| "Sounds like fun," smiled the Oshawott, before quickly draining her cup and placing it back down on the table that was tucked in the corner of the room. "Alright break's over," she grinned, re-positioning the lilac flower that was tucked behind her ear so that it didn't flop down and fall off, "We'd better get started with Magnet Rise. I might have you run another lap every half hour though," she chuckled, flashing a mischievous look toward the Pikachu as if wondering what his reaction would be. | |

| Nate quickly finished off his water as well once he heard that their break was over, and chuckled in response to Violet's latter instructions. "Right, yeah. I won't hold you to that if you forget about it." He commented wryly, thinking about how he would learn to use the move and what it entailed. Honestly, he hadn't done his research on it too much and thus had no idea what it would or should feel like, or how he would figure it out. The Pikachu had a feeling that Violet would help out with it. "So, how should we begin?" He asked, ready to get started. | |

| Violet laughed a little before quickly moving on, not wanting to waste precious daylight that could be spent honing one's skills. Then again, if the daylight was gone you could just train into the night so it wasn't really so bad. "First things first, have you ever tried fighting without using moves before?" she asked Nate, her head tilting to the side ever so slightly as she did so. | |

| Nate paused for a moment, thinking about the question. "Yeah, I have. Can't say it's gone very well for me though." The Pikachu answered, chuckling a bit as he thought about it both from the thought itself and Violet's head-tilt. "Why do you ask?" He added, figuring there was a reason for the question and wondering what it was. Maybe she thought of a way to teach the move like that? | |

| "Well, I would like you to try fighting me using mainly your legs and feet. I hope to then progress to you using electrical moves through your feet, before moving on to channeling it into a full Magnet Rise move," she replied, confidently explaining to the Pikachu how she was planning to teach him the requested move. | |

| Nate thought about the process, wondering if it would work. Violet seemed to think so with the amount of confidence she carried in her voice, and so he was willing to go along with it. "That sounds like a good idea. I might not do very well fighting without moves, but I'll try." The Pikachu responded, nodding his head and waiting for the Oshawott's say to start. | |

| "Well you might not be very good at first, but that's why you're here," she grinned, chnaging her stance to brace herself for an attack from the Pikachu. Despite being inexperienced at hand-to-hand combat, it was likely that Nate could do some damage if he tried, so she took precautions just in case. "Alright," she smiled, nodding her head, "Go."

| Nate gave a simple nod of his head, seeing that they were ready to start. He took a breath in and started to run towards Violet, raising and pulling back his paw in an attempt to start out with a simple punch, something he was a bit used to. Of course, normally when he was punching he had some electricity coursing through his paw as back up, but this time since they weren't using moves he only had whatever power he could muster without using electricity, which was a significantly smaller amount. | |

| Due to Nate's slower speed in comparison to the Oshawott's, Violet had more than enough time to position herself to block the Pikachu's punch. She flashed him a small grin as she hopped backward a few steps after gauging the power behind the punch. "Don't stop there!" she called, beckoning him forward to try again. | |

| Nate's movement paused as Violet blocked his punch, and she took a few steps back. The Pikachu huffed slightly, before listening to her instruction and moving forward once more, punching again but this time also turning his body to the side, kicking as well. With the lack of legs and anything worth using to fight, this provided a more awkward body movement for him, one he made a mental note of to not use again. | |

| This time instead of blocking, Violet merely dodged the attempted punch by ducking to the side, before avoiding the kick by hopping backwards a few paces. "Keep experimenting and you'll eventually find the way that's easiest for you," she blinked after watching the awkward kicking movement. | |

| "I'm going to assume anything lower-body related isn't going to be easiest for me." The Pikachu commented, recovering his balance and positioning. He figured he should just keep going and she would say when to stop, and tried another tactic, this time punching forward at her with both of his paws at the same time, thinking it might make it harder to avoid. | |

| "You'll have to keep trying though," the Oshawott pointed out, "Since you'll need to get used to using your feet if you're going to learn Magnet Rise." She blinked as Nate punched forward with both paws, swiftly grabbing her scalchop and holding it out so that the main brunt of the attack was absorbed by the shell-like weapon rather than damaging her. | |

| Nate didn't respond, deciding to out his efforts into figuring out how to work with his attacks. He smirked faintly and nodded, a sign that he heard and acknowledged what she said, before trying out his next move. The Pikachu turned around, making a full spin on one foot and using the momentum to send a slightly less awkward and a tad more powerful kick towards Violet's shell. | |

| "That was much better!" grinned the Oshawott, still holding out her shell for the Pikachu to hit with his improvised attacks. There was definitely more power in that kick than the previous one, though there was still much to be improved. Hopefully it would just take a little getting used to. Once Nate got the hang of this, Violet was convinced he'd put up a pretty decent fight, especially if he learned this quickly. | |
