than any pokemon in the area. The Gyarados had to do this frequently now, he was annoyed but he knew he would get used to it.

"Either on these large boulders, or on me. Whichever you're more comfortable with. I'd prefer the latter though since I can judge how much power there is behind the move that way," she smiled cheerfully, as if she wasn't talking to the largest creature to walk into her dojo thus far. Violet was surprisingly strong for someone so young, but it was her speed, which she had focused on honing as a younger child, that most stood her apart from others. She had confidence in her own abilities that if she could not counter or block a move then she could easily dodge it.

"Well...i-if you prefer it..." The gyarados stuttered in surprise that the oshawott would suggest him attacking the small creature. Proteus began with his simple tackle attack, charging his head towards the Oshawott, the small hesitant feeling in him grew and grew until he forced himself to miss on purpose. He could not hit the oshawott, "I-I'm sorry, I just don't like hitting others without reason..." he was embarrassed with himself once more, why was he being so nervous today?! He was usually okay with stuff like this. Was it because of the oshawott's size?

The Oshawott stayed perfectly still as the Gyarados charged towards her. She had planned on dodging just before the attack landed so that she could judge the amount of power there was behind the full body tackle. However, before she even had the opportunity to do so, Proteus had changed his trajectory, deliberately missing Violet. She blinked, confused for a moment, before nodding in understanding as the Gyarados spoke.
She shook her head with a small smile, "It's fine, just demonstrate on the rocks around here instead," she replied, her voice calm and her smile warm. It was surprising to see such a large creature be so concerned about such things.

Proteus looked around and found a decently big rock. He was satisfied with this, since it was just a rock. He tackled into the rock, causing it to be uprooted from the ground, since a good portion of it was buried, and caused a slight crack in it, not shattering it. He was still not powerful enough to shatter rocks with a mere tackle attack. Proteus then used bite on the rock, determined to make it crack, but that failed as well. He grew slightly annoyed and used Flamethrower, a tm move he had learned, followed by a water pulse, which did the trick. The rock finally split into two.

Violet blinked as the large red Gyarados continued to assault the same rock, until after a full demonstration of all four moves, the boulder finally cracked and split apart, leaving the Oshawott blinking. Proteus sure as hell had a lot of strength, but for a Gyarados he definitely was quite tame. Violet wondered if it would be as easy as she had hoped to get the Gyarados to become enraged and learn to use the full power of the Outrage move he sought to learn.
With a thoughtful look on her face, the Oshawott blinked before grinning and looking up at Proteus, "Alright. Looks like you're pretty powerful," she smiled, "But you're gonna have to get over that fear of attacking me. Cause otherwise you'll just lose. Now I want you to attack me as if I were a hostile pokemon."

Proteus was still reluctant, but did so anyways. He moved in for a Tackle attack, growing closer as he was enveloped by a white aura. The large red gyarados kept himself from chickening out, and continued to hurtle his massive body towards the Oshawott. He tried to put all of his force into the attack, but held back slightly still. His mind was still stuck on how the oshawott had done nothing to deserve this even if it wanted him to do so. He grew a bit disappointed in himself, he would probably never be able to achieve Outrage at this rate.

As Proteus charged towards Violet, the young Oshawott used her own Tackle move, her body glowing a bright white as she did so. Leaping at the red Gyarados, Violet used her scalchop as a medium to cushion the main force of Proteus' Tackle, whilst using the momentum from her own move in an attempt to counter it with enough force to get the Gyarados to use his full strength.
